Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Melvin Dickens Sr.
Melvin Dickens Sr. died Thursday, May 11, 2000, in a local nursing home. He was 82.

Sue Fulkerson
Sue Turner Fulkerson of East Ridge died Wednesday, May 10, 2000. She was 65.
She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta, Ga.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Fulkerson; two sons, Paul R. Fulkerson, Oklahoma City, and Jerry B. Fulkerson, Seattle; three sisters, Dorothy Loney and Ruth Carmichael, both of Chattanooga, and Bess Springer, Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Joseph E. Turner, Cleveland, Ohio, and Donald R. Turner, Chattanooga; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Saturday at noon EST at Sequatchie Memorial Gardens with Dr. Arthur H. Jones Jr. officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Francis Godsey of Ooltewah died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at her home. She was 55.

Bobbie "Barbara" Holloway died Thursday, May 11, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 60.

James Hudnall Jr.
James Edward Hudnall Jr. died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 86.
The Chattanooga native was a retired foreman from Combustion Engineering. He was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra H. Howard.
Survivors include a son, Barry Hudnall, Chattanooga; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Saturday at noon in Forest Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Russ Ragon officiating.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wann Funeral Home.
George Lawson
George Cleveland Lawson, retired from U.S. Pipe and Foundry, died Monday, May 8, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 79.
The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at St. Paul AME Church with the Rev. E. Lewis Willis officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The body will be at the church from noon to 1 p.m.

Audrey Delonga Long Patterson of Hixson, and a native of Bessemer, Ala., died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Patterson.
Survivors include her daughters, Ara Grayson, Owasso, Okla., Edna Lewis, Atlanta, and Gloria P. Moses, Hixson; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. CST at Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer.
There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.

He as a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, a Baptist and a retiree from Koehring Southern.
Survivors include his wife, Ione Sweatt Simpson; two daughters, Tina Massey, Chattanooga, and Rence Weitz, Carrollton, Ga.; brother, Raymond Simpson, Chattanooga; sister, Lucille Parker, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with the Rev. Jerry Shadrick officiating.
Burial will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Terry Slaughter died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 35.

Arnold Leon Sloan of Signal Mountain died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 74.
He was a Baptist and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Woneda Lavona Davis Sloan; one daughter, Joan Elizabeth Sloan, Signal Mountain; two sons, Michael F. Sloan, Whitwell, Tenn., and Gary Arnold Sloan, Signal Mountain; two sisters, Betty Lusk, Dayton, Tenn., and Cauline Wolfe, Harrison, Tenn.; one brother, Edward Sloan Jr., Signal Mountain; two granddaughters; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Mel Crosson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to Waldens Ridge Emergency Service.

Percy Williams Sr.
Percy L. "Buddy" Williams Sr. died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 77.
He was a member of St. Philip Lutheran Church, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a former member of Elks Lodge 440.
Survivors include a daughter, Alice F. Brown; son, Percy L. Williams Jr.; sister, Viola Carson; and a brother, Henry Williams, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Philip Lutheran Church with Meridith Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 10 a.m.
