A funeral service for David Gall, 67, of Niles, was held Tuesday, June 10, at St. Juliana Church in Chicago. Interment was at St. Adalbert Mausoleum, and arrangements were made by Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Chicago. Mr. Gall died June 6. He had worked as a senior system analyst for Aon Corp., and was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife Nancy; mother Lydia; mother-in-law Harriet Grek; brother Ronald (Marge) Gall; brother-in-law Rev. Richard Grek; sister-in-law Roberta (Gene) Dieder; and many nieces and nephews.

MICHAEL T. O'MALLEY Printer
Funeral services for Michael T. O'Malley, 29, of Niles were held on Saturday, May 31 at 10:30 a.m. at the Colonial Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Chicago. Interment followed in Des Plaines' All Saints Cemetery. Mr. O'Malley was born in Chicago on February 6, 1974. He worked as a painter for a construction company. He passed away Monday, May 26 in his Niles home. Mr. O'Malley was preceded in death by his father, John O'Malley. He is survived by his mother, Helga O'Malley; and sisters, Mary Squire, Etta Laubusch, and Jodee McCarthy.

MARY WOROBEC Homemaker
A service for Mary Worobec, 89, of Niles was held at Colonial Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Chicago, on Tuesday, June 3, Rev. Tom Baldonieri officiating. Cremation followed the service. Mrs. Worobec had been a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter Pauline Airth and grandchildren Mike Airth and Patrice (Sam) Prato.

EVELYN KRESKE Of Niles
Funeral services for Evelyn Kreske, 86, of Niles were held on Monday, June 2 at noon at the Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Chicago. Interment followed in St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles. Ms. Kreske was born in Chicago on October 22, 1916. She worked as a clerk for a printing company. She passed away on Friday, May 30 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Ms. Kreske is survived by her niece, Joyce Petersen.

LILLIAN BARTEL Homemaker
Funeral services for Lillian Bartel, 104, of Niles were held on Wednesday, June 11 at St. John Brebeuf Church in Niles. Arrangements were handled by the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Interment followed in Des Plaines' All Saints Cemetery. Mrs. Bartel was born in Chicago on January 29, 1899. She was a homemaker. She passed away on Sunday, June 8 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Mrs. Bartel was preceded in death by her husband, John Bartel; parents, George and Minnie Ebrom; and grandson, Robert Litz. She is survived by her daughter, Florence (Late Florian) Litz.

RICHARD D. SARNO Computer Programmer
A Funeral Mass for Richard D. Sarno, 58, of Niles, was held on June 3 at St. John Brebeuf Church. Interment was in Maryhill Cemetery. Mr. Sarno was born in Chicago on Nov. 22, 1944, and passed away on Friday, May 30, at Glenbrook Hospital. A veteran, Mr. Sarno had been a computer programmer for a trucking parts company. He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Sarno, of Niles, and Anthony (Jessica) Sarno; a daughter, Julie Sarno; sisters, Concetta Kadow and RuthAnne Orsini; and a brother, Joseph Sarno. Mr. Sarno was preceded in death by his wife, the late Patricia Sarno; and his parents, the late Joseph F. and Anne M. Sarno. Arrangements were handled by the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles.

JOSEPH M. MARTINKA Music Sales
A funeral Mass for Joseph M. Martinka, 68, of Des Plaines, was celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 2 at St. Cecelia Church in Mt. Prospect. Visitation was held at the church prior to the Mass. Arrangements were made by Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Mr. Martinka was born on Feb. 10, 1935 in Chicago and died on Thursday, July 31 at Northwest Community Hospital. He is survived by wife, Theresa nee Cruzen; son, Tony Martinka; brother, Rudolph (Diane) Martinka and sisters, Sister Antonetta Martinka and Marie (Morris) Gibbs. He was preceded in death by son, Steven Martinka.

CLARE KROLL Formerly of Des Plaines
A memorial Mass for Clare Kroll, 69, of Arkansas, formerly of Des Plaines, was celebrated Monday, Aug. 4, at St. Maryıs Catholic Church in Des Plaines. Burial was private. Mrs. Kroll had been an active volunteer at St. Maryıs parish while living in Des Plaines, and later, after retirement, at St. Peterıs parish in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She is survived by her children Kathy (Terry) Reilly, Fred (Lynne) Kroll, Greg Kroll, and Peggy Kroll; grandchildren Patrick and Katie Reilly and Brandi Kroll; sister Patricia (Ron) Ringenberg; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Mrs. Kroll was preceded in death by her husband Fred Kroll, her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

IRENE ZIEL Park Ridge Resident
A funeral Mass for Irene Ziel of Park Ridge, 82, was celebrated Aug. 1 in Our Lady of Ransom Church. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements were by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. A native of Chicago and a homemaker, she died July 29 in her home. She was active in the Lighthouse for the Blind, 1850 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL 60608, to which memorials are requested. Surviving are her husband, Chester; and daughters Christine (Leonard) Goduto and Kathleen (Charles) Szachowicz.

LAVERNE A. LUKA Homemaker
A funeral service for LaVerne A. Luka, 81, of Niles, was held on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was held on Monday, Aug. 4 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Burial took place at Maryhill Cemetery. Mrs. Luka was born in Chicago on March 23, 1922 and died at her daughter Carolıs home on Thursday, July 31. Mrs. Luka is survived by her daughters, Carol (Ronald) Grothendieck, Elaine Johnson and Dolores (Thomas) Kevane and son, Gary (Kathy) Luka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Luka, father, William Santowski and mother, Ann Sass.

BEN JANCHITRAPONVEJ Chemist
A funeral service for Ben Janchitraponvej, 58, of Niles, was held on Saturday, Aug. 2 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Visitation was held at the funeral home. Mr. Janchitraponvej was born in Thailand on Oct. 30, 1944 and died at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge on Tuesday, July 29. He was a chemist for a research and development company. He was involved with Helen Curtis Co. and Johnson Products Co. He is survived by wife, Lydia Janchitraponvej; son, Benjamine Richard Janchitraponvej; parents, sister and two brothers in Thailand and friends, Dr. and Mrs. Sirichai and Victor Sirichai. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 625 North Ct. Suite 280 Palatine, IL 60067-8162, the American Diabetes Association or the American Lung Association are appreciated.

PEGGY LYNN JOHNSON Of Niles
A funeral service for Peggy Lynn Johnson, 59, of Niles, was held Monday, Aug. 4, at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Interment was at Acacia Park Cemetery, 7800 W. Irving Park Rd., in Chicago. Ms. Johnson had worked as an activity therapist with Chicago Reed Mental Health Center. She was known as a supporter for foreign adoption, having adopted her daughter from the former Soviet Union. Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her father Russell. She is survived by her mother Gertrude Johnson; daughter Sara Anastasia Johnson; brother Terry (Jean) Johnson; niece Rebecca (Jack) Stanaszck and friend Kirk (Hilary) Steinhaus.

THERESA KACZMAREK Niles Resident
A funeral Mass for Theresa Kaczmarek, 88, of Niles, was celebrated July 29 in Our Lady of Ransom Church, Park Ridge. Burial followed in St. Adalbert Cemetery. A homemaker who was a native of Chciago, she was a member of the Queen Kinga Club of St. Wenceslaus, and the St. Wenceslaus Rosary Society. She died July 26 in her home. Arrangements were by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Surviving are her children, Elaine (Ron) Wojcik, Marilyn Payne, and James (Krys) Kaczmarek; grandchildren John and Robert Wojcik, Steven and Scott Payne, and Thomas and Laura Kaczmarek; a brother, Joseph (Tina) Metler; sister-in-law Emily Kaczmarek and many nieces and nephews.

TIMOTHY HEJZA Of Niles
A funeral service for Timothy Roger Hejza, 44, of Niles, was held July 31 at St. Juliana Church in Chicago. Interment was at Maryhill Cemetery and arrangements were made by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, Niles. Mr. Hejza was a construction worker. Survivors include his parents Roger and Joanne Hejza; daughter Alyssa; sister Donna de la Flor; brothers Russell and Scott Hejza; nieces Ashlea and Michele; nephews Ian and Teddy and many aunts and uncles.

PHYLLIS E. NOVAK Formerly of Mt. Prospect
A funeral Mass for Phyllis E. Novak, 86, of Fullerton California, formerly of Mt. Prospect, was held Tuesday, Aug. 5, at All Saints Cathedral Parish in Chicago. Burial was at All Saints Parish Cemetery, Chicago. Arrangements were made by Matz Funeral Home, Mt. Prospect. Mrs. Novak had been a homemaker and was a retired Chicago Police crossing guard. She was the wife of the late Florian ³Flory² Novak and Stephen Synoracki; mother of Susan (Al) Meyer, Mary (Charles) Scott and the late Karen (Warren) Sobczyk and grandmother of Stephen Meyer, Janet Ahonen, Allison Ersek, Jeffrey Sobczyk, Melissa Dias, Jennifer Kulczak, Stephen Scott, Douglas Scott and James Scott.

CARL J. ZIESEMER Superintendent of Glenora Farms Dairy
A memorial service for Carl J. Ziesemer, 81, of Des Plaines, was celebrated on Friday, Sept. 26 at Glenview Evangelical Church. He passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 24. Mr. Ziesemer was a resident of Des Plaines for 47 years. He was Superintendent of Glenora Farms Dairy in Evanston and later served the Evanston Health Department. He was a World War II veteran. Mr. Ziesemer is survived by his wife, Phyllis (nee Baldewein); children, Karlie (Albert) Davis, Lorie (Steve) Raupp, Kristie (George) Janicki, Leslie (Frank) Urban, Carl P., and Phillip (Sharon); and 16 grandchildren. CAROLYN L. NAVARRO 30 Resident of Des Plaines
Private funeral and interment services were held for Carolyn L. Navarro, 66 of Des Plaines. Visitation for Mrs. Navarro was also private. A 30 year resident of Des Plaines, Mrs. Navarro was born May 18, 1937 in Green Bush, MN and died Sept. 24 at Holy Family Medical Center. She worked for 40 years as a key punch operator for the National Association of Independent Insurance in Des Plaines. She is preceded in death by her father Peter Pulcinski. Mrs. Navarro is survived by her husband of 45 years, Luis S. Navarro, her mother Amelia Pulcinski, along with many nieces and nephews.

GENEVIEVE KOLAK of Des Plaines
Funeral services for Genevieve Kolak (nee Korczykowski), 77, of Des Plaines, were held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment followed in St. Adalbert Cemetery. Born in Chicago on Jan. 7, 1926, Mrs. Kolak passed away on Sept. 21 at the Glenbridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. She had been a homemaker. Mrs. Kolak is survived by her sisters-in-law, Lottie (the late Marion) Twayne and Helen Ustic; brother-in-law, Leonard J. (Dolores) Kolak; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kolak was preceded in death by her husband, the late William Kolak; her brother-in-law, the late Mitchell Kolak; brothers, the late Walter (Betty) Kania, and the late Joseph Kania; and her sister, the late Angeline (the late Frank) Kolak. Arrangements were made by Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines.

EUGENE F. KOPPENSTEINER Of Niles
Funeral services for Eugene F. Koppensteiner, 75, of Niles, were held on Sept. 23 at St. John Brebeuf Church. Interment was in St. Peter UCC Cemetery. Mr. Koppensteiner was born in Evanston on May 18, 1928, and passed away on Sunday, Sept. 21. He had worked as a design engineer for Bell & Howell. Mr. Koppensteiner is survived by his wife, Alice Koppensteiner; daughters, Carol (Joe) Beauvais, Mary (Danny) Colby, and Susan (Rick) Krueger; sons, Jeff, Jim, and Stephen Koppensteiner; brothers, Alfred (Violet) and James (Ann) Koppensteiner; and sisters, Gloria and Lola Koppensteiner. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Alfred and Alma Koppensteiner, and his sister, the late Lynn Koppensteiner. Arrangements were handled by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles.

BARTEV A. KELJIK former Village Commissioner for the MP Building Development & Redevelopment Commission
A funeral service for Bartev A. Keljik, Jr., 77, of Mt. Prospect, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. at Donnellan Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd., Skokie. Interment will be immediately following at Memorial Park Cemetery. Born on March 24, 1926 in Minneapolis, MN, Mr. Keljik passed away on Saturday, Sept. 27. He grew up in Minneapolis and served his country in World War II. Mr. Bartev attended Northwestern Military Academy in Wisconsin as a teen. He was a 48 year member of the Knights of Vartan Chicago Chapter and was also a member of the Arrow Fleet at Wilmette Harbor for many years. From 1955 to 1982 he was the owner of Keljikıs Carpets in Mt. Prospect. He also served over 25 years as a Village Commissioner for the Mt. Prospect Building Development & Redevelopment Commission. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bartev A., Sr., and Heranoush; his brothers, Garo (Alice) Kashian and Puzant Kashian. Mr. Keljik is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice (nee Seremjian); children, Patricia, Robert (Denise), Susan (John) Ryan, and David; his grandchildren, John Ryan, Andrew, Melissa Ryan, and Jennifer; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knights of Vartan Armenian School Project, 606 S. Edward St., Mt. Prospect, 60056.
