Theresa (Moznik) Dissmore
Wenatchee
Theresa passed away peacefully Dec. 28, 2001 at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane while attending a funeral for her brother, Joe Grillo.
Theresa was born in McKees Rocks, PA, April 25, 1908 to Sara and John Grillo. The family moved to homestead in Aeneas Valley in 1901. She married Vincent "Sam" Semprimoznik Oct. 10, 1925. Later, they had their name shortened to Moznik. Two children were born, Hazel Thompson, who predeceased her in 1994 and Lester Moznik of Surrey, BC. Sam passed away in 1957 and she later married Eugene Dissmore in September 1966 and moved to Entiat and then to Wenatchee when he passed away in May 2000.
Survivors include one sister, Emma Staples of Portland, OR; her son Lester Moznik and families of Surrey, BC; stepdaughters, Gena Baker of Ellensburg and Rose Hawkins of Kennewick.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002 at Betts Memorial Chapel, followed by interment
at Tonasket Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Family and friends are gathering at Whistlers Cafe in Tonasket after the graveside service.
Service are under the care of Betts Funeral Service.
Jenna Verniece Brehm Franck
Corpus Christi, TX
Jenna Verniece Brehm Franck, a former resident of the Wenatchee Valley, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2001 at South Sphon Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX.
Jenna left with us, her precious infant daughter Keyla Verniece who was born Nov. 15, 2001.
Jenna was born at Central Washington Hospital on Feb. 25, 1982 in Wenatchee.
She was associated with Jehovah's Witnesses, was a member of FHA and was in the movie "The Hunted." Her hobbies included gardening, animals, dancing, singing, art, walking, traveling, the outdoors and the beach. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing with her nieces and nephew. She was so outgoing and friendly. She had a smile that would touch and brighten anyone's day. She looked forward to being a mother to her baby girl. Jenna was so young and had many plans for herself that included modeling and a teaching career.
Jenna is survived by her daughter, Keyla Verniece Jenna Franck; her parents, Wilson and Nina Franck of Texas; two brothers, Douglas Franck of Texas and Edwin Franck of California; four sisters, Jayne' Franck of Oregon, Lydia Franck Bruno of Texas, Debra Brooks of Washington and LuAnn Ganong of Idaho; special nieces and nephew David, Shalyn, Samantha and Nicoletta of Texas; nieces and nephews, Brandy, Jamie, Jacob, Dustin and Kelly; great niece, Abigail; special maternal grandmother, Faye Brehm of Washington; favorite great auntie Verniece Leachman of Oregon; close family friends, Joe Franck Minch and Chris Miller of Washington; her good friend, Robert Almeida of Texas; inspirational teacher and friend, Mrs. Ruth Mattson of Washington; many aunts, uncles and friends from all over the United States.
Graveside Services were held Nov. 21, 2001, at the Gregory Cemetery in Gregory, TX.
Remembered by a friend; "She's always surrounded by children, Jenna, with one of her smiling nieces sitting on her shoulders--both of them holding hands, and their hands were reaching towards the sky."
We will all miss Jenna, her smile, and we will always have her memory with us until we are reunited in the paradise earth, when Jehovah will resurrect her.
Donations are being accepted in a memorial fund set up for Jenna's daughter, Keyla Verniece Jenna Franck, at Cashmere Valley Bank.
Helen Louise Pybus Jordan
Wenatchee
Helen Louise Pybus Jordan, 93, a longtime resident of the Wenatchee area, went home to be with her Lord, Friday morning, Dec. 28, 2001, from the Highline Convalescent Center in East Wenatchee.
She was born Helen Louise Pybus to E.T. (Elias Thomas) and Nellie Marie (Tucker) Pybus on Nov. 15, 1908 in Yakima and when an infant, the family moved to Wenatchee, where her father established a blacksmith shop, which later became E.T. Pybus Company. She grew up and received her education in Wenatchee and following graduation from Wenatchee High School, she attended Willamette College and later the Bellingham Normal School, where she received her teachers certificate.
On Nov. 8 1941, she married Clem S. Jordan at Coeur d'Alene, ID. They made their home in Wenatchee, where Helen taught at Columbia and later Grant Elementary School. In 1972, she moved to Bellevue and volunteered at the Cancer Ward at the Virginia Mason Hospital. In 1989, she returned to Wenatchee.
Helen loved teaching reading and loved children--she tutored many youngsters in reading. She loved people and was one to champion the underdog. She loved to reach out to other people and she was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf and was active for many years in the PTA and the Children's Orthopedic Guild. Helen attended the Central Christian Church in Wenatchee and was a past member of the Wenatchee Golf and Country Club and the Wenatchee First Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Marva and Tom McDevitt of Leavenworth, Betty Tucker and Art Stenberg of Newberg, OR and Mary Ann Jordan of Seattle; 10 grandchildren, Tatia Tucker Joyner, Melissa Tucker Malmedal, Nicole Tucker Riensche, Mara Tucker, Matthew, Jennifer, Todd and Jordan McDevitt, Autumn and David Jordan.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
A family Graveside Service will be held Thursday morning, Jan. 3, 2002 in the Peshastin Cemetery. A Memorial Service of Commemoration to Celebrate the Life of Helen L. Pybus Jordan will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the Jones & Jones Funeral Home in Wenatchee, with Pastor Walt Goehner, officiating.
Memorials will be made to the Tonga Medical Mission; 111 Whitman St., #2A; Leavenworth, WA 98826.

Lloyd Keagle
Caldwell, ID
Lloyd Keagle, 72 of Caldwell, ID, passed away at a Caldwell hospital on Dec. 29, 2001.
Cremation is under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, ID.
Lloyd was born July 28, 1929, to Harold E. and Gertrude Fife Keagle in Wenatchee. Lloyd graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1947. He joined the Army Air Corps in June of 1947 and was discharged from the United States Air Force in June of 1950. Lloyd married Dolores Jacqueline (Tuny) Palmer July 8, 1950.
Lloyd was a professional firefighter for 26 years and retired from the Anchorage Fire Department as a Senior Captain in September of 1977. Lloyd was a member of the National Firefighters Union and the Scottish Rite Masons in Wenatchee. In August of 1994, Lloyd and Tuny moved to Caldwell, ID where they enjoyed fishing at Anderson Ranch Reservoir.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Tuny; son Glenn; mother Gertrude Keagle; a sister, Donna Detering of Wenatchee; grandson, Nathan Keagle of Wenatchee and a brother, C.R. Keagle of Gig Harbor.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Harold E. Keagle and 10-year-old son, Harold E. Keagle.
At his request, there will be no memorial services.

Raymond E. Lidikay
Wenatchee
Raymond E. Lidikay, 98, of Wenatchee, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001 at his home.
He was born July 29, 1903, to Arthur Charles and Elizabeth (Fiehler) Lidikay at Wellsville, KS where he was raised and educated. In school, he participated in football and baseball. Following his graduation, he played semi-pro baseball in Ft. Scott, KS.
Raymond attended and graduated from Baker University in Baldwin, KS. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
He moved from Kansas to Colorado Springs, CO at the start of W.W. II. In 1952, he moved to Denver where he lived until 1993, when he moved to Wenatchee.
Mr. Lidikay worked as a sales representative for Wilson Sporting Goods, retiring in 1968 after 42 years of service.
He married Frances Lewis on August 19, 1950 at Denver, CO.
Survivors include his wife, Frances of the home; three daughters, Linda Dzintars and her husband Valdis of Sioux Falls, SD and their children, Eric and Elise; Barbara Lidikay and her husband Robert Huey of Gig Harbor and their children, Curtis and Emma; Karen Lidikay and her husband Mark Wade of East Wenatchee and their children, Sara and Jamie.
Family Services were held Monday, Dec. 31, 2001 at Telford's Chapel of the Valley, with a private burial at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Janet E. (Wedeberg) Motteler
Leavenworth
Janet E. (Wedeberg) Motteler, 62, a well-known resident and businesswoman of Leavenworth, died Friday afternoon Dec. 28, 2001 in Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, following a sudden illness.
She was born Janet E. Wedeberg on April 28, 1939 in Seattle to Elwood R. and Virginia (McDonald) Wedeberg. She grew up and received her early education in Seattle and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957. Janet then attended the University of Washington.
On June 11, 1960, she married Frank R. Motteler in Seattle. They moved to Leavenworth to make their home and raise their family. Together with her husband, they operated the family-owned orchard and commercial interests, which she continued, following her husband's death.
She was a member of the Leavenworth Community United Methodist Church; Upper Valley Arts; Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce; Royal Lady of the Autumn Leaves in 1985; Cascade Medical Center Foundation; and the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority of the University of Washington. Janet was an accomplished musician and gave of herself and shared her ability by playing for church, community and school events.
Janet is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Jim Dolstad of Danville, CA, Marianne and Brian Vincent and Megan and John Schiefelbein, all of Leavenworth and Margaret Ann and John Coddington of Moscow, ID, her mother, Virginia Wedeberg of Leavenworth and her brother, Jack Wedeberg of Leavenworth; four granddaughters, Brianne and Emily Vincent and Katie and Madeline Schiefelbein and a grandson, Coddington, expected in May 2002.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 13, 1981 and her father, Elwood Wedeberg on Nov. 28, 2001.
A Funeral Service of Commemoration to Celebrate the Life of Janet E. Motteler, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, Jan. 2, 2002 in the Leavenworth Community United Methodist Church, with Pastor Lindsy Ireland, officiating. The casket will remain closed and the service will conclude in the church with Private Family Interment
Service in the Mt. View Cemetery.

Ann (McDonald) Strawn
Austin, TX
Ann (McDonald) Strawn died peacefully Christmas Eve, 2001 with her family at her side at Bridgestone Health Center in Austin, TX after a four-and-a-half year battle with melanoma cancer
She was born Jan. 25, 1925 in Hardy, AR to William Bryan McDonald and Lucy Jane (Hood) McDonald. Her family moved west to Washington in 1932, living for two years in Monitor before moving to Wenatchee in 1934. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1943 and met her future husband at a USO dance at Ephrata Army Air Base in April 1944. After he was transferred to Santa Rosa Army Air Base, CA, she joined him and they were married Oct. 7, 1944. After separating from the service in late 1945, they moved to Wenatchee where a son, Charles David and a daughter, Janet Lynn were born.
After her husband was recalled to active duty in 1954, Ann and their children accompanied him to several air bases around the country and spent three-and-a-half years in Germany. They were stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, CA when her husband retired in 1972 and they returned to Wenatchee. They moved to Austin, TX in 1997 to be near her son and his family after she was diagnosed with cancer.
Besides her husband, Charles, she is survived by her son and his wife, Karen and a grandson, David Alan, all of Austin, TX; her daughter and her husband, Carlos Espada, live in Kauai, HI; her granddaughter, Jennifer and her husband, David Sciarrino, reside in San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by two brothers, William Dorce McDonald and his wife Viola of Spokane and Thomas Wilbur McDonald and his wife Erna of Wenatchee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Treva G. MacArther, all of Wenatchee.
Her ashes will be scattered in the mountains near Wenatchee, where she enjoyed many happy outings.
She loved animals and they loved her.

Emma Martin, 84, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, in Yakima.
She had lived in East Wenatchee for 35 years before moving to Yakima. She had been a waitress for many years at the Nite & Day Cafe and Smitty's Restaurant.
Survivors include a son, Jim Martin of Lake Stevens; two daughters, Sharon Barrett of Yakima and Marcia Maxson of Selah; a brother, Mike Badura of Nevada; and three sisters, Josie Kuta, Grace Smedra and Florence Chilewski, all of Loup City, Neb.
A funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Nelson H. Quast
Nelson H. Quast, 72, of Entiat, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001.
He had lived in Entiat for 55 years and had worked for the U.S. Forest Service.
Survivors include a son, Lanny Quast of Arizona; a daughter, Lana Barone of Malaga; a brother, Ed Quast; and a sister, Agnes Ketcham of Kennewick.
At his request, there will be no services.

Lucille K. Strutzel
Lucille K. Strutzel, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at the Cashmere Convalescent Center.
She was born up Ollala Canyon, near Cashmere. She had lived nearly all of her life in the Cashmere area.
She worked in secretCourier and sales clerk positions, including Growers Credit, J.C. Penney and Doane's.
Survivors include her husband, Rudy Strutzel Jr.; a son, Eric Strutzel of Cashmere; and two daughters, Paula Strutzel of Cashmere and Karla Strutzel of Sequim.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Cashmere.
Suno H. Ahnell
Chelan
Suno H. Ahnell, 86, a 19-year resident of Chelan, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Central Washington Hospital, Wenatchee, following a brief illness.
He was born April 30, 1915, at Gottland, Sweden, the son of Jacob and Anna Ahnell.
As a small child, he moved to the U.S. due to his father's concern about the war going on around their island in Sweden.
The family immigrated to Blue Island, IL on May 12, 1916 and he became a U.S. Citizen on Nov. 17, 1916. He attended schools there and was a serious amateur baseball and basketball player in his youth.
His first business was making airplane propellers for the W.W. II effort--he was a woodworking craftsman who started as a millwright in the grain business. He steadily expanded his business into a large pattern-making business serving foundries throughout the Midwest from downstate Illinois. Eventually, he left the pattern-making business and went on to supervise a major aluminum foundry in Ohio for Winters Industries. He was a well-known foundry manager in the automotive industry--highly respected for making complex engine parts that others could not do.
Despite being raised in the city, he always had an interest in livestock and he managed to own cows and horses throughout most of his life. He greatly enjoyed showing quarter horses and had a AQHA Champion--Jay Dot Skippy.
He was married to Rose Marie Sofiak who preceded him in death on May 6, 1978.
He constantly looked for better ways to do things at work and on the ranch. He had a reputation for finding a way to make things work in spite of adversity, which served him well with customers and managers including GM and Ford.
Following his retirement from Winters Industries, he moved to Chelan in 1982 because of the pioneer spirit here and spent summers in Stehekin with the Courtney family--taking his pack horses up-lake on a barge for the season.
On July 24, 1982, he was married to Barbara Lafferty at Bellevue.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church; the Elks Lodge at Quincy, IL; F. & A.M. #166, Star In The East Lodge at Rockford, IL; the Chelan Eagles Aerie 2218; and the Washington State Cattlemen's Association.
Survivors include his wife, Barb of the home; a son, Arden Ahnell of Cleveland, OH; two daughters, Sylvia Gervais of Chelan; Gloria Haerer of Granite City, IL; a brother Clark Ahnell of Pompano Beach, FL; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 4, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Lake Chelan Lutheran Church with the Reverend Paul Palumbo officiating.
Memorials may be made to Lake Chelan Community Hospital Foundation.
Services are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
W.H. "Dub" Baker
Manson
W.H. "Dub" Baker, 70, a fifty year resident of Manson, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at Lake Chelan Community Hospital.
He was born August 13, 1931, at Atoka, OK, the son of Willie and Fay (Couch) Baker. He moved with his family to Manson in 1943, where he attended schools.
For a few years, he traveled and worked on the West Coast. Upon returning to Manson, he was employed with Chelan Apple Co. from 1954 to 1962. From 1962 to 1988, he was employed with Lake Chelan Reclamation District. Since 1988, he was active as an orchardist and fisherman. He was a member of the Lake Chelan Boating Club and Chelan Eagles Aerie 2218 (35 years).
On Nov. 20, 1965, he was married to Susan B. Huntington in Chelan.
Survivors include his wife and fishing partner, Sue, of the home; a son, Steve Baker-Cotton, of Wenatchee; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Kathy) Shearman, of Azle, TX; his brothers, Charles Edward, of East Wenatchee, Haril, of Manson, Ikey, of Entiat, Alton Dell, of Moses Lake, Ellis, of Coulee Dam, William "Billy," of Puyallup, Ira, of Seattle; his sisters, Lillie Downey, of Kalama, Flora Wolf, of Entiat, Nina Hood and Trisha Morphis, both of Visalia, CA, Linna Simmons, of East Wenatchee, Donna Coggins, of Manson; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Northshore Bible Church, with Donn Plew officiating. Interment
will be at Milton-Freewater, OR. Visitation will be Thursday until
8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Lake Chelan Boating Club Scholarship Fund.

Warren D. Baker Sr.
Warren D. Baker Sr., 63, of Oroville, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane.
He was born and grew up in Omak. He worked for Biles-Coleman, then later moved to Oroville and worked for Ray Colbert as manager of Oroville Fruit Co.. He worked for the Okanogan County Public Works from 1981 until retiring in 1999.
Survivors include his wife, Chris Baker, of the home; two sons, Warren Baker Jr. of Waterville and Duane Baker of Omak; three daughters, Annette Liebreght of Moses Lake, Lori Kuntz of Anchorage, Alaska, and Leslee Hyatt of Spokane; two brothers, Delbert Baker of Omak and Loren Baker of Boise, Idaho; and a sister, Loretta Lawrence of Lebanon, Ore.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oroville United Methodist Church, the Rev. Jin Ming Ma officiating.
Arrangements are by Bergh Funeral Service, Oroville.

Harold N. Hardman
Harold N. Hardman, 77, of Eatontown, N.J., died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001.
He was born in Wenatchee and had lived in Eatontown, N.J., since 1949. He had worked in program management at Fort Monmouth for 32 years, retiring in 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Yolanda Sirianni Hardman; three sons, Greg A. Hardman of Conifer, Colo., Gary N. Hardman of Jacksonville, Fla., and the Rev. Glen T. Hardman of West Valley, N.Y.; a brother, Richard Hardman of Northridge, Calif.; and two sisters, Alice Wilson of San Jose, Calif., and Mary Ellen Chaney of Elkville, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, N.J. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Marie K. Marker
Marie K. Marker, 76, of East Wenatchee, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at Central Washington Hospital.
She was born and grew up in Wenatchee. She had worked at Seattle First National Bank for 40 years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, East Wenatchee, the Revs. Walt Reese and Elmer Haight officiating. Interment
will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
