Charles H. Kreider, 73, of 1959 Valley View Road, Mount Joy, died of natural causes Saturday, February 2, 2002 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Before retiring in 1993, Charles was a dairy farmer on his family’s Mount Joy Township farm.
Charles was a member of Hammer Creek Mennonite Church in Lititz.
Born in Elizabeth Township, Charles was the son of the late Benjamin S. and Lizzie B. Huber Kreider.
Charles was married to Helen Bollinger Kreider for 50 years on April 15.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, C. Lynn, married to Ginnie G. Paulson Kreider of Elizabethtown, and Nevin L. of Lititz; three daughters, Laverne, married to Clair N. Oberholtzer of Elizabethtown, Sharon Weinhold of Lancaster and Nancy, married to Carl C. Douthit of York; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a step-granddaughter, five brothers, Wilmer H., married to Lois Kreider, and Landis H., married to Arlene Kreider, both of Elizabethtown, Paul H., married to Marian Kreider of Lititz, Benjamin H., married to Esther Kreider of Annville, and Earl H., married to Betsy Kreider of East Earl; and two sisters, Ruth H. Kreider of Lancaster and Ellen H., married to George Bennett of Lebanon.
Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd H. Kreider.

Rosanna H. Kreider, 88, formerly of Ironville and 1931 Willow Street Pike, died of natural causes Monday, January 14, 2002 at the Mennonite Home.
A homemaker, Rosanna was a member of Willow Street Mennonite Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and participated in the sewing circle.
Born in Kinzers, Rosanna was the daughter of the late Harry P. and Anna Mae Rutt Hershey.
Her husband, G. Frank Kreider, died in 1969.
Surviving are four sons, Kenneth H., married to Dorothy M. Ranck Kreider of Strasburg, Norman L., married to Orpha M. Hawthorne Kreider and G. Frank Jr., married to Barbara Myers Kreider, both of Lancaster, and James F., married to Elizabeth Naylor Kreider of Trout Run; two daughters, Janet E., married to Walter Harrison of La Jolla, California, and Linda M., married to Robert E. Keeport of Washington Boro; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold R., married to Ruth Hershey of Quarryville, and Richard R., married to Mary Ellen Hershey of Lancaster.

Charles G. Kulp, 76, of 2358 Mountain Road, Manheim, Pennsylvania died Saturday, January 5, 2002 at the Lebanon Veterans Medical Center, South Lebanon Township, following a brief illness.
Born in Union Square, Rapho Township, Pennsylvania, Charles was the son of the late Amos D. and Amelia Diffenderfer Kulp.
Charles was a car salesman for Kulps Used Cars in Manheim for 28 years from 1964 to 1990 before retiring in 1990. Previously, Charles owned and operated the Kulps Gulf Oil Service Station in Columbia from 1958 to 1964. He also was a house painter with his father for four years.
His wife, Fay D. Dennis, died November 10, 1990.
Charles was a U.S. Navy Veteran during World War II.
Charles was a member of Hope Episcopal Church in Manheim. He was a member of Elstonville Sportsman Association, Manheim VFW Post 5956, Germania Band Club and the U.S. Navy Club in Lebanon.
Charles enjoyed hunting and deer, bear and turkey hunting.
Charles also collected antique cars and was known for his Chevy II and Impalas Model A’s.
Charles is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Kulp of Laurel Maryland and L. Scott married to Jody Lynn Fry Kulp of Manheim; two daughters, Barbara A. married to Robert J. Fegley and Lydia L. married to Jeffrey E. Engle both of Manheim; six grandchildren; a brother, Amos married to Faye Kulp of Manheim and three sisters, Ruth married to David Shelly, Kathryn Ruhl both of Manheim and Alda Cowart of Penryn.
Charles was preceded in death by a son, Robert C. Kulp who died in 1990, two brothers, Harold and Marlin Kulp and a sister, Naomi Ruhl.

Ruth L. Landis, 89, of Landis Homes Retirement Community in Lititz, Pennsylvania, formerly of R.D.#1 in Manheim, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at the home where she lived since 1988 following a lengthy illness.
Born in Manheim, Pennsylvania, Ruth was the daughter of the late Harry and Annie Harnley Steinman.
A homemaker, Ruth was a member of the Lancaster Brethren in Christ Church.
Her husband, Clarence M. Landis died in March of 1986.
Surviving are two sons, Gordon S., married to Sarah “Sally” Good Landis of East Petersburg and Donald S., married to Judith Justice Landis of Millersville; three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and a brother, Howard Steinman of Ephrata Manor.

LeFevre, Justin, 17, CV football player
Justin Timothy LeFevre, 17, of 362 Sawmill Road, Strasburg and 2428 Stumptown Road, Bird-In-Hand, died Tuesday afternoon, January 15, 2002 at his father’s home after a long battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a cancerous tumor.
Justin was a junior at Conestoga Valley High School, where he was an inside linebacker with the football team. He previously was a running back and outside linebacker and participated in various intramural sports.
Conestoga Valley football coach, Gerad Novak gave Justin the game ball when the Buckskins defeated Elizabethtown on September 22, 2000. It was the first game ball Novak gave out during his tenure at Conestoga Valley.
Justin worked part-time at Dutch Wonderland.
An avid outdoorsman, Justin enjoyed the mountains, hunting, fishing, skiing, dirt-bike riding and traveling. He also enjoyed “hanging out” with his friends.
Born in Lancaster, Justin was the son of Timothy G., married to Terri A. Nolte Wertz, with whom he lived in Strasburg, and Jeanie S. LeFevre-Glick, married to Dean M. Glick, with whom he lived in Bird-In-Hand.
Surviving in addition to his parents and stepparents are a stepbrother, Charles D. Moncrief of Strasburg; paternal grandmother, Diane B. Wertz of Strasburg; and maternal grandparents, Lester J. and Shirley J. LeFevre of Lancaster.

Martin V. “Mots” “Marty” Myers, 77, of 75 Circle Drive, Manheim, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.
Marty retired in 1987 after more than 22 years as a supervisor in the machine shop of Fuller Company in Manheim.
A 1997 graduate of Lancaster Bible College and a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manheim, Marty served on the church council and was Sunday school superintendent, teacher for the Men’s Sunday school class and a commissioned Stephen Minister.
Marty volunteered in the Lancaster General Hospital recovery room.
A U.S. Army veteran, Marty served as a technician 4th grade during World War II.
A sports enthusiast, Marty enjoyed walking, running and a general individual physical fitness program for himself.
Born in Manheim, Marty was the son of the late Norman F. and Ella Mae Buchter Myers.
Marty was married 25 years in August to Linda A. Walters Myers.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Christopher S. of Salisbury, N.C.; three daughters, Denise L. Stouch of Lancaster, Rebecca Myers Tolle, married to Thaddeus Tolle of Exton, and Peggy S. Ronald E. “Punkin” Myers, 58 of 644 Lorraine Avenue, Manheim, died early Thursday morning, January 3, 2002 at home after a six-month battle with cancer.
Ronald was an assistant store manager for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board in Mount Joy until October. He previously worked for the Fuller Company in Manheim.
A U.S. Army veteran, Ronald served in Korea in 1963. He was a member of Manheim Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5956.
Ronald belonged to Ruhl’s United Methodist Church in Manheim where he served on the staff-parish relations ministry, was the offering and communion steward and was involved in the missions and ministry.
A 1961 graduate of Manheim Central High School, Ronald was an avid Manheim Central Barons football fan.
Ronald was awarded Eagle Scout.
He enjoyed lawn and yard work.
Born in Lancaster, Ronald as the son of the late Elwood B. and Elsie V. Weaver Myers.
Ronald was married 30 years on May 22, 2001 to Linda M. Ecenrode Myers.

Edgar was a U.S. Army veteran.
In his earlier years, Edgar played minor league softball for Kramer Corporation, Indianapolis.
An avid golfer, Edgar also was a Manheim Central Baron football fan.
Born in Lexington, Edgar was the son of the late Vernon C. and Lillie B. Columbia Parido.
Edgar was married 53 years in May to Ruby S. Spigle Parido.

Pauline V. Shutt, 83, of 113 West Colebrook Street, Manheim, died Sunday morning, January 27, 2002 at her home following a long illness.
A homemaker, Pauline was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church, Manheim and its women’s group. She also participated in the church’s music program.
Pauline volunteered at Mennonite Central Committee in Akron.
Other memberships included Manheim Historical Society, the Manheim Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5956 auxiliary, Stiegel Roses Senior Citizens Group of Manheim and Lititz Senior Center.
In her early years, Pauline worked at the former Consolidated Cigar Factory.
Pauline enjoyed folk, polka and square dancing with her husband and was a member of Dutchland Polkateers and Swing Through Square Dance clubs, both in Lititz.
An accomplished seamstress, Pauline also enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening.
Born in Lancaster, Pauline was the daughter of the late Carl and Grace Hecker Wolf.
Pauline was married 49 years to Clayton W. Shutt.
In addition to her husband, Pauline is survived by a son, Dennis C. of Kernersville, North Carolina; a daughter, Carol A., married to Donald L. Stoltz of Lebanon; a brother, Henry, married to Doris Wolf of Lancaster; and a sister, Elsie Horn of Lancaster.
Pauline was preceded in death by five brothers, Albert, Charles, Johnny, Herman and Theodore Wolf; and three sisters, her twin, Mary Guldin, Kathryn Mitterer and Margaret Wolf.

Martin D. “Marty” Snavely, 77, of 686 West High Street, Manheim, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Thursday afternoon, January 31, 2001 at Community Hospital of Lancaster following a brief illness.
Marty worked for 34 years for the former Fuller Company, Manheim as a wood pattern shop foreman, retiring in 1990. After retiring, Marty volunteered at Nearly-Nu Thrift, Manheim where he served as the president of the thrift shop.
Born in Mastersonville, Pennsylvania, Marty was the son of the late Jacob B. and Mary Ann Dourte Snavely.
Marty was married 54 years on May 31, 2001 to Vivian V. Williams Snavely.
Marty was a member of Manheim Grace Brethren Church, Manheim where he taught Sunday school in the 5th and 6th grades. He was a Awana Leader for 13 years and also a deacon at the church. Marty was also part of the church worship team and enjoyed leading the congregation in song.
Marty was the president of the former Pleasant Place School, Mastersonville where he coordinated class reunions for the school. Marty attended Pleasant Place School.
Marty graduated from McCaskey High in 1942.
Marty was in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a Chief Petty Third Class Officer where he served as an Aviation Metal Smith Third Class on the U.S.S. Essex during the Battle of Midway in the Pacific. List of service metals: American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one silver star and three bronze stars, Navy Occupation SVC Medal , Presidental Unit Citation Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two bronze stars, Honorable Service Lapel Button and the Navy Honorable Discharge Button.
Marty’s hobbies included woodworking, camping, fishing, bird-watching, helping people fix things, flower gardening and was a life-time member of the Thousand Trails, Lebanon.

Stuart W. Vosburg, 68, of 665 Green Ridge Drive, Manheim, died Wednesday afternoon, January 16, 2002 at home after a long illness.
Stuart was a plant production manager for several Air Products and Chemicals Inc. plants throughout the United States. He retired in 1993 after 37 years.
Stuart was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Sta. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Manheim.
A member of Endless Mountains Tractor Association, Stuart attended the annual tractor show in Meshoppen, taking first place in July.
His hobbies included flower and vegetable gardening and collecting antique farm tractors.
A 1950 graduate of Tunkhannock High School, Stuart was a member of Future Farmers of America.
Born on the family farm in Tunkhannock, Stuart was the son of the late Albert M. and Katherine Brown Vosburg.
Stuart was married 47 years on November 27 to Virginia L. Smith Vosburg.

Also surviving are three daughters, Jill L. Vosburg of Dingman, Katherine Vosburg Baker of Landisville and Tammy L. Vosburg of Lancaster, 16 grandchildren; a brother, Albert, married to Doris Vosburg of Tunkhannock; and a sister, Gloria, married to LeRoy Garey of DeBarry, Florida.

YOUNG, RICHARD E., 83, photographer
Richard E. Young, 83, formerly of Charlestown, West Virginia and Manheim, died of natural causes Tuesday afternoon, January 29, 2002 at Conestoga View.
A professional salesman and photographer, Richard lived in Charlestown for more than 50 years.
An Army Air Force and U.S. Air Force veteran, Richard was an aerial photographer during World War II and the Korean War.
Richard was a 1936 graduate of Manheim Central High School, where he was captain of the boys basketball team. He attended the former Millersville State College.
An avid tennis player, Richard won several tennis championships in the Manheim and Lancaster areas during his early years.
Born in Manheim, Richard was the son of the late Charles E. “Poss” and Helen Oehme Young.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia J., married to Larry Feirick of Lancaster; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold H., married to Emma Young of Manheim.
Richard was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Chester and Mahlon; and a sister, Anna Rettew.
