George D. Grab, Sr.
George D. Grab, Sr., 56, of Harrisburg, PA, departed this life at Colonial Park Care Center on August 20, 2004, after a courageous and lengthy battle of 28 years with Multiple Sclerosis.
Born May 10, 1948 in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Mahon Grab.
He was a retired Corporate Chemical Engineer from Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Trexlertown, PA. While at Air Products, he received a patent for, The Process For The Removal of Nitrogen Oxides From Nitric Acid Plant Tail Gas. He was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, Villanova University (Magna Cum Laude and first in his class in the department of Chemical Engineering), and did his graduate studies at The University of Pennsylvania and Lehigh University. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi, The American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Harrisburg.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Ropos Grab; a son, George D. Grab, Jr. and his wife, Michelle Grab of Sylvania, GA; two daughters, Lauren A. Grab-Sowers of Harrisburg and her husband, Robert A. Sowers III, and Stacey L. Clardy of Hummelstown and her husband, Thomas W. Clardy, Jr.; two grandchildren, Emily and Evan Grab; eleven brothers, Robert of Fayetteville, William of Melrose, FL, Michael of Hummelstown, Thomas of Harrisburg, Joseph of Middletown, John of Middletown, Patrick of Morgantown, Daniel of Harrisburg, David of Ickesburg, Edward of Texas and James of Bainbridge; six sisters, Mary Buser of Madison, VA, Anne Werstler of Lititz, Eileen Aycock of Wilmington, NC, Peggy Enterline of Grantville, Kathy Wycheck of Harrisburg and Lucy Doran of Langhorne. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Grab.
FUNERAL SERVICES: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 3 p.m., in Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg, with Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence as celebrant. Inurnment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home.
MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: In lieu of flowers,memorial contributions may be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Delaware Valley Chapter, 1 Reed Street #200, Philadelphia, PA 19147.

Robert Lloyd James
Robert Lloyd James of Enhaut, died on Thursday, August 26, 2004 in Harrisburg Hospital.
Robert "Bobby" "Jessie" was born in Frackville, PA, to the late Thomas James (William Penn, PA) and Ida Tregea James (Gilberton, PA).
Robert had six siblings, his only surviving brother, W. Guy James, lives in Levittown, PA.
Robert graduated from Frackville High School in 1939 and joined the CCC for two years, 1940-41. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served from 1942 to 1945. He served with the 57th Bombardment Wing, flying over 70 missions in the European Theatre, based at Casablanca, Corsica and Ghisonnia Gare. He received the Good Conduct, European Theatre Air Medal and Victory Medals before his discharge.
Robert worked for 42 years at the former Bethelem Steel Company based in Steelton, PA, where he worked in the Open Hearth and Electric Furnace Departments. He retired in 1983.
Robert was married in 1943 while in the Air Corps in Greenville, SC, to the former Kathryn Frishkorn of Enhaut, PA. They have two children who survive him. Robert Michael James, born 1953, is married to the former Cindy Jacobs and lives in Etters, PA. They have one son, Michael Christopher, who lives and works in South Carolina. Kathy Elizabeth James, born 1945, has four children, Jennifer Marie Jordan (Nashua, NH), Matthew James Jordan (Nashua, NH), Derek Christopher Jordan (Hollistan, MA) and Wm. Ryan Jordan (Tucson, AZ). Through Kathy's children, Robert has three great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. Kathy is currently married to Matthew Dunn and lives in Leominster, MA.
Robert was a lifetime member of the 57th Bombardment Wing, VFW Post 710, Steelton, "Bobby's Run" Rod and Gun Club, Penn Harris Gun Club, 51 year member of Middletown American Legion, and member of Steelton Moose Lodge 382. He was a long time member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steelton (former German Lutheran Church), where he served as an officer for some years. He was a member, for about ten years, of the 5th Ward Republican Club.
Robert was a Detroit Tigers fan since 1929 and proudest of his good wife and family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathryn, and they made a happy home in Enhaut for most of their married life.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 30, 2004 at 11 a.m., in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steelton, with Rev. Peter H. Kuebler and Rev. Kirk Kerns officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, with full military honors. A viewing will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. on Sunday, in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second Street, Steelton and on Monday, from 10 until 11 a.m., in his church.
MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of his church, 221 S. Second Street, Steelton, PA 17113.

Jeanne Mendenhall Lutz
Jeanne Mendenhall Lutz, 77, of The Oaks, Pleasant Gap, PA and formerly of Harrisburg, died Sunday, August 22, 2004 in the Fairways at Brookline, State College.
She was a retired Assistant Professor of Speech Communication for Pennsylvania State University; a graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg; Brenau University, Gainsville, GA with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech, Theater and Education; Pennsylvania State University with a Master's Degree in Speech Communications; she had been the former director of the PA High School Speech League from 1967-1981 and Forensics' from 1972-1976. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, State College, the Brenau and Penn State University Alumni Associations, State College Quarterback Club, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and its Alumni Association; past president and life member of the Eastern Communication Association, Executive Secretary and Life-member of the Speech Communication Association of PA from 1970-1987, where she received distinguished service awards from both Associations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Lutz and her brother, Francis E. Mendenhall II. She is survived by her niece, Karen Mendenhall of Albuquerque, NM; one nephew, Francis Mendenhall III of Greenville, SC; and brother-in-law and sister in-law, Robert and Irene Lutz of Susquehanna Twp.
Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday, August 27, 2004 at 11 a.m. in Shoop's Cemetery, 4332 Lexington Street, Lower Paxton Twp. There will be no viewing or visitation. A memorial service in Jeanne's honor will held on Monday, September 20, 2004 at 2 p.m., at The Oaks, 300 Rachel Street, Pleasant Gap, PA. Arrangements by Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, Harrisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 205 South Garner Street, State College, PA 16801 or The American Cancer Society, 123 South Sparks Street, State College, PA 16801 or any charity.

Edmund C. Sartori
Edmund C. Sartori, 79, of 516 Marcel Drive, Susquehanna Twp., died Sunday, August 29, 2004 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
He was a retired computer analyst for the PA Department of General Services for the Commonwealth of PA, a Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Penbrook.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline M. Bakic Sartori; one daughter, Mary Jo Wright and her husband, Bruce C., of Dauphin; one brother, Aldo Sartori of Clarksburg, MA; two sisters, Nita Benedetti and Florence Senecal, both of Williamstown, MA; two grandchildren, Joseph E. Lister and Danielle A. Lister; one great-grandson, Mason Joseph Lister and 13 nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, in St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Penbrook, with Rev. Daniel Powell, his pastor as celebrant. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second Street, Steelton. Vigil Service at 8 p.m.

Joseph A. Besic
Joseph A. Besic, 94, of 813 South Sixth Street, Steelton, died Sunday, August 29, 2004 in the Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp., an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the former St. Mary's Croatian Catholic Parish, American Legion Post 420, Odd Fellows Lodge, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 382, VFW Post 710 and St. Lawrence Lodge No. 13 Croatian Fraternal Union.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara C. Verbos Besic; a son, Donald E. Perry of Hummelstown; a brother, Stephen Besic of Hershey; two sisters, Josephine Dalton of Elizabethtown and Anna Segina of Middletown.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second Street, Steelton, with Rev. Kenneth G. Smith officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.

Irene B. Borden Milletics
Irene B. Borden Milletics, 87, of Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care, Swatara Twp., and formerly of 51 Reading Street, Steelton, died Tuesday, August 31, 2004 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She was a retired teller for the former Commonwealth National Bank, Steelton Branch, a former member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and a member and Eucharistic Minister at Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish.
She was the widow of Christian J. "Mitch" Milletics and is survived by one son, Chris R. Milletics of Harrisburg; one grandson, Joshua B. Thompson of Colorado; two nieces, Linda Mesaric and Sharon Pike, both of Colorado; a nephew, James McCarthy of Harrisburg; and her caregiver, Renie Wendt of Lower Paxton Twp.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Kenneth G. Smith as celebrant. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second Street, Steelton.

Ronald V. Visaggio
Ronald V. Visaggio, 69, of Hollidaysburg and formerly of Harrisburg, died Wednesday, September 1, 2004 in Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
He was born, July 3, 1935 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late Gilbert and Minnie Pagliara Visaggio. He was the former owner and baker at Visaggio's Bakery, Harrisburg; a US Marine Corps Veteran and former member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, Harrisburg.
He is survived by two daughters, Tina M. Visaggio, Lower Paxton Twp. and Maria Visaggio, Philadelphia; one granddaughter, Allison Emerick; two sisters, Barbara Jorden, Altoona and Rosemary Lumadue, Enola; two brothers, William Visaggio, FL and Lawrence Visaggio, CT.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg with the Rev. Catherine Gruich Dmitrovic
Catherine "Kater" Gruich Dmitrovic, 78, of 2514 S. Third Street, Steelton, died Monday, September 6, 2004 in the Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
She was a graduate of Steelton High School and a retired purchasing agent for the PA Turnpike Commission. She was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Oberlin, where she served as church secretary for over 35 years, school teacher, choir member, and past president and member of The Mother's Club. She was instrumental in the formation of the church's Junior Tamburitzans; member of the Serbian National Federation and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the food pantry for Dauphin County.
She was the widow of Joseph Dmitrovic. Surviving are one daughter, Karen Dmitrovic Lambrix and her husband, Robert J. of Steelton; one son, Joseph E. Dmitrovic and his wife, Donna of Lower Swatara Twp.; one sister, Helen Goetz of Lower Paxton Twp.; and four grandchildren, Alyson, Robert, Christopher Lambrix and Joseph Robert Dmitrovic.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2004 at 11 a.m., in her church, with the Very Rev. Stavrofor, Srboljub Jockovich, her pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. Viewings will be held on Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. in the Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second Street, Steelton and on Friday, from 10 until 11 a.m., in the church. Pomen at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Helen E. LaRue Krajcsik
Helen E. LaRue Krajcsik, 90, of the Middletown Home and formerly of Mechanicsburg, died Monday, September 6, 2004 in the Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
She was homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg.
She was born July 22, 1914 to the late Charles and Marie (McCormick) LaRue, and was the widow of Rudolph J. Krajcsik.
Surviving are one son, Robert S. and his wife, Arlene Krajcsik of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Robert A. Krajcsik and Susan Bentz, both of Harrisburg and Dianne Stambaugh of Abbottstown; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Friday, September 10, 2004 in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 400 E. Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg. Burial in Dillsburg Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday in the church. Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton, is handling arrangements.

Catherine F. Kapac Mance, 75, formerly of 2848 South Third Street, Steelton, died Saturday, September 11, 2004 in Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
She was a homemaker, a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish and St. Aloysius Lodge No. 42 KSKJ.
She was the widow of Jacob Mance and is survived by three sisters, Anna F. Lalic, Barbara Spangler and Frances Morris, all of Steelton; four nieces, one nephew, two great-nephews and one great-great-nephew.

Kevin James Carroll
Kevin James Carroll, 25, of 316 Myrtle Avenue, Marysville, died Sunday, September 12, 2004 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident on Interstate 81 in Cumberland County.
He was a warehouseman at Ollie's Distribution Center, West Hanover Twp.; a graduate of Central Dauphin High School, Class of 1998; and a member of Bell Presbyterian Church, Elwood City and attended Ridgeway Community Church of the Brethren, Susquehanna Twp.
He is survived by his mother, Pamela Sue Gibbel Carroll and her companion, Stephen E. Tritch with whom he resided; his father, Daniel K. Carroll, Seaford, DE; one sister, Erin L. MacDonald and her husband Jon F., Harrisburg; his maternal grandparents, H. Lewis Gibbel, Jr. and M. Louise Gibbel, West Hanover Twp.; his paternal grandmother, Louise Carroll, Elwood City; Aunt and Uncle Carol and Henry Muensterman and their children, Katie and Dillon, Lower Paxton Twp.; 3 paternal uncles and their wives; several cousins, including Jennifer L. Gibbel, Swatara Twp.

Charlotte M. Atticks Davis, 88, of Swatara Twp., died Saturday, September 18, 2004 in the Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
She was a retired supervisor for Capital Blue Cross and a member of Paxton Presbyterian Church, Paxtang, where she was a member for over 50 years.
She was the widow of Lester G. Davis and is survived by one son, Kerry G. and his wife, Barbara Davis of Harrisburg and two grandchildren, Denise L. Davis and Steven K. Davis.

Maurice O. Millcr
Maurice O. "Uncle Bud" Miller, 79, of 24 Joseph Drive, Middletown, died Friday, September 17, 2004 in Colonial Park Care Center.
Known to many people as "Uncle Bud", he was an avid fisherman, hunter and jack of all trades. He was a retired welder for Bethlehem Steel Corp.; a Navy Veteran of World War II; a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oberlin; Deutscher Quartet Club, Hummelstown Hunters and Anglers and Past Commander of Highspire VFW.
He was the widower of Ruth Miller and Victoria Miller and is survived by two step sons, Carl Chortanoff of Rutherford and Anthony Chortanoff of Steelton; a step daughter, Sandra Chortanoff of Harrisburg; three daughters, Paulette Darr of Carlisle, Carol McClure of Reading and Debra Hoerner of Ephrata; two sisters, Betty Quirin of Florida and Dolly Morton of Reading; 27 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second Street, Steelton. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Potter County.
