Hazel Scully
Hazel Scully of Rhinelander died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander. She was 95.
Mrs. Scully was born March 23, 1910, in Cicero, Ill. She attended nursing school for three years.
Formerly of Wauconda, Ill., she has been an area resident for the past 40 years.
She was an avid crafter and her hobbies included fishing and cooking. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years and served as a Past Matron.
Survivors include one daughter, Judith Holle of Corona, Ariz.; three granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. The Rev. William Trosien will officiate. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in Eagle River Cemetery in Eagle River.
Robert E. Quick
Born to eternal life Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, and joined his beloved wife of 64 years, Jane Catherine (nee Pinzl) at the age of 88. Bob was the son of Edward F. and Bessie (nee Malone) Quick.
Survived by his son, Robert E. Quick Jr. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two sisters, Betty J. Bonkoski and Shirley M. Brah, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bob began his career with MGM Pictures in Milwaukee, Wis., and joined the Army and Air Force Motion Picture Service in 1942. In 1958, he was promoted to Chief of the Motion Picture Service, a position he held until retiring in 1973. As Chief, he was responsible for the design and construction of new base and post theatres all over the world, and for the worldwide procurement and distribution of motion pictures for the benefit of servicemen in the Army and Air Force. He received the Air Force's highest award given to a civilian, the Exceptional Service Award.
As Chief, he traveled all over the world and lived in Germany and Hawaii, as well as Washington, D.C., St. Louis and New Orleans.
Bob and his wife, Jane, lived in Three Lakes, Wis., after 1977. They enjoyed the tranquility and peace of the North Woods, and Bob would often comment that the North Woods was special because of the genuineness and warmth of the people who lived there.
Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Easy Eagles, and an avid card player and fisherman.

Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 12, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, Wis., and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Three Lakes Cemetery.
Brent John Gensler
Brent John Gensler, 35, passed away at his home in Alexandria, Va., on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006.
Brent was born in Rhinelander, Wis., on March 12, 1970, to George and Marilyn (nee Moussette) Gensler.
He attended school in Three Lakes, Wis., and upon graduating high school he attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he majored in hotel/motel management. After receiving his college degree, he was employed at the Marriott Hotel and Westin Hotel in Atlanta, Ga. At the time of his death he was working for the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Brent was preceded in death by his father, George Gensler; his paternal grandparents, Louis and Emma Gensler; maternal grandfather, Ambrose Moussette; and maternal great-grandparents, Edward and Mildred Erickson.
Brent is survived by his mother and stepfather, Marilyn and Bonn Wisner of South Milwaukee, Wis., and Three Lakes; his brother, Bruce (Julie) Gensler of Three Lakes; and his sister, Michele (James) Brown of Three Lakes.
Uncle Brent will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Holly, Jordan and Taylor Gensler, and Tristan Brown.
He is further survived by his maternal grandmother, Charlotte Moussette; his aunt, Carol Moussette; his uncles, Larry (Cathy) Moussette and Bill (Connie) Moussette; cousins, many friends and business colleagues, especially Kenton Yaley.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Charles Braunschweig
Charles Braunschweig of Oconomowoc and St. Germain died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, in St. Germain. He was 65.
Mr. Braunschweig was born April 19, 1940, in Watertown, the son of Wilbert and Nancy (nee McLaughlin) Braunschweig.
He married Sandra Stamm Sept. 19, 1972.
Mr. Braunschweig was employed by we energies as a gas operation supervisor.
He was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Watertown Elks Club, Johnson Creek Fire Department, Rock River Hall of Fame, Johnson Creek Pioneer's Baseball Team for 35 years and the Lost Lake Waterfront Property Association in St. Germain.
His hobbies included deer hunting, fishing and spending time at his St. Germain home.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Gina (Todd) Wehmeyer of Oconomowoc; two sons, Ted (Stacy) Saxe of Oconomowoc and Troy (Kim) Saxe of Milwaukee; a brother, Jim (Cyndi) of Johnson Creek; a sister, Carol (Babe) Wishowski of Johnson Creek; and four grandchildren.
He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home in Oconomowoc.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Oconomowoc.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Johnson Creek.
Howard N. 'Howie' Liebscher
Howard N. “Howie” Liebscher of Greendale died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006. He was 66.
Mr. Liebscher was a 1958 graduate of Three Lakes High School and a 1966 graduate of UW-La Crosse.
He was employed as a human resource director for the Milwaukee County Transit System until his retirement. He had served in the U.S. Navy for four years.
His hobbies included deer hunting, fishing golf and tennis. He was a frequent visitor to the North Woods.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Marcella; a brother, Dennis; and his mother-in-law, Helen Romeo.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Carol (nee Romeo); two daughters, Sherri (Jeff Galusha) Liebscher and Traci (Marc) Schwarting; two brothers, Bruce (Rita) of Sugar Camp and Tom of Fairbanks, Alaska; father-in-law, Frank Romeo; brothers-in-law, Bob Romeo, Marge (Gene) Hughes and Janet (George) Slupski; and three grandchildren.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews and many special friends.
A funeral service was held Feb. 6 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
Burial was in Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Daniel G. TeKampe Sr.
Daniel G. TeKampe Sr. of Eagle River died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 65.
Mr. TeKampe was born Dec. 24, 1940, in Nekoosa.
He served in the U.S. Army.
After being self-employed for many years, he then worked for Great Plains Gas in Eagle River, first as a salesman and then as district manager.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Alice TeKampe; one sister, Nellie Sigle, and two brothers, Gary and Ed.
Survivors include three daughters, Denise (Jack) Paige of Largo, Fla., and Michele (Alex) Nylund and Heather (Faron) Crabtree, both of Eagle River; three sons, Don TeKampe Sandberg of Scandinavia, and Tim and Dan Jr., both of Eagle River; one brother, Richard of Chipley, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by a special friend, Evelyn Hunt.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m.
Gilbert A. Wolff
Gilbert A. Wolff of Eagle River died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, at Eagle River Memorial Hospital. He was 80.
Mr. Wolff was born April 20, 1925, in Milwaukee, the son of Richard and Marie (nee Kaestner) Wolff.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Before he retired, he worked in the Public Works Department for the village of River Hills.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Erwin (Emma), Herbert (Katie), Raymond, Alfred and Elmer (Elsie); and one sister, Erna (Marvin).
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Theresa; two sons, Robert and David (Michelle); three daughters, Debra (Larry), Cynthia and Marie (Steven); a brother, Richard (Eva); four sisters, Anita (Elmer), Lorraine (Charles), Violet (Harold) and Jeanette (Lawrence); nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held Monday, Feb. 6, at Bolger Funeral Home-Minocqua Chapel.
Interment
will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery.
Longtime Lincoln town clerk,
Bauer dies at age 60 of cancer
Sandee Bauer, who served as the Lincoln town clerk for more than 25 years, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, from complications of breast cancer. She was 60.
Bauer began serving as the Lincoln town clerk in 1979 and her job expanded to include the treasurer's position in 1993. She continued to serve in the joint position until her death.
“She will be very much missed,” said Lincoln Town Chairman Richard Stoegbauer. “She was like a sister to most of us and always there when you needed her. I can't say enough good about her.”
Because of prior employment at a local title company, she had a strong knowledge of abstracts and procedures.
“She knew everything in her head and was very knowledgeable about many things,” said Stoegbauer. “It will be difficult to replace her.”
Since the late 1980s, Bauer also served as secretary for the Landfill Venture Group, the organization that oversees the operation of the Highway G Landfill & Waste Processing Facility.
“She was involved as secretary for the group from the beginning. She has done a lot of work here and knew a lot about how it ran from the beginning,” said Mark Busha, landfill facilities manager. “We will miss her a lot.”
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. Visitation will precede the service beginning at noon at the funeral home.
A Wisconsin native, Bauer was born April 11, 1945, and was a lifelong resident of Eagle River.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Kevin (Loretta) of De Pere; a brother, Pete (Cherie) Bellman of Eagle River; two sisters, Beverly Reschan and Audrey Grady, both of Eagle River; and a granddaughter, Hannah Rose Bauer.
She is further survived by her longtime companion, Jimmy Vales.

James G. Kramer
James G. Kramer, 56, formerly of Eagle River, Wis., passed away Feb. 7, after a long battle with cancer.
Survivors include wife, Mary (Miene); sons, Kevin and Garrett, daughter, Alissa (Brian) Carlson; grandson, Dylan; sisters, Shirley (Peter) Tenger and Lorraine (Hank) Berenz; brother, Alex; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim graduated from Eagle River High School and obtained a bachelor's degree from Lewis University in aviation management. A former officer and helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army (CW4), he owned and operated Eagle Air Helicopters in Chicago, Ill. After returning to Eagle River in 1989, he was active in real estate in the area and helped to rebuild the helicopter now in front of the American Legion Hall. He will be missed by his family and many friends throughout the United States.
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, with a service at 1 p.m. at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore, Villa Park, IL 60181. After the service, a processional will take him to his final resting place at Arlington Cemetery on Lake Street and County Line Road, Elmhurst, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled Veterans Association or flowers can be sent to the funeral home.
Nellie Gaudin Kelm
MADISON — Nellie Gaudin Kelm, age 89, passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at her residence in Sebring Assisted Living Community.
Nellie was born on the island of Guernsey, England, on July 12, 1916, to parents George and Phillipa (DeBroder) Prince.
She spent her early years growing up in Racine, Wis., and various other Midwest cities. She attended Horlick High School in Racine and Mt. Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis., for nurse's training.
On Oct. 15, 1938, Nellie and Arnold Waldemar Kelm were married in Racine.
Her life was spent as a mother, housewife and registered nurse.
Nellie was a member of Union Tabernacle in Racine, St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Racine, Blackhawk Evangelical Free Church in Madison, Wis., and Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Madison.
She was president of the Women's Architectural League of Madison from 1966 to 1968. Her personal interests were music (piano and violin) and traveling through the states. She had a summer home in Eagle River, Wis.
Nellie is survived by her son, Captain Kenneth (Cheryl) Kelm of Camano Island, Wash.; her grandchildren, Skyler (Kristy) Kelm of Everett, Wash.; Misty (Mitsu) Kodama of Bothell, Wash.; and Dustin (Katie) Kelm of Edina, Minn.; and her great-grandchildren, Sierra and Mackenzie Kelm, and Alex, Hanna and Anthony Kodama.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, on March 30, 1968; her parents, George and Phillipa; her infant son, Dennis; and her sister, Phyllis Knudsen.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Cress Funeral Home, Madison, with Pastor David Carlson officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Interment
was Friday, Feb. 10, at Graceland Cemetery in Racine, with arrangements handled through Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home in Racine.
