Mary F. Wilbur

Mary F. Wilbur, 86 of Cold Spring, N.Y. died on Saturday January 28, 2006 at her residence.
She was born on August 8, 1919 in Sharon, CT the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Loughlin) Flanigan.
She was a graduate of Amenia High School in 1937. Mrs. Wilbur had been a resident of Cold Spring for the past 19 years previously residing in Huntington, N.Y. where she was devoted to her late husband’s medical practice.
In 1942 she married Dr. Daniel Webster Wilbur of Rhinebeck, N.Y. He pre – deceased her in 1983.
Her greatest joy was raising a family of seven children .Survivors include her children, Daniel W. Wilbur IV (Pat), William Wilbur, Mary Jane Lackey, Sarah Sprayregen, Robert Wilbur (Dolores), Kathryn Wilbur and Peter Wilbur (Diane). Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.Additionally she is survived by her brother, Robert Flanigan, a sister Betty Briggs (Ted) and four cousins.
She was pre deceased by two sisters, Mickey Karn and Katherine Flanigan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday February 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM from the Church of the Good Shepherd in Rhinebeck, N.Y. with the Rev. Jeffrey Galens, officiating.
Friends are invited and may call on Tuesday January 31, 2006 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Dapson – Chestney Funeral Home, 51 West Market St. in Rhinebeck, N.Y.
Interment
will follow in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.

James A. Gruber

James A Gruber, a 20-year area resident, died unexpectedly on Wednesday January 25, 2006 at his home in Lake Huntington. He was 42.
The son of James F. and Elizabeth Elswick Gruber, he was born on January 20, 2964 in Brooklyn, NY.
Jim was a cook at the Villa Roma in Callicoon and was a former horse trainer. Jim was a great dad and a loving husband. His greatest love was his son Bradley. He was a former Monticello Little League Coach. He also coached football for the Fremont Red Dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Crumley-Gruber at home; their beloved son, Bradley at home; his mother, Elizabeth Gruber of Youngsville; his loving in-laws, Patricia and Richard Crumley of Mongaup Valley; a sister, Deborah Barbuto of Long Island; loving nephews, John Ryan, Matthew and Douglas Doherty of Smallwood, Alex and Dino Anaxagorou of Long Island; a niece Julia Anaxagorou of Long Island and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marion H. Milroy, 93, a lifelong Rhinebeck resident, died Tuesday, January 24th, 2006 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.
Marion was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Rhinebeck and a member of AARP.
Born on April 13, 1912, on Chestnut St. in Rhinebeck, NY, she was the daughter of Robert Alonzo Day and Bridget (Fox) Day.
Marion married Donald C. Milroy, Sr.on June 14, 1936 in Good Shepherd Church, Rhinebeck, and he predeceased her on May 29, 1992.
Survived by one son: Timothy Milroy of Deltona, FL, daughter-in-law: Carol Ann Milroy of Staatsburg, NY, seven grandchildren: Donald Milroy of Rhinebeck, Cathy Rau of Newport, OR; William Milroy of Germantown, NY, Mark D. Milroy of Hyde Park, NY, Steven Boles of Staatsburg, NY, John Boles of Red Hook, NY, and Sean Milroy of Deltona, FL, eleven great grandchildren, Dan, Joe, Kayla, Devan, Jennifer, Tyler, and Keely Milroy, Ashley and Jason Rau, Scott Amendolare, Jr., and Steven Boles.
Along with her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter: Lynn P. Reichelt, two sons: Peter & Donald Milroy, Jr., and a sister: Alice A’Brial.

Marcus D. Corston, infant son of Deborah A. Corston and James H. Baker, both of Red Hook, died on Wednesday, January 24th, 2006 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.
He was born on August 4, 2005 in Albany, NY.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents: Jake & Emma Corston, Sr. of Red Hook, a sister: Marissa J. Corston of Red Hook, NY; four aunts: Tina Corston of Lake Katrine, NY, Charlene Corston of Kingston, NY, Mary Anne Corston of Plant City, FL, and Regina Brown of South Carolina, three uncles: Jake Corston, Jr. of Poughkeepsie, NY, Scott and John Baker, both of Riverhead, NY, and several cousins.
Marcus was predeceasd be his paternal grandparents: Lowretha Baker and John Saxon.
Graveside services will be held at 9:00 AM on Friday, January 27th, 2006 at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook, NY. The Rev. Ryan T. Nace of will officiate.

Helen Peterson

Helen Peterson, 99, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at the Baptist Home, Rhinebeck.
Prior to 2004, she had resided in Millbrook and California; and had traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe and various destinations around the world.
Mrs. Peterson was a real estate broker and had worked for many years in Coronado, CA., Her husband, Martin Peterson, had been a corporate manger for Montgomery Ward, and Mrs. Peterson was well known for her role as hostess at his company functions and parties.
Throughout her life Mrs. Peterson enjoyed many sports including bowling, swimming and tennis; she was also an accomplished pianist and crochet artist. She was a member of the Rhinebeck Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Born February 20, 1906 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Stanley and Martha (Hintz) Sczimchek.
She was predeceased by her husband Martin Peterson and a son Martin Peterson II.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by three grandchildren, David, and his wife Audrey Peterson of Rhinebeck; Martin, and his wife Bonnie of Kentucky; and Celeste, and her husband Michael Strege of California; a brother Henry, and his wife Carol Hintz of Arkansas; six great grandchildren, Nicholas, Hannah, Tyler and Chelsea Peterson, and Bryan and Eric Strege.
Private services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Margaret "Honey" Stockenberg
Red Hook, NY
Margaret "Honey” Stockenberg, a life long resident of Red Hook, entered into eternal life on Monday January 23rd, 2006 at the age of 94 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck.
Honey was born April 1, 1911 the daughter of Benjamin C. and Gertrude Martin Schutte and was the second youngest of their nine children.
She excelled in school and graduated from Red Hook High School as class Salutatorian in 1928. After graduation she was employed by the Red Hook Telephone Company as a telephone operator in the days when the operator said "number please?" and recognized most caller's voice and memorized their telephone number as well.
During these years she enjoyed singing in minstrel shows held on a stage in the Lyceum Theatre on East Market Street in Red Hook, being blessed with a beautiful soprano voice.
On October 9, 1938 she married Carl Stockenberg in the Dutch Reformed Church in Hyde Park. He passed away on December 1, 1982.
Her eight brothers and sisters also predeceased her, including Leonard, Robert and Harold Schutte; Ida Cotting, Alice Senk, Jennie Loweth, Catherine McGowan, and Gertrude Ludwig.
Surviving are two daughters, Carleen Baright and her husband Richard of Tivoli and Shirley Nemec and her husband Joseph of Red Hook. Also five grandchildren, Todd Baright and his wife Karen, Red Hook; Gary Baright and his wife Kimberly, Wappingers Falls; Scott Baright and his wife Kathleen, Hopewell Junction; Tracy Okie, Hudson and Brant Tremper, Rhinebeck; eight great-grand children, Jason, Cory, Erin, Evan, Ryan and Logan Baright, Anthony and Trevor Okie and several nieces and nephews.
Honey was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Hook. She remained a steadfast and concerned "telephone friend" to family and friends throughout her life, with sincere caring and concern for all.

Marion K. Miller
Forestburgh, NY
Marion K. Miller, a lifelong Sullivan County resident, died on Friday, January 20, 2006 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 77.
She was born on July 13, 1928 in Black Lake to the late George and Adeline Lisenberg Stewart.
Marion was the retired owner of AMI Mail Carriers in Forestburgh NY. She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Monticello and a member of teh Catholic Daughters. She was a former Fire Commissioner of the Forestburgh Fire Department and she was a longtime volunteer at Bon Secour Hospital in Port Jervis. Marion was known for her fabulous Christmas display on Route 42 in Forestburgh.
Survivors include three sons, Walter Miller and his wife, Patricia, of North Carolina; Edward Miller and his wife, Diane, of Forestburgh, and Russel Miller and his wife, Susan, of Florida; one daughter, Geraldine Galligan and her husband, John, of Foresburgh; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.
Memorial services will take place in the spring.

Robert E. Mullen
Liberty, NY
Robert E. Mullen, a lifelong Liberty resident and retired Vice President and Manager of Fleet Bank in Liberty, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 19, 2006 after a long illness. He was 70.
The son of the late Phillip and Margaret Fletcher Mullen Sr., he was born on July 13, 1935 in Liberty.
Bob was a member of St. Peter's Church in Liberty; a member of Fr. Cronin Council #4768 Knights of Columbus; Liberty Elks Lodge #1545; Liberty Fire Department Ontario Hose Co. #3; and Sullivan County Golf and Country Club where he was a 26 year member of the Monday Night Men's Golkf League. He belonged to various other civil organizations. He was a former Court Attendant at the Sullivan County Courthouse. Bob was also a US Army veterean serving from 1957 to 1959.
A family statement reads: "Banker Bob" was a lifelong Liberty resident known and loved by all who met him espeically his grandchildren."
He is survied by his longtime companion, Carol Cook at home; two sons, Brian Mullen and his wife, Madeleine, of Phoenic, AZ; and Thomas MUllen of Sitka, Alaska; a steopson, Todd Cook and his wife, Lisa, of Liberty; one daugher, Tammy Orischak and her husband, John, of Reading, PA; a stepdaughter, Kelley Walerski and her husband, Daniel, of Detroit, MI; two borhters, Phillip Mullen and hiw wife, Betty, of Liberty, and William Mullen of Liberty; four grandchildren, Emily Orischak and Michael, Andrew and Christopher Cook, and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Patricia Smith, predeceased him.

Thomas P. Fitzgerald, Sr., 90, of Kingston, NY, died Friday, January 20, 2006 at the Thompson House in Rhinebeck.
For many years Mr. Fitzgerald owned and operated Catskill Ceramic Tile & Marble, Inc. in Kingston. He retired on April 30, 1989.
He was a member of the Brick Layers & Allied Craftsmen Local #44 in Poughkeepsie, NY.
During World War II Mr. Fitzgerald served in the US Army Air Corps.
Born July 25, 1915, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late John and Rose (Lynch) Fitzgerald. In 1943 he married Lois M. Green. Mrs. Fitzgerald died on December 20, 1973.
Survived by five daughters: Kathrine Leigh Fitzgerald of Kingston, Rosemary Fitzgerald of Red Hook, Judith Lynn Richter of Hillsboro, OR, Margaret Mae Kwok of Santa Rosa, CA, Nora Jane Fitzgerald of Kingston, and two sons: Thomas Patrick Fitzgerald, Jr. of Beacon, and Gregory Lewis Fitzgerald of Ulster Park, one sister: Katherine Oates of Poughkeepsie, 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A grandson, Scott Deaver, predeceased him.

Eleanor W. Donohue, 95, passed away Friday, January 20, 2006,at the Ferncliff Nursing Home.
Mrs. Donohue was a Rhinebeck resident for more than 20 years. Prior to moving to Rhinebeck she resided in Miller Place, NY, and had been employed in the controller’s office of the National Board of the YMCA in New York.
Born January 14, 1911 in the Bronx, she was the daughter of Frederick and Kate (Leska) Timm.
She was predeceased on October 4, 1985 by her husband William M. Donohue; they were married May 27, 1939 in the Bronx.
Mrs. Donohue is survived by two daughters Karen, and her husband Jack O’Brien of Rhinebeck; Patricia, and her husband Jerry Vinette of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren, John, and his wife Elizabeth O’Brien; Kathy, and her husband Pete Dunn; Erin, and her husband Jeff Mulligan; Danielle, and her husband Tim Rector, Kimberly Herrin, Kerri, and her husband Tom Moore, Kelly, and her husband Robert Elarbee; and Geoff, and his wife Nicole Vinette; 14 great grandchildren, Jack, Christopher and Logan O’Brien; Peter and Alexandra Dunn; Jake, Kelsey and Owen Mulligan; James and Emily Rector; Courtney Herrin; Liam and Rowan Moore; and Jameson Vinette.

Florence Louise Sitser Metz, 81, passed away, Monday, January 16, 2006, at the Ferncliff Nursing Home.
Mrs. Metz was a KAZ retiree.
She was born April 23, 1924 in Catskill, NY.
She was predeceased by her husband John Metz in 1991, a son Edward, and a sister Mary.
She is survived by a stepdaughter Shirley Smith of Rhinebeck, a step-son John Metz of Lake George, a brother John, three sisters, Theresa, Vera and Lucille, 12 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great -Great Grandchildren, 5 nephews and 3 nieces.

Wallace F. Winchell

Wallace F. Winchell, 73, of Red Hook, NY, died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at his home.
An accountant, he was a financial whiz and problem solver. During his career, he worked a number of businesses and institutions, including the Bank of America in San Francisco.
Mr. Winchell loved music: he played the trumpet and the flugelhorn, and sang in the choir at St. John’s Reformed Church in Upper Red Hook where he was a member. He was also a past member of the Hyde Park Rotary Club.
Born June 7, 1932, in Saugerties, NY, he was the son of the late Harold and Mildred (Koehler) Winchell. On December 22, 1980, in Red Hook, he married Kim M. Aversano. Mrs. Winchell survives him at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters: Serena Joy Winchell and Heather Rose Winchell, both of Red Hook, two sisters: Shirley Beck of East Goschen, PA, and Elaine Boucher of Brookline, MA and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, Jan. 21st, at St. John's Reformed Church, Old Post Road, Upper Red Hook. The Rev. Ryan T. Nace will officiate.
There will be no visiting hours.

Albert F. DiFalco, Sr.
Elizaville, NY
Albert F. DiFalco, Sr., 83, of Elizaville, NY, died Sunday, January 15, 2006 at his home.
Mr. DiFalco and his wife owned and operated the Elizaville General Store and the Elizaville Deli & Laundramat for many years. He also worked for the NY State Division of Youth, retiring in 1982, and he ran for the position of Town Assesor in the Town of Livingston.
He loved hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a member of the Red Hook-Rhinebeck Lodge #2022 BPOE, and of the Southern Tier Senior Citizens Club.
During World War II, he served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of operations with the US Marine Corps.
Born March 30, 1922, in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Peter and Josephine DiFalco. His wife, Mary DiFalco, whom he married on June 2, 1946, in Mt. Carmel Church in New York City, died on July 28, 2005.
He is survived by a son & daughter-in-law: Albert F. & Regina DiFalco, Jr., and a daughter & son-in-law: JoAnn & James Storms, all of Elizaville, five grandchildren: James (Michelle) Storms of Red Hook, Lisa (Scott) Keeler of Rochester, NH, Michael DiFalco of Los Angeles, CA, Elaine Storms of Red Hook, Mary Storms of Elizaville, and a great grandchild: Claudia Storms.
He was predeceased by five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, Jan. 20th, at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook. Pastor Martha Gibbons of Livingston Reformed Church will officiate. Burial will be at Livingston Reformed Cemetery.

Born on November 5, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of David and Katherine (Donovan) O´Brien.
Fr. O’Brien is survived by a brother and sister in law; Richard & Patricia J. O´Brien of Pompton Plains, NY, three nieces, four grand nieces, one grand nephew, a friend; Victor Mitchell, and his fellow clergy of the Brooklyn Diocese.
