Samuel W. Brubaker, 82, or 291 East Sun Hill Road, Manheim, PA, died Monday morning September 15, 2003 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim.
Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel H. and Emma Kulp Brubaker.
In 1960, Sam retired from the Fuller Company, Manheim after working for over 31 years as a supervisor.
He was the husband of the late Dorothea R. "Dottie" Richardson Brubaker who died in January of last year.
Sam served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
A 1940 graduate of the former Manheim High School, he was of the Protestant faith and a lifetime member of the Germania Band Club, Manheim.
His interest included, fishing, playing golf, flower gardening, and taking care of his beloved dog, Rudder.
Surviving are a step son, Peter R. married to Donna Schmeck Floyd of Lewes, Delaware, one step granddaughter, and three step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Phoebe Booser, and Theodora Degler.

Walter A. Burkhart, 67, of 47 Hemlock Acres Court, Manheim, PA, died of natural causes on Monday, September 29, 2003, at his residence following a long illness.
Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the daughter of the late Walter K. and Anna B. Hughes Burkhart.
He was married to Donna M. Nesinger Burkhart for 28 years.
He was a retired auto driver for the Auto Auction, Manheim, PA for 5 years.
Prior to the auction, he worked as a truckers helper for the former Miller and Hartman Food Distributors, Lancaster, PA; worked as a laborer for C & D Power Systems, Leola, PA, a truck driver for the former Lancaster Meat Packaging Company, and a truck driver for McMinn’s Asphalt Company, East Petersburg, PA.
He was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim, PA.
His interest included the Penn National Race Way and a John Wayne Fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons: Walter A. Jr. married to Cindy J. Burkhart of Ephrata; Michael L. married to Sandy Burkhart; Merle E. married to Gail Burkhart; Roy Beck all of Lancaster, PA.; a daughter: Jackie M. married to Ronald E. Bires of Lititz; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; two brothers: Howard "Dutch" married to Elaine Burkhart; Charles H. married to Karen Burkhart both of Lancaster, PA; three sisters: Janet E. Burkhart, Rose E. Miller; Carol A. married to Thomas Asplin all of Lancaster, PA.

Josephine E. Eberly, 88, of the Mount Hope Church Home, 3026 Mount Hope Home Road, Manheim, died Saturday morning, September 20, 2003 at the home following a lengthly illness.
Born in Burnham, Mifflin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret Knepp Snook.
A homemaker, and formerly of Manheim, she was the wife of the late Charles Eberly Jr. who died in 1967.
A member of Manheim Brethren In Christ Church she also was a member of the Hope Fire Engine & Hose Company Number 1 Auxillary, Manheim; and a member of the Lancaster Regional Medical Center Adult Day Care Center.
Interests included, sewing, flower gardening, and hunting with her husband in Tioga County.
Surviving are four daughters, Esther S. married to Paul Schaeffer of Ephrata, Ella S. Eberly of Manheim, Jean S. Hollinger of Lancaster, Dorothy S. married to David Mumper of Milton, four sons, John S. married to Carol Eberly and Donald S. married to Bonnie Eberly both of Lancaster, Albert S. married to Betty Eberly of Akron, PA., and William S. Eberly of Mount Joy, twenty five grandchildren, forty five great grandchildren, and a half brother, Percy Beaver of Florida.
She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond S. Eberly.

Born in Blue Ball, Pa, she was the daughter of the late David W. Jr. and Anna Zimmerman Martin.
Her husband Edwin W. Eby died on May 2, 2003.
She was a homemaker.
A member of Manheim Mennonite Church, she taught Sunday School, a member of the women’s sewing circle, and a representative for the church at various Mennonite Homes.
She enjoyed quilting.
Surviving are a son, Jay Leonard husband of Sally Esh Eby of Lancaster; two foster daughters, Pauline W. wife of Harold Esh of Sun City, Arizona, and Wilma M. Simmoneau of Denison, Texas; 13 foster grandchildren; 29 foster
great-grandchildren; three foster great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, J. Paul husband of Esther Martin of Palmyra, Pa, J. Ervin husband of Shirley Martin of Leola, Pa, and a sister, Katie Hoover of Farmersville, Pa.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Elvin Martin.

GEIB, HOMER S., 85, MANHEIM
Homer S. Geib, 85, of 312 North Penryn Road Manheim, PA., died Friday evening, September 5, 2003 at his home following a brief illness.
Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Abraham and Lizzie Strickler Geib.
In 1982 he retired as a mill foreman for Agway Feed Mill in Manheim after working for over 37 years. Also during this time he worked at several Manheim Area Farms. Following retirement, Homer worked as a warehouse attendant for Weis Markets in Manheim from 1987 until June of this year.
He was the husband of Ruth Summy Geib and they observed their 51st wedding anniversary in May of this year.
Homer served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
A member of Chiques Church Of The Brethren, Manheim, he served as a church trustee, and on the cemetery board, church usher, and the sound committee.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Patti A. Haworth of Milford, Ohio, two sons, Dennis R. married to Kathy Groff Geib of Manheim, and Brian S. married to Lori A. Blevins Geib of New Providence, PA., seven grandchildren, one brother, Paul Geib of Mount Joy.
He is preceded in death by five brothers, Elam, Jacob, Elmer,
Norman, and Samuel Geib, and two sisters, Mabel Ruhl, and Edith Todd.

Born in Richmond, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Lillie Montgomery Hopper.
A homemaker, she was the wife of the late Charles W. Geib who died on July 15, 2001.
She was devoted to her family and was involved in family activities.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in El Paso, Texas.
Her interest included sewing, traveling with her husband throughout the United States, and her love of animals.
Surviving are a brother: Edward W. married to Elizabeth I. Sullivan, a sister: Helen G. Cameron both of Manheim, PA; a foster son: Dennis White of El Paso, Texas; 6 nieces and 5 nephews.

Thomas R. Hilton, 82, of Manheim, died of natural causes on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, PA following a lengthy illness.
Born in Manheim, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas C. and Cora Hilton.
His wife Mary M. Hilton died in June, 2001.
He retired in 1982, as a Superintendent for the former Raymark Industries, Manheim, after 43 years. Mr. Hilton served on the Manheim Water and Sewer Authority for many years.
A U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, he was a Staff Sergeant and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal.
He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manheim, PA.
He was a member of the Manheim VFW Post #5956 and the Manheim Americam Legion Post # 419.
His interest included hunting and fishing.
Surviving are a son: James R. married to Susan E. Hilton of Elizabethtown; two daughters: Patricia A. married to Ray E. Herr of Manheim, Barbara D. Hilton of Glen Mills; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one sister: Betty married to Wayne Getz of Manheim.

May H. Knittle, 93, formerly of 57 South Linden St. Manheim, PA., died Monday morning, September 8, 2003 at Luther Acres, 600 East Main St. Lititz following a brief illness.
Born in Manheim,she was the wife of the late Frank E. and Kathryn Harner Keiffer.
A 1931 graduate of Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing, May worked as a nurse for Dr. Ruth M. Brenner in Manheim until her retirement, previous she was employed as a registered nurse at Lancaster General Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Knittle who died in March of 1964.
A life long member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manheim, she was a past president of Daughters of Zion Sunday School Class, archivist for the annual Festival Of The Red Rose for 30 years, and choir member for many years.
She was a member of the Manheim Historical Society and helped with the Fasig House restoration in Manheim.
May was a charter member and Royal Matron of the Order Of The Eastern Star when the organization met in Manheim.
Surviving are a son, Thomas J. married to Catherine L. Dissinger Knittle of Manheim, two grandsons, two great grandchildren and a sister Grace K. married to Michael Franchio of Seabring, Florida.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris G. Knittle, and four brothers, Emery, Frank, Luther, and Miles Keiffer.

Milly was last employed in the bindery department for the former Manheim Sentinel Newspaper, earlier in her life she was employed by Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster.
She was the wife of John D. Lehman and they observed their 65th wedding anniversary on June 7th of this year.
A member of St. Paul's United Church Of Christ, Manheim, she also participated in the Women's Fellowship of the church.
Mildred was a 1936 graduate of Hempfield High School.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Milly was devoted to her family.

Roberta W. Long, 76, of Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA, formerly of East Petersburg, died Friday, September 12, 2003, at Brethren Village of natural causes after a year long illness. She had resided in East Petersburg, PA for 52 years.
Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Edna Gudekunst Wendler.
She was married to Robert B. Long for 55 years on June 12, 2003.
Mrs. Long had attended McCaskey High School and graduated in 1945 from Manheim Township High School.
She was employed at Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster, for 20 years as an administrator in the advertising department. She had retired from there in 1985.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, East Petersburg. In addition, she was in the Lancaster Court of the Order of Amaranth and a member of the James Buchanan Order of the Eastern Star. She served in the Auxiliary of the Lancaster General Hospital and was a member of the East Petersburg Historical Society, the Iris Club of Lancaster and the "45 ers" of the McCaskey High School.
She enjoyed playing bridge and dominos, spending winters in Florida and was a Penn State fan. She and her husband had traveled to 47 out of the 50 states and several countries in Europe.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Donald J. married to Jessica Hoffman Long of Manheim; and a daughter Gale M. Long of Lancaster; and two granddaughters.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Nuss, and three brothers, Richard Wendler, Lester Wendler, Jr., and a twin brother, Robert Wendler.

F. Stanley Nauman, 81 of 159 Sego Sago Road, Lititz, died unexpectedly of natural causes Sunday, September 28, 2003 at his home.
Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Frank W. and Alma Irvin Nauman.
In 1987, Stanley retired from the former L.B. Myers Painting Company, East Petersburg, after working for over 51 years as a house painter.
He was the husband of the late Pauline Y. Ober Nauman who died in 1996.
A veteran of WW II., Frank served in the 117th Combat Engineer Battalion. He was a member of the Cocalico Valley, Ephrata Post 3376 Veterans Of Foreign Wars.
He was a member of Jerusalem United Church Of Christ, Penryn, PA.
With many of his family participating in racing, Frank volunteered many hours at the Lanco Micro Midget Races held in Brickerville. An avid hunter, he enjoyed hunting in Potter County.
Surviving are a son, Ronald E. Nauman of Manheim, four grandchildren, one great granddaughter, three brothers, J. Earl married to Betty Nauman of East Petersburg, Charles R. married to Betty Nauman of Manheim, and H. Wilbur married to Gloria Nauman of Ephrata.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Meallow, and one sister, Betty Zimmerman.
