Theresa Priest Anderson died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in an area health care facility. She was 81.
A graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. George Schmidt officiating.
Visitation will be today from noon until the service at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.

Jimmy Bailey
Jimmy Bailey died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 64.
Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Miles Barnette
Miles Harrison Barnette, a native of Mount Sterling, Ohio, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 58.
Mr. Barnette was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Hersie Lee Ray Barnette.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Dean Barnette; two sons, Mark Barnette, Southbend, Ind., and Tommy Barnette, Rossville, Ga.; two brothers, James C. and Roy J. Barnette, both of Chattanooga; three sisters, Ersie L. Grosalski, and Naomi G. Cornwell, both of Jackson, Mich., and Erma L. Rose, Vandercook Lake, Mich.; and a granddaughter.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Brandon officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Onnerzell Braswell
Onnerzell Braswell died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 75.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Katharyn Butler
Katharyn Elizabeth Butler of Soddy-Daisy died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 77.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Painter and the Rev. Ken Herring officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, East.

Mary Cook
Mary Jeanne Cook died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 67.
Services will be private. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.

Jack Cresswell
Jack C. Cresswell, of Lookout Valley, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 64.
Mr. Cresswell was a native of Varnell, Ga., and the owner of Cresswell's Garage. He was an independent Hamilton County School bus driver with 20 years of service. Mr. Cresswell was retired from the Army National Guard with 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Lena Gadston Cresswell.
Survivors include a daughter, Terry Jones, Chattanooga; three sons, David and Darrell Cresswell, both of Chattanooga, and Larry Cresswell, Florida; two sisters, Reba Hall, Georgia, and Betty Rogers, Chattanooga; four brothers, J.C., Ralph and Truman Cresswell, and Gary Breeden, all of Chattanooga; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wann Funeral Home with the Rev. Clinton Graham officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens West.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home

Genevieve Donovan
Genevieve Donovan died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in a local nursing home. She was 88.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Grant Eldridge
Grant Eldridge died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 91.
The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. L.E. Butler and the Rev. E.A. Eldridge officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Gladys Earle Fain died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in a local health care center.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Gary Atkins and the Rev. Wallace Angel officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Clarice Ferguson
Clarice J. Ferguson died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 82.
The funeral will be today 10 a.m. in the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Trivett officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Kenneth Fonseth
Kenneth E. Fonseth of Hixson died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 59.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in St. Paul.
Arrangements are by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Dorothy Gibson
Dorothy W. Gibson died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 87.
Mrs. Gibson owned and operated Dodson's Fruit Market. She was preceded in death by her husband, John N. Gibson.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy D. Gibson, Soddy-Daisy; daughter, Polly Gibson, Soddy-Daisy; two sisters, Georgia Smith and Marva Jean "Little Bill" Watkins, both of Soddy-Daisy; and two granddaughters.
A graveside service will be today at 11 a.m. at the Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Don Lasley officiating.
Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral home.

Eloise Grissom
Eloise Walker Grissom died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, in a retirement center in Brevard, N.C. She was 78.
A graveside service will be today at noon in Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Harold D. Ray officiating.
Visitation will be today from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southeast Tennessee Chapter, 735 Broad St., Chattanooga, TN 37402.

Evelyn Helton
Evelyn B. Helton died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at her residence. She was 88.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Ky,. with the Rev. John Helton officiating.
Burial will be in Sloan's Valley Cemetery, Ky.

Emma E. Holmes died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 77.
Mrs. Holmes was a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, William J. Williams, New York; sister, Martha Days, Chattanooga; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be today at 1 p.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens with elder Wilbert McClure officiating.
Arrangements are by the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Vera "Susie" Bullard Hooper died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at her home. She was 84.
The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Central Church of Christ with minister Gene Arnold and minister David Schonhoff officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Eugenia "Genia" Lynn Everett Hurst died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 33.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Seton Tomyn officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruby Gazelle Hassler Long died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at her home. She was 96.

Joseph Johnston McCroskey died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at his home. He was 47.
A graveside service will Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Landis of Grace Episcopal Church officiating.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Farris Mulkey Jr.
Farris Mulkey Jr. died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 64.
A memorial service will be today at 11 a.m. at Christ Church-Episcopal with the Rev. Jocelyn Bell and the Rev. Lou Garcia officiating.
The family will receive friends today one hour prior to the service at Christ Church-Episcopal.

J.B. Myers, of Soddy-Daisy died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at his home. He was 70.
Mr. Myers was a member of Straightway Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Myers; four daughters, Thelma Myers, Judy Rogers, Pat Wallace and Shirley Hood, all of Soddy-Daisy; and four sons, Jay and Leonard Myers, David, Ray and Steve Essex, all of Soddy-Daisy.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Aaron Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Dodd Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after noon at the funeral home.

Betty Y. Payne died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at her home. She was 63.

Mrs. Silverstein was a native of Pensacola, Fla., and had lived in Chattanooga for the past 53 years. She was a member of the Mizpah Congregation.
Survivors include her husband, Jay A. Silverstein; and two daughters, Jan Silverstein, Chicago, and Mathilde Silverstein, Boston, Mass.
Services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Mizpah Congregation or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Clarence C. Smitherman Jr. died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 64.
A memorial service will be today at 4 p.m. at Northside Presbyterian Church. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends in the church's Centennial Room after the service.

James L. Swanson died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 58.
The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Milo Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The body will be in the funeral home from today until the service.

Wilma Taylor
Wilma Young Taylor died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at her home. She was 76.
A graveside service will be today at 11 a.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Chaplain Dean Chattham officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Flora Walker
Flora F. Walker died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 79.
Mrs. Walker was a native of Fort Payne, Ala., and had lived there before moving to Chattanooga in 1968. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine W. White.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd Walker; two sons, Chester Walker, Henagar, Ala., and Billy Walker, Cleveland, Tenn.; a daughter, Evelene Gallahar, Hendersonville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Nicholas officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 850 Fort Wood Place, Chattanooga, TN 37403 or the American Heart Association, 519 E. Fourth St., Chattanooga, TN 37403.

Elaine Ward
Elaine Ward, of Hixson, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 86.
Mrs. Ward was a native of Kansas City, Mo., and had lived in the Chattanooga area for most of her life. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Kimble, first husband Dr. George M. Kimble and second husband Fred Ward.
Survivors include two daughters, Gayle K. Case, Chattanooga, and Barbara Shivelle, Palm Coast, Fla.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be private.
Arrangements are by the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Homes.
