Marie Genco Palermo of Pembroke Pines, FL and Brooklyn, NY died December 22, 2004 at her home with her children by her side.
Born in Rocca Palumba, Sicily, she emigrated from Italy to Brooklyn, NY in 1924 at the age of 11. With her mother, sister and 2 brothers they were reunited with her father, brother and two sisters who had arrived earlier in America.
One of seven children in a new land, she seized the opportunity that was afforded her to achieve her goals. As a woman and a precursor of her time she raised 3 children, put herself through
school received her degree in fashion design, and many of her designs were published in Bride magazine before she retired in 1978.
Marie loved life. Her talent exceeded at baking her wonderful anise cookies and crocheting beautiful doll dresses for family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing, socializing with her friends, teaching her grandchildren her favorite recipes and card games and e-mailing jokes to everyone she knew.
She also succeeded in instilling in her children the need for education and was extremely proud of them and their achievements.
She is survived by her three children, Dr. Rocco Palermo, Mrs. Josephine Barraco and Dr. Richard Palermo; one brother Frank Genco; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Burnett and White Funeral Home, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.

Robert I. Bacco
Parksville, NY
Robert I. Bacco, a retired sign painter and former employee of Grossman’s Tire Service in Liberty, died suddenly on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 81.
The son of Harry and Minnie Illing Bacco, he was born on November 1, 1923 in the Bronx.
Survivors include a son, Robert Bacco and his wife Debra of Liberty; a daughter, Verna Spina and her husband Mark of Liberty; his companion, Anita Schultis of Swan Lake and a grandson, Julian Spina.
Visitation will be held at Ramsay’s Funeral Home 275 S. Main St. Liberty on Monday Jan. 4, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday Jan. 4, 2005 at Ramsay’s Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Rev. Roy Shaffer officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Cold Spring Rd. Liberty.

Jessica Lynn Kelly, a 4th grade student at Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary School in Monticello, died on Friday December 31, 2004 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla. She was 10.
The daughter of Mark John Kelly and Lynn Hughes Kelly, she was born on May 10, 1994 in Harris, NY.
A family statement reads, “Jessica was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. The world will not be the same without her loving smile and friendship.”
Survivors include her father, Mark John Kelly of Monticello; her mother, Lynn Kelly of Vernon, NJ; her stepmother, Christine Powell of Monticello; 2 brothers, Mark Kelly Jr. of Vernon, NJ and Coltin King Kelly of Monticello and 1 sister, Athena Reign Kelly of Monticello.
Friends may call at Ramsay’s Funeral Home 55 St. John St. Monticello on Tuesday January 4, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Hillard officiating.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.

Patricia Anne Jenks

Patricia Anne Jenks, 43, of Hopewell Junction, died peacefully at Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mt. Kisco on January 1, 2005.
. She was born on September 11, 1961 in Plattsburgh, NY, the daughter of Theodore and Valerie Loos. She graduated from Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak in 1979 and attended Dutchess Community College. Patricia has resided in Dutchess County since 1986, formerly of Putnam Valley
On May 28, 1983, she married Douglas Jenks at St. Columbanus Church in Cortland Manor. Mr. Jenks survives at home, along with his three children: Douglas, Valerie and Ryan Jenks.
Patricia is also survived by her parents, Theodore and Valerie Loos; her sister, Deborah Shaw of Hyde Park; her brothers, Scott Loos of Putnam Valley; Steven Loos of Daytona Beach, FL; Richard Loos of Fort Pierce, FL; Vincent Loos of Garner, NC; and her mother and father-in-law, Karen and Carl Nuessle. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 7-9pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
Interment will follow at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.

Teresa Fata
Fishkill, NY
Teresa Fata, 82, of Fishkill since 1986 and formerly of the Bronx, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie.
Born on April 4, 1922 in Italy, she was the daughter of Domenick and Rose Filippelli Scaglione.
Mrs. Fata was a seamstress for Local 143 in Bronx for 50 years. She was a member of St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Fishkill.
On July 29, 1945 in the Bronx, she married Frank Fata. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa and her husband, Ted Duonola of Carmel, and Rose and her husband Rick Kozak of Wappingers Falls; and six grandchildren, Ted and his wife, Cheryl Duonola, Lori and her husband, Kevin Charbonniere, Chris Duonola, Rick Kozak and his fiancee, Jen Parker, Mike and Danielle Kozak, and Nicole Kozak; four great-grandchildren, Rachel and Alyssa Duonola, Destiny and Madison Kozak; brother, Joe Scaglione of New City; and sister, Mary Valentino of Nanuet; and many, many friends.
Calling hours are 7-9 p.m., Sunday, and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.

Gudrun M. Meluson
Wappingers Falls, NY
Gudrun M. Meluson, 63, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1969, formerly of Flushing, Queens, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Born Nov. 18, 1941 in New York City, she was the daughter of Anton and Gabriella Maurer Maier.
Mrs. Meluson was a registered nurse at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York City, for 32 years until retiring in 1994. She also worked as an assistant nurse for the Wappingers School District at Fishkill Plains Elementary School. She was a member of St. Denis Church, Hopewell Junction. She graduated from Lenox Hill Nursing School.
On July 11, 1964 in New York City, she married Rudolph Meluson. Mr. Meluson survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her daughter, Antonia Sedore and her husband, Dan of Woodbury, Conn.; her son, Fred Meluson and his wife, Laurie of Hyde Park; grandchildren, Sean and Connor Sedore and Elise Meluson.
Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.

Olive L. Varone, 84, an 18 year resident of Millbrook, formerly of Dover Plains, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Mrs. Varone was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in LaGrangeville.
Born Oct. 4, 1920 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Frederick and Rose Coates Pittman.
On Nov. 29, 1942 in Brooklyn, she married Dominick Varone.
Mr. Varone survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a son, Robert Varone of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Kathy Strennen of Plattekill, N.Y.; a sister, Myra Warner of New Jersey; grandchildren, Robert Varone Jr., Bryan Varone and Tracy Varone; great-grandchildren, Jayce Varone and Brooklyn Varone.

Dorothy M. Huber

Dorothy M. Huber, 85, a three year resident of Fishkill formerly of Queens, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie.
Mrs. Huber was a bar maid in Queens for 30 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Fishkill Senior Citizens. Born March 15, 1919 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Charles and Justine Sweitzer Henn.
On June 28, 1941 in Brooklyn, she married Herbert Huber, who died in June 1982.
Survivors include her son, Robert E. Huber and his wife, Barbara J. of Hopewell Junction; a sister, Evelyn Wieser and her husband, Linwood of Elizabethtown, Pa.; grandchildren, Robert M. Huber, Joanne Sturans and her husband, Robert and Nancy Huber; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler and Jessica Huber; Brianna and Kaylee Sturans; and Dashawn Greene.

Mark J. Medvene, 85, of Milford, PA, formerly of Park Slope, Brooklyn, Dec. 23rd in Port Jervis, NY.
He retired from the Air Force M/Sgt with distinction as a WW II Veteran as a weather forecaster serving in Hawaii, Japan & France.
He later retired as an Occupational Analyst with NYS Dept. of Labor at World Trade Center.
He is survived by his friends Ellyse Vitiello and Dr. Leonard Seidner of New York City and Hemlock Farms, PA

Herbert R. Ryerson

Mr. Herbert R. Ryerson of Port Jervis, NY, retired owner of Swinton Plumbing & Heating and resident of the area for most of his life, died Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 87.
He was born December 23, 1917 in Branchville, NJ the son of the late George and the late Jennie Rome Ryerson.
He was married to Dorothy E. Westbrook Ryerson, who survives him.
A former City of Port Jervis Plumbing Inspector, he was a World War II Navy veteran serving on the Battleship New Jersey.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Dorothy are his son David Ryerson & his wife, Joy of Glen Spey, NY; 4 grandchildren Scott Ryerson, Karen Stuart, Dena Wood, and Nicole LaPearl; 6 great-grandchildren Tiffany Ryerson, Devon Stuart, Paige Stuart, Ryan Wood, Lauren Wood and Alyssa LaPearl; also nieces & nephews.

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Howard Penn Hudson
Rhinebeck, NY
Lt. Col. (Ret) Howard Penn Hudson, APR, Rhinebeck, New York, died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, January 1, 2005. He was the son of the late William and Ruth Luscombe Hudson, and a descendent of Henry Hudson, William Penn, and Ralph Waldo Emerson. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and attended Chicago public schools. He graduated from the University of Chicago, where he was editor-in-chief of the Daily Maroon, the college newspaper, and elected president of the Big Ten Student Newspaper Association. He was also president of his fraternity, Kappa Sigma. After graduation, he worked for United Press and the Chicago Daily News. He was Executive Director of the University of Chicago Institute of Military Studies.
He served in World War II in Patton's Third Army in Germany.
He was with the Army Historical Division, and assigned the writing of the Ardennes, "Battle of the Bulge." Later, his commanding officer, the distinguished military historian S.L.A. Marshall, promoted him to Major, and he was responsible for rounding up the 500 surviving German generals, and obtaining a detailed history of the combat operations in which they were engaged. Thus, for the first time in history, historians could learn what the other side was doing at the same time as our operations.
After the war, he joined the National Planning Association as Director of Information Specializing in radio.
He was President of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of Public Relations Society of America, and served three terms as chairman of PRSA Education Committee.
He founded Public Relations Quarterly in 1955, and until his death, remained Editor-Publisher.
He joined Ruder and Finn in 1960 as Director of Washington Operations.
In 1968, he started Hudson's Washington Directory now in its 38th year. It is the comprehensive guide to the entire Washington, D.C. press corps, broken down by categories. In 1985 a copy of the Directory was placed in the new cornerstone of the National Press Building.
He was President of Hudson Associates, Rhinebeck, NY, and President of the Newsletter Clearinghouse. He had published 'The Newsletter on Newsletters," and received the Life/Founder Award from the Newsletter
Publisher's Association in 1977, and was Publisher of the Year from that organization in 1992. Howard was inducted into the Public Relations Society of America's Capital Chapter'Hall of Fame, Washington, in 2001. He became a member of the College of Fellows of the Public Relations Society of America in 2002.
He was also the author (with Harry J.Johnson, M.D.) "Eat, Drink, Be Merry, Live Longer" Doubleday,1968, author of "Publishing Newsletters", 1982,Charles Scribner's Sons, second edition 1988, third edition 1998.
He was a member of the now defunct Lambs Club, New York, the Federal City Club, Washington, The Army and Navy Club, Washington, The Marines' Memorial Club, San Francisco, National Press Club, Washington, and Overseas Press Club, New York.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, of 39 years, Mary Elizabeth Hudson.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine Newman Hudson, whom he married in 1989, and his loving stepchildren, Barrett and Christine Newman, Washington, DC, Seth and Nicole Newman, Boston, MA Jennifer Newman and Jamali Ford, New Haven, and Dr. Lisa Newman and Dr. Ian Stuppel of Binghamton, NY .He is also survived by his very beloved grandsons, Keith Albert Newman, Washington, Oliver Penn Newman and Milton Alexander Newman, Boston, and Alexander Louis Stuppel, Binghamton. and his dear friends, Neil and Cindy Piller and family, Longmont, Colorado.

Maria Lisa Ceglio Miglino

Maria Lisa Ceglio Miglino, 41, passed away, Wednesday, December, 29, 2004, following a long courageous battle with cancer, at the Kingston Hospital with family by her side.
Maria was raised in Yonkers and graduated from Westchester Community College. Prior to moving to Rhinebeck in 1992 she was a Pediatric Nurse at the White Plains Hospital and Westchester Medical Center.
Maria was a devoted mother and enjoyed cooking, gardening and the ocean. She was a member of the Good Shepherd/St. Joseph’s Parish, Rhinebeck.
Born March 30, 1963 in Westchester Square, Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of Michael and Lucille (Schrieber) Ceglio of Bronxville.
Maria is survived by her husband Robert Miglino of Rhinebeck.
Maria is also survived by a son Christopher Ceglio, a daughter Anne E. Miglino, a step-son Paul Miglino, two sisters Patricia Ceglio Tresca of Montrose and Susan Ceglio Tresca, her parents Michael and Lucille Ceglio; her paternal grandparents Thomas and Carmella Ceglio of New Rochelle, and 2 nephews Nicholas and Dean Tresca.

Ursula H. Good
Monticello, N.Y.
Ursula H. Good, of Monticello, died on Tuesday December 20, 2004 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris. She passed away in the company of her loving son, Henry, of complications from a stroke suffered on Dec. 14, 2004 after a long battle with heart disease.
The daughter of the late Karl and Martha Huldt Haacke, she was born on Jan. 17, 1921 in Potsdam, Germany.
Ursula was a retired x-ray technician, Co-owner and Secretary-Treasurer for her son’s trucking company and a tireless volunteer. After finishing nursing school, she served in the German Red Cross Lazarett Field Nurse Service.
After WW II, Ursula worked for US Military Command as a translator ending as a Documents Translator for the US Embassy in Bonn Bad Godesburg. She came to America with her son in 1955. She first lived in NYC and worked for Singer Sewing Machine Co. In 1956, she moved to Sullivan County. She first lived in DeBruce where she was the manager of the DeBruce Club Inn. In 1958, she moved to Livingston Manor. She was the head housekeeper at the Trojan Lake Lodge and assistant head housekeeper at Grossingers before returning to the medical profession. She went to work for Dr. Carl K. Heinz MD in Liberty and quickly learned to become an X-ray technician. Later when NYS required licensing, she passed on her first try. Later she worked for Dr. Heinz in his Monticello office with Dr. Breakey. In 1965, she moved to Monticello, and has lived there ever since. She also worked at Dr. Heinz’s Hamilton Ave. Hospital. Later she worked for Dr. Wolf Laitner in Woodridge and for the Monticello Hospital until it was replaced with Community General Hospital, now Catskill Regional Medical Center, where she was also a union delegate for Hospital Workers Union 1199. She also returned to Hamilton Ave. Hospital as head of the X-Ray Department. She retired from her medical career at Sullivan Internal Medicine. Over the years she also played an active role in her son’s trucking business as partner and secretary-treasurer. She also accompanied her son on several cross-country trips in his truck.
Ursula was also very active in the community and various volunteer organizations. She was a 30 plus year member of the Monticello Volunteer Ambulance Corp, where she served up until the time of her death. She also served a President of the Ambulance Corp’s Auxiliary and as a board member. Ursula was also a longtime member of the Monticello Fire Dept. Auxiliary. After her retirement, she became even more active in Volunteer Associations. She volunteered for many years at the Monticello Soup Kitchen. She was a longtime member of Sullivan RSVP and received several awards for her service of more than 1000 volunteer hours per year. Ursula was also a member of the Monticello Senior Citizens and was their Past President. She was also a longtime member of the Monticello Kiwanis Club and was their first female member. She had just finished serving as the club President and was still a board member. Ursula was also a 14-year member of Radio Station WJFF in Jeffersonville, where she hosted her show “Café Ursula” playing classical and European music. Recently on Dec. 2, 2004 Ursula was featured on nationwide TV on the Travel Channel doing her show. For a time, she was also Assistant Station Manager.
She was also an active board member of the Sullivan County Chapter of the Red Cross and was also a longtime CPR Instructor. Ursula was also the Liaison for Senior Citizens for Congressman Benjamin Gilman. She was a Charter Member of the Deutsch-Amerikan Club (DAC) of Bremen Germany since 1997. She has won several awards including Town of Thompson Senior Citizen of the Year, New York State Certificate of Merit and Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition.
In 1993, President George H. W. Bush gave Ursula one of his “Thousand Points of Light” Presidential Awards. She has also won numerous awards from Kiwanis; Salvation Army; American Heart Assn. and Monticello Volunteer Ambulance Corp. In the last year and a half, Ursula has been doing stand-up comedy at the Cream & Sugar Coffee Bar on open mike nights. Her parents, Karl and Martha Huldt Haacke, a sister, Gertrude Haacke Schueler and a niece, Giesela Bauer, all of Germany, predeceased her.
Survivors include her loving son, Henry R. Good of Monticello and her adoring nieces and nephews, Eberhard Schueler, Annelisa Hartmann, Ingrid Harder and Ilse Broecker, all of Germany and a close cousin, Karl Heinz Huldt of Potsdam, Germany.
Funeral services were held at the Monticello United Methodist Church, 445 Broadway, Monticello on Thursday Dec. 23, 2004. The Rev. Gene Smith officiated. Burial was in Rock Ridge Cemetery, Monticello.
Memorial contributions may be made the to Monticello Kiwanis Club, P.O. Box 413, Monticello, NY 12701 for the Ursula Good Scholarship for Medical Studies.

The daughter of John and Elaine Dauch Hofsommer, she was born on May 16, 1956 in Monticello, NY.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mongaup Valley and the Community United Methodist Church of Kauneonga ake.
Survivors include her mother, Elaine Bell, of Mongaup Valley; a daughter, Shanna Nelson of Suffield, CT; 4 brothers, John Hofsommer and his wife Wendy of Monticello, James Hofsommer of Mongaup Valley, Jeffrey Hofsommer of Daytona Beach, FL and Todd Hofsommer and his wife Lisa of Pine Bush; 3 sisters, Theresa Foster of Deland, FL; Kathy Kearney and her husband Dennis of Thompsonville and Melody Williams and her husband Charles of Wawarsing and 2 grandsons, Alexander and Connor.
Her father John Hofsommer and her husband Rex Walter predeceased her.
Friends may call at Ramsay’s Funeral Home 3534 State Rt. 55 Kauneonga Lake on Friday December 31, 2004 from 2-6 PM.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.

Herbert W. Dunn
Hurleyville, NY
Herbert W. Dunn, a self-employed carpenter and lifelong area resident, died on Monday, Dec. 27, 2004 at Achieve Rehab & Nursing Facility in Liberty. He was 82.
The son of the late Wilbert and Ida McCombs Dunn, he was born on Feb. 23, 1922 in Wurtsboro, NY.
A family statement reads, “He was a sweet kindhearted man who loved telling stories and funny jokes. He loved singing and playing the accordion. He loved his wife, Virginia, very much and often said she was the best thing that ever happened to him.”
Herbert was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Loch Sheldrake. He was also a World War II Army Air Force Veteran where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was a B29 gunner on flights over Burma and the Central Pacific.
His sister, Virginia DeGraw of Hurleyville; 2 nephews, Robert DeGraw and his wife Debbie of Hurleyville; Ronald DeGraw and his companion Cora of Neversink; 1 niece, Lisa Wilsen and her husband Llyle of Hur]eyville and several great-nieces and great-nephews survive him. He is also survived by numerous stepchildren and step grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Virginia Ackerley Dunn in 2003.
Friends may call at the Calvary Baptist Church on Thursday Dec. 30, 2004 from noon to 2 PM at which time funeral services will be held. Rev. Carl Caskey will officiate.
Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Grahamsville immediately following the funeral services.

Anne E. Feldman, a homemaker and 50-year area resident, died on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris. She was 82.
The daughter of the late Jesse and Sarah Nones Bullowa, she was born on Oct. 1, 1922 in New York City.
Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra Feldman of Saugerties, NY and Wendy Brinn of Chichester, NY; 3 grandchildren, Adam Brinn, Jessica Brinn and Jacob Estrada.
Anne was the widow of Bert Feldman who passed away on Feb 2, 1999.
She was predeceased by 3 sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret Bullowa and Jean Reavey and 1 brother James Bullowa.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
A memorial service will be held on Sat., Jan. 8, 2004 at 1 PM at the Feldman residence on Creamery Rd. Mongaup Valley, NY. Please call 845-583-6174 for directions.

Betty A. Pavlick Halley Hurley, a lifelong Beacon resident, entered into rest Monday, December 27, 2004 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Soltish Pavlick, she was born in Beacon.
She was married to Thomas P. Halley, Sr., Mr. Halley preceded her in death November 23, 1987. She was also married to Patrick Hurley. Mr. Hurley survives at home in Beacon.
In addition to her husband, Patrick Hurley, she is survived by her son, Thomas P. Halley, Jr. of Poughkeepsie, her sister, Marjorie Corrado and her husband, Anthony; her three beloved grandchildren, T. Patrick Halley, III, Margaret Alice Halley, and James Joseph Halley. In addition to her first husband, Thomas P. Halley, Sr., she was predeceased by her brothers, John and Louis Pavlick and two sisters, Emmy Stylarek and Pauline Pavlick.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Thursday, December 30 at St. John the Evangelist, Willow Street, Beacon.
Interment will follow in St. Joachim's Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations on Betty's behalf may be made to Knights of Columbus, Trinity Council # 445, Townsend Street, Beacon, NY 12508.

Mrs. Edith Riese of Liberty, NY, and formerly of Queens Village, NY died Monday, December 27th in Liberty, NY. She was 93.
She was born June 13, 1911 in New York, NY the daughter of the late Manheim and the late Rachel Friedman Sander.
She was married to the late Coleman Riese who died June 23, 1969.
She was a member of the Belle Park Jewish Center, Queens Village, NY.
A family statement read: “Edith lived through the major events of the 20th century. She was a caring grandmother to her six grandchildren.”
Surviving are her daughter: Enid Hersh & her husband Stanley of Monticello, NY; her son: Alan Riese of Brooklyn, NY; 6 grandchildren: Lisa Parker, Carrie Bass, Matthew Hersh, Caryn Ciccone, Michelle Goldberg & Corey Riese; 8 great grandchildren: Jessica, Coleman, Rilie, Loren, Hank, Joshua, Andrew & Arianna; 1 niece: Diane Singer of Purchase, NY; 1 nephew Stephen Sander of Montclair, NJ; and 2 great nephews: Nicholas Singer & Jeffrey Sander.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, December 29th at Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY with Rabbi Lester Polonsky officiating.
Shiva will be observed at the home of Enid and Stanley Hersh on Thursday, December 30th and until the afternoon on Friday, December 31st

Helen Elizabeth Jacques, 89, an eight-year resident of Fishkill and formerly of Hopewell Junction and Cold Spring, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at Putnam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Jacques was a homemaker and a member of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.
Born on July 22, 1915 in New York City, she was the daughter of John and Mary Walsh Garrett.
She married the late Michael W. Jacques, who died on Dec. 3, 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Irene McAliney and her husband, John of Hopewell Junction; a son, Thomas Jacques and his wife, Joel of Missouri; brothers, John Garrett of New Jersey and Thomas Garrett of Ossining; grandchildren, Thomas and Anne McAliney, Michael and Lisa McAliney, Brenda and Brad Porter; Stefany McAliney, and Thomas Jacques; great-grandchildren, Mikaela and Nicholas Porter; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, at McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
