Justin Bass
Justin Lance Bass died Thursday, June 15, 2000, in a local hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 21.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Russell and the Rev. Gary Grogg officiating.
Burial will follow in New McDonald Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 3832 Youngstown Road, Chattanooga, TN 37416 or to St. John United Methodist Church, 3921 Murray Hill Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home

Frank Chandler
Frank Leon Chandler died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at a local hospital. He was 73.
He was an Army veteran and belonged to the Church of God. Mr. Chandler was retired from Rossville Yarns.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva Chandler.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Barron, Chattanooga; sons Dan, Wayne and Leon Chandler, Chattanooga; a sister, Louise Moore, LaFayette. Ga.; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Hawkins Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dearrie Cousin
Dearrie Cousin died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, in an area hospital. She was 91.
The funeral will be Monday at noon at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Walton officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Sarah Davis-Perry
Sarah Lea Davis-Perry died Thursday, June 15, 2000. She was 21.
She had attended East Ridge High School and St. Martin's Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Howard B. Hilton.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Perry; sons, Jacob Frederick and William Perry, Chattanooga; parents, Pam Hilton-Frederick and Stan Frederick and Timothy Davis, Chattanooga; sisters, Mary Ann Kelly, Rossville, and Katherine Davis, Hixson; grandparents, Leola Hilton, Ringgold, Ga., and Lila Davis, Rossville.
A graveside service will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Thacker officiating.
Visitation will be Monday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Home/Chambliss Shelter, 315 Gillespie Road, Chattanooga, TN 37411 or to the Domestic Violence Shelter, 300 E. 8th St., Chattanooga, TN 37403.

Henry Dawson
Henry Dewey "Dee" Dawson died Thursday, June 15, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 78.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Evans and the Rev. David Pittman officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Mary Bryant Dill
Mary Bryant Dill died Friday in a Houston health care facility. She was 92.
Arrangements will be announced by Heritage Funeral Home.

Jim Ghiden
James "Jim" Brown Ghiden died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 91.
The funeral will be Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Bethel AME Church, with the Rev. Freeman Cooper and the Rev. Edward Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Sammie Golston
Sammie Marie Golston died Thursday, June 15, 2000, in an area hospital. She was 50.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. CDT at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, Jasper, Tenn., with the Rev. Cecil Baxter and the Rev. Harold Buck officiating.
Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.

Johnny Harden
Johnny Eugene Harden of Ooltewah died Thursday, June 15, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 69.
A graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with the Rev. Jimmy Simmons officiating.

Dewayne Heming
Dewayne Heming died Friday, June 16, 2000. He was 38.
A graduate of Bradley High School, Mr. Heming was a service assistant at Don Britton East Ridge Transmission.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sonja Jo Heming.
Survivors include his wife, Ann S. Heming; daughters, Annie Cate Heming and Rebecca Christine Heming, Chattanooga; father, Jay Heming, Cleveland, Tenn.; mother Frances Sosebe, Blue Ridge, Ga.; brother Doug Heming, Cleveland.
The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father James Vick officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Sarah Holder
Sarah Frances Holder died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at her home. She was 70.
Mrs. Holder was a member of Bayside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde F. Holder.
Survivors include a son, Gary F. Holder, Chattanooga; daughters, Terry Wintzinger and Sherry Freeman, Chattanooga, and Vicki Oswalk, Harrisburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Robert C. Stitts officiating.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or the Bayside Baptist Church Building Fund.

Jason Israel
Jason Ty Israel died Friday, June 16, 2000 at his residence. He was 25.
Mr. Israel graduated in 1994 from Central High School where he was active in ROTC. He was a member of Bayside Baptist Church and employed as a lab tech at Memorial Hospital. He was also active in karate, having earned his red belt.
Survivors include his mother, Joy Annette Israel, Harrison; father, James Monroe Israel, Chickamauga, Ga.; a brother, Alex Stock, Harrison; sisters, Jamie Annette Chafi and Jennifer Nicole Reynolds, Chattanooga.
A graveside service will be Monday in Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Bob Stitts officiating. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by Turner Funeral Homes Inc.

John Jones
John B. Jones died Friday, June 16, 2000, at his residence. He was 82.
Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Robert Martin
Robert Martin died Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at his home.
Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Frances McBee
Frances Gertrude McBee died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at her residence. She was 95.
Arrangements are by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Blake Shrader
Blake Anthony Shrader, infant son of Janice Shrader, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, in a local hospital.
Arrangements will be announced by the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.

Kevin Sims
Kevin DeWayne Sims died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 27.
A memorial service was held Friday at Central Baptist Church with Brian Foster officiating.
The body will be taken to Columbus for services Tuesday at Mount Vernon Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Monday at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Columbus.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Baptist Church School of Fine Arts, 5208 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343.
Arrangements are by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Rodney Thomas Jr.
Rodney Ricardo Thomas Jr. died Thursday, June 15, 2000, as a result of an auto accident. He was 20.
The funeral will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Shiloh Baptish Church, with the Rev. Morris Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
