Robert S. Heisey, 80, of 165 N. Penn St. Manheim, died Sunday, August 20, 2006 at the V. A. Medical Center, Lebanon. He was the husband of Frances (Shenk) Heisey. They had celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in February 2006.
Born in Penn Twp. he was the son of the late Harry M. and Dorothy (Stauffer) Heisey. He was the parts manager at the former N. G. Hershey & Son of Manheim for 34 years, and was later employed by C. Y. Tanger & Son of Roherstown for 15 years. He was a graduate of the former Manheim High School, class of 1943, and an Army veteran of WW II. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and Manheim Lodge # 587 F & AM, both of Manheim. He enjoyed working on and cleaning his car, and working in the yard. He also enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and their dogs.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Joan M. Zercher of Mount Gretna, and Barbara J. Musser of Cornwall; 6 grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Jessica, Joshua, Matthew, & Meghan; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine LeFever of Lititz.
There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Thursday from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Funeral service and interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family asks the contributions in Robert’s memory be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.

John H. Shenigo
August 20, 2006
John H. Shenigo, 35, of 2233 Donough Drive Manheim, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at the M. S. Hershey Medical Center following a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Barbara Ann Shirk Shenigo of Manheim and the late Michael A. Shenigo Sr. He was the husband of Denise A. Hiestand Shenigo. John worked nine years as a millwork material handler for Huttig Building Products, Centerville. He previously worked for E.E. Shenk & Sons, Manheim. John also attended Elizabethtown High School and Grace Church of Lititz. He was a member of the Elstonville Sportsmen Association, Elizabethtown American Legion Post 329 and the Elizabethtown Moose Lodge. His interests included hunting, woodworking, riding his Harley, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. John loved spending time with his daughters.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother is a grandmother, Anna M. Bednar Shenigo of Lancaster, two daughters, Madison N. and McKenzie P. Shenigo; three brothers, Michael A. Jr. husband of Betty J. Shenigo of Manheim, Steven E. Shenigo of Manheim, Craig S. husband of Tris Shenigo of Lancaster; a sister, Mary M. Shenigo of Danville, and two nephews, Justin and Kyle Shenigo.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Manheim Brethren In Christ Church 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA on Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 7:00 PM with Rev. J. Melvin Wenger, 84, of 227 Sand Hill Road Greensburg, and formerly of Manheim died Wednesday September 6, 2006 at the Excela Health Area Hospital, Latrobe following a lengthy illness.
Born in Manheim Township he was the son of the late Clayton and Mary Stauffer Wenger. Melvin worked for Isaac Martin Produce for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Gene husband of Doris Hershey Wenger of Elizabethtown, Harold husband of Joanne Buckwalter Wenger of Stevens, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a brother Elam Wenger of Lancaster and a sister Ethel wife of Stanley Witmer of Lancaster.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment in East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers.

Dorothy M. Landis
September 13, 2006
Dorothy M. Landis, 83, of 16 Stoltzfus Lane, Leola, formerly of Lititz, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at the Audubon Villa Nursing Home, Lititz following a brief illness.
Born in Warwick Township, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary Gantz Landis. Retired in 1989, Dorothy worked 36 years as a floor lady at the former Oehme’s Bakery, Lititz. She also worked for Wilbur Chocolate Company and the former Morgan Paper Company both of Lititz. Dorothy was of Lutheran faith. Her interests included crocheting, gardening, cooking, watching tennis, Philadelphia Phillies and spending time with her family.
Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Marsha A. Male Landis of Leola, four grandchildren, Christine A. wife of Claude Berger of Lititz, Robert Jr. husband of Che Lin Landis of Ephrata, Mark D. husband of Laura Landis of Lititz, Lori A. wife of Todd Ebersole of Newmanstown; eleven great grandchildren, Stephanie, Alyson, Austin, Honoria, Chance, Mitchell, Reiyna, Nikolas, Burt, Britney, Nathan; and a nephew, Charles H. Lauthers of Manheim. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Landis Sr. and a sister, Gladys Lauthers.
Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment in Brickerville Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Wesley James Moyer
September 13, 2006
Wesley James “ Wes “ Moyer, 20, of 1118 Shumaker Road Manheim, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 13, 2006.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Jeffrey L. and Beverly A. Martin Moyer with whom he resided. For the past two years Wes worked as an electrician for B. J. Baldwin Electric in Narvon. He was an active member of Hempfield Church Of The Brethren Manheim where he participated in youth group activities, church softball team, and in several mission trips. Wes was a 2005 graduate of Manheim Central High School where he was a member of the Tennis, Golf, and Rifle teams. In 2005 Wes graduated with academic honors from the Brownstown Career Technology Center. Following graduation Wes continued his education for the past two years at Brownstown C.T.C. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, fishing, and hunting.
Surviving in addition to his parents is a sister Stephanie Lynn Moyer at home, Paternal Grandparents, Clarence R. husband of C. Lois Moyer of Manheim, Maternal Grandparents, Raymond L. husband of A. Donna L. Hynicker, 61, of 13 Hemlock Acres Court Manheim went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, September 16, 2006.
Born in Lancaster County she was the daughter of Helen H. Fry Eberly of Ephrata Manor and the late Clayton F. Eberly. Throughout her life she was employed by many local companies in the Ephrata area. She was the wife of Martin H. “ Marty “ Hynicker and they observed their 6th wedding anniversary in April of this year. In 1961 Donna was named Miss Rothsville and in 1962 she was named Miss Terre Hill. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and volunteering by helping senior citizens.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother is a daughter, Sabrina R. Snyder of Landisville, adopted son, Scott L. Bowman of Denver, adopted daughter, Kimberly M. wife of Robert E. Van Vooren of Lititz, seven grandchildren, three sisters, Linda wife of David Yelk of Adamstown, Sally wife of David Sweigart of Ephrata, Debra wife of Jay Good of Stevens, a brother, William husband of Diane Eberly of Stevens and a step brother Lee Eberly of Denver.

Robert B. Hurst

Robert B. “ Bob” Hurst, 68, of 26 South Fulton Street Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Clay Township, he was the son of the late Titus M. and Ruth Breitigan Hurst. For over thirty-six years Bob was a route man for Graybill’s Dairy Lititz retiring in 2000. In his early years he worked on the family farm. He was the husband of Judy A. Heisey Hurst and they observed their 45th wedding anniversary in April of this year. Bob was a member of the Penn-Dutch Sportman’s Club New Holland, the National Rifle Association, and was the owner of Bob’s Jordan Hollow Hunting Camp located in Potter County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son Brian R. Hurst of Lititz, two daughters, Beth A. wife of Greg K. Herr and Amy Sue wife of Jeffrey L. Nolt all of Manheim, five grandchildren, Brad Herr, Garrett Herr, Amanda Herr, Jason Hurst, Abigail Nolt, a brother, Richard husband of Phyllis Hurst of Wapwallapen, and a sister, Betty J. wife of Earl R. Zimmerman of Millersville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Heagy.

Myrtle I. Baker

Myrtle I. Baker, 85, of 63 South Fulton Street Manheim passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Lancaster General Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Nettie Hummer Cassel. She was the wife of the late John P. Baker he died in 1995. A homemaker, Myrtle enjoyed reading, embroidering and traveling. She was a member of the Lititz Church of the Brethren, Manheim Lioness Club, Manheim American Legion Auxiliary Post 419 and for many years she was a den mother for the Manheim Cub Scouts Pack 47.
Surviving are three sons, Jere L. husband of Joyce M. Baker of Lancaster, Robert L. husband of Irene T. Baker of Lititz, Dale E. Baker of Manheim; a daughter, Julia D. wife of Jay D. Bayer of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother and six sisters. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and two brothers.

Bethany Kurtz Stoner, infant daughter of David and Jennifer Kurtz Stoner of 636 Oak Tree Road Manheim died Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at Women and Babies Hospital Lancaster.
Surviving in addition to her parents are two sisters, Corrina Groy and Anastazia Stoner at home, Paternal Grandfather Mervin Stoner of Frystown, Paternal Grandmother Evelyn Behrens of Jonestown, Maternal Grandparents Gene and Shirley Kurtz of Lititz, Paternal Great Grandmother Phillis Stoner of Jonestown, and Maternal Great Grandparents Roy and Madeline Miller of Lancaster. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Olive D. Yoder, 93, a resident of Pleasant View Retirement Community and formerly of Reading and Manheim died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center Lititz.
Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace Donley Kimmel. Olive worked at the former Palmer Candy Company of Reading. She was the wife of the late Levi B. Yoder who died in March of 1997. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church Manheim and a member of the United Methodist Women. Olive was a member of the Reading Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed knitting.
Surviving is a daughter in law Barbara M. Yoder of Manheim, three grandchildren Kathryn Ann Yoder of Manheim, Andrew L. husband of Maureen Yoder of Chelsea VT., Peter M. husband of Lisa Yoder of Mount Joy, and three great grandchildren. Olive was preceded in death by a son, Reverend Richard C. Yoder.

H. Richard Frey

H. Richard “Dick” Frey, 75, of 2333 Town Square North, Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Lancaster General Hospital due to complications of A.L.S., Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Herman S. and Mary Irvin Frey. For thirty years Dick worked as a letter carrier for the United States Post Office Manheim Branch retiring in 1989. Dick was also the owner and operator of R and M Awnings Manheim. Following retirement he worked as a courier for the Manheim Central School District for eleven years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was the husband of Darlene Longenecker Frey and they observed their 52nd wedding anniversary in March of this year. For more than fifty years Dick was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim, where he served on the Board of Trustees and many other committees at the church. He was a member of the Manheim Lions Club since 1975 and was Past District Governor for the Lions District 14D. Dick received the Melvin Jones Fellow from Lions Club International as well as a fellow of Lions of Pennsylvania Foundation Award. He also received the Red Rose Award from Lancaster Newspapers. Frey was a 1949 graduate of Manheim High School. He was a member of the Manheim V.F.W. Post 5956 and the Ammon K. Gibble American Legion Post 419 Manheim. His interests included bowling, golfing, and he enjoyed playing softball in the Lancaster County Old Timer’s League.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Linda R. wife of W. Thomas Johnson of Lewisberry, Pamela J. wife of Steven Brandt of Manheim, a son, Stephen C. husband of Laura Hanes Frey of Lexington, N.C., eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Ruth E. wife of Richard Mundis of York and Barbara A. wife of Robert Mulle of Bonita Springs, Florida. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred E. Clawges.

J. Marlin Brubaker, 80, of 3223 Pleasant View Drive Manheim died Friday, October 27, 2006 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center Lancaster following a lengthy illness.
Born in Rapho Township he was the son of the late Roy and Emma Sharp Brubaker. Marlin worked at Spanglers Flour Mill Mount Joy until his retirement. He was the husband of Estella Kreider Brubaker and they observed their 59th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, October 25th. He was a member of Discover Joy Church Manheim.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, John A. husband of Mary Anne Longenecker Brubaker of Elizabethtown, a daughter, Nancy Jean wife of Michael F. Newcomer of Lancaster, four grandchildren, Michelle wife of Richard Jennings, Nicole wife of Jason Winters, Kristel wife of Shawn Martin, Troy husband of Kim Miller, three great grandchildren, Aidan Miller, Breanna Winters, Chloe Jennings, two brothers, Arthur husband of Doris Brubaker of Manheim, and Henry husband of Naomi Brubaker of Manheim, two sisters, Eva Mae wife of Aaron Heisey of Centre County, and Ruth husband of Alfred Overly of Manheim. He was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Brubaker.

Born in Lebanon County, she was the daughter of the late David E. and Katie Houser Wolf. She was married to the late Lester H. Knier he died on April 17, 2005. A homemaker, Patricia enjoyed family vacations and spending time with them.
Surviving are two sons, Lester H. Jr. husband of Lisa J. Clark Knier of Wrightsville, Elmer S. Knier of Manheim; a daughter, Lisa M. wife of Kenneth C. Weidman of Manheim; seven grandchildren; one great grandson; a brother, Ronald Wolfe; and three sisters, Jennie Berkheiser, Romona Miller and Shirley Schwartz. She was preceded in death by eight brothers, John, Charles, Elmer, Earl, Walter, David, Roy, Raymond Wolf and three sisters, Violet Wolfe, Joyce Berrier, and Elaine Lefever.
