Ethel L. Lechleitner
TOWER CITY - Ethel L. Lechleitner, 89, of Wiconisco Avenue, died July 1 at the Wesley Village in Pittston.
Born Aug. 27, 1917 in Elizabethville, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Katherine Kohler Warfield.
She was a retired seamstress from the former Bestok factory.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Tower City.
She was the widow of John Lechleitner. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Yeager and Dorothy Forney.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara D. Frew of Avoca and Kathy L. Lechleitner of Tower City; a brother, James Warfield of Halifax; four granddaughters; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the convenience of the family. Burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery in Elizabethville.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: Tower City Fire Co., 124 East Grand Avenue, Tower City 17980.
Dimon Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Josephine Flohr
PITMAN - Josephine Flohr, 95, formerly of Halifax, died June 26 at the Friendly Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 23, 1911 in Turtle Creek, she was the daughter of the late Robert Figard and Magdeline Boosic Figard.
She was a retired waitress.
She was the widow of William Flohr.
Surviving are a son, Noble; a sister, Roberta O'Shell of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the convenience of the family.

Annette Kathryn Weist
MILLERSBURG - Annette Kathryn Weist, 92, of The Manor at Susquehanna Village, formerly of Fleetwood, died July 4 at The Manor.
Born July 21, 1914 in Valley View, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Fronie Klinger Kessler.
She was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp. High School.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving are a nephew, Eugene Stutzman of Sebring, Fla. and four nieces, Annabelle Minnich of Hegins, Phyllis Ressler of Valley View, Jeanette Zerbe of Valley View and LaRae "Mitzie" Scheib of Millersburg.
Services were held July 7 at the Church of God Cemetery in Valley View.

William Edward "Bill" Leitzel
HERNDON - William Edward "Bill" Leitzel, 66, of RR 2 Box 1720, died July 3 at his residence.
Born July 22, 1940 in Klingerstown, he was the son of the late Fred and Hattie Bordner Leitzel.
He was employed at Bethlehem Steel and was a retired plant manager at Metal Industries in Hegins.
He was a 1958 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Urban, the Lower Northumberland County Area Senior Action Center, a social member of the Alvin E. Long American Legion Post No. 504 of Herndon, a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 702 F&AM of Herndon, the Lower Mahanoy Fire Company and the Herndon Fire Company.
He was the widower of Phyllis Ferster Leitzel. He also was preceded in death by a son, Scott Leitzel, a sister, Romaine Botts and two brothers, Fred Jr. and James Leitzel.
Surviving are a companion, Judy Strohecker of Herndon; two sons, Eddie Leitzel of Dalmatia and Todd Leitzel of Quicksburg, Va.; three daughters, Brenda Dane of Dalmatia, Lisa Bohner of Halifax and Cindy Troutman of Dalmatia; two sisters, Sue Lebo of Elizabethville and Jo Hefron of Minersville; two brothers, Dr. Robert Leitzel of Millersburg and Lynn Leitzel of Elizabethville; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held July 7 at St. Paul's UCC. Burial was at Northumberland Memorial Park in Stonington.

James E. D. Lubold
TREMONT - James E. D. Lubold, 59, of the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Hegins, died July 4 at the center.
Born June 26, 1948 in Williamstown, he was the son of the late Elmer and Ruth Lubold.
He was a former member of the Hegins fire police.
Surviving are aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were held July 9 at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home. Burial was at the Williamstown Methodist Cemetery.

Elsie M. Unger
TOWER CITY - Elsie M. Unger, 77, of 1474 Madison Avenue, died July 4 at her home.
Born June 15, 1930 in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Roby and Nola Jones.
She was a retired seamstress from the garment factory.
She was of the protestant faith.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons.
Surviving are her children, James M. Unger and Judy A. Davis, both of Enola, Joyce G. Unger of Florida and Jerry L. Unger of Tower City; two brothers, J.D. Jones of North Carolina and Garney Jones of Virginia; a sister, Dorothy Winsor of Maryland; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were private. Burial was at the Fairview Cemetery in Williamstown.
Dimon Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Edward L. Smith
HALIFAX - Edward L. Smith, 64, of 424 Market Street, died July 7 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born Sept. 23, 1942 in Halifax, he was the son of Verna I. Lowe Smith of Halifax and the late Marlin C. Smith.
He worked as a custodian for MI Windows in Elizabethville.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Faye E. Zimmerman Smith.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 11 at 11 a.m. at Hoover Funeral Homes in Millersburg. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Halifax United Methodist Cemetery.

Paul F. Keefer
HALIFAX - Paul F. Keefer, 89, formerly of Millersburg, died July 5 at Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg.
Born April 23, 1918 in Millersburg, he was the son of the late John and Lizzie Yingst Keefer.
He was a retired farmer and a sales representative for Eastern States and Agway.
He was the widower of Mary Ruth Bechtel Keefer. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Luke and two sisters, Irene Etzweiler and Grace Lenker.
Surviving are two sons, Paul Keefer, Jr. and Gregg Keefer; two brothers, J. Edgar Keefer and Earl Keefer, a sister Miriam Witmer; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 9 at Hoover Funeral Homes in Millersburg.

Jack Cliff Minnich
GRATZ - Jack Cliff Minnich, 51, of 5668 Route 25, died July 6 at his residence.
Born May 1, 1956 in Millersburg, he was the son of the late Ceylon J. and Miriam E. Pinkerton Minnich.
He worked for Bethlehem Steel in Steelton.
He was a social member of the Wiconisco Fire Co. and Herndon Fire Co. and member of the American Motorcycle Association.
He was the widower of Carol Ann Borger Minnich. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Snyder.
Surviving are a son, Kurt Minnich of York; a stepson, Wayne Wilson of Harrisburg; a daughter, Jacklyn "Mae" Minnich of Harrisburg; a brother, Michael Minnich of Millersburg; and three sisters, Judy Zimmerman, Linda Aukstakalnis and Dawn Raho, all of Williamstown.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 11 at 11 a.m. at Hoover Funeral Homes in Elizabethville. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Berrysburg.

George Raudenbush
TOWER CITY - George Raudenbush, 94, of Clarks Valley Road, died July 6 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 21, 1913 in Tower City, he was the son of the late Harry and Jennie Evans Raudenbush.
He was a graduate of the former Tower City High School.
He was retired from the Army Depot in Middletown.
He was the widower of Mary Herb Raudenbush. He also was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty, Helen and Ruth Raudenbush and three brothers, Harry, Charles and Ray Raudenbush.
Surviving are a son, Dion of Arkansas; a brother, Robert Raudenbush of Tower City; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Nancy L. Zimmerman
HALIFAX – Nancy L. Zimmerman, 60, of South Union Street, died Sept. 30 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born Feb. 10, 1947 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of Geraldine Leitzel Welker of Millersburg and the late Elwood Welker.
She worked for the former Willits shoe factory in Halifax.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, William Zimmerman; two sons, Robert L. Fite of Halifax and Jeff A. Welker of Pennsylvania; two stepsons, Micky D. Zimmerman of Elizabethville and William Zimmerman II of Carlisle; two sisters, Kay Millard of Halifax and Judy Strayer of Etters; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 3 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes in Elizabethville. Burial was at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax.

Charles R. Anderson
MILLERSBURG – Charles R. Anderson, 49, died Oct. 1 at Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
Born Nov. 16, 1957 in York County, he was the son of Viola "ley" Delp of Wellsville and the late John H. Anderson.
He worked as a triaxle truck driver for Krall's Inc. in Rossville and an heavy equipment operator for Meckley's Limestone in Herndon.
He was a member of Franklintown Fire Co. and fire police and AFMA and CPCA square dancers associations.
He was preceded in death by a half-brother, John H. Anderson, Jr.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Linda Anderson; a stepdaughter, Marcie Sabolsky of Halifax; a stepson, Corey Dorman of Dillsburg; a sister, Barb Kennedy of Dover; a half-sister, Darlene Haus of Georgetown, Del.; three half-brothers, Jim Anderson of Wellsville, Ed Snellbaker of Colorado and Ray Snellbaker of Texarkana, Tex.; and a step-granddaughter.
Services were held Oct. 6 at Grace United Methodist Church in Millersburg.

William M. Brosius
MILLERSBURG – William M. Brosius, 69, of 902 Meadow Lane, died Oct. 1 at his residence.
Born Jan. 15, 1938 in Gratz, he was the son of the late John Brosius and the late Jennie Reed.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He retired from Chromalloy in Harrisburg.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Gratz VFW and American Legion No. 326.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Kessler Brosius; three daughters, Christine Feidt of Millersburg, Cathie Realmuto of Stafford, Va. and Caryn Karl of Dauphin; a son, Brian Brosius of Pine Grove; a brother, Lamar Brosius of Millersburg; a sister, Elaine Artz of Elizabethville; and 10 grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 4 at Grace United Methodist Church in Millersburg. Burial was at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax.

Dora T. Klinger
ELIZABETHVILLE – Dora T. Klinger, 85, of 18 West Broad Street, died Oct. 2 at The Manor at Susquehanna Village in Millersburg.
Born Dec. 25, 1921 in Valley View, she was the daughter of the late Sadie Shomper.
She was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church in Gratz.
She was the widow of George Klinger.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Kritzer of Port Trevorton; two sons, Gary Shade of Halifax and David Shade of Millersburg; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 4 at James A. Reed Funeral Home in Pillow. Burial was at the convenience of the family.

Leon A. Johnson, Jr.
WILLIAMSTOWN – Leon A. Johnson, Jr., 58, died Oct. 3 at Manor Care in Pottsville.
Born April 22, 1949, he was the son of the late Leon Sr. and Olive Johnson.
Surviving are three sisters, Sharon Coxhead of Wellsboro, Darlene Salada of Georgia and Lois Taylor of Williamstown.
Services were held Oct. 9 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Evelyn M. Brown
MILLERSBURG – Evelyn M. Brown, 91, died Oct. 3 at the Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born April 22, 1916 in Millersburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Klinger Henninger.
She worked for the former Muskin shoe factory.
She was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of Robert E. Brown. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Winifred Heim.
Surviving are a sister, Ethel Knaub of Camp Hill; a niece and two great-nephews.
Services were held Oct. 8 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes in Millersburg. Burial will be at David's Church Cemetery in Millersburg.

Marion W. Wessner
MUIR – Marion W. Wessner, 73, died Oct. 3 at the home of her daughter.
Born Nov. 16, 1933 in Hegins, she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Emma Hornberger Savidge.
She was a 1951 graduate of Porter Twp. High School.
She retired as the post master at the Muir Post Office.
She was a member of Grace E.C. Church in Muir and the Tower City Senior Citizens.
She was the widow of Leroy Wessner. She also was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Susan Wessner of Tower City and a grandson.
Services were held at 11 a.m. at the Methodist cemetery in Muir.

Henry "Butch" P. Maidenford
JOLIETT – Henry "Butch" P. Maidenford, 67, of 125 Main Street, died Oct. 5 at his residence.
Born Feb. 28, 1940 in Pine Grove, he was the son of the late Paul H. and Mary Weber Maidenford.
He was a 1958 graduate of Pine Grove High School.
He was employed as a coal miner and retired from Guilford Mills in Pine Grove where he was president of Local 1493 United Here of Guilford Mills.
He was a member of Mountaineer Archery Club and the Pine Grove Fish and Game.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Polly Kieffer, Maryanne Sattizan and Ruth Romberger.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Janet H. Lucas Maidenford; four sons, Bryan T. Maidenford of Pine Grove, Tim W. Maidenford of Joliett, Paul H. Maidenford of Joliett and Clint A. Maidenford of Williamstown; a daughter, Wendy M. Maidenford of Good Spring; five brothers, Eugene Maidenford, Albert Maidenford, Thomas Maidenford, Dennis Maidenford, all of Pine Grove and Steve Smith of Florida; three sisters, Dorothy Wessner of Colorado, Arlene Lucas of Joliett and Shirley Miller of Schuylkill Haven; and a granddaughter.
Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home in Valley View. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Wilmer W. "Buster" Harner
TOWER CITY – Wilmer W. "Buster" Harner, 73, of 171 West Maple Street, died Oct. 6 at home.
He was the son of the late Fred and Leona Koons Harner.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He was a retired coal miner.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Fred, a stepdaughter, Elaine McClain, four brothers, Earnest, Walter, Arlen and Marlin Harner, two sisters, Margaret Hause and Lillian Peterson and a grandson.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Lucas Harner; a stepson, Geary McClain of Lebanon; three daughters, Madelon of Tower City, Valerie Atwell of Missouri and Judy Adams of Orwin; two sisters, Eleanor Bound of Pottsville and Ethel Oxenrider of Tower City; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 12:30 p.m. at the chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes in Tower City. A viewing will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be at Ft. Indiantown Gap Cemetery.
