Robert Earl James
Robert James, 73, of Lapeer, formerly of West Bloomfield, died September 17, 2002.
Mr. James graduated from Wittenburg University. He was an Army Air Corps veteran who served on Okinawa. He was a real estate broker and owner of Century 21, Robec Properties in West Bloomfield. He enjoyed being with his family, attending their ball games and sometimes coaching the teams when necessary. Mr. James also enjoyed golf and fishing.
He is survived by children, Jo Ellen (fiancé, Tom Zadrosky), Wallace of Troy, Robert of Leonard, Richard, and Craig (Sarah) both of Waterford; grandchildren, Heather, Connor, Danny and Brian; siblings, Shirley (Wayne) Kaiser and Barbara (Tom) Martin both of Ohio.

Ester Zerbo
Ester Zerbo, 82, of West Bloomfield, formerly of Farmington Hills, died September 12, 2002 at Bloomfield Orchard Villa in West Bloomfield. She was born May 19, 1920 in Butte, Montana.
Mrs. Zerbo attended two years of business college. She was a member of Club Venetian.
She is survived by sons, Angelo of West Bloomfield, Richard (Deborah) of Farmington Hills and John (Leslie) of Commerce Township; grandchildren, Kimberly, Nina, Kevin, Jenna, Andrew, Alex and Christopher.

A.D. "Pappaw" Golden
Pappaw Golden, 80, of West Bloomfield, formerly of Marmaduke, Ark., died September 16, 2002.
Mr. Golden was a veteran of WWII as a gunner on B-24's stationed in Italy. He worked for thirty-three years at Ely Walker Shirt Factory and after retiring, worked part-time at Damman Hardware in Commerce. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.S. He loved traveling with a bluegrass band, playing the mandolin and spoons, and in his early days, played in a country music band on the radio. He enjoyed his family, bowling, and fishing.
Mr. Golden is survived by wife of 56 years, Betty; children, Jo Ann (Ed) Newsbaum of Commerce Twp. and Michael (Mary) of Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother, Cloyce Golden.

Josephine Bonanno
Josephine Bonanno, 91, of Rochester Hills, formerly of West Bloomfield, died August 24, 2002 at Crittenton Hospital. She was born July 19, 1911 in Pittston, Pa. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Bonanno is survived by children, Susan (Gary) Cox of Troy, Joseph Bonanno, D.O., and Raymond (Joan); ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sarah Benevegnia and Sally Camilletti.

DENISE LYNN BOWMAN
Denise Bowman, 42, of Bloomfield Hills, formerly Auburn Hills, died June 25, 2002, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac. She was born April 2, 1960 in Detroit.
Mrs. Bowman was a graduate of Troy High School and Western Michigan University. She had worked in Chicago for eleven years where she sold consulting services for Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) For the past nine years she was a homemaker. Mrs. Bowman supported many local charities and assisted friends and family who were ill or in need.
She is survived by husband, Mark W.; children, Thomas V., Mackinaw W., and Briggs A.; parents, Joan Ruen and Thomas Watrous; siblings, Thomas Watrous, Jr. and Debra Marie Watrous.

Dorothy Orritt, 77, of West Bloomfield, died June 11, 2002, at Woodward Hills Nursing Home, Bloomfield Hills. She was born April 5, 1925 in Nanticoke, Pa.
Mrs. Orritt graduated from Kettering High School in Detroit, plus went to business school for two years. She enjoyed many different activities, including vacationing at Canadian Lakes in Mecosta, Mich.
She is survived by daughter, Janice (Harold) Kuhn; granddaughters, Allison and Marisa; and nieces and nephews, Kathy, Mike, Jane and John.

HARRIETTE R. COOK
Harriette Cook, 75, of St. Clair Shores, died June 8, 2002 in Arbor Manor Care in Spring Arbor. She was born July 31, 1926 in Lansing.
She received a two-year degree from Michigan State College. She enjoyed airplanes and took flying lessons and worked as a model in the 1940s. She was employed as a secretary for many years. Mrs. Cook was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Clair Shores and St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Grosse Pointe Woods.
She is survived by former husband, Ardale Louis Cook of Clinton Twp.; children Dawn Marie (Danny) Peterson of Alvin, Texas, Jameson Frank of St. Clair Shores and Sean Harry (Dianne) of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Melissa, Noah and Jade; brother, William (Darlene) Burger of Lansing and several nieces and nephews.

Leonard Joy, 83, of Farmington Hills, died June 12, 2002, in Marywood Nursing Center in Livonia. He was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Detroit.
Mr. Joy served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed by the IRS for thirty-two years.

Dorothy O'Brien, 83, of West Bloomfield, died June 14, 2002, at Wm. Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born August 22, 1918 in Detroit.
Mrs. O'Brien was a homemaker with membership at St. Colman Catholic Church in Farmington Hills; a volunteer at Hospice of SE Michigan and Lourdes Nursing Home in Waterford.
She is survived by children, Lynn (Larry) Harper of Stow, Ohio, Suzanne O'Brien of Allen Park, Patrick (Joanne) of Troy, Thomas Michael of Detroit and Terry (Chris) of Fenton; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ian Towart, 76, of West Bloomfield, died June 18, 2002, at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington. He was born July 12, 1925 in Scotland.

Stan Clark, 78, of Hillsboro Beach, Fla., formerly of West Bloomfield, died Jan. 19, 2003, in Pompano Beach, Fla. He was born Feb. 7, 1924 in Windsor, Ontario.
Mr. Clarke was an entrepreneur involved in many business in the Detroit area. He was owner and president of Mack Pattern Works, Inc. and vice president and Co-owner of Line Precision Inc. and Shapiro Mold, Inc.

Mrs. Peck was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and spending time with her family. She was active with the Garden Club in West Bloomfield and a longtime member of St. James Episcopal Church in Birmingham.

Eva M. Zearing
Eva Zearing, 83, of West Bloomfield, formerly Livonia and Sterling Heights, died Oct. 7, 2002, at Bloomfield Orchard Villa Nursing Home in West Bloomfield. She was born April 8, 1919 in Lake More, Ohio.
Mrs. Zearing retired after 20 years as a sales associate for Montgomery Wards, where she was the first woman to sell major appliances. She was a member of Eastern Star in Sun City, Arizona. She enjoyed sewing and doll collecting.
She is survived by daughter, Linda P. (Hal D.) Watson; grandchildren, Matthew S. and Erika Z. Watson; and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Mackinley.
