Mr. Lenzer died Jan. 29.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Lenzer; two sons, David Lenzer and William Lenzer; step-daughter, Renee Redfern; step-son, Andrew Thomas; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Sherry Balou, Paulette Lenzer, Mallien Allen and Jane Lenzer; one brother, Herbert Lenzer, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lillie Lenzer.

Bruce Webb
Funeral services for Bruce Webb, 90, were held Feb. 2, 2004, at the First Assembly of God Church in Lavon. Interment

Mr. Webb died Jan. 30 at his home after a battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 9, 1913.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Helen Gracy Webb; daughters, Venita NeSmith, Shirley Kneggs and Sue Lawson; sister, Evelyn Hood; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
“He was a Godly, loyal and loving man,” according to family members.

Norma Louise Shillinglaw
Funeral services for Norma Louise Shillinglaw, 64, of Plano, were held Jan. 26, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church of Plano.
Mrs. Shillinglaw died Jan. 23.
She was born Jan. 27, 1939, in Candler, N.C., to William and Carrie Boyd.
After working two jobs to pay her way though college, she began a teaching career in Maryland in 1961. Her passion in life was teaching, and she touched countless youth during her 34-year tenure as a high school math teacher in Dallas ISD. As a child in rural North Carolina, she worked on her family’s farm and in high school became a star basketball player on the 1957 State Championship team.
Recently her hobbies included playing slot machines and focusing on her investment club. Along with requiring her children to take extra math classes, she instilled the love of fine arts within her children through various music and dance lessons. According to family members, “her drive for achievement and compassion for others lives strong within her children.”
She is survived by her four children, Robert Gregory Shillinglaw, Teresa Lyn Rosario, Glen Tracy Shillinglaw and Tricia Shillinglaw Favre; one grandchild, Paul Joseph Rosario; sister, Marjorie Shotton of McKinney, and her brothers, Bill Boyd of Massachusetts and J.C. Boyd of Tennessee.

He was born Sept. 27, 1938, in Pottsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Johnson; his parents, Christian F. and Clarice Johnson; and four brothers, Curtis Wayne Johnson, Roy E. Johnson, Ray M. Johnson and Alton Johnson.
Survivors include his daughter, Lois J. Johnson McGee; son-in-law, Gary McGee; granddaughter, Jennifer Lois McGee and grandson, Christian Don McGee.

Survivors include his daughter, Carla Rushing of McKinney; sons, Gene Chenault and Kyle Chenault, both of Allen; sisters, Jessie Mae Hollinburg of Clarksville, Ark., Charollte Callaway of Lynchburg, Va. and Patricia Chenault of San Antonio; brother, Lloyd Chenault of Texarkana, Ark. and seven grandchildren.
Cecilia Ellen Trammell
Funeral services for Cecilia Ellen Trammell, 96, were held Jan. 14, 2004, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington.

Mrs. Trammell died Jan. 11 in Arlington.
She was born in Wylie and was a realtor for 20 years, retiring from American Real Estate.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry O. Trammell and his wife Charlsey of Brooksville, Fla. and Jim R. Trammell and his wife Eileen of Corpus Christi; daughters, Rita O. Cook and her husband Hilbert of Dallas and Phillis L. Warren and her husband Bernard of Arlington; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ernest O. Trammell in 1990, a son, Patrick Wayne Trammell and a daughter, Eleanor Mae Trammell.

James ‘Jim’ Wesley Setzer

Mr. Setzer died Jan. 11 in Plano.
He was born Nov. 17, 1921 in Talco to Wade and Anna (Woodle) Setzer. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a manager of administrative services for Braden Steel Corporation before his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wylie and a member of the Oklahoma Elks Association, Tulsa, Okla., Lodge #946.
As a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Elks Association, he held many offices including past state president, past state vice-president, past D.D.G.E.R. and P.E.R. He married the former Martha Coday in Disney, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Setzer of Wylie; children, Judy Fox of Tom Ball, Patti Anderson of Irving, Larry Tooker of Fairview, Tom Tooker of Escondido, Calif. and Don Tooker of Frisco; sister, Peggy Schweizer of Port Saint Joe, Fla.; brother, Wayne Setzer of Spokane, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine; his parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Elizabeth Kruse

Mrs. Kruse died Jan. 12 at her home.
She was born April 19, 1916, in Amarillo to William Lee and Ada (Whooten) Vansickle. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wylie and a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her sister, Stella Thomas.

Oliver Edward West
Funeral services for Oliver Edward West, 77, of McKinney, were held Jan. 16, 2004, at Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Blue Ridge.

was Jan. 17 in Zion Hill Cemetery in Jasper.
Mr. West died Jan. 14 in Plano.
He was born in Sept. 2, 1926 in Kirbyville.
He served as a cook in the U.S. Army during the Asian/Pacific War and his love of cooking continued throughout his life. He retired from the automobile industry after 45 years due to illness from cancer. He was an active member of The Crossroads Presbyterian Church in the Community of Desert in Blue Ridge.
Survivors include three daughters, Darla Theis of McKinney, Tricia Lopez of Carrollton and Mona West of Mesquite; son, Mike West of Santa De, N.M.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, Faye Dilbeck of Tennessee and brother, Jesse “J.C.” West of Brookeland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse West and Minnie West-Turner, and two sisters, Peraldine West and Dorothy West.
Todd Allen Douthit

Betty Lee Woodworth

She was born March 18, 1937, in Kellerton, Iowa, to Harvey Louis and Mary Ellen (Bixby) Spillman.
She was an administrative assistant with IDB Systems before her retirement, and a member of the Restoration Branch of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She married Delbert Woodworth on March 31, 1959, in Denver Colo.
Survivors include her husband, Delbert Woodworth of St. George, Kan.; daughters, Shari Woodworth of St. George, Kan., Lori Woodworth of Wylie, and Kathleen Woodworth of Riley, Kan.; mother, Mary Spillman of Lamoni, Iowa; sister, Shirley Edgerton of Lamoni, Iowa; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He had retired from telecommunications industry where he was a sales representative. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wylie.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Yvonne Joyce (Wilkey) Moody of Wylie; sons, Dan Allen Moody of Ringold, Okla., Dennis Alan Moody of Wylie and Darrell Arthur Moody of Tulsa, Okla.; brothers, William Fredrick Moody, Jr. of Scottsdale, Ariz., Thomas Joseph Moody of Globe, Ariz. and Carl Allen Moody of Medford, Ore.; sisters, Margaret Ellen Delameter of Ventura, Calif. and Dolores Nelle Hoff of Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Frances L. McCullough

She was born May 17, 1921, in Altoga to Joe and Mammie Akin Thomas. She married William Dallas McCullough in Durant, Okla., on Nov. 17, 1949. She was a seamstress for Haggar’s and member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her son, Charles McCullough of Palestine; grandchildren, Ben Davidson of Farmersville, Stacy Flannigan of Brooklyn, N.Y., Donie Davidson of Augusta, Ga., and Mark McCullough of Garland; 10 grandchildren; niece, Frances Simmons of Wylie; and nephew, David Andrews of Wylie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas, in November 2003 and her son, Don Davidson.

Justine Palmer Douglas

Mrs. Douglas died Jan. 2 in Allen following a short illness.
She was born June 4, 1913, in Murchison to Arthur Hughs and Mary Hobbs Palmer. She grew up in the Murchison/Martins Mill area.
She married Washington Coker Douglas in 1930 and for many years they followed his work in the oil business. They settled in Athens in 1957 where they lived for 38 years. She had many interests which included ceramics, gardening and reading and she was active in the community, according to her family.
She was a past member of the Athens Literary Club and president of the Athens Garden Club.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Athens.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Floyd T. Steward of Grand Saline and Susan and Fred Bivins of Wylie; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Sandy Douglas of Sawyer, Mich., and Coker Douglas of Irving; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Washington Coker “Doug” Douglas in 2001 and a son, Danny Gene Douglas in 1966.

Rick Newman Perry
Funeral services for Rick Newman Perry, 45, of Wylie, were held Jan. 9, 2004, at Windom Baptist Church in Windom.
Mr. Perry died Jan. 5 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
He was born Oct. 23, 1958, in Fort Worth to Roy and Dorris Perry.
He and his younger brother owned and operated a water meter business in Wylie for the past 12 years. According to his family, he enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid bicycle rider and member of the Plano Bicycle Association.
He graduated from Southwest High School in Fort Worth in 1977 and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Survivors include his parents, Roy and Dorris Perry of Windom; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rhonda and Richard Aubuchon of Fort Worth and Robin and Christian Metten of Dallas; brother, Randal Perry of Wylie; nieces and nephew, Emily, Kimberly and Matthew Aubuchon and Maggie Metten; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Newman and Christene Perry of Windom and Eli and May Jane Allen of Petty.

She was born Feb. 12, 1942, in Longview to Zelmer Clyde and Margie (Sharp) Story. She was a production planner for Rockwell before retiring and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Wylie.
Survivors include her daughters, Melanie Pollan of Pottsboro and Kellie Means of Durant, Okla.; brothers, Kenneth Story of Garland and Dale Story of Copeville; sisters, Jean White of Merritt and Judy Moore of Merritt; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Mr. Wooten died Dec. 30 in Wylie.
He was born Dec. 4, 1940, in Memphis to Mrs. Ola Mae Bishop Wooten and the late J. H. Wooten. He graduated from high school in Memphis and attended Draughon’s Business College in Amarillo. He was married on Nov. 15, 1959, to Linda Rea and in 1989 moved to Wylie from Vernon.
He was a fleet manager for Steakley Chevrolet and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his mother, Ola Mae Wooten of Memphis; three sons, Kirk A. Wooten of Vernon, Jayme G. Wooten of Leakey and Justin D. Wooten of Plano; one daughter, Lori Strickland of Vernon; one brother, J.R. Wooten of Barstow; one sister, Wanda Melton of Memphis; and five grandchildren, Alyssa Wooten, Dylan Strickland, Katelyn Wooten and Kirstie Wooten, all of Vernon, and Cody Wooten of Leakey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, on Nov. 24, 2003. He was also preceded by his father, and one brother, Glen Wooten.

Richard Wright Benedict
Funeral services for Richard Wright Benedict, 66, of Sachse, were held Jan. 5, 2004, at the Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Benedict died Jan. 1 in Sachse.
He was born Sept. 17, 1937, in Detroit, Mich. “Dick,” as he was known to friends, spent many years in the telecom industry before retiring due to illness. He was an avid golfer and hunter who always had a story to tell. He enjoyed being a marshall at Woodbridge Golf Course. According to his family, he never met a stranger and was quick to join a conversation or debate.
He served in the United States Navy following the Korean War and held numerous leadership positions with the AFL-CIO, Communication Workers of America and Boy Scouts. He served as a local soccer and football coach for many years.
Mr. Benedict was instrumental in overseeing the first year operations of the Sachse Youth Community Center and served on the City of Sachse’s Planning and Zoning Commission. “His insight, advice and friendship will be missed by all who knew him,” his family said.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, June Benedict; family, Richard A. and Katie Benedict, Paul and Susan Benedict, Craig and Suzanne Coker, John and Rachel Benedict, Matt and Kristen Lyons; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.
Arrangements were under the direction of Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
