Services for George H. Williamson will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Skelton officiating. Burial will be in forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Williamson, 78, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice. He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service. Mr. Williamson was a member of the Fleet Reserve and Chosenz Few while serving in the Korean War, where he received a purple heart.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys L. Williamson of Meridian; three daughters, Ann L. Wright of Fayetteville, N.C., Elizabeth M. Davis of Savannah, Ga. and Sheila G. Leger of Summerville, S.C.; two sons, George M. Williamson of Crestview, Fla. and Jeff H. Williamson of Meridian; a sister, Delores Shirley of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a brother, Cecil Williamson of Florence, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
Pallbearers will be members of the Fleet Reserve.

Mrs. Hastings, 81, of Quitman, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at Lakeside Living Center in Quitman. She was a lifelong member of Meridian Seventh Day Adventist Church and a lifelong resident of the Enterprise community. She was a retired office worker from Burlington Industries.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Hastings Stephens of Equality, Ala., and Rebecca Riley Miller of Rose Hill; a step-daughter, Marva Rie Hastings Erwin of Bogue Chitto; and three sisters, Elizabeth Hancock of Meridian, Maurene Hutcherson of Lauderdale, and Carol Seibert of Alberta, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pascal Clegg Sr. and Lillie Mae Cross Clegg.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monroe. She was very active in her church, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was an avid bridge player, golfer and traveler.
Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews; and a caretaker and friend, Sarah Norwood of Monroe.
