Billye Bates
Billye Blaine Flint Bates of Hixson, a native of Louisville, Ky., died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at her home. She was 55.
Mrs. Bates was a Methodist and was preceded in death by her father, Earl Willard Flint Jr.
Survivors include her husband, John L. Bates; two daughters, Michelle Louise Bates, Orlando, Fla., and Angela Bates Wade, Chattanooga; two sons, James Earl Bates, California, and John Paul Bartley Bates, Hixson; two sisters, Phyllis C. Barlup and Donna C. Douglas, both of Lynn Haven, Fla.; brother, Steven M. Flint, Milton, Fla.; and a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. William Owens officiating.
Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Callie Battle
Callie Battle died Friday, May 12, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 82.

Melvin Dickens Sr. died Thursday, May 11, 2000, in a local nursing home. He was 82.

Robert Fritz
Robert K. Fritz, a resident of Soddy-Daisy, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at his home. He was 66.
The funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Clark officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends today from 11 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
Sue Fulkerson
Sue Turner Fulkerson of East Ridge died Wednesday, May 10, 2000. She was 65.
A graveside service will be today at noon EST at Sequatchie Memorial Gardens with Dr. Arthur H. Jones Jr. officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Francis Godsey
Francis Godsey of Ooltewah died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at her home. She was 55.
Mrs. Godsey was a native of Chattanooga and a member of Gospel Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Godsey Sr.; two brothers, Sonny and Ronnie Crowder Sr.; and a sister, Flona Bettis.
Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Godsey Jr., Ringgold, and Tim M. Godsey, Harrison, Tenn.; two daughters, Sherry Oliver, Ooltewah, and Sandra Coleman, Ringgold, Ga.; mother, Mollie Frazier Crowder, Ooltewah; three sisters, Ella Wallent, LaPlace, La., Shelia Pruitt, East Ridge, and Revonda Crowder, Ooltewah; and nine grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Marc Myers and the Rev. James Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
Visitation will be all day today, Sunday and Monday at the funeral home.

Bobbie "Barbara" Holloway died Thursday, May 11, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 60.

Goldie Trueheart Felts Minton, a native of Flat Rock, Ala., died Friday, May 12, 2000, in a local health care facility. She was 83.
Mrs. Minton was a member of Brainerd First Presbyterian Church and the Hill City Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew B. Minton.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn M. Reese, Rainsville, Ala., and Billie J. Smith, Ringgold, Ga.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be today at 3:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. John Lanham officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Winston Ricketson
Winston George Ricketson of Hixson died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at his home. He was 78.
Mr. Ricketson was a native of Marshall, Mich., and a Protestant. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant. He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Lewis.
Survivors include two cousins, Edwin and Vera DeFrance, Hixson.
The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton, Tenn., with the Rev. Tommy Wilkey officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens.
