Mrs. Fusto was born July 20, 1916, and died Oct. 27, 2002, in Farmington Hills. She was a sewing machine operator for an automotive company.
Surviving are her daughter, Carol (Joseph) Bommarito; brother, Victor Vettese; sister, Frances Carpinelli; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fusto was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic, and son, Dominic Jr.

Rans Merlin Vess
Services for Rans Vess, 86, of Westland were Oct. 23 in L.J.Griffin Funeral Home in Canton with burial at Knollwood Cemetery in Canton. Officiating was the Rev. Rocky Barra of Tri-City Christian Center.
Mr. Vess was born Sept. 15, 1916, in Old Fort, N.C., and died Oct. 20, 2002, at Oakwood Hospital. He was a department supervisor for an automotive company.
Surviving are his daughters, Linda Wiley and Brenda (Richard) Teague; brother, Jimmy (Dicie) Vess; grandchildren, Rebecca (Greg) Stewart, Christopher (Mary) Wiley, Aaron (Julie) Teague and Alicia Belcarz.
Mr. Vess was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; son, Boyd Merlin Vess; and grandson, Justin Teague.

Services for Nancy Della, 68, of Canton were Oct. 30 in St. John Episcopal Church with the Rev. Arthur R. Mack officiating.
Mrs. Della was born April 9, 1934, in Bontoc Province, Philippines, and died Oct. 27, 2002, in Royal Oak. She has lived in Canton 30 years and previously resided in Massachusettes three years. She was a school teacher in the Philippines. She became a registered nurse and was a member of the Real Estate Association.
Mrs. Della was a member of St. John Episcopal Church where she served in the Altar Guild, was a member of Bibak, Women's Quilting Club and the church choir.
She earned her bachelor of science degree in education and nursing and her Real Estate certification.
Surviving are her husband, Alfredo; son, Wilfred (Marianne) Della of Westland; daughters, Jennifer (Rey) Silerio of Warren and Sheila (John) Dankert of Levering, Mich.; brother, Ernesto Fagyan of the Philippines; sister, Esther Tomek of Australia; and five grandchildren, Maydsen, Andrew, Anthony, Brandon and Austin.

Services for former Westland resident George Kengle, 73, of Monroe were Sept. 24 in Uht Funeral Home, Westland, with burial at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills, Pa. Officiating was the Rev. Jerome Smith.
Mr. Kengle was born Nov. 14, 1928, and died Sept. 22 in Monroe. He was an engineer.

Malta Noma Lord
Malta Lord, 86, of Westland died Sept. 27.
Mrs. Lord was born March 9, 1916, in Cranks, Ky. She lived in the Westland community 65 years. She was a manager for Tri-Daly and Minders Drug Stores. She owned a restaurant and a charter yacht business in Bradenton, Fla., and was a director of tours for Wein Artic Airlines.
Surviving are her daughter, Lenore Walters; brother, Lawrence Greene; five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lord was preceded in death by her husband, Leland.

Bernice Kaske
Services for Bernice Kaske, 99, of Westland were today, Thursday, Oct. 3, in the chapel of John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home with burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights. Officiating was the Rev. Ray Lucasinsky from Mariannhill Mission Society.
Mrs. Kaske was born March 21, 1903, and died Sept. 29 in Westland. She was a packer.
Surviving are her son, Leo Kaske; and daughters, Lorraine Byrnes of Wayne and Dorothy (Joe) Lademan.

Christy Jean Guest
A funeral Mass for Christy Guest, 33, of Westland will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in St. Raphael Church, 31530 Beechwood, Garden City, with burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. Her body will lie in state 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Visitation is noon to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 24, in L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, 7707 Middlebelt, Westland.
Miss Guest was born Feb. 12, 1969, and died Oct. 20, 2002, at her home in Westland. She was a school bus driver for the Livonia school system.

Harold E. Schoen
Services for Harold E. Schoen, 81, of Livonia will be held December 30 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Lew Towler and Dr. William Lupfer officiating.
Mr. Schoen was born July 22, 1921 in Lansing. He died Dec. 22 in Livonia. He was a retired senior accountant for Michigan Bell-Ameritech. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Plymouth where he served on the vestry and was treasurer. He was a member of the Plymouth Elks, the Ann Arbor Masonic Order, the Livonia Republican Club and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He was a naval/aviator, Lt. Cdr. in the U.S. Navy during World War II and a recruiter for the U.S. Naval Academy. Mr. Schoen was on the advisory committee for Livonia Public Schools and Schoolcraft College.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne Schoen and son Harold E. "Chip" Schoen, Jr.
Survivors include son Phillip C.
