Annie Fletcher
Annie Pearl Fletcher, 70, of Chattanooga, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, in a local hospital.
Survivors: daughter, Gloria Gilbert, Louisville, Ky.; and a sister, Clara Malone, Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 14, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Avondale Chapel.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
The body will lie in state today after noon.

Byron Griswold
Byron Eugene Griswold, 75, of Soddy-Daisy, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001.
Mr. Griswold was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and a guidance counselor at Hixson High School for many years.
He is survived by a sister, Eloise Gann, Soddy-Daisy; nephews, David Griswold, Nashville and Terry Griswold, Lansing, Mich.
Mr. Griswold made an anatomical donation to Vanderbilt School of Medicine.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Maurice Hicks Jr.
Maurice Edward "J.R." Hicks Jr., 30, of Chattanooga died Wednesday, April 11, 2001.
Mr. Hicks was an avid tournament fisherman in the Chattanooga area, a lifetime member of BASS and a member of North American Fishing Club.
Survivors include his wife, Malinda Hicks; sons, John Thomas Hicks and Maurice E. Hicks III, both of Chattanooga; his parents, Maurice E. Hicks Sr., Meridian, Miss., and Emma Trussell, Chattanooga; brother, Brian Hicks, Ooltewah; stepsister, Traci Yancey; and stepbrother, Shane Stubbs, both of Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. today at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Redmond officiating.
Visitation will be today, 3-7 p.m.
John Holiday
John Holiday, 79, died in a local health care facility Wednesday, April 11, 2001.
Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland.
Juanita Kaar
Juanita Garrison Kaar, 79, of Hixson passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Windy Hill Hospital in Marietta, Ga.
Mrs. Kaar, a retiree of Hancock Fabrics in Hixson, was 79 years old. She was born in Atlas, Ala., and was the wife of the late Kenneth E. Kaar, a TVA retiree. She and Mr. Kaar lived in Hixson from 1971 until he passed away in 1990, and she stayed until her relocation to Kennesaw, Ga., shortly after suffering a stroke in 1994.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Ann Kaar Scott; two grandchildren, Katherine and Patrick Scott, all of Kennesaw, Ga.; and her son, Jim Kaar of Azusa, Calif.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
There will be no visitation.
The North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mildred Mears
Mildred R. Mears, 96, of Chattanooga died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Mountainside Nursing Center In Jasper, Ga.
Mrs. Mears grew up and lived in Kansas until 1942, when she moved with her family to Memphis. In 1951, she moved to Chattanooga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hershel Mears. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of Sunnyside Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Billy Roy and Rhetta Yerby Mears; a grandson, Bradley Roy Mears, all of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Crowdis and Lila Mears; and two nephews, Jim Crowdis and Jim Mears and their families, all of Southern California.
Services will be held 6 p.m. today at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Gilbert officiating.
Burial will be held 3 p.m. CDT Saturday at Memphis Memorial Park in Memphis, Tenn.
The family will receive friends from 4 until funeral time today at the funeral home.
Destiny Paris
Destiny Jade Bartlett Paris, infant, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at a local hospital.
Preceded in death by grandfather, John Tillman Paris.
She is survived by her mother, Cecylia Renee Bartlett Paris and father, Roger Kevin Paris; two half brothers, Noah Bartlett and Madison Tillman Paris; three half sisters, Amy Yvonne Paris, Megan Michelle Paris and Dakota Storm Paris; grandmother, Linda Joyce Kroll; grandfather, Martin Harry Kroll Sr.; grandmother, Mildred Paris; uncle, Martin Harry Kroll Jr.; aunt, Joan Womack; cousin, Cade Womack; great-aunt, Peany Miller; great-uncle, Larry Miller.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Betty June Raby, 61, of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. David Kell and Rev. Tim Scott officiating.
Interment
will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Lloyd Raines Sr.
Lloyd George Raines Sr., 80, of Chattanooga, died at his residence Wednesday afternoon, April 11, 2001.
Mr. Raines was retired from Combustion Engineering Co. of Chattanooga as a crane operator after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local No. 656 of Chattanooga. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Navy. He was of the Nazarene faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Rose Brock Raines; and son, Larry Ray Raines.
Surviving are wife, Haley Raines, Chattanooga; son, George L. Raines, Chattanooga; sister, Louise West, Fort Ogelthorpe, Ga.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel with Rev. Don Hawkins officiating.
Interment
will be in Payne Cemetery, Trenton, Ga.
The family will receive friends after 11 a.m. today at the Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, Ga.
Anthony Robinson
Anthony LaSean Robinson, 31, of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in a local health care facility.
He was a graduate of Kirkman Tech.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Joy Marsh; brother, Christopher Robinson; uncle, McArther Marsh.
Survivors: father, Raymond Robinson Sr.; stepmother, Marie Robinson; three sisters, Trayquine, Crystal and Felicia; three brothers, Willis, Clifford, and Raymond Robinson Jr.; two stepsisters, Angelia and Rose; three stepbrothers, Alfred, Albert, and David; grandmother, Sue Marsh; aunts; uncles; very dear cousin, Bradford Clemons; other relatives and friends.
Services: today, 1 p.m., in the New Monumental Baptist Church, Dr. Virgil Caldwell and other ministers officiating.
Interment: Garmany Cemetery.
