Marguerite K. Shepler, 99, of Susquehanna Twp. died Saturday, June 19, 2004 in her home.
She was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia; was a private duty nurse; a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Auxiliary of Harrisburg Hospital.
She is survived by a sister; Barbara Schroy; Susquehanna Twp. and several nieces and nephews.
GRAVESIDE SERVICES: Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. with her Pastor Brenda J. Kiser, Officiating. Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mary S. Beeman, 83, of Middle Paxton Twp., died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 in her home.
She was a retired employee of the PA Dept. of Health, had been a member of the former St. James Roman Catholic Church, Steelton, and a member of PARSE.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Michael Spanitz. Surviving are her daughter, Maria "Bonnie" Orris and her husband, David W. of Middletown; 1 brother, Carl Spanitz of Steelton; 2 sisters, Joanna Pittman of Mims, F L and Theresa Mettler of Shippensburg; 4 grandchildren, Keith A. Orris of Bangor, PA, B. Michael Orris of Lower Swatara Twp., David P. Orris of Macungie and Jennifer M. Orris of Lower Paxton Twp.; and 2 great-grandchildren, Emily and Nathan Orris.

Tiffany M. Davis
Tiffany M. Davis (Zehring), 18, of Mechanicsburg, died Thursday, June 24, 2004 in Holy Spirit Hospital, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She previously attended Cumberland Valley High School and attended Second United Church of Christ, Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Warren Zehring, Sr. and is survived by her mother, Jill L. Zehring of Mechanicsburg; her brother, Michael J. Cox-Zehring at home and her father, Bryan Davis of Harrisburg; maternal grandmother, Jane D. Zehring; paternal grandparents, Robert and Eileen Davis; 18 aunts and uncles and 26 cousins.

Fredrick W. Hauser, age 84, of Harrisburg, died Friday, June 25, 2004.
He was a retired engineer for the former Reading Railroad, U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a member of Robert Burns Lodge #464 F.&A.M., and the Rutherford V.F.W. Post #148.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Romaine Zimmerman Hauser; 2 daughters, Stephanee H. Woll of Etters and Susan DuVall of Harrisburg; 1 son, Fredrick Hauser of Harrisburg; 1 brother, Francis Hauser of Harrisburg; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Anthony L. Rossi, age 84, of Lower Paxton Twp., died Friday, July 2, 2004 in the Villa Teresa Nursing Home.
He was a retired management analyst for the U.S. Government, a U.S. Navy and Marine Veteran of World War II, and one of the few Veterans of this area, present at the Battle of Iwo Jima. He was a member of the Prince of Peace R.C. Parish, Steelton; Steelton Italian Club and the Westshoremen Drum and Bugle Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Settino Rossi; 4 brothers, Aurelio Rossi of Swatara Twp., Rudolph Rossi of Highspire, Gilbert Rossi of Jersey City, NJ and Louis Rossi, Jr. of Harrisburg; 2 sisters, Sylvia Salinger of Rutherford and Dolores Riddle of Lower Paxton Twp. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth L. Och, 94, of Stonebridge Health and Rehab Center, Duncannon, and formerly of Harrisburg, died Friday, July 9, 2004 in the center.
She was a retired secretary for Capital Bakers, Inc., Harrisburg; a former member of the former St. Laurence Roman Catholic Church, Harrisburg; and a member of the Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick.
She is survived by a sister, Mary H. Och of Harrisburg.

Harry B. Shattuck, age 83, of Steelton, died Friday, July 9, 2004 in the VA Medical Center, Lebanon.
He was a retired employee of the Bethlehem Steel Corp., Steelton. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, of World War II, serving in the European Theatre, wounded several times, and awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the former St. James Roman Catholic Church, Steelton. He was a life member of the Steelton V.F.W. Post #710, 26th Infantry Regiment, and the Republican Club. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Lodge #13, C.F.U.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anna B. Muretic Shattuck; 2 daughters, Barbara Reynolds and husband, Gordon of Elizabethtown and Marianne Reider of Steelton; 1 brother, Louis D. Shattuck and 1 sister, Marie Davis, both of Pepperell, MA; 4 grandsons, Scott Grove, Eric Grove, Jaime Reider, and Justin Reider, U.S.N.; and 1 granddaughter, Kristin Reider.

Stephanie Anne Franchak, D.O.
Dr. Stephanie Anne Franchak, Pediatric Intern at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, CA, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004 in Stanford Medical Center. She died at the age of 30, of a sudden, brief, vigorous battle with cancer.
Stephanie was born in Camp Hill, PA and graduated from Villanova University with a degree in French. She recently completed her D.O. Degree at Midwestern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Stephanie was a warm, caring physician, who loved life, people, nature and all things beautiful. She had worked at the CalCasa Rape Crisis Center and volunteered at an HIV Clinic, along with other various community programs.
She is survived by her parents, Steve and Amy (Anne) Franchak; brothers, Paul, Matthew and Nicholas; and her maternal grandparents, Fritz and Nellie Dawgert. She will be missed by her loving boyfriend of three years, Chris DeWys, as well as numerous in-laws; niece; nephews, aunts; uncles; cousins; friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Michael and Mary Franchak.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 225 Salt Road, Enola, with Rev. John A. Acri as celebrant. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Queen of All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. A viewing will be held on Sunday, from 6 until 8 p.m. and on Monday, from 10 until 11 a.m., in her church. Theresa G. Handfest Rimpfel, 87, of Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Middlesex Twp. and formerly of Steelton, died Friday, July 16, 2004 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was the last surviving daughter of Melchoir and Mary Brunner Handfest and the widow of Frank J. Rimpfel..
She was a founding member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Enhaut and a former member of its Madonna Club. She was a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton.
Surviving are two daughters, Victoria Ritter and her husband, Edward of Oberlin and Mary Ellen McLaughlin and her husband, Donald of Pittsburgh; one son, Tim Rimpfel and his wife, Elizabeth of Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren, Susan Schram, Meredith Driscoll, Adam McLaughlin, Callie Rimpfel and Kathryn Rimpfel; and one great-granddaughter, Katherine Victoria Schram.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha M. Kinsley Pinko; one son, Stanley J. Pinko, Jr., of Steelton; one daughter, Doris J. Moyer of Lewisberry; two brothers, Frank Pinko of Hummelstown and Steve Pinko of Harrisburg; one sister, Anna Balinosky of Bressler; one grandson; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and a caregiver, Joseph M. Pilsitz.

Alexander Welter
Alexander Welter, Jr., 93, of 340 Marshall Street, Steelton, died Thursday, July 15, 2004 in Spring Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Swatara Township.
He was a retired Chief Warrant Officer with the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steelton, the 5th Marine Division, VFW Post 710 and St. Lawrence Club, both of Steelton.
He was the widower of Dorethy Nafke Welter and is survived by a nephew, George Welter of Hawaii and a great niece, Christine Welter of New York.

Torres of Hummelstown and Mina Navarro of Oberlin; five sisters, Lupe Temores of Chicago, IL, Alicia and Dora Briseno, both of California, Carmen and Yolanda Briseno, both of Mexico; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

James P. Hill, 81, of Swatara Twp., died Friday, July 16, 2004 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
He was a retired owner/operator of Hill Construction Company, Harrisburg; a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II; a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church and the Steelton Italian Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and six sisters. He is survived by his wife, Earlene Z. Keim Hill; one daughter, Kathleen Hartz and husband, Richard and one son, Michael Hill and wife Gale, all of Linglestown; five grandchildren, Richard Hartz, Michael Hartz, Nicole Zeiders, Heather Fisher and Brent Hill; eight great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Sandra Shipp and husband Steve of Virginia; Richard Oberholtzer and wife, Lynn of Linglestown; and John Oberholtzer of Florida; six step-grandchildren, Tracy Malone, Christy Malone, Kevin Malone, Jennifer Oberholtzer, Jason Oberholtzer and Tricia Endy and four step-great-grandchildren.

Norman S. Haas, Jr., 81, of 2767 South Second Street, Steelton and formerly of 9 South Fourth Street, Steelton, died Friday, July 16, 2004 in his home.
He was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp. and a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church. He was a loving and caring father, an avid sports fan and bingo player, and never missed social or sports events for his grandchildren.
He was the widower of Pearl I. Foesel Haas and is survived by one daughter, Luann Haas Wise and her husband, Kenneth G., with whom he resided; one son, Terry E. Haas and his wife, Debbie L. of Linglestown; and three grandchildren, Kyle A. Wise, Blake A. Wise and Jared M. Haas.
