Mr. Smith was born Sept. 13, 1942, and died June 7 in Westland. He was an assembler.
Surviving are his wife, Suzanne; sons, Donald Smith Jr. and Leonard Smith; daughters, Kelly (William) Hall, Karen (Paul) Cutsy and Kathryn (Andrew) Richter; sister, Janet (James) Hickling; and eight grandchildren, Angela, Alex, Adam, Lauren, Travis, Ryan, Seth and Sara.

IDA T. NICK
Services for Ida Nick, 66, of Westland were June 11 in Vermeulen Funeral Home with burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. Officiating was the Rev. Jack H. Baker.
Mrs. Nick was born July 5, 1935, in Detroit and died June 6 in Wayne. She was a teacher's aide for Wayne-Westland schools.
Surviving are her husband, Robert; son, David (Dawn) Nick of Newport, Mich.; brother, Adolph (Florence) Peressini of Troy; and four grandsons, Jim, Mark, Joseph and Dustin. Six nieces and nephews also survive.
NORA BAUER
Services for Nora Bauer, 44, of Lincoln Park were June 10 in Schrader-Howell Funeral Home with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Superior Township. Officiating was Rabbi Joshua Bennett.
Ms. Bauer was born Dec. 24, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio, and died June 7 in Lincoln Park. She was a supervisor for a half-way house in Lincoln Park. She came to Lincoln Park in 2000 from Plymouth.
Surviving are her mother, Bette Kozachenko of Canton; siblings, Lisa (Thomas) Lewandowski of Canton, Frederick Bauer of Farmington Hills and Kimberly Kozachenko of Westland; step-siblings, Kathleen Kozachenko of Pittsburch, Pa., and Keith Kozachenko of Indiana; niece, Alexis Bauer; and nephew, Justin Kozachenko.
Ms. Bauer was preceded in death by her father, Harold Bauer, and stepfathers, Marion Colvin and Walter Kozachenko.

MARIE E. KRUG
Services for Marie Krug, 76, of Canton were June 8 in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with burial at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, Livonia. Officiating was the Rev. Eli Salomon.
Mrs. Krug was born Oct. 22, 1925, in Perigueux, France, and died June 5 in Farmington Hills. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Clifford; sons, William (Patricia) Krug of Canton, Gregory (Nieve) Krug of Paris, France, Kenneth Krug of Ann Arbor and Alain Krug of Ann Arbor; sisters, Rosie Coffey of Westland and Emily Jestin of Lyon, France; and four grandchildren.

BENJAMIN J. REULAND
A wake is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, in Westland for Benjamin J. Reuland, 50, of Northville, who died suddenly June 8 while working in Wayne.
Mr. Reuland, a former employee at the Observer & Eccentric Newspapers, was a 1969 graduate of Stevenson High School in Livonia.
He earned two degrees from Schoolcraft College. He also attended Eastern Michigan University. He worked in the mailroom at the O&E for 21 years from 1974 to 1995.
Mr. Reuland was born July 12, 1951, in Aurora, Ill., to Karl and Mary Reuland. The family moved from Kansas to Livonia in 1969.
Mr. Reuland was described by friends and family as a loving father, friend and writer.
"Throughout his life, he wrote poems and essays, often about nature. From wood, feather and other bits he collected on his frequent hikes or while fishing, he created sculptures featured at Toledo Botanical Gardens.'' said longtime friend Annette Taylor, a journalism professor at the University of Dayton.
"He loved Michigan State University basketball, books, and music, and had a vast eclectic album collection. He had a poet's heart and sweet, mischievous smile.
"He said his greats gifts were his children - Aaron, 26, of Ypsilanti; Erik, 24, of Detroit and Rebecca, 19, of Livonia and a student at Columbia College in Chicago. He adored his new daughter-in law, Connie, Erik's wife,'' said Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary.
In addition to his sons, and daughter, other survivors include father, Karl of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Karla Matweychek of Westland and Martha Price of Fullerton, Calif.; brother, John of Spokane, Wash.; nephews, Scott Boze of Westland, Seth Boze of Taylor and Shawn Boze of Taylor, "Little'' Ben Reuland of Spokane and nieces, Noel Reuland of Spokane, Sabrina Price and Elizabeth Price of Fullerton.
No funeral was held. Mr. Reuland was cremated on June 11.

SHIRLEY S. ROY
Services for Shirley Roy, 67, of Westland were June 8 in Schrader-Howell Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev. Drex Morton.
Mrs. Roy was born Jan. 12, 1935, in Detroit and died June 3 in Ann Arbor. She was an office manager for Brands Direct in Plymouth since 1960. She came to the Westland community in 1998 from Canton.
Mrs. Roy enjoyed horse racing; she owned a race horse. She enjoyed bingo, shopping and traveling to Las Vegas.
Surviving are her sons, Michael Roy and Nick (Diana); daughters, Cindy Roy of Commerce Township and Lisa (Dave) Duke of Garden City; and six grandchildren, Robert and Brandon MacBrien, Colton Duke, and Christopher, Nicole and Jennifer Roy.
Mrs. Roy was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Robert.

MICHAEL J. JOHNSON
Services for Michael Johnson, 40, of Westland were June 7 in Harry J. Will Funeral Home, Wayne.
Mr. Johnson died June 3 of an illness.

JEAN ODIERNA
A funeral Mass for Jean Odierna, 89, of Novi was June 7 in Holy Family Catholic Church, Novi, with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit. Officiating was the Rev. John Budde.
Mrs. Odierna was born Sept. 30, 1912, in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, and died June 4 in Southfield. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed gambling and cooking.
Surviving are her son, Ronald (Marrietta); daughters, Barbara (Mike) Kazanjian of Westland and Susan Smith; brother, Arthur Valenti of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Odierna was preceded in death by her husband, Guy.

MATTHEW MCINTOSH
Services for Matthew McIntosh, 95, of Westland were June 8 in Booneville, Ky.
Mr. McIntosh was a previous resident of Plymouth. He was a retired machine repairman for Evan Products. He came to the Plymouth community in 1950 from Kentucky. Mr.McIntosh served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Surviving are his children, Beech (Nettie) McIntosh of Plymouth, Denver (Jackie) McIntosh of Booneville, Ky., Anna Nix of Plymouth, Juanita (Jim) Wolford of Booneville, Ky., Eula (Vern) Woodward of Plymouth and Ola (George) Young of Ann Arbor; sister, Clora McDaniels of Booneville, Ky.; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. McIntosh was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, and son, William.

Services for former Westland resident Franklin Philbrick, 69, of Canton will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, in Fisher Funeral Home, 24501 Five Mile, Redford Township. Officiating will be the Rev. John Shinn from Calvary Baptist Church. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today, Sunday, and 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday, June 10, in Fisher Funeral Home.
Mr. Philbrick was born May 14, 1933, in New York and died at his home in Canton June 6, after a long battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. He enjoyed his family and friends, and loved to travel.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Betty; children, Franklin III, Keith (Jane), Donna Moore, Karen (Tony) Horning, Susan (Jim Stanley) Thomas and Mark (Janet); sister, Viola (Wesley) Bettker; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Philbrick was preceded in death by his daughter, Kandy, and brother, Allen Philbrick.

Mr. Stirling was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Canada and died June 4 in Westland. He was self-employed as a landscaper. He lived in this community 15 years.
Surviving are his wife, Vivian; children, Catherine (Chris) Gould, David (Diane) Mary Ann (Chris) Dohorty, Patricia (Michael) Demsky and Michael (Paullette); and 12 grandchildren.
ISAAC LEE MADDEN
Services for Isaac Madden, 67, of Dry Ridge, Ky., were June 3 in Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden, Ky. Officiating was the Rev. Bill Page.
Mr. Madden was born March 1, 1935, in Landsaul, Ky., and died May 31 in Florence, Ky. He was a retired assembly line worker for General Motors. He was a member of Crittenden Baptist Church. Mr. Madden was a member of UAW Local No. 735.

Services for Martha Dorow, 93, of Romulus were May 31 in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Westland, with burial at Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia. Officiating were the Rev. David Furno and the Rev. Mark Franck.
Mrs. Dorow was born Jan. 20, 1909, and died May 27 in Goodrich, Mich. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Myron (Lucy) Dorow, Alvin (Margaret) Dorow, Lois (Donald) Drayton, Shirley (Charles) LeMay, Barbara (Norman) Richardson and Alan (Kay) Dorow; sister, Esther Nieman; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. There are family members who reside in the Westland community.
Mrs. Dorrow was preceded in death by her husband, George; and sisters, Lydia Bragenzer, Emma Bragenzer and Leona Terry; and brothers, Edward Kessler and Richard Kessler.

Mr. Kelley was born Aug. 11, 1932, and died June 4 in Westland. He was a machinist.

JOHN D. COSGROVE
A funeral Mass for John Cosgrove of Dearborn Heights was June 8 in St. Patrick's Church with burial at Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit.
Mr. Cosgrove died June 4 at his home in Dearborn Heights. He was a retired court officer for Westland 18th District Court's Judge Gail McKnight 1985-2000. He worked for Wayne County Juvenile Court 33 years prior to the Westland district court. He was a Korean War veteran.
Mr. Cosgrove was active his entire life in the Irish community, serving most recently as president of the Fraternal Order of United Irishmen, and as a founding member of the Society. He was co-chair of the Corktrown Races. He also served as a delegate to the United Irish Societies.
Surviving are his brother, William Cosgrove, sisters, Mary Sobiechowski and Catherine Santy.

Mrs. Sorensen was born May 9, 1955, in Detroit and died May 4 in Garden City. She was a data engineer.

MARTIN A. MORAN
Services for Martin A. Moran, 71 of Westland were Monday, May 6, from St. Richard Catholic Church with the Rev. Terence Treppa officiating and burial at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
Mr. Moran was born Oct. 8, 1930, in Johnstown, Pa. and died May 1 in Westland. He was a retired stationery engineer for Ford Motor Co. and was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church. He was a private first class in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, during which he won an Occupational Medal of Japan and was a member of the Detroit Judo Club, International Radio Union and the Century Club of the American Radio Relay League.
Among Mr. Moran's survivors are his wife, Gaynell L. Moran; 11 children, including sons John (Mary) Moran of Wayne, Christopher (Martha) Moran of Greenbrier, Tenn., Shawn (Marlena) Moran of Romulus and Daniel (Jodi) Moran of Westland; daughters Madeline (George) Brown of Westland, Jane Frantz of Westland, Constance (Robert) Kotick of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Pamela (John) Edwards of Romulus, Sandra (Stephen) Dziurkowski of Westland, Kimberly Williams of Westland, and Cynthia Hughes of Romulus; 26 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death were his parents, John and Margaret Moran.

Miss Gibson was born Dec. 15, 1959, and died May 3 of multiple sclerosis.

Mrs. Putz was born Nov. 16, 1919, in Knox, N.D., and died April 29 at home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, John A. (Angelita) and Gary (Judith); daughters, Victoria M. (Robert) McGuigan and Valaria A. (Ronald) Jones; three sisters; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Pietrzak was born July 31, 1928, in Detroit and died April 30 in Ann Arbor. She was an inspector for an automotive company.
Survivors include her husband, Edward; daughters, Lynn M. and Laura (Chris) Armbruster; son, Paul J. (Jayna); two sisters; two brothers; and six grandchildren.
