Donna V. Blair
Spokane
Donna V. Blair, age 80, born Jan. 21, 1920, in Wilson Creek, passed away Jan. 18, 2001, in Spokane.
Mrs. Blair was a resident of the Spokane area for 51 years. She was a member of the St. Charles Parish, Moose Lodge and Eagles Aerie #2.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard J. and Maria Blair of Port Orchard; daughter and son-in-law, Kaye Anderson and Lloyd Kersey, Jr.; sisters, Nadine McGaughey of Crescent Bar and Marian Sellar of Bremerton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; Melissa Kristine, Kimberly Ann and Carrie Christine, Dawn Marie and Eric Jay; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces; and four nephews.
Her husband, Jerome H. Blair, preceded her in death in 1978.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division with the Reverend Robert Smith, officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

William "Bill" Arthur Brown
Monitor
William "Bill" Arthur Brown, 69, died Friday, January 19, 2001 at his home in Monitor after a two-year battle with cancer.
He was born August 26, 1931 in Dayton to Dennis and Florence (Jennings) Brown. He graduated from Dayton High School in 1950. After two years in the Army, during the Korean War, he continued his education at Washington State College in Pullman where he graduated in 1958. He started teaching agriculture and shop at Chelan High School in the same year. He later taught at schools in Prescott, Touchet, Wenatchee and Bridgeport.
He bought orchard land in 1974 in Monitor and leased other orchards where he raised pears, apples, cherries, apricots and peaches until ill health forced him to retire. While still in the service, he married Danice Brodhead of Dayton. They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary last October.
He is survived by his wife at home; three daughters, Terry and her husband Hector Espino of Monitor, Sherrie and her husband DeWayne Branam and Shelene Brown, all of Curlew. He also leaves seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001 at Telford's Chapel of the Valley with Chaplain Scott Langager officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill's name to Central Washington Hospital Hospice or the Hatfield-Brodhead Scholarship Fund.
Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.

Dorothy F. Lyon
East Wenatchee
Dorothy F. Lyon, mother and grandmother, 81, and resident of East Wenatchee for the past 54 years, died Jan. 19, 2001, to join God and beloved husband. She passed from a brief illness with her loving family by her side.
Dorothy was born on July 26, 1919 in Mansfield where she was raised for several years and moved to Twisp where she met her husband of 62 loving years. She also attended elementary school in the Twisp area.
Dorothy married Victor T. Lyon at East Wenatchee on Jan. 13, 1938. The couple moved to California for a short time, then moved to Everett and in 1946 made their final move to East Wenatchee. The couple would stay here to settle down and raise a family of three loving children. Dorothy worked at Dusty's In and Out for a number of years, where she was known as "Short." She worked at the Eye and Ear Clinic and retired after 20 dedicated years.
She was very dedicated to her family and especially to her grandchildren whom she loved more than anything in the world. Her family has found peace at heart knowing that she will always be watching over them since her passing. She is now walking with her beloved husband who she missed so much.
She is survived by daughters, Barbara Lyon and Ella Smith, East Wenatchee; son-in-law, Bill Smith; son, Vic Lyon of Spokane; brother, Kenneth Rattray of Mesa, CA; and beloved six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor T. Lyon, parents and brother.
A Graveside Service was held on Jan. 22, 2001, Monday at
2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in East Wenatchee by Pastor Mike Osborn.
For friends or family who wish, memorials may be made in Dorothy's name to the New Song Youth Group.
Jones & Jones Funeral Directors of Wenatchee handled arrangements.

Cecil "Bud" Myrtle
Wenatchee
Cecil "Bud" Myrtle, 72, a lifelong Stemilt Hill and Wenatchee resident, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Central Washington Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 9, 1928, at Mineral, to George and Sara Ellen (Buckles) Myrtle. As a young child, he moved with his family to Stemilt Hill where he was raised and attended elementary school. In the late 1930s, his family moved to Wenatchee where he attended H.B. Ellison Jr. High and Wenatchee High School. He entered the U.S. Navy and served shipboard in the South Pacific area. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, he re-enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict with the Second Division, Can Do Unit. He received his second discharge in 1953 and returned to Wenatchee where he married his sweetheart, Anna Bell Smith on May 15, 1953. They made their permanent home together in Wenatchee.
Bud went to work as a fireman for Keokuk in Rock Island and remained there through its transition into Hannah Mining. He retired in 1991, after working there for 38 years.
Mr. Myrtle attended the New Life Center Church of God in East Wenatchee and he was a longtime member of Union, Local #30 of Wenatchee.
Bud was a devoted grandfather and also loved his dogs, his yard and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anna Bell "Annie" Myrtle of Wenatchee; three children and their spouses, Becky and Ed Smiddy of Wenatchee, Tim and Janice Myrtle and Lisa and Fred Martinez, all of East Wenatchee; two sisters, Lela Brown of Wenatchee and Linda White of Soap Lake; one brother, Donald Myrtle of Roy, UT; 13 grandchildren, Summer Colwell, Dawson Colwell, Kelly Weems and Willy Weems, all of Wenatchee; Ed Smiddy, Jr. and Brian Smiddy, both of East Wenatchee, Casey and Rique Herr of Kennewick, Maria Nason, Terra Washburn, Tawnee Washburn, Jaeman Martinez, Danika Martinez and Jacob Martinez, all of East Wenatchee; and one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Hearn of Kennewick.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Commemoration Services will be held on Tuesday morning, Jan. 23, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Telford's Chapel of the Valley with the Reverend Ron Hodges officiating. Concluding services and the interment will follow in Wenatchee Cemetery.
Friends who wish may make memorial donations in his name to the New Life Center Church of God Building Fund.
Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of Valley, East Wenatchee.

Robert W. Pearson
Quincy
Robert W. Pearson, 80, of Quincy, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001 at his daughter's home in Quincy.
He was born on April 13, 1920 to Earl James and Faye (Dilts) Pearson at Conneaut, OH. He attended school in Conneaut, graduating from Conneaut High School in 1938. Bob entered the U.S. Navy in 1939 serving until his honorable discharge as a Pharmacist's Mate First Class in 1945.
He married Marie Rose on June 30, 1950 at Geneva, OH. They moved to California from Ohio in 1952. Bob worked as a chemical engineer for Convair in San Diego from 1952 until 1965 and then for McDonnell-Douglas in Monrovia, CA from 1965 until 1972. They moved to Quincy in 1972 where he owned and operated a farm and orchard until his retirement in 1975.
He was a member of the American Legion Lambert Schulz Post 183 in Quincy.
Mr. Pearson is survived by son, Richard E. Pearson of Lakewood; daughter, Gail E. Evans of Quincy; and four grandchildren.
His wife, Marie, preceded him in death in October 1998.
Private family inurnment services will be held at a later date.
Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy is in charge of arrangements.

Jeanne Henderson Ruby
Anacortes
Jeanne Henderson Ruby, 76, of Anacortes, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, in Skagit Valley Hospital.
She was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Anacortes, the daughter of Joseph and Edna (Fenno) Henderson.
During her early years, she lived in Chelan, where she received her education and graduated from Chelan High School. In 1977, she returned to Anacortes where she resided the rest of her lifetime.
She was a member of the P.E.O. and the Presbyterian Church and during her working years, she was employed as a public school teacher and County Extension Agent.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Betty Clark, two brothers, Bob and David Henderson.
She is survived by two daughters, Edna Elavsky of Anacortes and Esme Davis of Kenesaw, GA; two sons, Henry Ruby of Kennewick and Bob Ruby of Mount Vernon; two brothers, Otis Henderson of Chelan and Dan Henderson of Seattle.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at the Chelan United Methodist Church, 1206 N. Emerson, Chelan 98816.
Memorials may be made to your local Methodist or Presbyterian Church in her name.
Arrangements are under the care of Evans Funeral Chapel, Anacortes.

Oma M. Ward
Chelan
Oma M. Ward, 91, a 42-year resident of Chelan, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Regency Manor Convalescent Center.
She was born Oct. 20, 1909, at Everett, the daughter of William and Bertha (Johnson) Bowers.
Later, the family moved to Yakima and she was graduated from Yakima Valley High School in 1927.
On June 15, 1930, she was married to Hiram S. Ward. They made their home at Ahtanum and in 1936, moved to Oroville. In 1959, they moved to Chelan.
Mr. Ward preceded her in death in 1982.
Survivors include a son, Larry Ward and his wife, Lori of Monitor; two daughters, Betty Marsh and her husband, Don of Okanogan; Bernice McCulley of Chelan; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Commemoration Services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Precht Rose Chapel with Donn Plew officiating. Interment was at Fraternal Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Eagles Scholarship Fund.
Services are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.

William F. 'Bill' Abeling
William F. "Bill" Abeling, 88, of Cashmere, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001. He was a lifetime resident of Cashmere and had been a fruit farm laborer.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Braun Funeral Home, 227 Cottage Ave., Cashmere. Arrangements are by Braun Funeral Home, Cashmere.

Sonny Jim Hale
Sonny Jim Hale, 67, of Moses Lake, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
He was born in Ephrata and was a longtime resident of Moses Lake. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1969.
Survivors include his wife, Myong Cha Hale, of Moses Lake; three sons, David Hale and James Hale, both of Moses Lake, and Tracy Hale of Spokane; a daughter, Sukie Marchand of Wenatchee; and two brothers, Jerry Hale of Alabama and Robert Hale of California.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Kayser's Chapel of Memories, Pastor Kevan Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Kayser's Chapel of Memories, Moses Lake.

Zona Campbell King
Zona Campbell King, 98, of Tonasket, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001.
She lived in Wenatchee for 50 years before moving to Tonasket. She had been a housewife. Survivors include a son, Robert Campbell of Henderson, Nev.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Arrangements are by Jones and Jones Funeral Directors, Wenatchee.

Alison Mely McCroskey
Alison Mely McCroskey, was stillborn Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Central Washington Hospital.
Survivors include her parents, Dan and Marites McCroskey of Wenatchee; two half-sisters, Marianne Nebel and Danielle McCroskey; and her grandmother, Lavonne McCroskey.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Jones and Jones Funeral Directors, Wenatchee.

LouVern Norred
LouVern Norred, 91, of Entiat, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001.
She had lived in Entiat for three years and had worked as a medical record keeper.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose Mary Wilson of Entiat.
Private services will be held in Texas at a later date. Arrangements are by American Burial and Cremation Service, Wenatchee.

Robert W. Pearson
Robert W. Pearson, 80, of Quincy, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at his daughter's home in Quincy. He had worked as a chemical engineer for Convair in San Diego, Calif., and for McDonnell Douglas in Monrovia, Calif. He moved to Quincy in 1972 and had owned and operated a farm and orchard until retiring in 1975.
Survivors include a son, Richard E. Pearson of Lakewood; and a daughter, Gail E. Evans of Quincy.
Private family inurnment services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel, Quincy.

Gilbert D. 'Gil' Stewart
Gilbert D. "Gil" Stewart, 48, of Crescent Bar, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Central Washington Hospital.
He had lived in the Quincy area for 24 years and had managed the Crescent Bar Inc. Recreational Area.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Stewart of Quincy; two sons, Derek Stewart and Tyler Stewart of Quincy; his parents, Gil and Lois Stewart of Quincy; four brothers, Michael Stewart of Renton, Ron Stewart of Everett, and Bob Stewart and John Stewart, both of Sultan; and two sisters, Signe Casebur of Renton and Sue Powers of Porterville, Calif.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Quincy. Arrangements are by Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel, Quincy.
