Geraldine "Gerry" Hassenflug-Harris
Geraldine "Gerry" Hassenflug-Harris, 58, of Oak View, died in Ventura, Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, after a short battle with lung cancer. She was born Sept. 27, 1942 in Royal Oak, Mich.
After graduating from St. Mary's High School in Royal Oak, she and her husband, David Hassenflug, came to California in 1962 to raise their family. She was a successful businesswoman, starting with her Ventura car wash, the 9 II 5 Car Wash, in the '80s, to her Gerry's Busy Oak Cafe in Oak View and Ventura through 1999.
Her interests included thrift store shopping and camping by a lake.
Mrs. Hassenflug-Harris is survived by her husband, Charles "Chip" Harris III of Oak View; her children, Mark and Audrey Hassenflug of Flagstaff, Ariz., Pam and Al Reagan of Oak View, and Brian and Julie Hassenflug of Oak View; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Hassenflug, in 1980.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. at Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Dale Kingsbury Sr.
Dale Kingsbury Sr., 85, of Ojai, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001 after a lengthy illness. He was born Feb. 26, 1916 in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Kingsbury was retired from the Getty Oil Company, and he was active with Help of Ojai.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nona; son Dale; sons and daughters-in-law Rick and Jeanne, and Mark and Karen; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Curtis; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Paul McCann
Paul McCann, 89, longtime resident of Palo Verde, Calif., died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001 at Acacias Care Center in Ojai. He was born Aug. 9, 1912 in St. Joseph, Mo.
Mr. McCann came to Los Angeles at age 17 and worked as a painting contractor until he started his own business as a real estate broker in Northridge, Calif. He was an early environmentalist and his interests included nature and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Glenn True of Ojai; daughters Maureen McCann of Fairfax, Calif., and Marie Coulson of Marysville, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law Paul and Marta McCann of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister Virginia Rowe of San Diego, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law Georgia and John Lewis of Solvang, Calif., and Betty and Bill Lovelady of Helena, Mont.; brother and sister-in-law Ed and Una McCann of Oceanside, Calif.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurses Association.
Arrangements were under the direction of Clausen Funeral Home in Ojai.
