Jerre Leigh Copeland
Jerre Leigh Copeland, 47, of Maumelle, brother of Jody Copeland of Conway, died Wednesday (May 26, 1999).
Born Aug. 10, 1951, in Little Rock, he was a son of Ralph and Rosa Copeland.
Other survivors are three other brothers, John Copeland of Prairie View (Logan County) and James Copeland and Arthur Copeland, both of Mabelvale; and a devoted companion, Ann Guen and her sons, Jonathon and Anthony.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock. Burial will be in Little Rock National Cemetery.
Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today, with the family receiving guests from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charles D. Brians
Charles D. Brians, 54, of Mayflower died Wednesday (May 26, 1999).
Born July 25, 1944, in Little Rock, a son of R. E. Brians of Cabot and Rachel Vance of North Little Rock, he was a Baptist.
Other survivors are his stepmother, Louise Brians of Cabot; his stepfather, K. B. Vance of North Little Rock; a brother, Bobby Brians of Sherwood; and a half sister, Debbie Short of Bentonville.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood with the Rev. Hardy Bell officiating. Burial will be in Sylvania Cemetery at Austin (Lonoke County).
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family receiving visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Sara Kathern Thompson
Mrs. Sara Kathern Traylor Thompson, 76, of Little Rock, a native of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday (May 25, 1999) in Little Rock.
Born Aug. 2, 1922, a daughter of Bernard H. and Kate E. Henry Traylor, she was a retired salesperson for M.M. Cohn, Lou Hoffman and the Baby Place and Maternity Too, she attended Ouachita Baptist University and New Orleans Theological Seminary and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock.
Survivors are her husband, Charles A. Thompson; a daughter, Lynda Marc Thompson Currie of Woodridge, Ill.; a son, Charles A. Thompson Jr. of Wheaton, Ill.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home with Dr. Rex Horne and the Rev. Wilson Deese officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Michael J. Hudson
Michael J. Hudson, 53, of Chestnut Hill, Mass., an uncle of Shane Morgan of Conway, died Sunday (May 23, 1999) at his home.
Born June 10, 1945, at Coos Bay, Ore., he was a son of JoAnn Hudson of Calico Rock (Izard County) and the late Dr. Dale G. Hudson. He was a 1963 graduate of Calico Rock High School, graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1967, and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1972.
He lived in St. Louis for several years, while working in the appellate court system. He moved to Boston and was appointed appellate justice expert for the National Center for State Courts. In 1982 he went into private practice in Boston and in Wellesley, Mass. He opened his own practice in 1994 in Newton, Mass., with two other attorneys.
Other survivors are his wife, Dr. Rita Linggood Hudson; two daughters, Katie Hudson and Julia Hudson, both of Chestnut Hill; and two sisters, Linda Hitt of Fayetteville and Martha Hudson of Clear Lake, Wis.
Funeral services were today at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Calico Rock with the Rev. Wayne Wood and the Rev. Carl Cook officiating, and at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Chestnut Hill. Arrangements are by Hammer Funeral Home of Clear Lake, Wis.
Memorials may be made to the Calico Rock Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
William D. 'Dick' Wilson
William D. "Dick" Wilson, 70, of Carlsbad, N.M., brother of Lila Ruth Montgomery of Conway, died Saturday (May 22, 1999) in Carlsbad.
Born Nov. 30, 1928, in Springfield (Conway County), a son of James E. and Alice Lorraine Dancer Wilson, he graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway.
Other survivors are a son, Jim Wilson of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Alice Wilson of Las Cruces, N.M., Dena Wilson of Dallas and Mary Gonzales of San Mateo, Calif.; another sister, Nina Norwod of Pine Bluff; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
No local services are planned. Burial will be in Little Rock National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Faulkner County.
Chloria Lucille 'Eid' Smith
Chloria Lucille "Eid" Smith, 82, died at home on Tuesday, May 25, 1999, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born Sept. 24, 1916, at Naylor, a daughter of the late William Anderson and Mary Euginia Stevenson Spillers, she was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was the widow of Cecil D. Smith.
Survivors are a daughter, Emogene Morris of Wooster; a grandson, Stephen Morris of Vilonia; six granddaughters, Diana Carmichael, Marion Sublett, Donna Presley, Marsha McEntire Morgan, Stacy Morris and Stephanie Morris, all of Wooster; 16 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Griffin Leggett-Conway with the Rev. Ron Riddle officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Holland.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Morris, Michael Carmichael, Brandon Morris, Chad Sublett, Jeff Sublett, Harvey Presley, Larry Carmichael and Mike Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Johnathan McEntire, Cecil McEntire, Chris Hewitt, Dustin Hewitt, Jason Presley and Matthew Presley.

Tommy F. Ruple
Tommy F. Ruple, 56, of Vilonia died Saturday (June 6, 1998) at Conway Regional Medical Center.
Born March 8, 1942, at the Naylor community, son of Vestal L. and Ruth Lee Goodnight Ruple, he was a self-employed mechanic.
Survivors are his wife, Wanona Avery Ruple; a son, Jeff Ruple of Vilonia; two brothers, Charles Ruple and Gerald Ruple, both of Vilonia; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home with William Money officiating. Burial will be in Hawthicket Cemetery.

Franklin D. 'Dub' Ruple
Franklin D. "Dub" Ruple, 65, of Conway died Saturday (Dec. 25, 1999) at McClellan Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.
Born June 18, 1934, in Scott (Pulaski County), son of Bronnie Robinson Ruple of Conway and the late Burl E. Ruple, he was the owner-operator of City Cab Co. and a member of Holland Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Teas.
Other survivors are two sisters, Pat Clark of Conway and Virginia Grimes of Pine Bluff; and one grandchild.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Crestlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Ken Jordan officiating. Burial will be by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home.

David Love Sibley
David Love Sibley, 77, of Little Rock died Saturday (June 6, 1998).
Born Jan. 18, 1921, in Little Rock, son of the late Ryfe Wilson and Violet Sibley, he was retired from North East Arkansas Pipe Co., a World War II Army veteran, and a member of Rotary clubs in Paragould and Newport and of the United Methodist Church. He was also a graduate of Conway High School and Hendrix College.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ryfe Sibley.
Survivors are two sons, Dr. David Hurley Sibley of Birmingham, Ala., and David Love Sibley Jr. of Los Angeles; a daughter, Robin Clairborne of Knoxville, Tenn.; three sisters, Corinne Rhodes of Jonesboro, Martha Buchanan of Madison, Miss., and Violet Isaacks of Fort Smith; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crestlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Ben Jordan officiating. Arrangements are by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home of Little Rock.

Charles William Roberts
Charles William Roberts, 72, of Little Rock, brother of Margaret Park of Quitman, died Sunday (June 7, 1998) at McClellan Veterans Hospital.
Born July 2, 1925, in Russellville, son of the late Ellis H. and Othella Webb Roberts, he was a salesman, a Korean War veteran, and member of Parkway Place Baptist Church, the American Legion and a Mason.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Samm Roberts and a brother, Edwin Roberts.
Other survivors are his wife, Thelma Ruth Sublett Roberts; and three sons, Charles David Roberts, Ronnie H. Roberts and Tim Jesse Roberts, all of Little Rock.

Mrs. Margaret Myrtle McCall, 75, of El Paso (White County) died Wednesday (June 16, 1999) at Cabot Manor Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 10, 1923, in Winchester (Drew County), daughter of the late William L. and Rosa Osborne Newton, she was a retired nurse at Children's State Hospital and a member of Daugherty Hill Immanuel Baptist Church in Conway.
She was preceded in death by a son, Morris D. McCall.

McCall Middleton and Sharon Jean McCall Cole, both of North Little Rock; three sisters, Jenny Mae Water of Louisiana, Henrietta Gates of San Jose, Calif., and Ruth Stricklin of Smackover (Union County); two brothers, Jimmy Ted Newton of Rison (Cleveland County) and Charles W. Newton of Star City (Lincoln County); 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Jack Martin, 79, of Conway died Thursday (June 17, 1999) at his home.
Born June 16, 1920, in Rome, Ga., son of the late Will and Lula Taylor Martin, he was a concrete finisher for F&F Concrete, a veteran of World War II and a member of Bono Baptist Church and Spring Grove Masonic Lodge No. 107.
Survivors are his wife, Emogene "Gene" Martin; five sons, Bill Martin of North Little Rock and William Martin, Bobby Martin, Ray Martin and Jerry Martin, all of Conway; two daughters, Nellie Marchett and Connie Cargile, both of Conway; a brother, John Martin of Nashville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hartje Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Martin Jr. officiating.

Rev. Herman Hurd
The Rev. Herman Hurd, 85, of Conway died Saturday (July 10, 1999) at his home.
Born Dec 17, 1913, in Blanchard, La., son of the late Marshall A. and Nettie Williamson Hurd, he was a retired Baptist minister. He had served churches in the Russellville, Mayflower and Conway areas and organized Blaney Hill Baptist Church, from which he retired in 1984.
He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, a son and a granddaughter.
Survivors are his wife, Bracy Pate Owens Hurd; two sons, the Rev. John Hurd of Little Rock and Dr. Herman Hurd of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Jean Mize and Nancy Duke, both of Conway; three stepsons, Larry Owens and Ronnie Owens, both of Greenbrier, and Randy Owens of Conway; four stepdaughters, Judy Rains of Conway, Patty DeLoach of Parkin (Cross County), and Miki Rodman and Debbie Smith, both of Kokomo, Ind.; a sister, Daisy Kirby of Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 27 stepgrandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mayflower Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Brown of Enola officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin Leggett-Conway.
Thomas Marion Meadows
Thomas Marion Meadows, 30, of Conway died Sunday (July 11, 1999) following an auto accident.
Born May 28, 1969, in West Monroe, La., son of M.T. and Amanda Meadows, he was a student at the University of Central Arkansas, majoring in physical therapy, and had expected to graduate with honors in August. He graduated from West Monroe (La.) High School in 1987, was a sergeant in the Louisiana National Guard and served in Desert Storm. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1994, served a year in campus ministry at Southern Methodist University and worked for an investment firm in Dallas for two years.
Other survivors are his grandmother, Hazel Meadows; a brother, James Meadows; and two sisters, Amy Hickman and Beth Ferguson.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in West Monroe, La., with the Rev. Terry Simpson and Dr. David Uth officiating. Burial will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at The Old Gin Special Events Center in Conway.

Born June 6, 1963, at Huntington Park, Calif., a daughter of William Kelley Moon of Solgohachia and Earlene Kleese of Plumerville, both in Conway County, she was a homemaker.
Other survivors are her husband, Jimmy Smith; a son, Michael Bell of Conway; a daughter, Sheiree Bell of Conway; a brother, David Ballard of Heber Springs; three sisters, Kelley Moon of Solgohachia, Debbie Moon of Heber Springs and Deborah Keylon of Lamar.

Born May 2, 1974, in Little Rock, she was a student at the University of Central Arkansas and a member of Naylor Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Vester Merle Engdahl.
Survivors are her parents, Jerry M. Engdahl of Holland and Evelyn Vance of Naylor; a brother, Jeremy Engdahl of Naylor; a sister, Sarah Engdahl of Naylor; and her grandparents, Loretta Hill of Naylor and Mr. and Mrs. Winslow Hendrich of Vilonia.

Vernon Bohannon, 83, of Marshall (Searcy County), father of Shirley Taylor and Johnny Bohannon, both of Conway, died Sunday (July 25, 1999) at Searcy County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 29, 1915, at Bear Creek, son of the late Myrt and Sally Bohannon, he was a farmer and a member of Welcome Home Church and the Witts Springs Masonic Lodge.

Owen Darrell Smith, 79, of Wooster died Friday (July 30, 1999) at Little Rock.
Born Dec. 16, 1919, in Wooster, a son of Ancel Dean and Marvie McMahan Smith, he was a retired auto mechanic and a deacon in the Wooster Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Modenia Holloway Smith; two daughters, Marilyn Martin of Wooster and Judy Atkinson of Vilonia; two sons, Odis D. Smith and Randy Smith, both of Wooster; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today at Wooster Baptist Church, with the Rev. Phillip Drennan, the Rev. Robert Hartness and the Rev. Arnold Tell officiating.

Mrs. Marguerite Wilkins, 98, of Conway died Tuesday (Aug. 3, 1999) at Sapulpa, Okla.
Born July 31, 1901, in Plumerville, a daughter of J. M. and Josephine Taylor Sims, she was the owner and operator of Greeson Drug Store and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
A graduate of Central College, she was a member of the Shakespeare Club and a charter member of the Conway Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce B. Wilkins.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Davida Autrey officiating. Burial was in Plumerville Cemetery.
