Services for Johnie Melvin Watts, 78, of Tool were held at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at the Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home
Chapel in Kemp with Mr. Solon Bailey officiating. Interment
followed
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at the Millers Grove Cemetery near
Sulphur Springs with Mr. Jerome Savage officiating under the direction
of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home of Kemp.
Mr. Watts was born on Saturday, Oct. 4, 1924, in Millers Grove, Texas,
a son of the late John Mack and Mittie Mae Jones Watts and passed away
on Friday, June 13, 2003, in Tyler. He had lived in Tool for the past
30 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
He was a member of the Trinidad Church of Christ. He was married to
May Gene Pennington on Nov. 20, 1946, in Sulphur Springs. He is
preceded in death by his parents, John and Mittie Watts, a brother,
C.G. Watts and a nephew.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Gene Watts of Tool; son, Mike Watts
and his wife, Dorothy of Van; daughter, Lynda Fahrner and her husband,
Gary of O'Fallon, Ill.; grandchildren, Jason Watts and his wife,
Laura, Jamie Watts and Kristin, Kinsey and Kori Fahrner, as well as
great-grandchild, Campbell Watts; sisters, LaVern Cox and her husband,
LeRoy of Pineville, La., and LaVera Johnson of Mesquite; niece, Janet
Pufahl; and nephew, Eugene Johnson, as well as numerous other friends
and relatives.
The family wishes to extend a sincere and heartfelt "thank you" to the
wonderful people at Hospice Homeplace and the Tyler Cancer Center.

Roy Alfred Gallagher
Roy Alfred Gallagher, 76, of Trinidad passed away Aug. 10, 2003, in
Tyler. Services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at Eubank
Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Chick Cullen officiating. Interment
followed at Baker Cemetery in Kaufman County. Mr. Gallagher was born
Sept. 24, 1926, in Terrell to Robert Claude and Efrie (Thorn)
Gallagher and was a member of the Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist
Church of Tool. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the
Pacific while in the U.S. Army. He was co-founder of Gallagher's Paint
and Body Shop in Seven Points in 1976 and retired in 2000 when he
turned the business over to his son, Randy Gallagher. Mr. Gallagher
also worked for Doran Chevrolet for 25 years prior to opening his
business. Survivors include his wife, Vonda Gallagher of Trinidad;
sons, Gerald Robert Gallagher and wife, Lisa of Colleyville, Gary
Wayne Gallagher and fiancee, Melissa Manning of Sunnyvale, Randal Ray
Gallagher and wife, Danene of Payne Springs; seven grandchildren and
eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Gallagher was preceded in death by his
son, Richard Joe Gallagher and sister, Claudia G. Martinez. Visitation
was 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Eubank Cedar Creek
Funeral Home of Mabank.
Woodrow A. Fuller
Woodrow A. Fuller, 83, of Dallas passed away Aug. 10, 2003, in Dallas.
Services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at Providence
Baptist Church of Tool with the Rev. Craig Freeman officiating.
Interment
followed at Tool Cemetery. Mr. Fuller was born Oct. 2, 1919,
in Morris County to Archibald and Idabelle (Magers) Fuller. He was a
member of the Ferndale Baptist Church and a retired automotive
electrician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served on the front
lines of four major battles in the Pacific campaign and achieved a
rating of Corporal T-5. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Fuller
Briggs and husband, Lyndon; son, Joe Cook and wife, Bonnie; grandsons,
Allan Cook and wife, Lucy, Jeff Schupbach and wife, Tammy; three
great-grandchildren, Amanda and Brittney Fuller and Andrew Cook;
sister, Marie McDowell. Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by his wife,
Jessie Mae Fuller on March 10, 2002. Family received friends Tuesday,
Aug. 12, 2003, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Joel E. Duggan
Services of remembrance were held for Joel Eudell Duggan, 87, of Kemp,
at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2003 at the First Baptist Church of Tool,
with Rev. Mike Manning and Dr. Rocky Weatherford officiating.
Interment
was at 2 p.m. at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, under
the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home of Kemp.
He was born in Terrell in Sept. 27, 1916, the son of Carl Duggan and
May Heaton Duggan. He died Nov. 28, 2003 in Dallas. Duggan had lived
in Tool for over 30 years and was the founder of Duggan Iron & Metal
in Dallas in 1946. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist
Church of Tool. He married Ruby Wilson in 1938 and she preceded him in
death on Dec. 13, 2000.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Rhydonia Duggan of
Midlothian, and Joel D. and Melba Duggan of Kaufman; grandchildren,
Ronnie Duggan and wife Christine, Chris Duggan and wife Sherri, Julie
Carlson and husband Mike, Eddie Duggan and wife Jere, Tina Millirons
and husband Jeff, and Andy Duggan and wife Christine; sister, Annie
Clowers of Dallas; 10 great grandchildren; and many other relatives
and friends.
Ned J. Saxion
Services for Ned. J. Saxion, 82, of Trinidad, were held at 2 p.m. on
Friday, Nov. 28, 2003 at Oaklawn Memorial Park of Athens with Ron
Huckabee officiating. Interment
followed in Oaklawn Memorial park
under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points. The
Honor Guard from VFW District 30 performed in the ceremony.
Mr. Saxion was born July 14, 1921 in Bellefonte, Penn., and died Nov.
25, 2003 in Athens. He was a retired U.S. Air Force flightline crew
chief in the Strategic Air Command, Korea, and Berlin Airlift. He
served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Philippines. He was a
member of the VFW and American Legion.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Darcy Saxion
of Norman, Okla., Harry Saxion of Cody, Wyo., Steve Saxion of Wichita,
Kan., and Stan Saxion of Bellefonte, Penn.; brothers and sisters, Paul
and Margaret Saxion of Bellefonte, Penn., Rose Ulrich of Cedar Rapids,
La., and Tom Saxion of Altoona, Penn.; and one granddaughter.
Visitation was from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
Berna Dean Goines
Services for Berna Dean Goines, 79, of Trinidad, were held at 11 a.m.
Friday, Nov. 28 at the First Baptist Church in Malakoff with Bro. Gary
Combs officiating. Interment
followed in the Malakoff Cemetery under
the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff.
William Thatcher 'Bill' Sorrells
Services for William Thatcher "Bill" Sorrells, 83, of Dallas, were
held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2003 at the Tomlinson Funeral
Home of Seven Points. Interment
followed in Grove Hill Memorial Park
of Dallas.
Mr. Sorrells was born Jan. 17, 1920 in Kaufman County and died Nov.
24, 2003 in Dallas. He lived in Dallas for 60 years. He was a member
of First Missionary Baptist of Balch Springs and retired from the City
of Dallas auto impound yard after almost 15 years.
He is survived by wife, Maudie Sorrells of Dallas; children, Brenda
Followwell Hooten of Kemp, Jean Sorrells of Dallas, Billy Forrester of
Gun Barrel City and Toby Sorrells of Seagoville; two sisters, Mary
Harry of Dallas and Madge Andrus of Seagoville; three brothers, Faris
Sorrells of Kemp, John Sorrells of Dallas and George Sorrells of
Canton; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Visitation was Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home.
Ella Jewel Goss
Graveside services for Ella Jewel Goss, 83, of Sherman, Texas, were
held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank
with the Rev. Steve Glosup officiating. Interment
followed in the
cemetery under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Canton.
Mrs. Goss was born Dec. 30, 1919 in Mabank to Thomas Raymond and Dora
Elizabeth Gafford Chitty, and died Nov. 27, 2003 after a short
illness. She was a member of Brandon Avenue United Methodist Church.
She loved to cook, sew and quilt in her younger years. She also
enjoyed gardening, especially flower gardens and roses.
She was preceded in death by husband, Warren Wade Goss; and two
sisters, Iva Carter and Bertha Griffin.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Robert and Karen Goss of
Sherman, Texas; two sisters, Lucille Hollifield of Tyler and Maudie
Jordan of Trinidad; brother, James Chitty of Athens; four
grandchildren, Karen Reeves, Bonnie Shinault, Robert Goss, Jr., and
Robin Goss; one great-grandchild, Blake Alexander Shinault; other
relatives and friends.
Asa 'Ace' Pierce
Graveside services for Asa "Ace" Pierce, 70, of Mabank, were held at
11 a.m. Nov. 29, 2003 at Payne Springs Cemetery with Mr. Randall
Mitchell officiating. Interment
followed in the cemetery under the
direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home.
Mr. Pierce was born Sept. 2, 1933 in Springfield, Ohio and died
Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003 in Dallas. He was a hotel manager and a Mabank
resident for 13 years. He also owned A&N Lawn Service.
He is survived by wife, Norma Pierce of Mabank; daughters, Susan
Gonzales of Fla., and Donna Pierce of Fla.; sons, David Pierce of
Springfield, Ohio, Greg Pierce of Springfield, Ohio, and Scott Pierce
of Fairborn, Ohio; sister, Patricia Rickert of Mabank; eight
grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Nov. 28 from 12-9 p.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek
Funeral Home. Family received friends from 6-8 p.m.
Ruby Mae Stockard
Ruby Mae Stockard, 66, of Gun Barrel City, died Nov. 24, 2003 at her
residence. No services have been scheduled at this time.
Hailey Savanna Runyon

Hailey was born Nov. 13, 2003 in Tool and died Nov. 28, 2003 in Dallas.
She is survived by parents, Frank Runyon III and Katreena Russey
Runyon; sisters, Skyler and Meagan of Tool; paternal grandmother, Lou
Tedtaotao of Guam; paternal grandparents, Frank S. Runyon II and
Debbie Runyon; maternal grandparents, Patsy Russey and Lewis Russey of
Tool.
Visitation was held Monday, Dec. 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home.
