James Alan 'Jim' Randall
James A. Randall of Eagle River, Wis., died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at home. He was 52.
Mr. Randall was born May 3, 1953, in Elkhorn, Wis., the son of Edson and Dorothy (nee Malsch) Randall. He was raised in Burlington, Wis., and moved to Conover, Wis., in 1968.
Jim worked in construction his whole life, mostly as a mason and concrete worker.
He married Kathleen Wills
Aug. 9, 1982, in Crystal Falls, Mich.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing and yard work.
Mr. Randall was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and two aunts.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Stacy of Trevor, Wis., and Amanda “Mandy” of Eagle River; two sons, Jason of Cudahy, Wis., and James Jr. “Jimmy” of Appleton, Wis.; two brothers, Edson “Randy” (Carol) of Lodi, Wis., and Greg (Theresa) of Eagle River; one grandson, Brandon, of Trevor; one aunt, Muriel, of Lake Geneva, Wis.; mother-in-law, Margaret (Peggy) Wills of Eagle River; and father-in-law, William “Bill” Wills of Eagle River.
He is also survived by nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends. Jim is loved and missed by all.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Eagle River. Fr. Robert Koszarek will officiate. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 11 a.m.
Clarence 'Tuddy' Boone
Clarence “Tuddy” Boone, a lifelong resident of Phelps, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was 77.
Mr. Boone was born Feb. 15, 1925, in Phelps, and married his wife, Sharon, Jan. 7, 1950.
Kenneth W. Celmer
Kenneth W. Celmer, a lifelong resident of Eagle River, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was 64.
Mr. Celmer was born Sept. 29, 1937, in Eagle River and served in the U.S. Air Force beginning in 1955.
Russell G. Kern
Russell G. Kern of Eau Claire died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire. He was 80.
Mr. Kern was born June 1, 1922, in Rusk County, the son of Homer and Mable (nee Johnson) Kern.
Verneeda E. Calkins
Verneeda Ethel Calkins, formerly of Land O' Lakes, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Evergreen Health Care Center in Shawano. She was 82.
Mrs. Calkins was born May 29, 1920, in Zion, Ill., the daughter of John and Lydiabelle (Berte) Hopperton.
Elmer Gerondale
Elmer Gerondale of Three Lakes, formerly of Green Bay, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003. He was 80.
Mr. Gerondale was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Brussels, the son of Frank and Libby (nee Tebon) Gerondale.
Michael F. Grillo
Michael F. Grillo of Eagle River died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was 50.
Mr. Grillo was born April 1, 1952, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Anthony and Lillian (nee Karecki) Grillo.
Allan O. Bergstrom
Allan O. Bergstrom of Winchester died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was 68.
Mr. Bergstrom was born Nov. 25, 1934, in Chicago, the son of Oscar and Mae Bergstrom.
Kurt A. Boehm
Kurt A. Boehm of Three Lakes died Monday, June 9, 2003, at his home. He was 85.

Arnold T. Kannenberg
Arnold T. Kannenberg of St. Germain, formerly of West Bend, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff. He was 90.
Mr. Kannenberg was born June 25, 1912, in Jackson, the son of Frederick and Louise (nee Voigt) Kannenberg.
Lorinda 'Rena' Ratliff
Lorinda “Rena” Ratliff of Land O' Lakes died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, following a long illness. She was 56.
She was born May 27, 1947, in Phelps, the daughter of Frank and Sarah (nee Lunde) Wyant, and was a longtime resident of Land O' Lakes and Neenah.
Albert Godeck
Albert Godeck of Waukesha, formerly of Eagle River, died Monday, May 31, 2004. He was 95.

Ted Bonkowski
Ted Bonkowski of Three Lakes died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Taylor Park Health Care Center in Rhinelander. He was 83.
Mr. Bonkowski was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Joseph and Katherine (nee Morytko) Bonkowski.
Harold 'Ike' Buell
Harold “Ike” Buell of Phelps died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at his home. He was 87.
Mr. Buell was born Feb. 6, 1917, in Oshkosh to Ervin and Alvina (nee Pommerening) Buell. He was raised and attended schools in Phelps and later married Mildred Miller.
Helen Emma Burger
Helen Emma Burger of Neenah, a longtime summer resident of Three Lakes, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh. She was 89.
Mrs. Burger was born April 16, 1915, in Monticello, the daughter of John and Emma (nee Maurer) Tschanz.
Delwin C. 'Del' Brophy
Delwin C. “Del” Brophy of Fredonia, formerly of Land O' Lakes, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee Campus in Mequon. He was 77.
Mr. Brophy was born July 16, 1927, in Saukville, the son of Frank and Lulu (nee Bell) Brophy.
Genevieve Mary Kuran
Genevieve Mary Kuran of Eagle River died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Aspirus Lillian Kerr Healthcare Center in Phelps. She was 91.
Mrs. Kuran was born Jan. 3, 1914, in Iowa, and moved to Eagle River as a young child where she was raised and attended schools.
Lorraine Maulsby
Lorraine Maulsby of Eagle River died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at her home. She was 73.
She was born April 12, 1931, in Boston, Mass.
Barbara Ann Beard
Barbara Ann Beard of Sayner and Des Plaines, Ill., died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, in Rochester, N.Y. She was 65.
Mrs. Beard is survived by her husband, Richard E.; one son, Richard; one daughter, Bonnie Jean (Kenneth) Patterson; and three grandchildren.
Lorraine Edith Garrison
Lorraine Edith Garrison, a lifelong resident of Phelps, died Friday, March 25, 2005, in Eagle River. She was 74.
Mrs. Garrison was born July 20, 1930, in Phelps, the daughter of Hjamler and Gladys (nee Oberg) Osterberg.
Ruth M. Kirkegaard
Ruth M. Kirkegaard of Lake Geneva, formerly of Land O' Lakes, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Eagle River Memorial Hospital. She was 70.
She was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Libertyville, Ill., the daughter of Alfred and Agnes (nee Wheeler) Josephsen.
Paul S. Chlapecka
A memorial service will be held for Paul S. Chlapecka of Eagle River Saturday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at VFW Post 8637, located at 418 W. Pine St. in Eagle River.
Mr. Chlapecka, a veteran of the Korean conflict, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at his home. He was 75.
Teriann K. Heinritz
Teriann K. Heinritz of Eagle River died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at her winter home in Zephyrhills, Fla., of complications related to heart disease and diabetes. She was 57.
She was born March 31, 1948, in Appleton, the daughter of Robert and Doris Heinritz. She spent much of her life in Appleton. Prior to her disability retirement, she was employed in the Human Resources Department of Outagamie County Courthouse.
Marjorie I. Richards
Marjorie I. Richards of Sayner died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander. She was 83.
Mrs. Richards was born April 18, 1922, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Ed and Ella Voeltner.
Harvey C. Van Lanen
Harvey C. Van Lanen of Chicago, Ill., a 63-year summer resident of Eagle River, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006. He was 81.
Mr. Van Lanen was born in De Pere in 1924.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
He worked in the shower curtain business in Chicago, New York, N.Y., Los Angeles, Calif., Paris, France, and London, England.
An avid Green Bay Packers fan, his hobbies included fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice (nee Klipfel); his parents; and three brothers.
Survivors include one son, Roy; two daughters, Delores Van Lanen and Sharon (John) Lohse; and five grandchildren.
A funeral service was held May 1 at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge, Ill.
Interment
was private.

Art Tommet
Art Tommet of Eagle River died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at his home. He was 85.
He was born April 25, 1921, in South Milwaukee.
Mr. Tommet served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW.
A 44-year employee of Bucyrus-Eire in South Milwaukee, he retired in 1983.
His hobbies included playing softball, dartball, handball and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Bernadyne; three sons, Steven of Hartford, Conn., John (Gina) of South Milwaukee and Thomas (Theresa) of Whitewater; two daughters, Kristine (Mike) Bowsman of Peach Tree City, Ga., and Susan (Al) Janusiak of South Milwaukee; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held April 29 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Eagle River.
Albert 'Al' Schoofs
Albert “Al” Schoofs of Eagle River died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Wausau Hospital in Wausau. He was 88.
Mr. Schoofs was born Dec. 22, 1917, in Milwaukee.
He served as a master tech sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
A resident of Eagle River since 1981, he retired from Marshall Fields in Wauwatosa, and owned and operated Tosa Towing in the Milwaukee area for more than 15 years.
He married Marion Schmidt in 1943 in San Diego, Calif.
Mr. Schoofs was a member and president of SERVE, the Northern Retirees and was past commander of the Eagle River Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His hobbies included playing golf, fishing and playing cards.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Eloise (Jeffrey) Potter of West Bend; one son, Steven (Roberta) of Johnson Creek; one brother, Nicholas (Joan) of Wheeling, Ill.; one sister, Dorothy Brever of Oak Creek; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River and Thursday, May 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eagle River, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. The Revs. Philip Garrison and Patricia Tucker will officiate.
There will be a VFW service at 7 p.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home Wednesday, May 3.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
Helen M. Lassan
Helen M. Lassan, formerly of Eagle River, died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Onalaska Care Center in Onalaska. She was 85.
Mrs. Lassan was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of George and Amalia Juhasz.
She married Josef Lassan May 4, 1946. They owned Crystal Springs Resort in Eagle River for many years.
Mrs. Lassan was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983; her parents; one granddaughter, Jessie Jo Boucher; one sister, Marge; and one brother, George.
In 1990, she moved to Holmen, where she became a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.
Her hobbies included taking creative writing classes.
Survivors include one daughter, Helen (Kenneth) Boucher of Holmen; one son, Josef (Kathy) of Enterprise, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
A funeral service was held May 2 at St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Church in Holmen.
Inurnment took place following the service and burial will be at a later date.
