Perry Leigh Rogers
Perry Rogers was born Nov. 4, 1926, in Spokane, Wash., to Harry and Thelma Rogers, and died Dec. 11, 2003, at his home in Tualatin. He was 77.
He worked with his father in a Cinnabar-Mercury mine. When he was 19, he moved to Coos Bay, where he worked in the woods as a logger. Later he worked in a chain saw shop in Coos Bay.
In 1959, he married Louise Sommerville, she preceded him in death in 1978. He was also preceded in death by his stepson, Roger Blomquist.
He moved to Tigard in 1966, and Tualatin in 1975. He worked for C.W.S. in Portland as a machinist — later it changed its name to Sulser-Escher-Weis.
Survivors include his daughter, Terrie L. Jones and husband Dale of Olympia, Wash.; son, Skip Blomquist and wife Char of Salem; sister, Darlene Gilberson and husband Lloyd of Tigard; friend May DeVries of Tillamook; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Dec. 19 at Crescent Grove Cemetery in Tigard. Memorial services were at the Neighborhood Church in Oregon City.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tigard Covenant Church, which he attended faithfully.
Arrangements were in care of Young’s Funeral Home in Tigard.

Julie Lynn Joslyn
Julie Lynn Joslyn, 41, of Manzanita died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at Providence Hospital in Seaside.
Julie was born Aug. 2, 1962, in Sacramento, Calif., the daughter of Colin and Peggy Handforth. Her friends and family are celebrating the life of Julie who spent most of her life on the Oregon Coast. She attended Neah-Kah-Nie Junior and Senior High School and graduated in 1980.
She worked for Handforth, Larson & Barrett from 1978-1991. In 1991, she joined the team at the Hallmark Resort in Cannon Beach and was in her 13th year of loyal dedication. She worked from the ground up in the housekeeping department and then was promoted to assistant to the general manager in her final years of employment.
She enjoyed the company of her pet Corgi, Gracie, and cat, Brie. Julie spent her time taking care of those around her, most importantly her three nieces, Angela, Kari and Bethany, who filled her life with joy.
Her generous and loving nature was always apparent in her interaction with those around her.
A memorial celebration was held Jan. 24 at the Hallmark Resort in Cannon Beach.

Leonard H. Wilson
Leonard Harris Wilson of Corvallis died Jan. 23, 2004, at Samaritan Heart of the Valley Care Center. He was 100.
He was born July 25, 1903, in Devon, Kan., to William and Dora (Gunsaullus) Wilson. He married Iola Mae Rhoda Aug. 12, 1926, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
A Corvallis resident since 1937, Mr. Wilson for many years was a plumber associated with Robinett’s Hardware.
He was an avid fisherman and loved to travel with his wife. He was a life member of the Elks and Moose lodges and was a member of Corvallis First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are son Ken of Tillamook, seven granddaughters, one grandson and several great-grandchildren.
His wife, Iola, died May 29, 1992. He was also preceded in death by sons Richard and David Wilson, two brothers and two sisters.
A private family graveside service was held at Oak Lawn Memorial Park. A memorial service was held Jan. 27 at Samaritan Village, 285 N.W. 35th St. McHenry Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Gordon (Gordy) Wayne Anderson
Gordon (Gordy) Wayne Anderson was born in Lisbon, N.D., June 24, 1932, and died Dec. 17, 2003, at 71 years of age.
He had been a resident of Spokane, Wash., for 53 years.
He graduated from Eastern Washington University with a degree in earth science. He taught school for 26 years.
Prior to Gordon’s teaching career, he served a four-year term in the U.S. Navy.
Gordon enjoyed spending his summers and holidays at his Cape Meares cabin, where he and his wife and daughter vacationed for 32 years.
He enjoyed the outdoors, and was an avid reader. He was always helping someone, and was always full of energy. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie of 34 years; his daughter, Kari and her husband Tom Moore of Spokane, Wash.; six sisters and two brothers.
Gordon was the youngest of 11 children.
