Gladys M. Wertz Fisher, 87, of Homestead Village, East Hempfield Twp., formerly of Sylvan Place, Susquehanna Twp., died Friday in the village. She retired as teacher from the Harrisburg School District; was a graduate of the former Shippensburg State Teachers College; and a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Penbrook, the Harrisburg Women's League of Gettysburg, Frey Village Auxiliary, Lutheran Church Women, and the Pennsylvania and National associations of retired schoolteachers. She was the widow of the Rev. Raymond E. Fisher, former pastor of Christ Lutheran Church. Surviving are a son, the Rev. David R. of Millersville; two daughters, Christine F. Gast of North Huntingdon and Sylvia F. Kojcsich of Springfield, Va.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in her church. Burial will be in Lind Memorial United Methodist Cemetery, Lewistown. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday in the church. Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Henry Stark
Henry Stark, 88, of 1109 Columbus Ave., Lemoyne, died Sunday in Health South for Special Services, Mechanicsburg. He was retired from Harrisburg division of UGI Corp., a former volunteer at Holy Spirit Hospital and chief tyler of the Zembo Luncheon Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lemoyne, and former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steelton. He was a member of West Shore Lodge 681 F&AM, Tall of Cedars of Lebanon Harrisburg Forest 43, Harrisburg Consistory, Scottish Rite Valley of Harrisburg, Zembo Shrine, Zembo Shrine Ushers Unit, Zembo Shrine Legion of Honor, Cumberland County Shrine Club, Hershey Shrine Club, Zembo Luncheon Club, VFW Post 7530, Lemoyne Senior Citizens, United Gas Improvement Quarter Century Club, United Gas Improvement Golden Embers Retirement Club, Golden Agers of Trinity Lutheran Church, Steelton and a former Zembo Shrine Uncle Sam. Surviving are his wife, Katherine Schenk Stark; two sons, Dennis C. and Richard A., both of Lemoyne; a brother, John of Maderia Beach, Fla.; a sister, Eva Schmelzle of Harrisburg; and a grandchild. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at his church. Masonic services will held at 10:30 a.m. in the church library. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. WILLIAM J. KAMBIC
William J. Kambic, 92, of 1216 Hudson St., died Tuesday in the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg, Lower Paxton Twp. He retired as facilities manager from the former New Cumberland Army Depot; was a graduate of the former Steelton High School; an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II; and a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, Swatara Twp. He was the widower of Elizabeth Gilsdorf Kambic. Surviving are four nephews, Richard J. Berkanstock of Swatara Twp., Conrad E. Kambic of Steelton, John W. Kambic of New Cumberland and Edward Fuderich of Midland; and eight nieces, Joan M. Colton of Smithmill, Anna Hoffman and Marie Atanasoff, both of Steelton, Catherine Muzic of Bressler, Elizabeth O'Donnell and Anna Fuderich, both of St. Paul, Minn., Sister Agatha Strauss of Lemont, Ill., and Marie Koncilja of Brookfield, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in his church. Burial will be in East Harrisburg Cemetery. JOHN R. ENDERS, SR.
He retired as a salesman and installer from Southern Venetian Blind Co.; was a graduate of the former Steelton High School; an active pilot; and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Surviving are his wife, Mary J. Bland Enders; a son, John R. Jr. of Harrisburg; two daughters, Darlene M. Goodling of York and Charlene M. Craig of Stewartstown; a brother, Conrad of Oberlin; two sisters, Marlene Beistline of Oberlin and Elizabeth Tezak of Steelton; two grandsons, Brandon Porta and Alex Goodling; and a granddaughter, Samantha Craig. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp. DOROTHY SEILER ALSEDEK
Dorothy Seiler Alsedek, 86, of Chambers Hill, died Thursday in the Villa Teresa Nursing Home, Lower Paxton Twp. She had been co-owner/operator of the former Al-Doro Restaurant. She was the widow of the late Albert Alsedek. Surviving are three sons, Albert E. of Lancaster, Richard D. of Fayetteville and Ronald of Chambers Hill; three daughters, Dorothy A. Alsedek and Nancy E. Heberle, both of Harrisburg, and Joanna A. Kraft of Johnstown; three brothers, Lester W. and Donald L. Seiler, both of Mechanicsburg, and John R. Seiler of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Helen S. Wiker of Fort Washington; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. There will be no services or viewing. Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home handled arrangements.

HAROLD R. WAGNER
HALIFAX -- Harold R. Wagner Jr., 62, of Halifax, died Wednesday at home. He was a salesman for Karchner Refrigeration Service; a Navy veteran; a member and secretary of Carsonville Fire Company; a member of the Dauphin County Firemen's Association; and attended St. James Independent Church. Surviving are his wife, Hannah J. Wolfe Wagner; two sons, Michael A. of Halifax and Robert E. of Millersburg; two brothers, Charles E. of Lebanon and William L. of Frederick, Md.; and his mother-in-law, Jacqueline J. Wolfe of Harrisburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, Harrisburg. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Iwan Bucharew, 73, of 4325 Winfield St., Lower Paxton Twp., died Thursday in the Blue Ridge Haven Convalescent Center East, Susquehanna Twp. He retired as a custodian from the Central Dauphin School District; had been an auto mechanic for the former Cooper-Helms Chevrolet; and was a member of St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Yardville, N.J., and St. Vladimir Memorial Russian Orthodox Church, Jackson, N.J. He was the widower of Nancy Wasilyew Bucharew. Surviving are a son, Victor J. of Lower Paxton Twp.; a daughter, Anna Malynawsky of Montreal, Canada; and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Vladimir Church. Burial will be in St. Vladimir Russian Orthodox Christian Cemetery, Jackson. CALVIN J. ZIEGLER
Calvin J. "Jimmy" Ziegler, 20, of 3516 Ridgeway Road, Susquehanna Twp., died Thursday in Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He attended Capital Area Intermediate Unit's Cedar Run Center, Lower Allen Twp. Surviving are his parents, Suzanne Ziegler, with whom he lived, and James Mitchel of Harrisburg; and a sister, Michelle N., and his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Betty Brown Ziegler, all of Harrisburg. Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton, is handling arrangements.

SAMUEL R. HULL
Samuel R. Hull, 74, of Harrisburg, died Sunday in Community General Osteopathic Hospital. He retired as a draftsman from the state; also had worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp.; was an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of Fourth United Church of Christ. He was an artist and enjoyed photography. Surviving are his wife, Beverly J. Beck Hull; his mother, Matilda E. Hull of Harrisburg; and a sister, Ellen L. Staudt of Paxtang. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home. Burial will be in East Harrisburg Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

John G. "Gil" Shaver, 74, of Steelton, died Sunday at home. He was a retired jitney operator from Bethlehem Steelton Corp. with 41 years service. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Parish. He was the widower of Antonette Count Shaver. Surviving is a son, Stephen J. of Steelton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. ANN H. ZUGAY GARLOCK
Ann H. Zugay Garlock, 71, of ManorCare Health Services, Lower Paxton Twp., formerly of Steelton, died Thursday in ManorCare. She retired as executive secretary from the Dauphin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority and was a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton. Surviving are a son, Frederick A.M. II of Hummelstown; a daughter, Sharon R. Pogasic of Steelton; a sister, Barbara Barrouk of New Cumberland; a brother, Anthony C. Zugay of San Antonio, Texas; and three grandchildren. Stephen L. Smey, 76, of Enhaut, died Friday in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Twp. He retired as caretaker for Holy Cross Cemetery, Swatara Twp., and as a mechanic from the former International Harvester Co. here; was a Navy veteran of World War II; a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish and had been a member of the former St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, both of Steelton; a member of American Legion Post 420, the St. Lawrence Club, St. Mary's Club, Fifth Ward Club and Deutscher Quartet Club, all of Steelton; and an avid vegetable gardener. Surviving are his wife, Margaret C. Botchie Smey; a son, Stephen J. of New Cumberland; five daughters, Susan T. Day and Virginia Kelly, both of Mechanicsburg, Margaret G. Metka of Oberlin, and Mary Ann Smey and Rosie Diffenderfer, both of Enhaut; a sister, Julie Benkovic of Steelton; and 10 grandchildren. Mark S. Gibbel, 51, of Swatara Twp., died Friday in the Susquehanna Center. He was a truck driver for Carter Lumber Co. and a former driver for Suburban Gas and Propane Co.; a graduate of Central Dauphin High School; a Coast Guard veteran; and a member of Ridgeway Community Church of the Brethren, Susquehanna Twp., Colonial Park United Church of Christ, and VFW Post 1213 and AMVETS Post 286, both of Rutherford. She was the widow of Elmer Alitto. He was a track supervisor for Kennedy Railroad Builders, Shiremanstown; formerly worked for Fishers Auto Parts, Hummelstown; was an Air Force veteran; and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton, and Friendship Fire Company, Bressler. Surviving are two sons, Robert Jr. "Toby". of Lawnton and Gregory of Hummelstown; a daughter, Lynne Marie of Harrisburg; a brother, William of Dunkirk, Md.; two sisters, Margaret Szollosy of Bressler and Maryann Wright of Chicago; and two grandchildren. Liturgy of the Word and Final Commendation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Steelton. Scott Campbell, 88, of Harrisburg, died Wednesday in the Woodland Center for Nursing, Fairview Twp. He retired as a glassworker from Smith Glass; was a former employee of Pittsburgh Glass; and a member of the Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick. He was the widower of Helen McGowan Campbell. Surviving are four daughters, Doris Mitten of Landisburg, Mary Campbell of Carlisle, Betty Richardson of Lemoyne and Shirley Nett of Millersville; two stepsons, Clarence McGowan of Thompsontown and Robert McGowan of Harrisburg; four stepdaughters, Jane Miller of Port Royal, Grace Keister of Harrisburg, Anna Leigh of Loysville and Shirley Gotwalt of Lewisberry; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. EUGENE L. MEHAFFIE
Eugene L. Mehaffie Sr., 70, of Harrisburg, died Friday at home. He retired as an electrician from the city of Harrisburg; had been a security guard for Dauphin County; and enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and collecting model cars and airplanes. Surviving are his wife, Pauline B. Aldinger Mehaffie; four sons, Samuel, Ricky and Eugene L. Jr., all of Harrisburg, and David of Etters; two daughters, Pauline Martinez and Bonnie Harbison, both of Harrisburg; a brother, John of Fishing Creek Valley; a sister, Ada Eynon of Harrisburg; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and four step-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

BARBARA DEE
She was owner of The Fabric Gallery on Linglestown Road, a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School and attended Lebanon Valley College. She was a CCD instructor; a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church and its Cursillo organization, the Merry Maides at Holy Family parish, Colonial Country Club; and enjoyed golfing and gardening. Surviving are her husband, James G. Dee; a daughter, Kathleen Dee Newkam of Harrisburg; a brother, John Reinhardt of Palmyra; and a granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in her church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp. Viewing will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in her church. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
