NEWTON - Services for Jonathon Michael Rowzee will be held today at 2 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Bill Boykin and Scott Gillion officiating. Burial will be in Pine Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Rowzee, 20, of Newton, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Clarke County. He was employed as the meat market manager at Griffin Big G's and was a member of Calvary Height's Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father, Keith Rowzee, his stepmother, Kathy Rowzee, and a stepsister, Mandy Willis, all of Denham Springs, La.; his maternal grandmother, Dot Gibbs Gould of Newton; two aunts, Kitty Gibbs and Tammy Little, both of Newton; three uncles, Chuck Little and W.C. Chapman and his wife, Laverne, all of Newton, and Earl Rowzee and his wife, Sharon, of Baton Rouge, La.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie Rae Gibbs Rowzee.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Thweatt, Steven Leggett, Shon Little, Eric Rowzee, Douglas Mayes and Wallace Mayes.

WALTER CLIFTON DANSBY

QUITMAN - Services for Walter Clifton Dansby will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Marcus Peagler officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mr. Dansby, 87, of Quitman, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Sue Wiggins of Meridian; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gradie Pearl Dansby, and a son, Danny Dansby.

JAMES EDWARD TANNER JR.

NEWTON - Services for James Edward Tanner Jr. will be held today at 4 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Dr. Frank Harmon and Curtis Cain officiating. Burial will be in Newton Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Tanner, 78, of Newton, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at Riley Hospital in Meridian. He owned Tanner Grocery and Meat Market for 48 years. He was a member of Newton United Methodist Church, the VFW and the American Legion. Mr. Tanner was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army in Europe for four years as a military policeman and two years after the war in Germany. He was an avid sportsman and better known by friends as "Tuff Meat Tanner."
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Charlene Putnam Tanner of Newton; two daughters, Nancy Crisco and her husband, Charlie, of Brandon, and Amy McClellan and her husband, Danny, of Tupelo; a son, Jimmy Tanner and his wife, Dede, of Forest; two sisters, Mary Lewis Bush of Laurel and Juliette Brown of Purvis; a brother, Joe Tanner of Sarasota, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Lane McClellan and Kristeen McClellan, both of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Tanner.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 2178, Ridgeland, MS 39158 or a favorite charity.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Mason, Buddy Weatherford, Aaron Barnett, David Kelly, Hamp Beatty and Stuart Tune.

KATHERINE C. HESTER

Graveside services for Katherine C. Hester will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery, with the Rev. James Ruffin officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hester, 74, of Meridian, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at The Speciality Hospital of Meridian. She was employed with Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center as a records clerk and as a teacher's assistant with Parkview Elementary.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Hester and Kay Hester, two sons, Eddy Hester and Tommy Hester, and her former husband and friend, Lamar Hester, all of Meridian; a sister, Dorothy Harter of Sarasota, Fla.; a brother, Ivan "Sonny" Chisolm of Jasper, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan C. and Alta Sikes Chisolm.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

ANDREW GROVER GAINEY JR.

BIRMINGHAM - Memorial services for Andrew Grover Gainey Jr. will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at South Highland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Gainey, 82, of Birmingham, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Georgene; four children, Michael Jean Lancaster of Chattanooga, Susan Gainey Vines of Birmingham, Dan Gainey of Birmingham and Matthew Gainey of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to the Andrew Gainey Scholarship Fund at Birmingham-Southern College.
Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Services for Willie R. Currie will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Phillip Memorial C.M.E. Church. Burial will be in Vine Street Cemetery with Hall and Jordan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Currie, 65, of Meridian, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in Sumter County, Ala.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Currie; four daughters, Sandra Goings, Angela Hicks, Bernadette Merchants and Hariett Fowler; a son, Willie R. Currie Jr.; eight sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home in Meridian.

Survivors include a son, Stevie Wright of Columbus; two sisters, Elva Nevins of Hamilton and Laverne Paster of Starkville; and a brother, Dewayne Wright of Cuba, Ala.

JAMES D. BUNYARD

SAN DIEGO, Calif. Services for James D. Bunyard will be held at a later date in San Diego. Greenwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bunyard, 70, of San Diego, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Inga Bunyard, a daughter, Tina Bunyard, and two sons, Jeff Bunyard and David Bunyard, all of San Diego; and a brother, Gene Bunyard of Meridian, Miss.

MARTHA LOU STEVENS
Services for Martha Lou Stevens will be held today at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Moscow with the Rev. Billy R. Lyles officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stevens, 54, of DeKalb, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at her home. She was a factory worker.
Survivors include her husband, Otis L. Stevens of DeKalb; five daughters, Helen Davis and her husband, Hubert, and Shirley Stevens and Darlene Stevens, all of DeKalb, Mary Rush and her husband, Frank, of Porterville, and Delores Willard and her husband, Dennis, of Norfolk, Va.; two sons, Henry Stevens of DeKalb, and Earnest Stevens of Woodville; 14 grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

NELLIE GRAY SHEPHERD
BUTLER, Ala. Services for Nellie Gray Shepherd will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Ulcanush Baptist Church in Coffeeville with the Rev. Jessie Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Ulcanush Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Miss Shepherd, 76, of Coffeeville, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at Washington County Infirmary in Chatom.
Survivors include two sister, Bessie Mae Autry and Elray Sellers, both of Coffeeville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6-9 p.m. and Monday beginning at 11 a.m. at Ulcanush Baptist Church.

MELVIN SALLEY
EUPORA Services for Melvin Salley will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Oliver Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. William S. Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Edgeworth Cemetery.
Mr. Salley, 91, of Marion, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at Benchmark Health Care in Marion.
Survivors include two daughters, Willie Helen Nason and her husband, Bernard, of Warsaw, Ill., and Betty Ann Williams, and her husband, Charles, of Aberdeen; a son, Dr. Dennis E. Salley and his wife, Carolyn, of Meridian; a sister, Annie O'Neal of Hazelhurt; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Exa Omedelle Land Salley.
Visitation will be today from 4:30-9 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.

Mrs. Moore, 78, of Meridian, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Meehan Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gene "Ray" Moore of Meridian; two sons, Gordon L. Ward and his wife, Norma J., of Huntsville, Ala., and Johnny Moore of Dalewood; two daughters, Sheri Whelchel and her husband, Scott, of Suwanee, Ga., and Christy Moore of Chunky; a brother, Henry Gordon Chestnut and his wife, Nita, of Elba, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Michael L. Ward, Gregory L. Ward, Danny Gullatt, Dana Varcoe and Kristen, Andy and Ryan Moore; two great-grandchildren, Christian Taylor and Nikki Kuzy.

Mrs. Singleton, 82, of Brandon, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Rankin Medical Center in Brandon.
Survivors include a son, Bobby R. Ellis of Ridgeland; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Thornton, 85, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at Newton Regional Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Berry McClain of Chicago; two sons, Walter Jones Jr. and his wife, Cora, of Saginaw, Mich., and Charles Metcalf Sr. and his wife, Jean, of Palm Springs, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie L. Johnson of Laurel; and four sisters, Ruby Lee Johnston of Starkville, Carmen Livingston of Lillian, Ala., Gwendolyn Johnson and Carleen Grafton, both of Laurel.

Services for Kayla Ann White will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Glen McCloud officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Kayla, 3, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, in Meridian. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Quitman.
Survivors include her parents, Michael and Angela White of Meridian; her paternal grandparents, Michael White of Monroe, La. and Vickie Gavin of the Soso Community; her maternal grandparents, Patty and Dallas Beecham of New Albany; paternal great-grandparents, the Rev. Samuel D. White and Naomi of Meridian; her maternal great-grandparents, Cecil and Ruby Weaver of Bristol, Va.; her paternal great-grandparents, Sam and Betty Warren of Ellisville; her maternal great-grandmother, Louise Moore of Bristol; her great-great-grandmother, Inez Tucker of Mt. City, Tenn.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mr. Mosley, 73, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Earline Mosley of Meridian; two sons, Otis Mosley of California and Charles Boyd of Maine; four daughters, Dorothy Clayton and Joyce Watson, both of Meridian, Mary Johnson of New Orleans and Dianne Burns of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Clarence Mosley of Slidell, La.; three sisters, Marie Dungy, Elsie Nunn and Catherine Burks, all of Meridian; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Mosley, and his mother, Ethel Mosley.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. McClendon, 69, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Glasper of Atlanta and Ruby Grant of Meridian; a sister, Desree Roberts; two brothers, Walter Moore and his wife Pearl of Anderson, Ind. and T.C. Moore of Meridian; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
