Lynn Marie Poirier
North Dartmouth, MA
Lynn Marie Poirier, 41, a long-time Wenatchee resident, passed away Jan. 10, 2001, at North Dartmouth, MA.
She was born Aug. 26, 1959, to Donald and Mary Jean Poirier at Yakima. She was a 1977 graduate of Wenatchee High School and continued her schooling at Wenatchee Valley College. She received her certification as a Respiratory Therapist.
Lynn was employed at the Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI, Mid-Valley Hospital in Omak and Hartmann Medical in Wenatchee, prior to making her home on the Virgin Island of St. Thomas. There, she enjoyed the comforts of the ocean as well as the warmth of the sun.
A year ago, she returned to the mainland, taking up residency in North Dartmouth, MA. Lynn continued to enjoy trips to the seashore and writing poetry. Some of her poems were published in national publications giving her much pleasure and pride.
Lynn was preceded in death by her brother, Chris and her grandmothers, Esther Dokken and Eliza Poirier.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Jean Pell and husband Bob; her father, Don Poirier and wife, Carol; her brothers and their families, Dan Poirier and wife, Kathy, Jeff and Kaitlyn; Scott Poirier and wife Jennifer, Aaron, Jameson and Gavin; Mike Poirier and wife Maureen, Abbie, Emilie and Libbie. She is also survived by her aunt Linda Jex and family and her acquired sisters, Lisa Douglass, Susie Pell, Heidi Jess and Amy Cole.
Lynn had a great capacity for loving all of God's creation and especially His creatures who were dependent upon her. Fittingly, anyone wishing to make a contribution in her memory, might consider the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society.
Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at the Jones & Jones Colonial Chapel in Wenatchee.
Jayson Allen Batchelor
Jayson Allen Batchelor, 11, of Manson, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, in a drowning accident at Roses Lake.
He was born in Chelan. He was a fifth-grader at Manson Elementary School, where he had participated in basketball, soccer and band.
He is survived by his parents, Jay and Trisha Batchelor of the home; and a sister, Crista Batchelor of the home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chelan United Methodist Church, Meredith Jeffries officiating. Committal services and interment
will follow at Fraternal Cemetery in Chelan. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Juanita Jennings Combs
Juanita Jennings Combs, 83, of Oroville, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at North Valley Nursing Home in Tonasket.
She was born and raised in Oklahoma. She moved to Oroville in 1940, where she had worked for Oliver Balmes Orchards, as a cook in various area restaurants, and as a caregiver for the elderly.
Survivors include three sons, Walter Jennings of Oroville, Jim Jennings of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Mike Jennings of Okanogan; a daughter, Pauline Lane of Spokane; and two sisters, Doxy and Jo, both of Tulsa, Okla.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oroville Riverview Cemetery, Pastor Claude Roberts officiating.
Arrangements are by Bergh Funeral Service, Oroville.
Timothy Earl McCabe
Timothy Earl McCabe, 10, of Manson, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, in a drowning accident at Roses Lake.
He was born in First Creek. He was in the fourth grade at Manson Elementary School.
He is survived by his parents, Timothy and Patricia McCabe of the home; two brothers, Cody McCabe of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Shawn McCabe of the home; and two sisters, Monica of Sparks, Nev., and Amy of the home.
Commemoration services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at North Shore Bible Church in Manson, the Rev. Craig Rayment officiating. Committal service and interment
will follow at Fraternal Cemetery in Chelan. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Sina V. Millman Miller
Sina V. Millman Miller, 86, of Cashmere, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001.
She had been a homemaker and was an 11-year resident of Cashmere.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Miller of Cashmere; a daughter, Kathy Rua of Portland, Ore.; three sons, Ben Millman of Everson, Tom Millman of Kodiak, Alaska, and Jack Millman of Kenmore; and three stepdaughters, Doris Landers of Arizona, Laura Millman of Hawaii and Rosalie James of Arizona.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

M. Marie Housden Fitzgerald Taylor
M. Marie Housden Fitzgerald Taylor, 91, of Mansfield, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Sarasota, Fla.
She was a longtime resident of Mansfield.
She is survived by three daughters, Lydia Dammann of Wenatchee, Wilma Fitzgerald of Seattle, and Collen Stoller of Sarasota, Fla.; and a son, Patrick Fitzgerald of Chiangmai, Thailand.
No funeral services have been scheduled. Local arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
J.R. "Archie" Archambault
Cashmere
J.R. "Archie" Archambault, 64, a longtime resident of Chelan County, died Jan. 15, 2001, in Wenatchee.
He was born Dec. 30, 1936, to Edmond and Florence (Knadle) Archambault in Thief River Falls, MN.
His family moved to Bremerton in 1942 and in 1943, they purchased Ingalls Creek Lodge on Blewett Pass, where he grew up. He attended Peshastin grade school and after graduation, attended St. Martin's High School in Lacey for four years and one year of St. Martin's College. To assist his parents at the lodge, he then transferred to Wenatchee Valley College where he graduated with an Associate in Arts Degree.
He volunteered for the Navy in 1956. After two years of active reserve service at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland, CA, he moved to Seattle in 1958, receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1962. While there, he married Joyce Falen and worked as a computer systems analyst.
Upon his divorce in 1970, he moved back to Ingalls Creek Lodge to work for his parents. When his mother passed away in 1973, he purchased the lodge from his father. He left the lodge in 1975 and lived in Wenatchee for 15 years, during which time he held such positions in the food and beverage industry as manager, bartender, head waiter and Maitre d'. He moved to Cashmere in 1990, after a medical retirement.
Survivors include one son, Robert of Seattle; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
"Per my wishes, there will be no services. In memory of me, all I ask is that you hug a child, smile at a stranger and pet an animal. Those wishing to do so, may make a contribution to the Wenatchee Dialysis Center Refreshment Fund."

Gladys Ann Berger
Surprise, AZ
Gladys Ann Berger, 87, of Surprise, AZ and a former resident of Wenatchee from 1947 to 1986, went to be with her Messiah, Lord and Savior, Jan. 13, 2001. She is now with her beloved husband Ted and son Michael, who preceded her in death.
Gladys was born Jan. 7, 1914, in Hibbing, MN. After her 1935 marriage to Ted, the Bergers lived in Minnesota until 1945, then traveled to Washington State, where they lived until their retirement.
Gladys will always be remembered for her love for animals, flowers, sharing her home with children so they could learn from the Bible and co-sharing with her husband, their love for Jewish people.
Gladys is survived by her children, Samuel of Palmdale, CA; and her daughter, Toby of Raleigh, NC; her brother, Ben of Minnesota; grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving and caring friends.
"We can't think of anything that is as sweet as a mother's love, That is as precious as you have been to us, or that is as appreciated as your smile that warmed our hearts."
"We love you so much mother. We also thank God that you were ours."

Geraldine Etta (Crill) Eller
East Wenatchee
Geraldine Etta (Crill) Eller, 95, of East Wenatchee, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, in Highline Care Center.
She was born April 24 1905, in Nampa, ID to Rollie J. and Pearl (Yant) Crill, the eldest of the children.
She graduated from Emmett, ID, High School and attended McPherson College, McPherson, KS for three years. It was there that she met Jay Eller.
Mrs. Eller taught fifth grade for one year in Emmett, ID. She then married Jay V. Eller in Emmett,ID on June 20, 1926 and they settled in Wenatchee where she bore and raised three children.
She was a writer of several books and booklets, particularly church history and memoirs. She read the church's "Messenger" on tape for the blind. She was the historian for the Church of the Brethren, Washington and Oregon for many years as well as a caller on the prayer chain.
Geraldine was also a member of the Wenatchee Brethren Baptist Church-United.
Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Vernard (Phyllis) of LaVerne, CA, Eldon (Margaret) of San Marcos, CA and Elfreda (Fred) Holmes of Tonasket; one brother, Philip Donald Crill of Cupertino, CA; one sister, Emily Decker of Boise, ID; 11 grandchildren, including Pam (Dave) Liley of East Wenatchee; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jay in 1978, her parents, five brothers, one sister and by a grandson, Rick Holmes.
A graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Wenatchee City Cemetery with Pastor Sam Detwiler officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brethren Baptist Church Memorial Fund.

Sam N. Garrett
Waterville
Sam N. Garrett, 80, a lifetime Waterville businessman, died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 14, 2001, following an extended illness.
He was born at Waterville on Sept. 11, 1920, to Charles Joseph and Gladys V. (Johnston) Garrett.
After graduation from Waterville High School, at the age of 19, Sam started his business career as a clerk at the Marshall-Wells Hardware Store.
During W.W. II, he served in the U.S. Army from Aug. 13, 1942, until his honorable discharge on Jan. 3, 1946. He returned to the hardware store and on June 29, 1947, he married Maryalice Griffin at LaMoine. On July 1, 1952, the couple purchased the business. In 1980, they built a new building, moved the hardware business into it and renamed it Garrett Hardware. Sam and Maryalice retired in 1985.
Sam was a past president of the Waterville Ski Hill and one of the organizers of that group. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, past Master of Badger Mountain Lodge #57 F & AM, Harmony Chapter #56 OES and Waterville Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Nerea and Steve Rejniak of Kennewick; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Cindy Garrett of Waterville; four grandchildren, Jason Rejniak of Bothell, Wyndi Rejniak of Seattle and Brooke and Ryan Garrett of Waterville; four brothers and sisters, Bill Garrett of Mesa, AZ, Cecil Garrett of Waterville, Bernice Kahlow of Kenmore and Irene Gormley of East Wenatchee; and a special companion, Betty Baker of Waterville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maryalice, a son, Charles Neil Garrett and his parents.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday afternoon, Jan. 20, 2001, in the Waterville Federated Church. Pastor Thom Gosser and Badger Mountain Lodge #56, F & AM will officiate.
If desired, memorials may be made to the Waterville Ambulance Fund.

Carolyn Elizabeth Marshall
Wenatchee
Carolyn Elizabeth Marshall, 74, of Wenatchee and a life-resident of the Wenatchee Valley, died Saturday evening, Jan. 13, 2001, at her home.
She was born Carolyn Elizabeth Hansen on Feb. 22, 1926, to Hans T. and Clara (Siebenschuh) Hansen at Leavenworth, where she grew up and received her education, graduating from Leavenworth High School in 1944.
On June 30, 1945, she married Milton Lawrence Marshall at Seattle. They made their home in Leavenworth, where they raised their daughter. Carolyn had served as a Camp Fire Girls leader for several years and also was involved with the Rainbow Girls' Mothers Club. Together with her husband, they owned and operated Marshall's Variety Store from 1960 to 1962.
Carolyn was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and for many years served as the church organist, was a past member of the Tamarack Women's Club, Cascade Chapter OES and was a member of the Chumstick Grange #819.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Elizabeth Launer of Wenatchee; two grandsons, Aaron Pflugrath of Seattle and Andrew Pflugrath of Lake Stevens; great-granddaughter, Isabella Launer; one sister, Alma Hardman of East Wenatchee; three brothers, Walter B. Hansen of Winlock; George E. Hansen of Quincy and William S. Hansen of Malaga; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in April of 1995 and a daughter, Candace Pflugrath in November of 1995, one brother and four sisters.
At her request, there will be no services. Private inurnment will be in the Mt. View Cemetery at a later date.

Mary Mink
Wenatchee
Mary Mink, a resident of Wenatchee for 28 years, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord, on Sunday night, Jan. 14, 2001.
Mary Wilson Whitaker was born to James Raymond and Hattie B. Whitaker on Nov. 11, 1907 in Bradshaw Mill, KY. She received her education in Kentucky, which included a year of college.
She married the Rev. Nelson Mink on May 14, 1928 in Richmond, KY. He was the pastor of a church in Carthage, KY at that time and she became the "Parsonage Queen." She served in this role through all of the pastoral assignments including a period of five years in Australia, until they retired to Wenatchee in 1973. She was a multi-talented lady who even filled the pulpit for several weeks when the Rev. Mink suffered a serious illness.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas N. and Mary Ann Mink of Idyllwild, CA; her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Charles Brodhead of Riverside, CA and her daughter and son-in-law, Juanita and Jim Anderson of Wenatchee; and a sister, Ada Herald, New Port Richey, FL. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Connie Lou, Charles Nelson, Jerrold, Jeffrie and James Nelson; and nine great-grandchildren, Chadwynn, Emylee, Charles Douglas, Jarrod, Jason, Justin, Sarah, Braden and Melissa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers, Earl and Price, as well as five sisters, Flossie, Mattie, Hazel, Thula and Nellie.
Commemoration Services will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1011 So. Miller, Wenatchee on Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 at 10 a.m. Concluding services and the interment
will follow in Wenatchee Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from noon until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Church of the Nazarene Memorial Fund.

Dr. William Ferol Wood
East Wenatchee
Dr. William Ferol Wood, age 78, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001 at Central Washington Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Naomi; his children, William and Nancy Wood, Janice and Michael Conchuratt, Peggy and Terrel Michel, Kirk and Kim Wood; his grandchildren, Mike and Patricia Conchuratt, Brian Conchuratt, Kristen Wood, Kaitlin Wood and Stacey Michel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John Wood.
Dr. Wood is survived by his siblings, Marjorie Polzin, Delta Wilcoxin, Richard Wood, Kathleen Gartrell and James Wood.
Dr. Wood proudly served his country on the U.S.S. Brazos during W.W. II in campaigns in the Aleutian Islands, South Pacific and Okinawa. He was part of the American occupation forces in Japan and served on the flagship U.S.S. Mt. McKinley during the Bikini Atom Bomb test. He also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Dr. Wood attended the University of Denver and was an alumni of the National School of Chiropractic in Chicago.
Searching for a better environment in which to raise his family, Dr. Wood moved to Wenatchee in 1960 where he practiced for 25 years before retirement.
Dr. Wood took pride in his Scottish heritage. During his extensive travels, he was able to visit the homeland of his father. In the words of Braveheart, he now knows "Freedom."
Special heartfelt thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Wenatchee Valley Clinic and Central Washington Hospital.
Family requests that memorial donations be made to the Central Washington Hospital Foundation.

Richard Edward Huber
Richard Edward Huber, 81, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Mountain Glen Retirement Center in Mount Vernon.
He was born in Illinois and moved to Omak when he was 12 years old. He worked at Biles Coleman for many years.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Okanogan, the Rev. Rory Pitstick officiating. Burial will be in the Omak City Cemetery.

Jeronimo Alvarez Reynaga
Jeronimo Alvarez Reynaga, 85, of Wenatchee, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001.
He had lived in Wenatchee for 20 years and did general labor work in the farming industry.
Survivors include his wife, Lupe, of Wenatchee; five sons, Candido, Jesse and Ruben, all of Wenatchee, Raul of Seattle and Obdulio of East Wenatchee; a daughter, Rosa Bannuelos of Wenatchee; and a sister, Aurelia Reynaga of Mexico.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Telford's Chapel of the Valley. Burial will be at the Wenatchee Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William F. Wood
William F. Wood, 78, of East Wenatchee died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, in Wenatchee.
He had lived in East Wenatchee since 1986 and was a longtime resident of the Wenatchee Valley. He had been a chiropractor.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Wood, of the home; two sons, William Wood and Kirk Wood; two daughters, Janice Conchuratt and Peggy Michael; three sisters, Marjorie Polzin, Delta Wilcoxin and Kathleen Gartrell; and two brothers, Richard Wood and James Wood.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Jones and Jones Colonial Chapel, 21 S. Chelan Ave. in Wenatchee. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Jones and Jones Funeral Directors, Wenatchee.
Scott Arthur Phillips
Scott Arthur Phillips, 38, of Spokane, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001.
He attended Brewster and Bridgeport schools from 1970 to 1980. Survivors include his children, Kale and Elizebeth Phillips of Bridgeport; his mother and stepfather, Kathie and Ken Dau of Grand Coulee; a sister, Kimberlie Smith of the Methow Valley; a brother, Casey Phillips of Bridgeport; his father, Robert S. Phillips Jr. of Mobile, Ala.; his biological father, Carl Crowder of Birmingham, Ala.; and his caregiver and friend, Lani Parker of Spokane.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church in Brewster. A meal and gathering will follow at the American Legion Hall there.
