CLAIR A. ABRAMS GINGELOW
Clair A. Abrams Gingelow, 79, of Swatara Township, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 in the Integrated Health Services of Hershey at Woodlands.
She was a graduate of the former John Harris High School, Class of 1941. She was a retired payroll clerk at the New Cumberland Army Depot for the United States Army and Navy with 20 years of service; member of Calvary United Methodist Church and Past President of its seniors group; volunteer van driver for the Lower Paxton Township Seniors Group; and a former member of the Lower Paxton Township Parks and Recreation Board; member and past president of her local AARP; volunteered her time at voting polls. She enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states and also visited and crossed the Artic Circle.
She was the widow of George W. Gingelow, Jr. She is survived by three daughters, Carol J. Meyer, Ellen A. Chapman, both of Harrisburg and Georganne Daugherty, York; five grandchildren, Michael McGullion, Thomas and Amy Chapman, Dennis and Angela Daugherty.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, 23rd and Derry Streets, Harrisburg. Burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

GEORGE K. EVANS
George K. "GK" Evans, 73, of Harrisburg, died Thursday, January 30, 2003 in his home.
He was a retired employee of Conrail, a peacetime veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of the former John Harris High School, Class of 1948. He was an avid golfer, shooting his hole-in-one at Mytrle Beach, also bowled his "300" perfect game and enjoyed reading, a passion he shared with his family.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Shirley G. Evans, anticipating to have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this April; two sons, Kenneth R. Evans and his wife Linda, Charlotte, NC and Dennis L. Evans and his wife, Mary Kay of Lower Paxton Twp.; two daughters, Debra J. Benfer and her husband John, Susquehanna Twp., and Cynthia DeHart-Hess and her husband Steven, Mechanicsburg; three sisters, Ann Pearson, New Caney, TX, Ella Hoffman and Patricia Little, both of North Manchester, IN; one brother, Robert Evans of Greenville, TN; six grandchildren, Eric M. DeHart, Adam L. Benfer, Amanda M. Evans, Holly E. Benfer, Nicholas L. Evans and Justin L. Benfer; numerous nieces and nephews.

Alan M. Barter, 45, of Harrisburg, died Sunday, February 2, 2003 at home. He was a retired hotel manager for the Riverfront Inn and also the former Warner Hotel, both in Harrisburg. His lifelong love was acting and the theatre. He is survived by his loving family.

STANLEY F. GILBERT
Stanley F. Gilbert, 64, of 315 Cedar Manor, Elizabethtown, and formerly of South 15th Street, Harrisburg, died Monday, February 3, 2003 in Harrisburg Hospital of heart failure. He was a retired truck driver and dispatcher for Hill Rigging Co., Middletown.
He was the widower of Peggy A. Keim Gilbert and is survived by a son, Dwayne Gilbert, Lebanon; 4 grandchildren and 1great grandchild; a sister, Constance, wife of William Mayfield, with whom he resided; 2 brothers, James Gilbert, Elizabethtown and Willie R. Martin.

JOSEPH W. SLOGAR
Joseph W. "Bill" Slogar, 79, of Hershey, and formerly of Los Angeles, died Wednesday, February 5, 2003 in his home.
He was a graduate of U.C.L.A. with an electronics engineering degree. He was a retired electrical engineer for the DMJM Company of Los Angeles, CA; was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II; and a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna Krasovac Slogar. He is survived by cousins from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming and Slovenia.

ROBERT L. SIMPKINS, JR.
Robert L. Simpkins, Jr., 74, of Harrisburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2003, in the home of his daughter.
He was a graduate of the former John Harris High School, Class of 1947. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service and a part-time employee of the Muth and Mumma Dental Lab. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of Korea; was a member of the Lawnton American Legion; Rutherford Heights VFW and Amvets.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Pearl E. Simpkins; a son, Ronald L. Simpkins and parents, Robert and Ida Simpkins, Sr. Surviving are two daughters, Doreen Littleton and Barbara Egresitz; two sons, Harvey Simpkins and Robert L. Simpkins III; one brother, William Simpkins; one sister, Marilyn Miller; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was loved and will be missed.

Dong T. Chau, 88, of 2112 Brookwood Street, Harrisburg, died Friday, February 7, 2003 in his home. He was a retired Bookkeeper, Pepper Farmer and local businessman. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Hai Thi Tran; five sons, Dan I. Chau, Tuu I. Chau, Ton I. Chau, Tai I. Chau and Lee I. Chau; three daughters, Hieu K. Chau, Hien K. Chau and Hoa K. Chau, all of the United States; and seventeen grandchildren.

ANGELINE MAGNELLI DECHERT
Angeline "Angie" Magnelli Dechert, 83, of Steelton, died Sunday, February 9, 2003 in the Harrisburg Hospital. She was a retired file clerk for PA Blue Shield; a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton and had been a member of the former St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Steelton and the Steelton Italian Club.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Dechert and several nieces and nephews.

LEO W. GARCZYNSKI
Leo W. Garczynski, age 69, of Enhaut, died Saturday, February 8, 2003, in the Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence of Hospice of Central PA.
He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, with 20 years of service and a Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a retired sales manager for Sara Lee Corporation and had been the leader and musician of the former "Diplomats" dance band.
He was a member of the Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton; Hershey Italian Lodge; Steelton Moose Lodge #382 and the Lawnton American Legion Post #998.
He is survived by his wife, Susan M. Euker Garczynski; four daughters, Mary Hertzog of Carlisle, Julia Garczynski of Lewisberry, Margaret Garczynski of Dillsburg, Frances Davis of York; one sister, Rosemarie Rech of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; his former wife, Betty Garczynski of Lewisberry; and three grandchildren, Brett, Samantha and Dylan.
Leo will be sadly missedby his other faithful companion, his toy poodle, "Niles".

Mary "Mimi" Hollenbach Cobb, 79, of Enhaut, died Friday, February 14, 2003 in her home. She was a retired bookkeeper for the former Olmsted Air Force Base and United Telephone Co. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steelton, and a lover of tennis player Andre' Agasi and her church.
She was the widow of Harold E. Cobb, Sr. She is survived by a son, Harold E., Jr., and his wife, Betsy Cobb of Derry Twp.; a brother, Albert Hollenbach of Chambers Hill; a sister, Elizabeth Cole Mavrin of Steelton; 4 grandchildren, Kimberly Brennan of Camp Hill, Dannette Fogelsanger of Susquehanna Twp., Elizabeth and Margaret Cobb, both at home; 4 great-grandchildren, Jason and David Brennan, Zachary and Karli Fogelsanger. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Hollenbach and infant Jacob Hollenbach.

She was a retired file clerk with PA Department of Revenue and the widow of Eugene M. Horvath.

Edward L. Metka, Sr., 74, of Paxtang, died Thursday, February 20, 2003 in his home.
He was a retired electrician for Bethlehem Steel - Steelton; an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and had 40 years of service in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, retiring in 1988; he was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Harrisburg. He was involved with the Keystone Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and Boy Scout Troop 11 - Harrisburg for over 30 years; an avid bowler, bowling three leagues per week at ABC East, ABC North, and Trindle Bowl.
He is the widower of Delores Dando Metka. He is survived by two sons, Edward L. Jr., Mechanicsburg and Robert S., Linglestown; six grandchildren, Chris, Kim, Ashley, Jennifer, Robert and Rebecca.

She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church.
She was the widow of Clement T. Woutersz. She is survived by two daughters, Josephine M. and her husband Robert I. Leidigh, Jr., Southern Pines, NC, and Rita D. and her husband Joseph A. Hill, Harrisburg; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Dr. Theodore B. Woutersz.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Leo Keane; 3 sons, Edward G. Keane, III, Wilmington, DE, Daniel J. and his wife Drena Keane, and Thomas L. Keane, both of Harrisburg; two daughters Kathleen A. and her husband Clint Heverly, Wilimington, DE and Bernadette M. and her husband W. Scott Henning of Enola; two brothers, Richard H. Keane, Harrisburg and Michael J. Keane, New Cumberland; one sister, Beatrice Plesic, New Cumberland; four grandchildren, Anthony C. and his wife Amber Intrieri, Daniel J.
