Kelvin Morla of River Road died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie following a long illness.
He was born March 9, 1979 in Brooklyn.
He was a graduate of Brookside School and was attending the Children’s Rehabilitation Center of Kingston.
His surviving family includes his foster parents, Martin and Louise Benjamin and siblings Wesley, Brian and Joanne. Also, part of his family was Lisa, Abigail and Hunter Benjamin and his uncle Ed Redelberger.
Reposing at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 pm.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday at 10:30 am in Fairview Cemetery, Stone Ridge.
Tina KC Motluck
Port Ewen, NY
Tina KC Motluck of Hasbrouck St. died Thursday, November 11, 2004 at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She was 39.
She was born August 19, 1965 in Kingston, a daughter of James Ellsworth and Carole Oster Ellsworth.
She was a co-founder and operator of Call of the Wild Rehabilitation Center in Port Ewen. She was a member of the New York State Wild Life Rehabilitation Council and a member of Farm Sanctuary-East.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her partner, Lisa KC-Motluck and her sister, Dawn M. Ellsworth of Port Ewen.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Monday from 2 – 4 & 7 –9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Cremation will follow at Wiltwyck Cemetery.

Florence Bingert

Florence Bingert a longtime Beacon resident, entered into rest Thursday, November 11, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. She was 92.
Daughter of the late Vincenzo and Madelina Pietrogallo Giordano, she was born on March 18, 1912 in New York City.
She was married to the late Anthony Bingert who preceded her in death on December 11, 1988.
Mrs. Bingert was employed by Bobrich Manufacturing and Lewittes Furniture for many years. She was also a parishioner to the former St. Joachim's Church. Florence enjoyed playing solitaire and crocheting blankets and towels for her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter Evelyn Brown of La Mesa, California; two brothers, Vito Giordano of Montgomery, Alabama and Carmine Giordano of Beacon; four sisters-in-law; three grandchildren, Nolan Brown, Jr., Lisa Lewis and Michael Joseph Brown, all of California; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Dominick, Michael, Bartholemew, Joseph, Anthony and Lewis, and her sister Catherine.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Wednesday, November 17, at St. Joachim's, 61 Leonard Street, Beacon.
Interment
will follow in St. Joachim's Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.

Luz Maria Torres, a longtime Beacon resident, entered into rest Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was 52.
Daughter of the late Rafael and Aurelia Ortiz Torres, she was born July 25, 1952 in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico.
Luz was a seamstress at Dorel Hat Factory in Beacon.
Survivors include her husband, Alfredo Gonzalez, Sr. at home in Beacon; her son, Alfredo Gonzalez, Jr. of Beacon; her daughter, Melissa Gonzalez of Beacon; two grandchildren, Tatyana Elizabeth and Alphonse L. Julian Gonzalez; and her brother in Puerto Rico.
Visitation will be from 7-9 pm on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Friday, November 19 at St. John the Evangelist, Willow Street, Beacon where family and friends are asked to gather.
Interment
will follow in St. Joachim's Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.

Mrs. Millicent Rose Moheit of Barryville, NY a retired New York City School crossing guard and 5 year resident of the area, died Monday, November 15, 2004 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. She was 70.
She was born February 22, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Charles and the late Cora Slane McCue.
She was a member of the Canarsie Reformed Church, Canarsie, Brooklyn and the Order of Eastern Stars Lodge in Brooklyn.

Leon Crystal

Leon Crystal of Merritt Ave. died Sunday, November 14, 2004 at Kingston Hospital. He was 79.
He was born December 11, 1924 in Kingston, a son of the late Maurice and Eva Cohen Crystal.
Mr. Crystal was raised on the Crystal Family Farm on Salem St. in Port Ewen. He attended #13 Elementary School in Port Ewen, Kingston High School and the Utility Engineering Institute in Chicago.
He was a WW II veteran of the army serving in the Philippines with Company C of the 780th. Amphibious Tank Battalion.
He was a member and former board member of Congregation Agudas Achim, served on the United Jewish Appeal, a former board member of the Jewish Community Center and a member of Bnai Brith, Zephiniah Lodge. He was a life member of American Legion Post #1298, Port Ewen, Jewish War Veterans # 625, Poughkeepsie and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5086, Hurley. He also belonged to the Mason’s Lodge, #10 and it’s Craftsmen’s Club, the Elks Lodge, #550 and AARP. He was an avid bowler. He served as an advisor to Upsilon Lambda Phi, and fraternity for Jewish teenagers during the 1950’s.
An automotive mechanic, Mr. Crystal had worked for the former Jack Hayes Lincoln Mercury, DeMicco Motors, Gem Cadillac Oldsmobile, Prestige Cadillac. He was also a machinist for Ferraro’s Bowlerama.
On November 28, 1971 he married Shirley Sucknowitch Crystal who survives at home. Also surviving are his son, Rabbi Moshe Crystal and his wife, Charna and three grandchildren Nosson Tzvi, Chava Gittel, Miriam Nachama of Queens, three brothers, Philip of Las Cruces, NM, Israel of San Jacinto, CA, David of Liberty and a sister, Helen Glater of New London, CT.
A sister, Mabel Land died previously.
Many nieces nephews and great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 pm at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston by Rabbi Y. Yitzchok Hecht. Burial will follow in Montrepose Cemtery.
The family will sit shiva at the residence on Tuesday, Wednesday and thru noontime on Thursday. Shiva will continue on Thursday evening at the home of Rabbi Crystal in Queens.

Charles H. Tinsman

Charles H. Tinsman, a life-long area resident and a retired shipping clerk for Skydyne, Inc., Port Jervis, NY, died Saturday, November 13 at Middletown Park Manor. He was 82.
The son of the late Charles R. Tinsman and Ruth Brown Tinsman, he was born November 18, 1921 in Port Jervis, NY. He was married to the late Ruth Roberts Tinsman.
He was a Veteran of WWII, U.S. Army; member and past commander of Roosa-Fleming V.F.W., Post 161, Port Jervis; past Orange County adjutant. Survivors include one brother, William Tinsman and his wife June of Matamoras, PA; one sister, Frances Williams and her husband James of Matamoras, PA; two step-daughters: Norma Hill and her husband Bob of Colesville, NJ and Judith Long and her husband Edward "Ted" of Matamoras, PA; several step-grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren; one step- great great grandson. Also by his step-daughter-in-law Beverly Dexter of Matamoras, PA and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Catherine Johnson and his step-son Jim Dexter.

William P. "Billy" Molica, Jr.

William P. “Billy” Mollica, Jr., 11, of Red Hook, NY, died Thursday, December 9, 2004 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY following a long battle with cancer.
Billy loved school, and was a 6th grade student at the Linden Avenue School in Red Hook where he was on the Principal’s Honor Roll for the first marking period of this year. In addition to his love of school he loved stuffed animals and was a video game fanatic.
Born July 25, 1993, in Rhinebeck, he was the son of William P. and Nancy (Brown) Mollica, Sr. of Red Hook.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister: Lisa Mollica of Red Hook, his maternal grandmother: Nancy Brown of Tivoli, his paternal grandparents: Thomas & Janet Mollica of Red Hook, an honorary brother: Stephen Mendock of Red Hook, several aunts and uncles: Thomas Mollica, III, Denise & Kevin Asher, Debra Pero, Timothy & Melanie Mollica, and Michael & Erica Brown, all of Red Hook, Debra Moyer of Highland, NY, and Richard & Michelle Brown of Canajoharie, NY. Several great aunts and uncles as well as numerous cousins and many adopted community members also survive him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, Dec. 13th, at the United Methodist Church of Red Hook. The Reverend David Jolly of will officiate. Cremation will be at Wiltwyck Cemetery in Kingston.

John William Thompson

John William Thompson of Washington, D.C. died November 29th following a long illness. He leaves behind two daughters, Elizabeth Grace Thompson of Charlotte, NC, and Lesley Fahey Thompson of Washington, D.C., and his faithful companion, Doogie.
Mr. Thompson was born in Newburgh, New York, on April 7, 1948, the third child of Thelma and Harold Thompson. He was the younger brother of Richard and Carol. Mr. Thompson attended Balmville School in Newburgh and New York Military Academy, rising to Battalion Executive Officer and president of his senior class. He then entered Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, graduating with honors in English Literature in 1972.
At the time of his death, Mr. Thompson was employed as a probation officer for the D.C. Superior Court. He lived in Washington, D.C.

Joseph G. Brustman, a lifetime area resident, and retired auto parts wholesaler for South End Auto Parts in Liberty, died on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris. He was 84 years of age.
The son of the late Jacob and Mary Sator Brustman, he was born on October 16, 1920 in Obernburg. NY.
He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Liberty and was a World War II Army Veteran, achieving the rank of Sergeant and receiving the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and various other commendations. He was also a life member of Ontario Hose Co. #3 of the Liberty Fire Dept; a member of DAV Kelly-Ratner Post #198, Kauneonga Lake and Clarence Hoyt Post #9217 VFW, Liberty, NY.
Survivors include his wife of 53 Years, Helen Mesawich Brustman at home; one daughter, Linda McClenahan and her husband Ed of Roanoke, VA; three brothers, Fred Brustman of Obernburg, NY, Lt. Colonel William Brustman Retired of Obernberg and Clarence Brustman of East Haven, CT.; one sister, Ida Watson of Youngsville; one granddaughter, Lauren Hardt of South Bend, IN and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother George Brustman and three sisters Barbara Coger, Marie Mannion and Catherine Whatley.

Mr. Juchym ‘John’ Charczenko of Montague, NJ a retired engineer with Foster Wheeler Corp, Livingston, NJ former resident of Vailsburg, NJ and resident of the area since 1985, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004 at the Milford Senior Care Center, Milford, PA. He was 92.
He was born January 20, 1912 in Ukraine, the son of the late Theodosi and the late Maria Bechkal Charczenko.
He is married to Eugenia Jaroczevich Charczenko, who survives.
He was a member of St. Volodymyr's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Glen Spey; Ukrainian Congress Committee; Organization for the defense of Ukraine and a WW II concentration camp survivor, he was a member of the World Organization of Ukrainian Political Prisoners.
