Billye Blaine Flint Bates of Hixson, a native of Louisville, Ky., died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at her home. She was 55.
A memorial service will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. William Owens officiating.
Visitation will be Monday from 10-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Callie Battle died Friday, May 12, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 82.

John Bentz
John David Bentz died Friday, May 12, 2000. He was 72.
Mr. Bentz was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church, Worley Lodge 601, F&AM, and Scottish Rite. He was the owner of Bentz and Associates.
Survivors include his wife, Viola M. Bentz; mother, Lolita Bentz, Houston, Miss.; stepson, R. Wayne Billingsley, Chattanooga; stepdaughter, Rita Gail Webber, Knoxville; sister, Barbara Dendy, California; and four stepgrandchildren.
A private graveside service will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Donna Bradford of East Ridge died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 61.
Mrs. Bradford was a 14-year employee of Honors Golf Course. She was a Protestant.
Survivors include a son, Philip Ashmore, Ringgold, Ga.; daughter, Valerie Coates, Chattanooga; mother, Effie L. Anderson, East Ridge; sister, Robin Hickman, Ringgold; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with the Rev. Ed Craft officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frances Godsey of Ooltewah died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at her home. She was 55.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Marc Myers and the Rev. James Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
Visitation will be all day today and Monday at the funeral home.
Covie Hendricks
Covie Burion Hendricks of Signal Mountain died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 63.
Mr. Hendricks was a lifelong resident of the Signal Mountain and Chattanooga area. He was retired from Combustion Engineering with 30 years of service. Mr. Hendricks was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and Volunteer Sunday School Class. He was an Air Force veteran and had been active in Signal Mountain Dixie Youth baseball for 13 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hendricks; three daughters, Sharon Meeks and Sheila Scott, both of Signal Mountain, and Kim Rodgers, Hixson; four brothers, Ronny, E.J., Alman and Dale Hendricks; three sisters, Ernestine Stallings, Gail McBryar and Bobby Sewell; and five grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
Bobbie Holloway
Barbara Ann "Bobbie" White Holloway died Thursday, May 11, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 60.
Mrs. Holloway was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Holloway.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl and Charise Holloway, both of Chattanooga; son, Master Sgt. Jeffery Holloway, Okinawa, Japan; four sisters, Hattie Green and Prince Ella Pointer, both of Chattanooga, Clara Brandon, Chicago, and Marva O'Quinn, Lubbock, Texas; brother, Leon White, Chattanooga; and nine grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with pastor Billy Church officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after noon at the funeral home.

William Robert Neal of Soddy-Daisy died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 67.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise Moore, Tunnel Hill, Ga., and Sue Couch, Battle Creek, Mich.; son, Robert Kerber Neal, Battle Creek; sister, Jackie Shipley, Soddy-Daisy; brother, Chuck Neal, Soddy-Daisy; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

George Neely Sr.
George E. Neely Sr. died Friday, May 12, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 84.
Mr. Neely was a native of Bartow County, Ga., and had lived most of his life in the Chattanooga area. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Northside Dry Cleaning Co. Mr. Neely was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Bell Beely; three sons, George E. Neely Jr., and William "Bill" Neely, both of Chattanooga, Richard D. Neely, Dalton, Ga.; sister, Audrey Travis, Chattanooga; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Fred Steelman officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sherrill E. Penney of Soddy-Daisy, died Friday, May 12, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 68.
Mr. Penney was retired from Beasley Distributors and was the owner of Penney's Place Lounge in Soddy-Daisy. He was a nationally known breeder of game cocks.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherlyan Dent, Soddy-Daisy, Rhonda Floyd, Red Bank, and Jennifer Woodward, Memphis; two sons, Terry Penney and Dustin Penney, both of Soddy-Daisy; three sisters, Frances Henry, Helen Johnson and Sue Hatfield, all of Soddy-Daisy; three brothers, Teddy, Donald and Owen Penney, all of Soddy-Daisy; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Penney and the Rev. Warren Beavers officiating. Burial will be in Wilcoxen Cemetery.
