Joseph Murray Burke died Friday, May 26, 2000, in a Waverly, Tenn., hospital. He was 73.
The funeral will be today at 7 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Mooney and the Rev. Hallie Warren officiating. A private burial will be Tuesday in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.

Cletus W. Cauthen of Hixson died Friday, May 26, 2000, at his home. He was 78.

Bennett H. "Hut" Davis died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at his home. He was 68.

Mary Eslinger
Mary Smith Eslinger died Saturday, May 27, 2000, in an area health care facility. She was 83.
Mrs. Eslinger was preceded in death by her husband, Carl "Ed" Eslinger.
Survivors include a son, David Eslinger, Virginia; three sisters, Glenna Gribble, Chattanooga, Betty Payne and Christine Hicks, both of Dalton, Ga.; four brothers, John, Benny and Felton Smith, all of Dalton, and Ralph Smith, Eatonton, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Daniels officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

Fred Frisbee Sr.
Fred Allen Frisbee Sr., died Saturday, May 27, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 72.
Mr. Frisbee was a longtime resident of Asheville, N.C., and had lived in the Chattanooga area since 1964. He was a member of Mountain Creek Church of Christ. Mr. Frisbee was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Frisbee.
Survivors include four sons, Fred A. Frisbee Jr., Signal Mountain, Randy L., Dean and Max R. Frisbee, all of Chattanooga; one brother, Willard Frisbee, Marshall, N.C.; one sister, Lola Lunsford, Asheville; nine grandchildren; and seven-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with minister Dan Mayfield officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Henry Gee
Henry Franklin Gee of Red Bank died Saturday, May 27, 2000, at his home. He was 80.

Pauline Greer
Pauline "Polly" Addison Greer of Ooltewah, died Saturday, May 27, 2000, at her home. She was 81.
Mrs. Greer was a native of Castlewood, Va., and a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Tenso, Va., and had resided in Rossville and Ooltewah for the past four years. She was the former postmaster for Tenso, Va., and was the widow of Woodrow Wilson Jessee and James C. Greer.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Sue Nix, Ooltewah, and Linda Lou Kingsley, Rossville, Ga.; one son, Jack Jessee, Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters, Stella Combs, Lebanon, Va., Tommie Luzzader, Columbus, Ohio, and Thelma Saddler, Lebanon, Va.; one brother, the Rev. James Addison, Detroit, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. John Eldridge officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joseph Harvey
Joseph David Harvey died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at his home. He was 37.
Mr. Harvey was a mixer at a local chemical company and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, William David Harvey.
Survivors include his mother, Sylvia Nyoka Newsome Harvey; two brothers, Johnny and Gary Harvey; sister, Analise Dease; and a grandmother, Irene Newsome, all of Chattanooga.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Wesley Livingston officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.

Obbie Hopkins Jr.
Obbie Hopkins Jr. died Saturday, May 27, 2000, at his home. He was 67.

Claude McNabb
Claude Herschell McNabb died Sunday, May 28, 2000, in a local health care facility. He was 75.
Mr. McNabb attended grammar school in Lenoir City, Tenn., Athens, Tenn., and Niota, Tenn. He graduated from McMinn High School and later attended Lee College and the University of Chattanooga. Mr. McNabb was veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater with 25th Medical Battalion, attached to the 27th infantry division and later was honorably discharged.
Mr. McNabb attended the Church of God.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Mitchell, Ringgold, Ga.; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Leland Painter
Leland Painter of Soddy-Daisy died Sunday, May 28, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 66.
Mr. Painter was a member of Mowbray Mountain Baptist Church and retired from South Central Bell with 40 years of service. He was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette R. Painter; one son, Greg I. Painter, Chattanooga; one sister, Jo Ann Paschal, Memphis; one brother, Samuel N. Painter, Winchester, Ky.; and a grandson.
The funeral will be Tuesday at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Lanny Tate officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Cecil Eugene Parden died Saturday, May 27, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 65.
Mr. Parden was a native of Chattanooga.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Parden; two sons, Ronnie and Rodney Parden, both of Chattanooga; two brothers, Wayne Parden, Chattanooga, and E.T. Bud Parden, San Jose, Calif.; and two sisters, Marvene Fann, Rossville, Ga., and Carolyn Manley, LaFayette, Ga.
A graveside service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Grider officiating.
Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Homes.

Charles H. Ross Jr. died Monday, May 22, 2000, at his home. He was 66.
