Vincent Anthony Skrapits
Hopewell Junction, NY
Vincent Anthony Skrapits, 44, a resident of Hopewell Junction for the last four months, and formerly of the Bronx, died on Sunday, October 8th in the Town of East Fishkill from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born in the Bronx on November 19, 1961, he was the son of Vince and Jolan Grabarits Skrapits. In 1979, Vincent enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany, and was honorably discharged in 1982. An active bowler, Vince also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and belonged to several motorcycle groups through which he participated in many bike runs.
Survivors include his parents, Vince and Jolan Skrapits of Hopewell Junction; his former wife Helen Skrapits of the Bronx; his son Vincent Anthony Skrapits, Jr. of the Bronx; his sister Barbara O’Connell and her husband Francis of Plainsboro, NJ; his twin sister Anna Buckley and her husband Christopher of Hawthorne; also several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment
will follow at St. Denis Cemetery.
Peter Roumelis
Highland, NY
Peter Roumelis, 83, died Friday at Vassar Hospital after a brief illness. Born April 18, 1923 to Mary Ayvaliotis and Charles Roumelis, he was a lifelong resident of Highland. In 1942, after High School, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and spent 2 1/2 years in the South Pacific battlegrounds of Guadacanal, Guam, Bougainville, and finally, Okinawa, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart.
Upon his return from the War, he joined his father-in-law, Walter R. Seaman, at Highland Hardware & Bottled Gas Company, owning and operating the business until his retirement in 1984. He was a founding member of the Highland Chamber of Commerce, an organizer and coach of the Highland Little League, served on many ad hoc and fund raising committees including the American Cancer Society. He was a volunteer fireman, a member of the American Legion, VFW, Masonic Lodge and Purple Heart Association. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry.
He was an avid sportsman all his life, from high school athletics, to his love of hunting, fishing, tennis and golf. He was a member of Lake St. Patrick Fish and Game Club, Ontario, Canada and Dolphin Head Golf Club in Hilton Head, SC. Travel was another of his great pleasures.
He is survived by his wife Jean Seaman; a daughter Ande Rooney and her husband Peter, St. Remy, NY; a son Ted and his wife Jacquelyn, two very dear grandsons, Andrew and Peter, Kenmore, Washington. Also surviving are three brothers: Frank and his wife Margaret, New Paltz, NY; Anthony and his wife Betty, Tampa, FL; Gus and his companion Barbara, Melbourne, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Sutton Funeral Home, 1 Woodside Place, Highland on Wednesday, October 11 from 4-7. Funeral services will be at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Grand Street, Highland on Thursday, October 12 at 10 AM. Interment
with Military Honors at Highland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Cynthia Lorr, 63, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2006 at the Albany Medical Center.
Cindy was a graduate of Louisiana State University at New Orleans and Iowa State; she was working towards her doctorate in psychology from Iowa State. She has been employed as a Psychologist at Greene Correctional Facility for many years, and had previously worked as a Professor of psychology at several colleges.
Cindy was a Standard Schnauzer and Field Spaniel breeder and participated in many dog shows. She was also a dog trainer and judge of several breeds. She was a member of the Mid Hudson Kennel Association and the Bulls Head-Oswego Meeting (Quakers), Clinton Corners.
Born September 11, 1943 in Ft. Dix, NJ, she was the daughter of Howard Spencer and Eleanor (Kannon) Lees.
Cindy is survived by a sister Rosemary King, a brother Walter Lees and one nephew.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Randolph Lees.
Friends may gather Wednesday, 6 to 7 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 West Market St., Rhinebeck. A Memorial Meeting of the Bulls Head-Oswego Meeting will begin at 7:00 PM.

Michael Cassaro Sr. of Mongaup Valley, NY, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday November 29, 2006. He was 76.
The son of the late Salvatore and Lucille Quartararo Cassaro, he was born on July 27, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY.
He was an electrician for Proctor & Gamble on Staten Island. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Monticello; Holy Name Society of St. Theresa’s Church on Staten Island; Monticello Elks Lodge # 1544; former Boy Scout Leader; Coach for the Staten Island Cobras Football Team; Rangemaster for the Colonial Rifle and Pistol Club on Staten Island and an NRA Firearms Safety Instructor.
A family statement reads, “ Mike was an avid outdoorsman and will be missed by us all.”
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Margaret Valentino Cassaro at home; 3 sons, Michael Cassaro and his wife Victoria of Ferndale, Peter Cassaro and Mark Cassaro, both of Mongaup Valley and 4 grandchildren, Michael Cassaro III, Sandra, Jillian and Jacqueline.
Private family visitation was held on Friday December 1, 2006 at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 State Rt 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY from 7-9 PM. Private funeral services were held at the funeral home at 8 PM with Rev. Robert Ginel officiating.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.

Colonel Louis E. Endsley, Jr.

Colonel Louis E. Endsley Jr., 94, passed away Dec 2nd at the Kent Specialty Care Center, Kent, CT. Col Endsley was a resident of Poughkeepsie since 1956, and previously lived in Beacon. Another one of Tom Brokaw's "Greatest Generation" has gone to be with the Lord. Throughout his entire life he demonstrated by word and deed a strong loyalty and commitment to his families, his community, his church, his college, his company, and his country. He touched many lives for the positive along the way.
He was born in West Lafayette, Indiana, and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was the son of Louis E Endsley Sr and Alice (Barcus) Endsley. He had been employed at the Texaco Research Center, Beacon, NY, as Manager of Planning and Administration before retiring in 1977, after 41 years of service. He also served as a reserve officer in the United States Army for 30 years, including active service during World War II, and attained the rank of Colonel. Even at the age of 75 he reminded us that he was on "inactive reserve" and could be called up at any time. His bags would have been packed and ready to go in 10 minutes.
He graduated in 1934 from Purdue University in mechanical engineering and was awarded a master's degree in engineering from that same university in 1936. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, and the Purdue Alumni Association. He was a member of the West Point Officer's Club, Society of Automotive Engineers, and a former treasurer of The Retired Officers Association. He had been chairman and a member of the Board of Directors of the Dutchess County Chapter of the Red Cross. He was a "Paul Harris Fellow" with the Poughkeepsie Rotary. He volunteered for 14 years with the Poughkeepsie Chapter of S.C.O.R.E. He was a member of hiking and bird clubs. He was involved with and supported the Dutchess County Philharmonic, and the Bardavon. He taught a post graduate course at Colombia University, and lectured at Dutchess Community College. He assisted the Arlington Boy Scout Troop. And lastly he was a former vestry member at his beloved Christ Church (Episcopal), Poughkeepsie.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Alene (Allen) Endsley in 1982, whom he married on Feb 24, 1940. He is survived by 3 children. Dr. L Stephen Endsley and his wife Ann of Modesto, California. Their children, Sara, David, Mary, Andrew, and Blair. Son Andrew Endsley and his wife Janice, Lagrange. Their children; Kristen Ouimet and her husband Marc, Clinton; Kimberly Popken and her husband David, Beekman; and Dr. Kelly Endsley, Somers. Great grandchildren, Jake Popken and Emily Ouimet. Daughter, Marjorie Skalet and her husband John of Englewood, Colorado; their son Andrew Skalet of Seattle, Washington.
He is also survived by his wife Grace Marie (Aldrich) Endsley, whom he married on May 12th, 1984, and her 6 children and 10 grandchildren. Lou was blessed to have two families that loved and cared for him.

Virginia H. Kiseda

Virginia H. Kiseda, a resident of Hopewell Junction for forty years, died on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY. She was eighty years old.
Daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Pataki, she was born March 6, 1926 in Pittsburgh, PA. She was raised in Morgantown, WV and graduated from University High School. She also attended West Virginia University.
She worked for the Carnegie Illinois Steel Corp. in Pittsburgh for a number of years, and also worked at the Greer Group Home in Millbrook, New York.
She was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction. She was a passionate gardener and an accomplished ballroom dancer, traveling throughout the country with her husband, James, to dance at many special events.
A devoted wife and mother, Virginia married her husband, James, fifty-two years ago on September 11, 1954 in McKeesport, PA. They had two children: James Kiseda of Hopewell Junction, NY and Susan Kiseda of Redondo Beach, CA.
Survivors include: her husband, James Kiseda; her two children; her brother, Stephen Pataki of Hermanie, PA; her brother, Julius Pataki also of Hermanie; her brother, Tony Pataki of Swissvale, PA; her sister, Elizabeth Pataki of Laguna Niguel, CA; her sister, Mary Pataki also of Laguna Niguel; her sister, Irene Mercurio of Charlotte, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Phillip H. "Manny" Dedrick, III

Phillip H. “Manny” Dedrick, III, 86, of Tivoli, NY, died Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.
Manny worked for the Grand Central Railroad, and then for the NYS Dept. of Transportation. He retired in 1985.
His well known band, “The Manny Dedrick Band”, played throughout the Hudson Valley for many years.
Manny was a member of the Tivoli Fire Department for over 50 years, and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Tivoli.
Born September 3, 1920, in Tivoli, he was the son of the late Phillip H. Dedrick, Jr. and Blanche (Smith) Dedrick.
On October 31, 1959, in Tivoli, he married Anna M. Johnson. She survives him at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Lee Rekow of Germantown, his son: Wayne Dedrick of Austerlitz, NY, a sister: Mathilda Erickson of Rhinebeck, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Manny was predeceased by a son, Phillip Dedrick, IV, as well as 3 brothers and 2 sisters: Frank, Victor, and James Dedrick, Leona Pillman, and Mabel Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Dec. 2nd, at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 S. Broadway Red Hook, NY. The Reverend Fred C. Cartier of will officiate. Burial will be at Red Church Cemetery, Tivoli.

Elaine L. Martin

Elaine L. Martin, 64, a twenty year resident of Beekman and formerly of Mohegan Lake, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at her home following a very brave battle against breast cancer.
Born on September 2, 1942 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Leslie D. and Margaret Kustrup Paterson. She was employed as a Speak Up Administrator for IBM, Somers for 35 years until her retirement in 2001. She was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club; President of the Pocono Swim League for the Lake Adventure Dolphins; President of the Social Committee for Lake Adventure; and a member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cryptograms, crossword puzzles and cross stitching. Elaine was a devoted camper who loved her grandkids.
On January 20, 1968 at Assumption Church, Peekskill, she married James Martin who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughter, Margaret-Leslie Martin-Braginton and her husband, Kenneth T. Braginton, Jr. of Hopewell Junction; her brother, Donald Paterson of Calabash, NC; her grandkids, Danielle-Marie, Devin, Damian, Christian, Craig, Cadence-Anne, and Bailee-Elaine; two nieces, two nephews and two great-nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter, Margaret Leslie Martin, in 1971.

Agnes Coogan
LaGrangeville, NY
Agnes Coogan, 81, a ten year resident of LaGrangeville and formerly of Flushing, Queens, died on Saturday, November 25th at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. In 1990, she retired from the Management Information Systems Department at Macy’s in Manhattan after 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.
Born in Bristol, CT on February 11, 1925, Agnes was the daughter of the late Austin and Frances Cusick Doorty. She graduated from Bishop McDonald High School in Brooklyn. On April 16, 1944, she married James J. Coogan at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Corona, Queens. Mr. Coogan survives at home.
Other survivors include her son Kevin Coogan and his wife Susan of Cheshire, CT; son Barry Coogan and his wife Carol of Middle Village, NY; daughter Robin Laurita and her husband Dominic of LaGrangeville; daughter Barbara DiTrolio and her husband Dino of Old Tappan, NJ; her sisters-in-law, Rita Doorty and Joan Doorty of Long Island; her eleven grandchildren, Kathleen, Danny, Jennifer, Jeff, Kelly, Patricia, Catherine, Dominic, Lauren, Amanda, and Kaitlin; her five great-grandchildren, Jake, Emma, Conner, Kevin, and Abby; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Leslie Peter Munich
Leslie Peter Munich was born on Sept ember 29, 1946 in Kosice, Slovak Republic. As a young teen he had dreams of coming to America seeking a better life. He finally got that chance and at age 24 came to New York City with just one suitcase. There he built a very successful fire protection business that catered to the restaurant industry. Established in 1980, he was clearly the heart and soul of the company he called Ideal.
Leslie was always motivated, dedicated, and hard working. He also was beyond generous with his time and money and believed in helping those in need. When Leslie had any free time, his hobbies included riding his Harley, listening to bluegrass, oldies, and jazz music, and spending weekends in upstate New York at his summer home, and keeping on top of world events and news.
Aside from being a businessman, Les as everyone called him, was a loving husband and a wonderful father. We miss him and love him dearly. Leslie is survived by hi s wife Anna Maria (Mary) and his four daughters Michele, Jennifer, Jessica, and Tiffany along with his sister, Marta, her husband Tony and their three children - Ronnie, Marek, and Ricky and his brother-in-law Joe, his wife Monika, and their three children Nicole, Dominik, and Michael.
Nothing can every replace Les and our lives will be changed forever. He will always be in our hearts.

Clara J. Ross, homemaker and lifetime area resident, died on Wed. Nov. 22, 2006 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 70.
The daughter of the late Earl and Eva Nutt Bivins, she was born on August 4, 1936 in Liberty, NY.
She is survived by 2 sons, Franklin Ross Jr. and wife Carolyn and Earl Ross Sr. and wife Dorene, all of Livingston Manor; 4 daughters, Jean C. Craft and husband Charles of East Branch, Jane M. Ross and her companion, Allen VanLoan of Monticello, Karen Pautard and husband David Sr. of Livingston Manor and Charlene Ross and her companion Mark Walton of Livingston Manor; 2 brothers, Earl Bivins and companion Wanda LaPolt of Liberty and Winfred Bivins and wife Jean of Parksville; 3 sisters, Eva Barry and husband Harrison of Liberty, Charlotte Hewlett of Woodridge and Eleanor Edwards and husband Elmer of Cooley, NY; 3 sisters-in-law, Hilda Edwards, Emma Welch and Shirley Velez; 12 grandchildren, Jeanine Knise, Rena Mitchell, Saverio Prisco, Angelo Prisco, Robin Young, Earl Ross Jr., Shannon Ross, Jason Ross, David Pautard Jr., Jessica Pautard, and William VanLoan and Kim VanLoan; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Dale W. Sperry, 63, of Germantown, NY, died Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.
He was a Stationary Engineer for the NY State Department of Corrections for over 25 years, starting his career at Bedford Correctional Facility, and retiring in May 2006 from the Greene Correctional Facility in Coxsackie.
Prior to working for NY State, he owned and operated Dale Sperry Construction Company.
Born August 24, 1943, in Dover, DE, he was the son of Marion (Ackerman) Sperry of Craryville, NY and the late Howard Sperry. He graduated from Roe-Jan High School.
"He will be missed by his family, friends and co-workers.”
Dale married Nancy L. Coon on Oct 13, 1995 in St. John's Reformed Church in Upper Red Hook. Mrs. Sperry survives him at home.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter: Happy Dale Gingras of Greenville, NY, a son: Michael Delancy of Hudson, NH, five brothers: Donald T. Sperry of Red Hook, Richard Ackerman of Cathy's Valley, CA, Robert Sperry of Ohio, Daniel Sperry of Florida, and William Sperry of Southwick, MA, a sister: Susan Sperry of Craryville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sheila Margiotta

Sheila Margiotta, 64, a resident of Milan since 2000, passed away on November 20, 2006.
She had been a resident of East Northport, NY for 32 years. Born on October 15, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, Sheila was the daughter of William and Margaret Martin.
She graduated from Fordham University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science degree and went on to receive a Masters Degree in Social Work from Fordham in 1966. She received her Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Masterson Institute in 1995. In 2000, she proudly earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree at Smith College for Social Work.
Early in her career, Sheila held several positions at the Southeast Nassau Guidance Center in Wantagh, NY including Social Worker, Supervisor, and Director. From 1984 through 2006 she conducted her own private practice offering individual, couples, and family therapy.
In recent years, she was an active member of her community serving on several committees including the Town of Milan Comprehensive Plan Committee, the Town of Milan Planning Board, Good Shepherd Church, Northern Dutchess Day Care Center, and Rebuilding Together.
On April 20, 1968 Sheila married Frank Margiotta at St. Patrick’s Church in Brooklyn, NY. She enjoyed a rich family life with Frank, her husband of 38 years, her son Paul Margiotta, her son Philip Margiotta, his wife Tracy, and her three granddaughters Katherine, Jillian, and Madeline Margiotta.
She is predeceased by her father, William Martin and is survived by her mother, Margaret Martin, her sisters Dolores Gibbons and Patricia Martin, her brother Jim Martin, her sister-in-law Annette Gulotta, and many nieces, nephews, and family members. Sheila will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Genevieve Rodriguez a longtime resident of Monticello, died on Saturday November 18, 2006 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 79.
She was born in Manhattan on July 26, 1927 to the late Santiago and Genevieve Carbonelle Acosta.
She is survived by her loving husband Roland at home 3 sons; Roland Rodriguez Jr of Manhattan, David Fontaine and wife Catty of Yonkers,NY and Robert Rodriguez and wife Dottie of Newburgh,NY 1daughter; Diana R. Esposito and husband Paul of Wallkill, NY 1 brother Santiago Acosta Jr and wife Lucy of Bronx,NY 1 brother in law Gilbert Rodriguez of Bronx,NY 2 sisters Carmen Acosta of Bronx,NY and Helen Cruz and husband Luis of North Bellmore,NY 5 Grandchildren Anthony Esposito, Roland Rodriguez III, Melissa Esposito, Christina Rodriguez and Robert J. Rodriguez as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by 1 brother; George Acosta.

Joan M. Kemp, 91, an area resident for seven years and formerly of Albany, died on Friday, November 17, 2006 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home.
Born in Campgaw, NJ on July 18, 1915, she was the daughter of Frank and Julia Pescheck Cabral. She enjoyed tatting and cooking.
Survivors include her son, Denis Beyer and his wife, Janet of Hopewell Jct.; her daughters-in-law, Carolyn Cabral of Lakewood, NJ and Dorothy Williams of Yonkers; her grandchildren, Dennis Cabral, Christine Cabral, John T. Williams, Jr., Shawn Williams, Ashley Williams and Michael Beyer; her great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Carrie-Anne and Emily Cabral; and her nieces, Rosemary Hernandez and Dolores Paradise. She was predeceased by her sons, Eugene Cabral and John Williams; her brothers, Frank, Jesse, John and Manuel; and her sister, Rose.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 –5 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Jct. followed by interment
in St. Denis Cemetery.

Joseph J. Komatz

Joseph J. Komatz “The Mystic Warrior” died on Tuesday Nov. 14, 2006 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 75.
The son of the late Joseph and Marion Fraser Komatz, he was born on Aug. 23, 1931 in New York City.
He was a dockworker for Union Local 707 at Yellow Freight in Maybrook and also was a union carpenter for many years. He was a member of the Kaiser Fraser Car Club. He was also the widower of Barbara Komatz who died in 2000.
Survivors include his children, John Komatz and fiancé Sharon Streit of Loch Sheldrake, Babsy Komatz and her husband David(who was regarded as a son) of Monticello and Jesse Komatz and wife Sharri of Bethel; an honorary son, Nelson Cortes and wife Eleichia of Walden, NY; a brother, Donald Komatz of Florida; a sister, Marion Mangiaracina and husband Frank of Bellemore, NY; 13 grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Kelly, Heather, Shannon, Tara, Noel, Austin-Michael, Ashley, Gabrielle, Fabian, Franciana and Elina and 5 great-grandchildren, Marina, Jordan, Sierra, Alyssa and Savannah.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.

Michael Stefanchik

Michael Stefanchik, 87, an eight year resident of LaGrangeville and formerly of Yonkers, died on Tuesday, November 14th at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Born in Yonkers on April 8, 1919, Michael was son of the late John and Mary Stefanchik. During World War II, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country. For many years, Michael was employed by Westchester County, working as a Landscaper in Yonkers.
He is survived by his sister Helen Bushek of LaGrangeville; brother Steven Stefanchik; sister Anna McCoy; sister Lillian Fedore; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 7 –9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment
with military honors will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers.

Raymond “Bo” Hanaburgh Jr.

Raymond “Bo” Hanaburgh Jr., died on Sunday Nevember 12, 2006 at his home with his family by his side. He was 51.
The son of Raymond and the late Marlyn Larsen Hanaburgh, he was born on Nov. 30, 1954 in Rhinebeck, NY.
He was a logger and equipment operator for Hanaburgh Forest Products in Greenwood Lake, NY.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia Friedman Hanaburgh at home; his father and stepmother Raymond and Nicole Hanaburgh Sr. of Highland Mills; a son, Raymond Hanaburgh III of Highland Mills; 2 stepsons, Dimetrios Lewis and Aaron Lewis, both of Ocala, FL; a daughter, Regina Carusello of Wallkill and 2 brothers, David Hanaburgh of Wallkill and Thomas Hanaburgh of Saranac Lake.
Cremation will be held at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.

Sara “Sally” Carey, 89,a resident of Fishkill since 1978 and formerly of the Bronx, died on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at her home.
Born in Ballymoney, Dunmore, Galway, Ireland on December 9, 1916, she was the daughter of James and Catherine Lyons Mitchell.
She was employed as a nurse’s aide for the House of the Holy Comforter, Bronx for 10 years until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Fishkill and the Fishkill Seniors.
On August 14, 1955 in New York City, she married Patrick Carey who predeceased her on March 1, 1991.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Shekitka and her husband, Mark of Hopewell Jct.; her grandchildren, John of New York City and Kyra of Hopewell Jct.; her brother, Christy Mitchell and his wife, Delia of Ireland; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Gunning, Delia Powers, Catherine Finucane and Margaret Burke and her brothers, Patrick, Michael and John Mitchell.

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Kirchner

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Kirchner, 78, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1956, died on Friday, October 27, 2006 at her home.
Born in Whitestone on November 5, 1927, Betty was the daughter of Arthur and Janet Pawson Rockefeller.
She was a self-employed nurse’s aide who dedicated her life to caring for others and was a member of the Wiccopee United Methodist Church. She was also extremely committed to volunteer work. She collect baby supplies, medical supplies and clothes that she distributed to those in need. She was an avid Penny Social attendee and she also enjoyed whittling angels, soldiers and animals as gifts for her family.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Kathy DeBonis of Hillside Lake, Janet Vitanza and her husband, Bob of Hyde Park, and Elise Coughlin and her husband, Billy of Fishkill; her sister, Janet Sellers of Sparks, NV; her grandchildren, Micci, Anthony, Gina, Richette, Seville, Layton, Bryant, Brendan, Kaitlin, Lauren and Colin; her great-grandchildren, McKayla, Julian, Talia and a baby that is due in December; her pets, Ginger, Sampson, Bella and Trivett; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Karl Kirchner in 1966 and her son-in-law, Tony DeBonis, in 2005.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 2:00pm at the Wiccopee United Methodist Church, 7 Old Grange Road, Hopewell Junction with Rev. Trudy Codd officiating. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held in the church hall immediately following the service. Interment
was in the Fishkill Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.

Edward J. Lynch
Wappingers Falls, NY
Edward J. Lynch, affectionately know as “Mr. Ed” because of his girth, white mane and loquacious nature, died of cancer Friday, at the age of 76. He was a member of Blessed Kateri Parish in LaGrangeville, New York. He had been the liaison for Kateri with the Roman Catholic Initiation for Adults (RCIA) process at St. Columba Parish. Formerly a Brother of the Sacred Heart, he taught in the South, in New York City and in Kenya. After leaving the Brothers, he spent twenty-four years teaching in Chappaqua public schools. He gave guest lectures at Pace University, SUNY New Paltz, and taught as an adjunct professor at Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh. More recently, he served in the Marshall Islands as a missionary, with his wife, under the auspices of the Lay Mission Helpers of Los Angeles. Just days before passing, he was recognized by the Archdiocese of New York Permanent Diaconate for his service instructing and mentoring deacon candidates in their study of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Born in Manhattan, he went to elementary school at St. Luke’s in the Bronx, high school in Metuchen, New Jersey, college at Spring Hill, Alabama, and earned his Master’s Degrees from St. John’s in Jamaica and St. Joseph’s in Dunwoodie. He also attended several other colleges and universities. He received fellowship grants from the Newberry Library in Chicago to study Native American history, Poverty at SUNY in Albany, and Kiswahili at UCLA. He enjoyed travel, basketball, bridge and studying.
He leaves behind his beloved spouse, Donna Hughes Lynch; and two children, Edward Thomas “Ted” Lynch (daughter-in-law, Michelle Lynch and their three children, Grace, Gwyneth and Kevin), and Maura Jo “MJ” Lynch (son-in-law, Roger Raymond, and their daugher, Acadia Beatrice). He was predeceased by his infant son, Kevin.
Ed is also survived by his sister, Alice O’Shea of Yorktown Heights; a brother, Daniel A. Lynch of Chesterfield, Virginia; a cousin, James Ferris of Vancouver, Washington; a sister, Regina Bohorquez of Escondido, California; and a brother, Raymond Lynch of Kennesau, Georgia. His brother, Richard Lynch, predeceased him.

Barry W. Tripp

Barry W. Tripp, 66, of Nassau, NY, formerly of Rhinebeck and Red Hook, NY, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006 at his home.
A truck driver, Barry drove for many years for Hannaford Supermarkets and for Freihofer’s Bakeries.
He was an avid race car fan and driver, driving for many years at various area race tracks including Lebanon Valley and Fonda Speedway.
Born May 11, 1940, in Rhinebeck, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Catherine (Minkler) Tripp. He graduated from Red Hook High School.
Barry is survived by his two sons and their wives: Scott W. & Sophie Tripp, and Gary T. & Bridget Tripp, all of Myrtle Beach, SC, a brother: Elmer Tripp of Conway, SC, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, Nov. 13th, at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 S. Broadway Red Hook. The Rev. Ryan T. Nace will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday before the service from 1:30 - 2:30 PM.

Margherita Fenaroli

Margherita Fenaroli, 75, of Red Hook, NY, died Wednesday, February 21st, 2007 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Margherita Fenaroli was born in a small farm community called Posso near Borgotaro, Italy. She came into this world on March 22, 1931. She immigrated to Switzerland when she was 16 to learn and work as a tailor of fine men’s clothing. Subsequently she immigrated to America where she worked for Roger’s Peet, tailors of men’s clothing.
In 1953, she married Arthur L. Fenaroli. They had three children and lived in Asbury Park, NY, Edgewood, MD, Baltimore, MD, Kingston, NY, Charlotte NC, Rhinebeck, NY and Red Hook, NY.
In addition to her loving husband, she is also survived by her brother; Joe (Giusseppe) Tambini of Rhinebeck, a sister; Maria Zazzi of Borotaro, Italy, her three children; Arthur Peter Fenaroli & his wife Jacqueline of Red Hook, Diane Hagan of Kings Park, NY, and Christopher Fenaroli & his wife Leslie of Oakland, CA, and her four grandchildren, Christine, Brian, Gianna and Matthew.
Her final words were to wish her family and friends, good and happy lives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 24th, 2007 at St. Christopher's Church, Red Hook, NY. Interment
will be at Friends Upton Lake Cemetery, Clinton Corners. A reception will follow at the Beekman Arm’s in Rhinebeck, NY.
