Elizabeth "Liz" Barlow, a longtime Middletown resident, died peacefully on October 1, 2001 a her home in Acworth, GA. She was 49.
The daughter of the late Clifford Barlow and Ann Meyer, she was born October 20, 1951 in Middletown, NY.
She worked at a number of area restaurants including Mama Brava and Club 84. She was most recently employed as a paralegal in Middletown by the firm of Hayword, Parker and O'Leary and the firm of Hicks, Casey and Barber in Georgia.
She is survied by her children Corey Begeal (28), an officer with DeKalb County Police, and her daughter Breanne Barlow (21), a student.
There will be visitation with the family and a memorial service on Monday, October 8, from 5-7 p.m. at the Morse Funeral Home, Inc., 33 Railroad Avenue, Middletown, NY.

William T. Munderville of Montgomery, NY died Monday, October 2, 2001, in St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh, NY. He was 78. He was born August 5, 1923 in Stony Point, NY.
He was the son of Frances Kelly and William J. Munderville. Mr. Munderville was married to Norma Watson who survives him at home.
He was a long time area resident, a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge, a retired carpenter for Local 964 in New City, NY, a retired lather for Local 499 in Newburgh, NY, and an Army WWII veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Norma, one son, william T. Munderville, Jr. of Montgomery, NY, one granddaughter, Andrea Gilson, of Doylestown, PA, one great grandson, Justin, and one great granddaughter, Alyssa.
There will be no visitation. Services will be private.

Ruth J. Lockwood VanBenthuysen of Newburgh, NY died Monday, September 24, 2001 in St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh. She was 75. She was born May 9, 1926 in Newburgh, NY to Eunice Shaw and Edward Lockwood.
She was married to the late Joseph W. VanBenthuysen.
Mrs. VanBenthuysen was a lifelong resident, a retired assistant manger of operations services for New York Telephone, a graduate of NFA Class of 1944, a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and AARP.
She is survived by two brothers, Frank Lockwood of Wallkill, NY and Edward Lockwood of Avon Park, FL, many nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation.
Services will be held at Cedar Hill Mausoleum on Thursday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Jack Hyatt officiating. Entombment will follow.

Judy M. Terry of Greenville, a homemaker and long time resident of the area, died Tuesday, September 25, 2001 at Arden Hill Hospital in Goshen. She was 82.
The daughter of the late George and Lucy Dockery Standback, she was born July 14, 1919 in Rockingham, North Carolina.
She was the widow of Lewis Terry.
Survivors include three sons, Lewis Terry and Fred Terry, both of Greenville, NY, and James Terry of Middletown, NY. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Louise.
Services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2001, at 10 a.m. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc., 72 West Main St., Middletown, NY. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Mary Louise Warden Stewart

Mary Louise Warden Stewart of Newburgh, wife of the late Thomas "Archie" Stewart, died Monday, September 24, 2001, at Arden Hill Life Care Center. She was 100.
Born in Newburgh on August 8, 1901, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Andrew Warden and Ella Florence Todd.
Mrs. Stewart was valedictorian of Newburgh Free Academy in 1919. She then graduated from Wellesley College in 1923, where she majored in history of art. In Newburgh, she studied voice with Ian Jackson and continued with Charles Adams White at the New England Conservatory while she was a student at the Wellesley College. She was a lyric soprano, sang in many Wellesley singing groups, and soloed with the Boston Pops. In Newburgh, she sang in concerts with Pattee Wallach as accompanist, and at radio station WGNY. She was often a guest soloist at the West Point chapel and sang in the Grace Methodist Church Coir for 30 years. After graduating from Wellesley, she married her childhood friend, Thomas A. Stewart on October 20, 1923. They had two daughters, Mary Stewart Hafer and Anne Stewart Sauls. She also has six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was delighted that one of her greate-granddaughters is now a member of the Welleskey Class of 2004. She continued her interet in art and studied painting with Colton Waugh and John gould. She became a painter of vivid loose impressionist oil paintings of scenes of the Hudson River and Powelton Golf Course. She also painted scenes of Cape Canaveral, FL, where she visited her daughter, Mary, and southern California, where she visited her daughter Anne. she joined the Pwelton Club in the late 1920s and was an avid golfter playing until the age of 94. She was a member of the Junior League of Newburgh; the Wuassaick chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Hudson River Mayflower; and the Officers Wives Club at Stewart Army Base Annex. Along with her late husband Archie, she took part in many activities at Stewart Field, which then became Stewart International Airport.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, September 28 at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Road, Town of Newburgh.
Graveside funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 29, at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.

Marsha Dian Bergmo, a longtime area resident, died September 15, 2001, at her home at Wanaksink Lake, after a long illness. She was 57.
The daughter of Charles and Grace Tindell Zemates, she was born July 26, 1944 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
She attended St. John's Catholic Church, Goshen, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Middletown and Amazing Grace Fellowship, Pine Bush. A member of the Wanaksink Lake Association, she was an avid fisherman who was good to everyone. She handled her pain and suffering well and is now with the Lord.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent Bergamo, at home; 10 children, Mary Eckerson and her husband Gary, John Murgolo and his wife Donna, Patrick Margolo and his wife Izumi, Wayne Bergamo, Dominick Murgolo, Keith Bergamo and his wife Janet, Joe Murgolo, Vince Bergamo and Linsdey Bergamo; six grandchildren, Rachel and Stacie Armbruster, Katrina, John and Douglas Murgolo and Jay Echerson; two brothers, Kenneth Geagley and his wife Floria, Arthur Geagley and his wife Edith; two sisters, Jewel Bennet and Lucy Geagley; one sister-in-law Mabel Geagley; 21 nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Murrel Geagley.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Hoose Cleary, at home, his son Roger Cleary and his wife Kathy of Montgomery, three grandchildren, Tara Mitchell and her husband Jim of Middletown, Keri Cleary and Shawn Cleary of Montgomery, and his great grandson Brenden Mitchell of Middletown.

Joseph William DiTullo, Sr., age 82, of New Windsor, MD, formerly of Highland, NY, died August 22, 2001 at Angelic Arms Senior Assisted Living in Taneytown, MD. Born October 10, 1918 in Beacon, NY, he was the son of the late Giuseppe S. and maria Fatina DiTullo. He was the husband of the late Rita DiTullo.
Mr. DiTullo was a retired attendant for Hudson River State Hospital. He was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He loved music and played the organ. He was of the Catholic faith and was devoted to his family.
Surviving are sons Edward A. DiTullo of New Windsor, MD, Joseph W. DiTullo of Oceanside, CA and Donald R. DiTullo of Southbury, CT; brothers Paul DiTullo of Wappingers Falls, NY, Michael DiTullo of Poughkeepsie, NY and Samuel DiTullo of Beacon, NY; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Clara M. DiTullo, and siblings Nicholas and Rose.

William Dolan, a retired group leader for the City of Middletown Fire Department, entered into rest on October 22, 2001 at Horton Medical Center. He was 54.
The son of the late Everett Dolan and Gladys Raymond Wilson, he was born February 2, 1947, in Monticello, NY.
He served in the Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, and was a member of Middletown Professional Firefighters Local 1027. His retirement was effective October 20, 2001. He was a memger of the Teen Board for the City of Middletown, past president of Middletown Youth Soccer League, past member of Pine Bush Colts Soccer league and the Hudson Valley Youth Soccer league. He also worked as a contractor intalling ceramic tiles.
He is survived by his wife Carol Milburn Dolan, two daughters, Kristin Dolan and Kasey Dolan, his mother, his brother-in-law Rick Milburn and his wife Shelley, all of Middletown, his sister Elaine Culver and her husband Ralph of New Hampton, nephew Rick Milburn and niece Kim Milburn, of Middletown, three step sisters, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict.
