Mrs. Gries was born Dec. 23, 1912, in Ewen and died April 29. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, J. Raymond (Patricia); daughters, Judith (Russell) and Susan Sanner; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death was her husband, J. Raymond.

NORMAN F. KUHN
Services for Norman F. Kuhn, 83, of Westland were Thursday, May 2, from the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert McDonald officiating and burial at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock.
Mr. Kuhn was born Oct. 13, 1918, in Detroit and died April 29 in Farmington Hills. He was a supervisor and a machinist.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Kuhn; daughters, Margaret Thorne and Cheryl (Asa) Mahssney; sons, Norman Jr., Paul (Lea) and David (Janice); eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services for Carmen Gonzalez, 89, of Westland were Thursday, May 2, from St. Linus Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights with the Rev. George Miller officiating and burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
Mrs. Gonzalez was born Nov. 4, 1912, in Mexico City and died April 29 in Westland. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters, Mary (Concha) Navarrete, Elizabeth (Derry) Smyth and Judy (Joseph) Czajka; sons, Luis (Annerose) Gonzalez and Roy Gonzalez; one sister; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

PHYLLIS R. STIDHAM (MCPHERSON)
Services for Phyllis Stidham (McPherson), 68, of Westland were May 29 in Harry J. Will Funeral Home, Wayne. Officiating was the Rev. Alonzo Luzod.
Mrs. Stidham died May 26. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 3323.
Surviving are her children, Arlene (Fred) Bradburn, Valerie (Daryl) Williams, Darlene (Mike) Mayville, Marlene (Andrew) Luzod, Archie (Dennis Cusenza) McPherson III and Audra Fennessey; nine brothers and sisters; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stidham was preceded in death by her husbands, Alton "Gene" Stidham and Archie McPherson, and daughter, Bobbi Sue McPherson.

Mr. Morphew was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Knoxville, Tenn., and died May 25 in Westland. He was an accountant. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are his children, E. Richard (Karen) Morphew of Columbus, Ind., Charles (Barbara) Morphew of Littleton, Colo., Mary (John) Marasco of Canton and James (Cindy) Morphew of Pinckney; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gawrua was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Detroit and died May 25 in Westland. He was a tool grinder. He was a veteran of World War II.

MARY LAMERTON
Services for Mary Lamerton, 85, of Westland were May 29 in St. Theodore Catholic Church with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. Officiating was the Rev. Gary Michalik.
Mrs. Lamerton was born April 24, 1917, in Paducah, Ky., and died May 24 in Howell. She was a homemaker. She came to the Westland community in 1979 from Detroit. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and its Over 60 Club. She was a volunteer at Westland Convalescent Center and St. Jude Convalescent Center for 20 years.
Mrs. Lamerton enjoyed arts, crafts, cooking, traveling and going to the casinos.
Surviving are her son, Gerard (Cathleen) Lamerton of Brighton; daughter, Mary (Dr. Val) Sobczynski of Lamar, Colo.; brother, Robert Willett of Warren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lamerton was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; daughter, Janet; brothers, James and Thomas Willett; and sister, Betty Cubin.

John Gregory, 75, of Westland died May 26 at his home in Westland.
Mr. Gregory was born June 3, 1926, in Curtisville, Pa. He was an attorney. He was a World War II veteran.

Mrs. Thrun was born March 28, 1908, in Toledo, Ohio, and died May 18 in Livonia. She was a clerical employee.

RAYMOND A. NOVOTNY

Mr. Novotny was born Nov. 17, 1928, and died May 21 in Wayne. He was an oil line repairman.

HELEN E. ZIELINSKI-WESOLOWSKI
Services for Helen Zielinski-Wesolowski, 86, of Westland were May 24 in St. Richard Catholic Church with burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. Officiating was the Rev. Terence Treppa.
Mrs. Zielinski-Wesolowski was born June 17, 1915, in Alpha, Mich., and died May 19 in Westland. She was a 1933 graduate of Western High School, Detroit. She was employed as a waitress 1933-41 at J.L. Hudson's in downtown Detroit and a dining room hostess 1970-82 at Burger King, Detroit. She was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church in Westland, Our Lady Gate of Heaven, Detroit, 24 years and St. Luke's, Detroit.
Mrs. Zielinski-Wesolowski received numerous awards for shorthand, typing and swimming. She enjoyed ceramics, bingo and word search puzzles.
Surviving are her children, Diane (Richard) Scerba of Westland, Stanley (Lois) Zielinski of West Bloomfield and Robert (Sandra) Zielinski of Riverview; sister, Marion Mechling of Pochtello, Idaho; and six grandchildren, Laurie, Lynne, Michael, Dawn, Christine and Kathleen.

HAROLD D. STUTSMAN
Services for Harold Stutsman, 81, of Westland were May 21 in L.J. Griffin Funeral Home with burial at Acacia Park Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. Larry Bartlett from Prayer Baptist Church.
Mr. Stutsman was born Dec. 24, 1920, in Herrin, Ill., and died May 18 in Garden City. He was a route driver for a bakery.
Surviving are his daughter, Carol (Clyde) LeFevre; four grandchildren, Craig, Zachary, William and Amanda; and two great-granddaughters, Katherine and Mary Ann.

ROY ALLEN LOHN
Private services for Roy Lohn, 62, of Westland were held recently.
Mr. Lohn was born Sept. 14, 1939, in Livonia, and died May 21 at his home in Westland. He was a tool and die maker in the automotive industry.
Surviving are his children, Michael (Debbie), Deborah (Michael) and Linda Lohn; his children's mother, Colleen; brothers, Russell and Ronald; and five grandchildren, Megan, Alex, Owen, Lauren and Aidan.

CLARENCE COLLINS
Services for Clarence "John" Collins, 79, of Genoa Township were May 23 in MacDonald's Funeral Home, Howell, with burial at Lakeside Cemetery, Marion Township. Officiating was the Rev. Howard Soehl from First Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Collins was born March 3, 1923, in Callaway County, Ky., and died May 20 in Howell. He was a former Westland resident. He was a maintenance employee with Livonia Public Schools, retiring after 28 years of service. Mr. Collins worked with the Youth Program at Livonia schools and coached Little League in Howell. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving are his wife, Muriel; sons, Larry (Betty) Collins of Howell, Timothy (Truann) Collins of Fowlerville and Michael (Lynn) Collins of Howell; daughter, Diana (Santo) Guido of Dearborn Heights; sister, Ethel (Red) Farris of Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Collins was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

DAVID F. NAPOLITANO
Services for David F. Napolitano, 52, of Westland were Wednesday, April 24, at Vermeulen Funeral Home in Westland. The Rev. Mark Cryderman officiated.
Mr. Napolitano was born July 17, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minn., and died April 21 in Wayne. He was employed as a cargo specialist in telecommunications.
Mr. Napolitano was full of mischief and laughter. He had a great love and caring for all children and was known as the "Kid Magnet." He convinced children he was 27.
He was a history buff and eager to stir up a debate. He was a skilled woodworker and taught those skills to his sons. He enhanced the lives of those around him.
His interest and research in geneaology took him back hundreds of years. His greatest success on earth was his three children, who brought him joy and contentment.
Mr. Napolitano is survived by his wife, Susan J. Napolitano of Westland; sons, Joseph Napolitano of Westland and James (Yvette) Napolitano of Rochester Hills; daughter, Amy Napolitano of Westland; and grandchildren, Tiah, Ashtin and Raynah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonaventure Frederick and Lois J.
Cremation rites were accorded. Memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice.

ZACHARY SCOTT TAYLOR
Services for Zachary Scott Taylor, 40, of Garden City were Monday, April 29, at the Uht Funeral Home in Westland. The Rev. Jack Baker officiated.
Mr. Taylor died April 25.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his parents, Thomas and Phyllis Taylor of Westland; daughter, Samantha; siblings, Raymond Peterson, Cynthia McBride, Thomas Taylor Jr., Leslie John Taylor and Tamara Matsui; and companion, Linda Starks.
SARAH E. CRAIG
Services for Sarah E. Craig, 74, of Westland were Tuesday, April 30, from L.J. Griffin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Craig was born Nov. 13, 1927, in Fairmont, W.Va., and died April 27 in Livonia. She was employed as an accountant in the electronic industry.
She is survived by her husband, Chester; sister, Patrecia (Eugene) Paxton; brother, Donald (Lorraine) Cutlip; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was at Glen Eden Cemetery.
BILL RILEY
Services for Bill Riley, 63, of Westland were Wednesday, May 1, at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home in Livonia. The Rev. Thomas Belczak officiated.
Mr. Riley was born Oct. 26, 1938, in Mayfield, Ky., and died April 28 at home.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Riley of Westland; mother, Helen Riley of Hamburg Township; and sons, Gerald Riley and Thomas (Jeannie) Riley. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Burial was at Parkview Cemetery.
GERTRUDE SITLINGTON HARGREAVES
Services for Gertrude Hargreaves, 93, of Plymouth will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, from Uht Funeral Home in Westland with the Rev. Alice Sheffield officiating. Burial will be at Sheldon Cemetery in Canton.
Mrs. Hargreaves was born Sept. 10, 1908, and died April 27 in Plymouth. She taught math at Wayne Memorial High School until 1970 as Mrs. Bower. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Wayne for 66 years, a member of the Nankin Wayne Chapter of the O.E.S. for 72 years and an avid supporter of Canton historical efforts.
Survivors include her son, Robert Bower of Vienna, Va.; one granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters.
