Marie Guzzetti, Middletown, died peacefully in her sleep on February 21st, 2007 at Valley View Center for Nursing Home in Goshen, NY.
The daughter of Michael and Josephine Terrone Lastella, Marie was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 17, 1919. She was the widow of Pasquale Guzzetti: they were married for 57 years.
Marie retired from Clemson Brothers at the age of 62 and enjoyed a long and active retirement. Long time members of St Joseph Catholic Church, the couple were actively involved in the Wallkill Seniors and the Happy Seniors, collecting many friends along the way. She was a devoted, loving wife and mother. Her grandchildren, whom she doted on and spent much time with, affectionately called her Nonnie.
Marie was predeceased by her husband Pasquale, daughters Susanne Guzzetti and Maryann Stokes and a granddaughter Jacqueline Korish. Surviving is one daughter, Diana Kornish, son in laws Lewis Kornish and Daniel Stokes, five grandchildren: Deborah Sacco, Yvonne Masse, Sean Decker, Tina Matthews and Jesse Hogencamp, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday February 22, 2007 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at Morse Funeral Home Inc, 33 Railroad Ave, Midletown,N.Y. Patricia Gelderman, age 70 , late of Shohola, Pa., a retired bookkeeper for Flexible Fabricators, Port Jervis, New York, and secretary and teacher's aide for Delaware Valley School System, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, New York.
The daughter of Orville Myers and Lyversa Beisel Myers, Patricia was born in Port Jervis, New York, on January 15, 1937. She married George A. Gelderman on August 10, 1959 at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
Patricia is survived by her husband George Gelderman at home, 1 son; George Gelderman and his wife Rachel, Montague, N.J., 2 granddaughters; Diana and Georgia Gelderman, 1 brother; Robert Myers of Maryland, 1 niece; Kristen and her loving dog, Snowflake.
Memorial Services will be announced at later date.
Intermet will take place at Montoza Cemetery, Barryville, New York.

James V. "Jimmy" Romano
Fishkill, NY
James V. “Jimmy” Romano, 59, a resident of Fishkill and formerly of Arizona, died on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie.
Born on October 2, 1947 in the Bronx, he was the son of Dom and Jean DeSantis Romano. He served in the US Army and was employed as a manager for Hostess in Elmsford for 20 years until his retirement in 2000. He was an avid softball player and he coached Little League.
On September 19, 1974 in the Bronx, he married Margaret “Rita” McAuliffe who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Jim Romano of Fishkill; his brother, Victor Romano and his wife, Rose of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Jackson Street, Fishkill.

Jean Louise Ulrich Garlinghouse, 38, of Middletown died unexepectedly Friday, February 16th, 2007 at home.
Born in Middletown, NY on June 13, 1968, she was the daughter of the late William Ulrich and Louise Cherry Seamans; who survives her of Middletown, NY.. She was employed as a Deli Manager at Hanaford's Middletown, NY., A graduate of Pine Bush High School, Jean was a loving mother and wife, a caregiver for her mother, husband and children. She was always caring for
others, giving comfort to those who needed her, with her warm bubblie personality.
She is survived by her husband Oliver 'Ollie" Garlinghouse at home. her son Sean Thomas Hatch three daughters Martika Elizabeth Hatch, Billiejean Garlinghouse, Nicole Amber Garlinghouse and grandson Julian Thomas Hatch all of Middletown, her mother Louise Seamans and her step father Perry of Middletown, 4 sisters Deborah Ann Ulrich Hock and her husband Scott of Middletown., Joannie Marie Ulrich Bailey and her husband Danny of Cleveland, TN., Lori Easter Ulrich Kalata and her husband John of Las Vegas, NV and several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her daughter Shanna Hatch, 2 nieces Cynthia Hock and Charlene Hock.

Eileen Brown, 47, of Hopewell Junction died on Friday, February 16, 2006 at Westchester Medical Center in Mount Pleasant.
She was born in New York City on December 22, 1959, the daughter of Peter and Marjorie Morrison Kane. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service.
On May 12, 1993, she married Robert Brown who survives at home. She is also survived by her children, Diane and Samantha Grix and Marc Brown; her parents, Peter & Margie Kane of the Bronx; her mother-in-law, Tina Brown of Yonkers; her siblings, Peter Kane and his wife, Paula of Fleetwood, Michael Kane of the Bronx, Theresa Caceci and her husband, Michael of Rochester, Thomas Kane, Madge McKeever and her husband, Dennis of Croton-on-Hudson and James Kane and his wife, Lynna of Yonkers; and her nieces and nephews, Chris, Steve and Valerie Kane, Caroline and Camille Caceci, and Dennis, Sloan and Kane McKeever.

Lelo C. Howe, 82, a resident of Glenham for over 45 years, died on Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Fishkill Health Center.
Born in Cochecton, NY on November 19, 1924, she was employed by Lane’s 5th Avenue, Poughkeepsie for 35 years until her retirement in 1985. During World War II, she was a forman for the U.S. Rubber Company. She was a member and Sunday School Teacher at Christ Methodist Church, Beacon and was active with the Girl Scouts in Glenham for many years.
On April 1, 1945 in Beacon, she married Paul E. Howe. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Sharon Howe Forsythe and her husband, Glenn R. of Hopewell Jct. and Yvonne A. Howe of Hopewell Jct.; her granddaughter, Karla Papula of Hopewell Jct.; her sister, Ruth Schneider of Lake Ariel, PA; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Cora Schunemen.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home followed by interment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

Cathleen A. Cavalier, 60, a resident of Wappingers Falls for six years and formerly of Montrose, died on Friday, February 16, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie.
Born in the Bronx on February 14, 1947, she was the daughter of John and Charlotte Bach Felleman. She was employed as a hairdresser at Roseanna’s Beauty Salon, Wappingers Falls. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Wappingers Falls and enjoyed spending time at the beach but she especially loved her family including her grandchildren and her friends.
Survivors include her mother, Charlotte Felleman of Wappingers Falls; her daughters, Stephanie Gallaher and her husband, Todd of Wappingers Falls and Danielle Gallaher and her husband, Peter of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Tyler, Colin and Christian; her step-grandchildren, Kevin and Sean; her sisters, Jean M. Fiorito of Hopewell Junction and Diane Mary Boorom of Cold Spring; her brothers, John P. Felleman of Highland and Michael M. Felleman of Hopewell Junction; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Paul S. Felleman.

Camilla T. Terracino a life time resident of Middletown passed away Thursday, Febuary 15 at Park Manor Nursing Home. She was 85 years old.
She was born on October 27, 1921 in Middletown, NY to Albert and Filomena DiVanzo Juliano. Camilla worked as a waitress at Tony Boffa's Restarant for over 30 years until she retired.
Camilla is survived by three daughtersTheresa Barczak her husband Walter of Middletown, Phyllis Savaglio her companion William Rauh of Middletown, Frances Doyle and husband John of St. Johnsville, NY and one son Robert Terracino his wife Bradie of Virginia Beach, VA. Brother Jerry Juliano his wife Esther of Middletown,three step-sons Anthony, Vincent and Norman
Terracino and their families. Nine grandchildren Kyle Ieradi her husband Joseph, Toni Marie Bisio her husband Mark, Mary Stewert her husband Drew, Sharon Runnalls,Michael Runnalls his wife Brigitte, Christine Demara her husband Ronnie, Stacie Loyola her husband John, Frank Saltzberg his wife Julie, Kristen Sarvis her husband Robert, 22 great-grandchldren , several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband Salvatore Fano who was killed in action during World War II in 1945, her second husband Anthony Terracino who died in 1970 and her brother Joseph Juliano.

Inez Gorton, a homemaker and lifetime area resident, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wed. Feb 14, 2007. She was 99.
The daughter of the late Peter and Eldora Decker Bilyou, she was born on August 22, 1907 in Willowemoc, NY.
Inez was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. She was the widow of John T. Gorton who died in 1964.
A family statement reads “ Aunt Inez was very special to all her nieces and nephews. She was more like a mother to us than an aunt.”
Her survivors include a special niece, Henrietta Phelps of Liberty and several other nieces and nephews.
2 brothers, William Bilyou and Howard Bilyou and 4 sisters, Edna Soules, Nellie Gorton, Pearl Huebsch and Eliza Miller, predeceased her.

Lois W. Hansen, a longtime Liberty resident and retired teacher for Liberty Central Schools, died on Tuesday February 13, 2007 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. She was 85.
Born in Reading, Pa. on July 14, 1921, she was the daughter of the late David and Grace Florey Warner.
Lois was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Monticello. She was also a member of the Sullivan County Golf & Country Club in Liberty, the Liberty Garden Club, the Beaverkill Chapter of the DAR, the Audobon Society and was a former trustee of the Liberty Public Library.
Survivors include her loving husband, George K. Hansen at home; her daughter, Ginny Yaun and her husband Deming of Beacon, NY; 2 grandsons, Adam and Andrew Yaun and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Trina.

William E. Quicksell
Ft. Madison, IA
William E. Quicksell, 84, of Ft. Madison died Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 3:08 A.M. at his home. He was born the son of Ellis Booth & Florence Francis Holmes Quicksell on July 22, 1922 in Newburgh, NY.
Bill joined the National Guard in 1940 and was called to active Duty in the Regular Army. While fighting in the European Theatre with the 82nd Airborne, 101st Division, he invaded Normandy as a paratrooper. Later during the war, he was wounded in action and awarded the Purple Heart. He was released from active duty in 1945 and continued to serve in the National Guard for many years. At the age of 29, Bill received a valor award for crawling out on the ice on Muchattoes Lake in New York and saving the lives of two boys that had fallen through the ice.
Bill moved his family to this area in 1971. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, VFW Post #1805, American Legion and the NRA. Bill retired from DuPont as a supervisor after working there for 38 years.
He married June Mathews Yeoman on February 14, 1946 in Newburgh, NY.
Bill is survived by his wife June Quicksell of Ft. Madison; 2 sons: William Ellis Quicksell Jr. and his wife Wendy of Quartzhill, CA, Timothy Eugene Quicksell and his fiancé Christine of Merritt Island, FL; 3 daughters: June Mary Robinson and her husband Joe of Phoenix, AZ, Barb Ann Soto and her husband Hector of Tombstone, AZ, and Theresa "Terry" Marie Kraus of Keokuk, IA; 3 brothers: Thomas Frances and Clifford Douglas Quicksell, and Leighton "Butch" Carfora. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers: David Charfield, Charles Norman, Edward John, Robert Donald, and Patrick James Quicksell; 3 sisters: Dorothy Francis Maher, Mary Elizabeth Quicksell, and Elizabeth Catherine Quicksell; and one son-in-law: Daniel Kraus.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, February 16 at All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Connolly officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery in Keokuk with full military honors. Visitation is after 3 P.M. on Thursday with family meeting with friends from 6 to 8 at Greaves Mortuary and there will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7 P.M.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, Southeastern Community College Respiratory Care Program, or to Lee County Hospice.

Scott A. Tinn, 31, a resident of Bayonne, NJ since 2004 and formerly of Hoboken, NJ and Hopewell Junction, NY died on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born in Honolulu, HI on April 1, 1975, he is the son of Gregory and Barbara Rhodes Tinn who survive in Cary, NC. He has been self employed as a Day Trader at Shonfeld Securities, New York City for eight years and was a member of St. Dennis Church, Bayonne.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Steven Tinn and his wife, Jennifer of Clermont, FL; his fiance’, Kara Stern of Bayonne, NJ; his nephews, Hudson and Parker Tinn of Clermont, FL; his paternal grandparents, John and Lorraine Tinn of Johnson City, TN; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Albert and Margaret Rhodes.

Ronald C. Beseth, a lifelong Liberty resident, passed away on Tuesday Feb. 13, 2007 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 76.
The son of Fred and Evelyn Rohrback Beseth, he was born on June 24, 1930 in Liberty, NY.
He was a retired equipment operator for the Town of Liberty Highway Dept. and was a member of the Liberty Fire Dept.- Liberty Hose & Truck Co. #2. He was also the widower of Myrtle Decker Beseth, who died on Jan. 9, 1979.
Survivors include his three daughters, Sherri Rhyne and her husband Jed of Mongaup Valley, Darlene Page and her husband Eli of Livingston Manor and Bonnie Beseth of Liberty; 5 grandchildren, Jared and Jesse Rhyne, Ryan, Miranda and Kyle Page and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Beseth and a brother, Fred Beseth.
Visiting hours will be on Friday Feb. 16, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 Pm at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St., Liberty, NY. Liberty Fire Dept. will hold services at the funeral home at 7:30 PM.

Violet M. DeTraglia
Violet M. DeTraglia, 92, passed away peacefully and joined her loving husband, Thomas, on February 13, 2007. Violet was born on January 30, 1915 in Utica, NY to John and Florence Nelson Bunce. She was raised in Seekonk, MA.
On November 25, 1933, Violet married Thomas Anthony DeTraglia Sr., who predeceased her on August 20, 1992. They were married for 59 years.
Her family dates back to pre-colonial times coming over to Massachusetts in the early 1600’s. They were one of the original families who settled and founded Hartford, CT. The family moved to New York where her father, John Daniel Bunce, worked as an engineer, operating a steam shovel, building the Ashokan Reservoir.
Violet and Tom lived most of their life together in Boonville, New York. Violet was known as “North Country Vi,” being one of the first female square dance callers who performed regionally. She wrote her own original calls and was noted for her unique style of singing her calls as songs. She was honored during the centennial celebration in Lowville, New York with her image displayed on a banner.
She worked many jobs throughout her life including but not limited to: a chef, singer, nurse’s aid, and a restaurant manager in Hopewell Junction. Vi and Tom came to Hopewell Junction in 1972, to be near their family.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed many years of camping throughout the North Country, mainly at the St. Lawrence and the Great Sacandaga Lake. Her favorite past-time in her later years was to go to the local diner for a cup of coffee and good conversation.
She leaves two sons, Thomas A. DeTraglia, Jr. and his wife, Carol, Daytona Beach, FL., Clark DeTraglia and his wife Marilyn, Union Vale; two daughters, Ramona Croniser and her fiancé, Walter Gutshall, Hopewell Junction, Charlene Havens, Poughkeepsie; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Small of Sheffield, Ma.; Lela Marion of Kissimmee, Fla., Nellie Stupak of Canaan, Ct.; three brothers, Fred Bunce of Housatonic, Ma., Richard Bunce of Canann, Ct., James Bunce of East Corinth, Me., and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters: Minnie Markham and Etta Ives and three brothers. John Bunce, Jr., Joseph and Thomas Bunce.
The family will receive friends from 7 pm to 9 pm on Friday, February 16, at McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 17, 10am at St. Denis Church, Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, New York.

William (Bill) Minichino
Croydon, PA
Bill (Muff) Minichino (64) died Sunday, February 4th at his home in Croydon, Pennsylvania after an illness. Born on November 15, 1942 in the Bronx, he was one of six sons born to the late Frank and Rosemary (Peet) Minichino.
As a teen in Yonkers, he and his younger brother Tom were members of the Volunteer Life Saving Corp and Naval Reserve. Of age, Bill enlisted for active duty in the Navy where he served from July 1961 – July 1963 on the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal
(CVA-59) stationed in Norfolk Virginia. He participated in the Cuban Blockade, First Division Mediterranean Cruise and was a qualified helmsman. After his tour of duty he married MaryAnn (Taglio) of Dobbs Ferry. He was an active member in the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Fire Department during which he was employed as an electrician for Technicon Corporation in Tarrytown, N.Y.
In the mid 80’s Mr. Minichino moved to the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania where he met his current wife Jane (West) and married on September 27, 1986. Bill was employed by Pep Boys Inc. in Philadelphia and was a member of the Newport Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving is his wife Jane (Croydon, Pennsylvania), daughter Marianne Liakos (Verbank Dutchess County), son Billy (Ardsley Westchester), brothers Tom (California), Rich (Lake Peekskill Putnam), Don (Stormville Dutchess), Shawn (Yonkers Westchester), 5 grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews. Bill’s older brother Frank predeceased him.
Mr. Minichino’s wishes are cremation and his ashes spread off the deck of his beloved Navy ship USS Forrestal. A memorial mass will be held on February 15th in Pennsylvania. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tomlinson Funeral Home in Bensalem Pennsylvania (215) 639-0422.

Donald S. Simmons
Walden, NY
Donald S. Simmons, 78, a life-long resident of Walden, passed away on February 11, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh, NY, surrounded by his family.
Don was born in Walden to Sheldon M. Simmons and Eva Burckley Rusk.
He served in the U.S. Navy on the Aircraft Carrier, USS Hornet, in the Second World War and the Korean War.
Don was a NY State Correction Officer for 32 years, most of which were with the Wallkill Correctional Facility. He was also a Sgt. in the Town of Montgomery Police Dept. He graduated from Walden High School and attended Orange County Community College and St. Lawrence University, Canton, NY.
He was a member of the American Legion William Deacon-Joel Cook Post #158 and Walden Memorial Post 2946 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Mary-Susan (Wallack) Simmons, a teacher at Newburgh Free Academy
and 3 loving children: Captain Gregory Patrick Simmons, U.S. Army and his wife Connie of Nashville, TN, Mark McKinley Simmons of Albany and also Melissa Maureen Simmons of Walden, who put her life on hold to care for her Daddy. His is also survived by his grandchildren Parker and MariJayne Simmons and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A family statement reads: He lived his life with humor, honor and selflessness. It was a true blessing to have him as a husband and father. He was a devoted friend to his 5 lb. Chihuahua, General Rambo.
His family is indebted to the staff of ICU at St. Lukes, especially Nurse Tammy.
As per his wishes, services will be private and burial will be at sea. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Walden, P.O. Box 135, Walden, NY 12586, in his name.

Florence M. Lynn
White Lake, NY
Florence M. Lynn, a longtime resident of White Lake,NY died Saturday February 10, 2007 at the Henderson Farm , Eastbrook Road in Walton,NY. Florence was born at the farm on Oct. 16,1904 to the late Thomas A. and Mary C. Tiffany Henderson. She was 102.
She was baptized May 6, 1905 and would spend her childhood at Eastbrook Farm. A teacher, she began her career of 33 years teaching in various local rural schools in the Walton area, and then later in Sullivan County.
She married Victor J. Lynn on Sept. 9,1939 and retired from teaching at the Duggan School in White Lake in 1971. Florence was a faithful member of the White Lake Reformed Presbyterian Church(Covenanter) where she served as deaconess and treasurer for 25 years.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce E. Lynn of Beaver Falls, Pa and a sister Mrs. Katherine (Walter) Eells also of Beaver Falls, Pa .She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, as well as some cousins.
She was pre deceased by 2 brothers Vernon and Thomas Henderson, and special sister in law Cora (Mrs. Thomas) Henderson, with whom she lived the last several years of her life.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday Feb. 13, 2007 from 11AM till 1PM at the White Lake Reformed Presbyterian Church (Covenanter) Route 17 B and Mattison Road White Lake, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM, with luncheon to follow at Faith Hall and interment beside her husband Victor at the Stewart Cemetery Kauneonga Lake at 3:00 PM.

Edward W. Rupprecht
Lake Katrine, NY
Edward "Eddie" W. Rupprecht of Lake Katrine, New York went to the Lord Thursday, February 8, 2007 at age 74 in Kingston, New York.
The only son of Peter and Rose Rupprecht, he was born April 22, 1932 in Port Chester, New York but was raised in the Bronx on Arthur Avenue, where he developed a lifelong love of classical music frequenting the Old Met and Carnegie Hall. All who knew Ed quickly became aware of his strongly held musical tastes and deep Christian faith.
Following a tour in the Army during the Korean Conflict and fifteen years with the Conover Mast Publications in New York City, he moved to Gardiner in the 60's. Ed operated the Stone gas station and luncheonette at Ireland Corners for many years and recently retired from Virtis Corporation.
There are no known survivors.
On Tuesday, February 13, at 1pm a graveside service will be held at the Bruynswick Rural Cemetery, 1166 Hoagerburgh Hill Road, Wallkill after gathering at the lower lobby of the Shawangunk Reformed Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements were made by the Wallkill Funeral Home.

Catherine A. Kearns, of Middletown, New York. died Friday, February 9th, 2007 at St. Teresa's Nursing Home, Middletown, NY. She was 79. Catherine was born in Middletown, NY on December 22, 1927, the daughter of Joseph and Hazel Hulse Lawlor. She was the widow of Frank E. Kearns Jr.
She retired as a bus driver for Mid-City Transit, Middletown. She is survived by 3 sons Richard Kearns and his wife Rosemary of Middletown., Thomas Kearns of Boston, MA., Stephen Kearns and his wife Debra of Middletown; 2 daughters Karen Kearns of Plattsburgh, Kelly and her husband Chris Czvik of Circleville; 2 brothers John "Jack" Lawlor and his wife Thelma of Ft Wayne, In and Joseph Lawlor Jr and his wife Melba of Middletown. 3 grandchildren Sean Kearns of Pine Bush, Tracie Kearns and Ryan Kearns of Middletown.

Richard A.B. Mitchell

Richard A. B. Mitchell of Monticello, passed away on Friday April 6, 2007 at his home. He was 78.
He was born in Monticello on September 14, 1928 to the late John and Laura Pierce Mitchell.
He served in the US Navy during WW 2. He was an honors graduate of Union College, and a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church.
He worked at Sullivan County Community College in Loch Sheldrake as a mailroom supervisor.
He is survived by one sister Eileen Hamilton of Warwick, one niece Laura Gilliam and husband James of Rock Hill and 1 great niece Heather Brosnan of Pine Island. He was pre deceased by one brother William Mitchell and one nephew Joseph Hamilton.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. Cremation was at the convenience of the family at Cedar Hill Crematory Newburgh.

Jay S. “Stead” Whitaker, a long time resident of Monticello, died on Saturday April 7, 2007 at his home with his family at his bedside. He was 99.
He was born in Weehawken, NJ on June 9, 1907 to the late Jay Fisk and Ida Field Whitaker. He was the widower of Helen Hasbrouck Whitaker who died August 5, 1990.
“Stead” was a retired electrical inspector for the New York State Board of Fire Underwriters. He served on the Sullivan County Electrical Licensing Board, and was a charter member of the Sullivan County Golf Club in Liberty. He served in the US Navy during WW 2.
He is survived by one son Robert and wife Eileen of Mountaindale, 1 daughter Sally Whitaker of Monticello and two grandsons Brooks Whitaker of Tucker,GA and Colin Whitaker of Mountaindale, He was pre deceased by one brother Spencer Whitaker and one sister Mary Whitaker.
Cremation was held at the convenience of the family at Cedar Hill Crematory Newburgh.
A memorial service will be held at Ramsay’s Funeral Homes,Inc. 275 South Main Street Liberty on Thursday April 12, 2007 at 11 AM. Rev. David Coon will officiate.
The family has requested that donations be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan 800 Stony Brook Court Newburgh, NY 12550 in memory of Mr. Whitaker.

Helen Frances Duggan

Helen Frances Duggan, of Middletown died Tuesday, April 10th, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center at Horton. She was 72.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island on August 5, 1934, she was the daughter of William and Anna Coggshell Friend. She was the widow of Robert F. Duggan, whom she married on September 27, 1958 and who died on January 4, 1992.
Helen graduated from Tufts University with a BA in Biochemistry, she was captain of the women's softball and basketball teams. She retired as a Teacher's Assistant at Middletown School District and was active with Middletown Little League, Babe Ruth League and Kiwanis Soccer.
One of her greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She was an advid Red Socks fan. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by six children, Dr. William P. Duggan and his wife Cynthia, their children Robert & Stephanie of Congers, Kevin F. Duggan and his wife Michele, their children Jennifer and Christine of Middletown, Daniel J. Duggan and his wife Darcy and their children Eric of Middletown and Gailen of Godeffroy., Michael S. Duggan and his sion Ryan of Middletown., Brian P.
uggan and his fiance Ann Marie and children Wade, Breanna & Conner of Middletown Katherine A. Codella and her husband Jeffrey and their son Joshua of S. Attleboro, MA, two sisters Anna Friend and , Margaret Hatch of Newport, RI. several nieces and nephews.

Frank Joseph Vente, Jr of Wallkill, NY, a retired Machine operator for Champion Bag, Walden and a longtime resident of the area died Sunday April 8, 2007, in Newburgh. He was 70.
The son of the late Frank Joseph Vente, Sr and Anna Mary Smuiski Vente, he was born December 22, 1936 in New York City.
He was a member of the Champion Quarter Century Club and Most Precious Blood Church, St. Benedicts Chapel, Wallkill.
