Myra Conner
Myra Trimble Conner of Signal Mountain died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at her home. She was 74.
A graveside service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with minister Greg Nancy officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Maude Cox
Maude Clendenen Cox of Harrison died Friday, May 5, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 85.
The funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert C. Stitts and Dr. Wallace McGill officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Orange Grove Center, 615 Derby St., Chattanooga, TN 37404.

Ayme Gentry
Ayme Gentry, of Rockford, Ill., died Saturday, April 29, 2000, in Madison, Wisc. She was 35.
Ms. Gentry was a 23-year resident of Hixson and a Chattanooga State Technical Community College graduate. She was a robotics engineer at Chrysler Corp., and attended the Church of God.
Survivors include his mother, Bernice Gentry, Ooltewah; and three brothers, Rick Gentry, New Mexico, Nathan and David Gentry, both of Atlanta.
A memorial service was Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Ricky Johnson
Ricky Arney Johnson died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at his home. He was 42.
Mr. Johnson was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his mother, Nancy L. Johnson; father, Hubert D. Johnson; grandmother, Priscilla Slate; two brothers, Hubert D. Johnson Jr.; Michael K. Johnson; two sisters, Beverly A. Johnson and Cynthia D. Johnson, all of Chattanooga.
The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

William Jones
William Vane Jones of Apison, Tenn., died Friday, May 5, 2000, at his home. He was 85.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Apison Saddle Club and was preceded in death by his wife, Sara B. Jones.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen J. Ellis and Suzanne J. Atchley, both of Chattanooga.
A graveside service will be today at 3 p.m. in Plowman Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Apison Baptist Church or Apison United Methodist Church.

Wilma Lee
Wilma Crawley Lee of Sale Creek died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in South Hill, Va. She was 92.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with minister Eugene Crawley and minister Jim Clements officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 546, South Hill, VA 23970.

Gladys Lewis
Gladys Lewis died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, in a local life care facility. She was 83.
Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

James Marshall
James R. "Tooter" Marshall died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 83.
Mr. Marshall was a 45-year Hamilton County School Bus Driver and a member of Burk's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Marshall, Hixson; two daughters, Catherine Neely, and Carol Beddingfield, both of Hixson; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy, with the Rev. Charles Burnett and the Rev. Harold Ray officiating. Burial will be in Scheitman Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Burk's United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Marvin Sawyer
Marvin Laurance Sawyer of Ooltewah died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at his home. He was 56.
Mr. Sawyer, a native of Massachusetts, had been a resident of Hamilton County for 50 years. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and was retired from McKee Baking Co.
He was preceded in death by his father, Laurance Sawyer.
Survivors include a son, Shane Edmund Sawyer, East Ridge; mother, Adelaide Sawyer, Ringgold, Ga.; three brothers, Darwin Sawyer, McDonald, Tenn., Thomas Sawyer, Ringgold, Ga., and Lyle Sawyer, Georgetown, Tenn.; two sisters, Doris Moore, Dade City, Fla., and Elaine Whittemore, Ellijay, Ga.
A graveside service will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with elder E.W. Dempsey officiating.
A memorial service will be May 13 at 2:30 p.m. at 313 Bluebird Road, Ringgold.
There will be no visitation.
Heritage Funeral Home on Battlefield Parkway is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Sawyer's Unexpected Wildlife Refuge, P.O. Box 765, Newfield, NJ 08344.

Leon Simmons
Leon Simmons died Friday, May 5, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 63.
Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Dorothy Souders
Dorothy Sue Souders of East Ridge, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 84.
Mrs. Souders was a native of Chattanooga and a former employee of Panni-Presto Cleaners. She was a member of East Ridge United Methodist Church and Friendship Sunday School Class. Mrs. Souders was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Souders.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Saffles, East Ridge; son, David Souder, East Ridge; sister Sudie Petty; brother, James Petty, Chattanooga; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Tom Strong
Tom Henry Strong died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at his home. He was 64.
Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Robert Voigt
Robert Louis Voigt died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at his home. He was 81.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Rumsey Voigt; two sons, R. Douglas Voigt, Denver, and Russell Eric Voigt, Winter Springs, Fla.; one daughter, Virginia Lee Rawley, Columbia, Md.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

William West
William E. West died Friday, April 28, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 43.
Burial will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. in Ruth Cofer Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the Trammell Chapel of Hardwick & Sons Funeral Home.

Arthel Whitehead
Arthel Louis Whitehead of Signal Mountain, died Friday, May 5, 2000, in a local health care facility. He was 92.
Mr. Whitehead was a native of the Chattanooga area and retired from James Wilson Co. with more than 20 years of service. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II serving in the European Theater. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Whitehead and a daughter, Louise Gayton.
Survivors include nine grandchildren, Lavila Whitehead, Candis Winters, Dan Cooper III, Leila Cooper, all of Chattanooga, Dean Gayton, Kristy Gayton and Allan Gayton, all of Chickamauga, Ga., Jess Bramblett and Austin Bramblett, both of Dalton.
The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. C.F. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Leslie Williams
Leslie Williams died Saturday, April 29, 2000.
Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Maribelle Woods
Maribelle Woods died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 80.
A graveside service will be today at 3 p.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery with the Rev. David M. Harr officiating.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at Wann Funeral Home.
