Carmella M. "Carmie" Adcock, 76, of 2558 Golden Drive, East Petersburg, PA, died Tuesday, February 13, 2001 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.
A homemaker, Carmie was the wife of Oreon M. "Odie" Adcock. They observed their 51st wedding anniversary on July 31, 2000.
Born in Painesville, Ohio, Carmie was the daughter of the late James and Virginia Millonzi Bonelli. She was a 1943 graduate from Harvey High School in Painesville, Ohio.
Carmie was a member of St. Richard's Catholic Church in Manheim. She devoted her life to her family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Robert J., married to Deborah E. James Adcock of Lititz; Michael S."Scott," married to Susan G. Lindberg Adcock and David P., married to Elizabeth A. Bachman Adcock both of York; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Mary Lakia of Houston, Texas.
Carmie was preceded in death by two sons, Oreon M. Adcock Jr. and Thomas R. "Rusty" Adcock; and three sisters, Antoinette Venice, Lucille Faroni, Francis Laing.

Blanche R. Baker, of 135 North Penn Street, Manheim, formerly of Peoria, Illinois, died Saturday, February 4, 2001 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, after a six-month illness.
A homemaker, Blanche was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim, and the Metamora Women's Club in Peoria.
Blanche loved the outdoors, animals and big-band music.
Born in Manheim, Blance was the daughter of the late Agnes Shelly Heisey Heagy and stepdaughter of the late Walter Heagy.
Blanche was married to Brook M. Baker for 58 years.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Rodney B., married to Penny Baker of San Diego, Calif., and Philip Wesley, married to Patricia Kelly Baker of McHenry, Ill.; a daughter, Donna Marie, married to Rick Schaidle of Manheim; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wallace, married to Betty Jo Heisey of Penryn, and Nevin Heagy of Lititz.
Blanche was preceded in death by a stepsister, Hilda Hershey.

BARNES, HENRY HEISEY, 82, of Manheim
Henry Heisey Barnes, 82, of 123 East Ferdinand Street, Manheim, died at Pleasant View Retirement Community on Friday morning, February 23, 2001 after a brief illness.
Henry worked for the former Raybestos Industries as a rubber mixer for 43 years retiring in 1983.
Henry was in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in the 313th Medical Battalion. He was also a member of the Hope Fire Engine and Hose Company #1 in Manheim.
Born in Rapho Township, Henry was the son of the late David M. and Cora Heisey Barnes.
Henry was married 63 years to Arlene Connelly Barnes.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Sandra B. Ruhl of Lititz; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Sara N. Becker, 91, of 809 West Sunhill Road, Manheim, died Tuesday night, February 20, 2001 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.
A homemaker, Sara helped her husband on the family farm.

In the early 1930's, Sara sang on a Harrisburg radio station with the Asia Quartet, which included her two brothers and a sister.
Sara enjoyed crocheting.
Born in Maytown, Sara was the daughter of the late Jacob E. and Annie Neidig Williams.
Her husband, Harry H. Becker, died in 1992.
Surviving are three daughters, Sara Jane, married to Cletus J. Weber, with whom she lived, and Eleanor I., married to Robert W. Ebersole, and Marian R., married to Richard G. Metzler, both of Manheim; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Martha Mumma of Quentin and Delilah, married to Harry Emenheiser of Mount Joy.
Sara was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Edmonds, Howard, auto auction worker
Howard A. "Hop" Edmonds, 83, of 401 Orchard Lane, Manheim, died unexpectedly of natural causes Tuesday night, February 20, 2001 at home.
Hop was a maintenance superintendent for the former Raymark Industries, Manheim, for 40 years. After retirement, Hop worked 20 years at Manheim Auto Auction.
A U.S. Army veteren, Hop served as a technical sergeant during World War II.
Edmonds was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Manheim, where he served as an elder on the church consistory.
Hop also served on the Manheim Water Authority and belonged to the 25 Year Club at Raymark Industries, Manheim Historical Society, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5956 and Ammon K. Gibble American Legion Post 419, both of Manheim.
Edmonds also was a member of Manheim Masonic Lodge 587, Free & Accepted Masons; Rajah Temple, Reading; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Lancaster Forest 27; Lancaster County Shrine Club; and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Lancaster.
Hop was the last surviving charter member of Stiegel Gun Club.
Born in Manheim, Hop was the son of the late Clare T. and Martha Allen Edmonds and the stepson of the late Lucy Edmonds.
His wife, Althea M. Myers Edmonds, died in 1988.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharyn L. married to Tim Lobst of Hagerstown, Md., one granddaughter, three great-grandchildren and 2 adopted grandchildren; a brother, Rick, married to Ferne Edmonds of New Holland; and a sister, Claire Shank of Mount Gretna.
Hop was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Fornoff and Ruth Thrift.

Born in Manheim, Edith was the daughter of the late Irvin Nauman and Elizabeth Weller Barto.

An avid reader, Anna also enjoyed crafts.
Born in Lancaster, Anna was the daughter of the late Harold and Edna Conrad Achey.
Her husband, Orville K. Geib, died in 1988.

Mary E. Good, age 92, of Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, PA, formerly of 184 Doe Run Road, Manheim, PA died Friday afternoon, February 9, 2001 at Community Hospital of Lancaster following a brief illness.
Mary was the widow of Earl R. Good who died on April 5, 1995. Born in Rapho Township she was the daughter of the late John and Mamie Gibble Geib.
Mrs Good was a member of White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim, PA. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband and also enjoyed cooking.
She had previously been employed as a telephone operator for Denver & Ephrata Telephone Company from 1942 to 1947. Following her employment there she worked for the former RCA retiring in 1974.
Mary is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers; David E. Geib and Charles R. Geib; and two sisters; Beulah Althouse and Helen Geib.

Jeanne M. Griffith, 77, of 100 Ridgewood Manor, Manheim, died at home Sunday, February 25, 2001 after an illness of several months.
Jeanne and her husband owned and operated the former Griffith's IGA store in Manheim from 1964-1986.
Prior to that, Jeanne was a secretary for the former Conestoga Traction Company now Conestoga Transportation Company.
Mrs. Griffith was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Manheim, where she was a member of the women's fellowship group.
Jeanne was a former member of the Lititz Springs Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
During World Warr II, Jeanne volunteered as a nurse's aide at the former St. Joseph Hospital. She also was a volunteer for the Manheim Meals on Wheels program and at the Nearly-Nu Thrift Shop.
Mrs. Griffith enjoyed reading and walking.
Born in Lancaster, Jeanne was the daughter of the late J. Atwood II and Darothy McDonnell Caldwell.
Jeanne was married 55 years on January 27 to Donald W. Griffith.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Scott A. of Elizabethtown and Craig L. married to Theresa M. Miciche Griffith of Manheim; a daughter Deborah L., married to Merv B. Brandt Jr. of Manheim; five grandchildren; a brother, J. Atwood Caldwell III of Lancaster; and a sister, Doris L. Pazakis of Lancaster.

Mary assisted her husband with his duties as deacon of Manheim Mennonite Church, where she was a member of the church's sewing circle.
Mary volunteered in the International Gift and Thrift Shop, Mount Joy, and at Mennonite Central Committee.
She enjoyed cooking, and plant and flower gardening.
Born in Paradise, Mary was the daughter of the late Jacob and Cora Eby Denlinger.
Mary was married 59 years in December to Lester M. Harnly.
