Robert H. Brady, 70, of 353 Long Road, Manheim, died Wednesday afternoon, May 9, 2001 at home after a long illness.
Brady last worked as a tool and die maker for Precision Forms, Lancaster. He previously was a tool and die maker for Alcoa, Lancaster.
A U.S. Navy Veterean, Robert served during the Korean War.
Robert was a scoutmaster for six years for Boy Scouts of America, Troop 33, East Petersburg.
He was an avid hunter.
Born in Englewood, New Jersey, Robert was the son of the late Wilfred C. and Helen M. Roth Brady.
He was married 27 years in August to Faye P. Bowers Brady. His first wife, Irma Pfann Brady, died in 1972.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Ralph of Lancaster, two daughters, Anita, married to Kevin Barr of Lititz and Susan Brady of Atlantic Beach, N.C., three stepdaughters, Diane, married to Jerry Miles of Tunica, Miss., and Gail Wilson and Paula, married to Christopher Maul, both of Lancaster; 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Feissers of Alabama.
Robert was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Sherry Beard.

GIBBLE, STANLEY G., 77, gas delivery man
Stanley G. Gibble, 77, of 1904 Hossler Road, Manheim, died unexpectedly of natural causes Tuesday morning, May 15, 2001 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Stanley retired in 1987 after 29 years as a gas delivery man for the former Myers Metered Gas company in Manheim.
Early in his career, Stanley worked for the former Musser Brothers Chicken Farm in Mount Joy.
In his retirement years, Stanley worked part-time for the Manheim Auto Auction.
Stanley was a member of East Fairview Church of the Brethren in Manheim.
Born in Rapho Township, Stanley was the son of the late Harry and Daisy Gibble Gibble.
Stanley was married 57 years in December to Jean Snyder Gibble.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Barry L., married to Sandra A. Closson Gibble, Carl E., married to Deborah K. Haldeman Gibble, and James D., married to Jody A. Ream Gibble, all of Manheim, and Wayne E. of Lancaster; three daughters, Christine F. married to Ronald H. Rohrer, and Janet M., married to Harold C. Groff, both of Manheim, and M. Diane, married to David F. Good of Conestoga; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Ray G., married to Ruth Gish Gibble of Chambersburg, Martin G., married to Mary Heisey Gibble, and Victor G., married to Etta Kreiner Gibble, both of Manheim, and Harold G. of York; and a sister, Grace, married to John Gockley of Palmyra.

Harold Graybeal, 84, of 1408 Slate Hill Road, Peach Bottom, died Sunday, May 20, 2001 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, after a brief illness.
Harold was a self-employed plumber and electrician, working throughout Lancaster County. In his earlier years, Harold farmed the family homestead in Peach Bottom.
A World War II veteran, Harold was a sergeant in the U.S. Army.
Born in Ash County, N.C., Harold was a son of the late Newton F. and Callie Graybeal.
Harold was married to E. Mildred Sides Graybeal. They observed their 60th wedding anniversay June 2000.
Surviving are two sons, Barry L., married to Patricia L. Kieffer Graybeal of Peach Botom, and Lonnie D., married to Bonnie V. Weaver Graybeal of Manheim; two daughters, Donna L., married to James C. Trimble Jr., and Dary J., married to James L. Dye, both of Peach Bottom; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandsons.
Harold was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Anna R. Grossman, 87, formerly of 1876 Mountain Road, Manheim, died Tuesday morning, May 29, 2001 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, after a brief illness.
A homemaker, Anna was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Penryn, and its women's group.
Anna also belonged to the Penryn Fire Company auxiliary.
She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.
Born in East Lampeter Township, Anna was the daughter of the late Enos and Anna Diebler Myers.
She was married 61 years in June to Ray H. Grossman.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Ruth A., married to Ted S. Achey, and C. Jean Grossman, both of Manheim; a son, Kenneth L., married to Carol A. Siegrist Grossman of York; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Enos, married to Stella Myers of Willow Street; and a sister, Elva Todd of Lancaster.

Ben was a self-employed house painter for 40 years in Lancaster County. Earlier, he was a farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Born in Mount Joy Township, Ben was the son of the late Monroe and Sarah Stauffer Hollinger.
Ben was a member of Chiques Church of the Brethren for 80 years.
He was married to Ruth M. Ginder Hollinger for 69 years in June 2000.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Robert G., married to Erlene M. Hirneisen Hollinger of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Shelba J., married to Malcolm L. Boley of New Holland, and Sandra G., married to Paul E. Brubaker of Manheim; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.

ROSE, JENNIFER J., 39, was police secretary
Jennifer J. Rose, 39, of 478 Crosswinds Drive, Lititz, formerly of Manheim, died Monday evening, May 7, 2001 at Lancaster General Hospital after a three-month battle with cancer.
Jennifer was a secretary for the Penn Township Police Department for the past three years.
A 1979 graduate of Butler High School in Butler, New Jersey, Jennifer attended Grace Brethren Church of Lititz for five years. She also taught Sunday school.
Jennifer was a member of Lititz Recreational Center and enjoyed walking and fishing. She also was proficient with sign language.
Born in Elmhurst, New York, Jennifer was the daughter of Joan Suman of Oxford, New York.
Jennifer had a companion of four years, Timothy J. Dunmire.
Surviving besides her mother and companion are three daughters, Rebecca A. and Wendy S. both at home, and Grace J. of Haskell, N.J. two brothers, Christopher I., married to Patricia A. LaCotta of Oxford, N.Y.; and Anthony M., married to Deborah Suman of Lake Hopatcong, N.J.; three sisters, Jeanine M., married to Kurt Peterson of Vernon, N.J., Holly D. married to Mark Wohrman of Wilmington, N.C.; and Kimberly L., married to James Manasia of Jefferson, N.J.; and a maternal grandmother Eleanora Craft of Oxford, N.Y.

SHAFFER, MORRIS, owned agency
Morris H. Shaffer, 78, of 497 Meadowlark Lane, Manheim, died Friday morning, May 4, 2001 at his daughter's home, 80 North Penn Street, Manheim, after a short illness.
Shaffer owned and operated Morris H. Shaffer Insurance Agency in Manheim, a Nationwide Insurance affiliate, since 1951.
A Republican, Shaffer ran for borough mayor and was active in the Lancaster County United Campaign during the 50's and 60's.
For 47 years, Morris had perfect attendance at the Manheim Rotary Club, where he was president from 1960-61 and 1994-1995.
Morris also was past president of the Manheim Merchants Association, captain of the Manheim Fire Police and director of the Manheim Civil Defense.
Morris was a member of Chiques Church of the Brethren in Manheim, Manheim Historical Society, Eltonsville Sportsman's Association, Antique Automobile Club of America and Hershey Antique Automobile Club.
During World War II, Morris served in the U.S. Army's 340th Engineer Construction Battalion on the Alcan Highway Project in Alaska. He also worked in Papua, New Guinea and Luzon, Philippines.
Morris was elected commander of the Ammon K. Gibble Post 491 of the American Legion, and received a Pennsylvania American Legion award for his service work with veterans and their families.
His hobbies included reading, hunting, traveling, and collecting and restoring antique cars.
Born in Manheim, Morris was the son of the late Jacob S. and Minnie Hershey Shaffer. He attended the former Sunnyside Grade School.
He was married 18 years to Thelma Weaver Balmer Shaffer. His first wife, Alma Brandt Shaffer, died in 1982.
In addition to his wife, Morris is survived by a daughter, Marcia S., wife of Daryl W. Myer of Manheim; two sons, Terry L.; husband of Som Shaffer of Campbell, Calif., and M. Alan of Manheim; two stepdaughters, Barbara A., wife of Paul G. Smith of Mount Joy, and Judith C. Havercamp of Elizabethtown; two stepsons, Richard H., husand of Sarah M. Balmer of Manheim, and Steven R., husband of Kathy D. Balmer of Manheim; three grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; a brother, J. Marlin, husband of Dorothy Shaffer of Manheim, and a sister, Etta, wife of Charles Brubaker of Elizabethtown.
Morris was preceded in death by two brothers, Hershey Geib and Willis Geib, and two sisters, Emma Ruth Nauman and Bernice Arndt.

Anna Mae Showers, age 83, of 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA formerly of Elizabethtown, PA died Friday morning June 1, 2001 at Brethren Village of natural causes. She was a resident of Brethren Village for the past seven and a half years.
Born in Penn Township, PA she was the daughter of the late Elam and Fianna Ginder Showers.
Anna was employed by the former Noggles Garment Factory in Manheim for 7 years and then was employed by Christian Light Book Store in Elizabethtown for 39 years retiring in 1984.
Anna Mae was a member of Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren where she served as a Sunday school and Bible school teacher. She also volunteered at the gift shop at Brethren Village.
She is survived by nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

A homemaker, Esther asisted her husband's ministry in various Eastern Mennonite Conference churches.
Esther was a member of Bernville Mennonite Church.
Born in East Petersburg, Esther was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Herr Kreider.
Esther was married to James B. Siegrist for 55 years.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Anna was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mamie Ventimiglia Maltese.
Her husband, James D. Snyder, died on April 27.

Glenn D. Strickler, 79, of 614 Fruitville Pike, Manheim, died of natural causes Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center,
Glenn owned and operated Strickler's Insurance and Income-Tax Service on Market Square in Manheim for more than 45 years.
An Army Air Forces Veteran of World War II, Glenn was a first lieutenant navigator and served in the 12th Bombardment Group and the 83rd Squadron, aka the Black Angels. Glenn flew 53 missions including search and rescue missions near the end of the war.
Glenn was a member of Manheim Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5956, Ammon K. Gibble American Legion Post 419 in Manheim and the China-Burma India Veterans Group.
Glenn was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manheim and served on its Special Gift and Bequest Fund Committee.
An avid outdoorsman, Glenn enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed landscaping, gardening and woodworking.
Born in Manheim, Glenn was the son of the late J. Gilbert and Caroline F. Frey Strickler.
Glenn was married 54 years in June to Betty M. Mort Strickler.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Linda L., married to Lowell L. Landis of Manheim; a son, Glenn D., married to Sally Metz Strickler of Philadelphia; two grandchildren; two brothers, Earl T., married to Claire Strickler of Bryn Mawr, and J.
