Graveside services for Paul Horton, 81, of Kilgore will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Williams Cemetery in Smith County. The Rev. Jason Aultman will officiate.
Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
Mr. Horton died Sunday in Kilgore.
He was born Nov. 8, 1920, in Arp. He managed the Overton theater before serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He established Horton’s Drive-in in Overton and Kilgore after his service.
He was a Baptist and a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his brother, O.Z. Horton and sister, Blanche Crow.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-laws, Charlotte and Frank Green of Springtown and Ester and Dick Turner of Jacksonville; son and daughter-in-law, James Paul and Dianne Horton of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Martha Horton of Kilgore; sister-in-law, Novie Horton of Conroe; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 and 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Williams Cemetery Association.

Judy Cox Gardiner
Services for Judy Cox Gardiner, 51, of Bullard will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God in Bullard.
The Revs. C.L. Taylor and A.L. Hewitt will officiate.
Burial will be at Bullard Cemetery under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard.
Mrs. Gardiner died Saturday in Tyler.
She was born Sept. 4, 1950, in Smith County. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Bullard. She was prayer counselor and music minister for Shaumbach Revivals.
Survivors include her sons, Travis Gardiner of Houston and Christopher Gardiner of Kansas City, Kan.; daughter, Rhonda Nell Gardiner of Waxahachie; brothers, Alvin Lee Cox of Tampa and Michael Lynn Cox of Bullard; sister, Maggie Shiflet of Bullard; and three grand children.
Pallbearers will be Chris Gardiner, Travis Gardiner, Thomas Shiflet, Leonard Sinclair, Justin Mays and Matt Gregory.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jimmy Plummer Jr.
Services for Jimmy Plummer Jr., 77, of Flint, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Memorial Chapel at Boren Conner Funeral Home.
Dr. Mickey Williams will officiate.
Mr. Plummer died Saturday in Tyler.
He was born Nov. 7, 1925, in Galveston.
He lived in the Smith County area for the past 10 years. He was a member of Lakewood Church.
Mr. Plummer was a retired production foreman with the Shreveport Times Journal and was formerly employed by the Galveston Daily News.
In World War II, Mr. Plummer was in the Marines 1st Division, having received the Purple Heart after being wounded on Okinawa.
Survivors include his wife, June Plummer, of Bullard; sons, Steve Plummer of Jupiter, Fla., Rick Plummer of Arlington, Danny Spivey of Gladewater, Danny M. Plummer of Gladewater, and David A. Plummer of Tyler; daughter, Linda Plummer of Bullard; brother, Doug Plummer of Austin; sisters, Joyce Hugman of Gladewater and Norma Hunt of Longview; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Trey Hugman, Jim Hugman, Chris Plummer, Rick Plummer, Danny Pummer and John Hunter.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 today at the funeral home.

Services for Anita Womack, 84, of Troup will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup, with the Revs. James Cheatham and Gaylon Taylor officiating.
Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery near Troup.
Mrs. Womack died Saturday in Tyler.
She was born Sept. 8, 1917, in New Summerfield to the late N.A.F. and Lillian Jeffcoat Johnson. She married Walter Lee Womack on Sept. 8, 1934, in New Summerfield and moved to Troup where she was a resident for 67 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Troup.
She is preceded in death by grandchildren, Stephen Womack, Dee Ann Guthrie and Sheldon Eaton; four brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Lee Womack of Troup; sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin Dwayne and Eldonna Womack of Troup and Wendel and Carla Womack of Troup; daughters and sons-in-law, Claudine and Bill Stoker of Whitehouse and Diane and Steve Eaton of Troup; sisters, Bonnis Heath of Jacksonville and Yvonne Waldrop of Mineola; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Andy Aynesworth, Tony Dana, Tommy Womack, Scott Womack, Chris Womack, Kelly Womack, Steve Eaton and James Cochran.

Mrs. Roberts died Sunday at ETMC in Jacksonville.
She was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Rusk. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Maydelle.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, J.B. Roberts of Rusk; sons and daughters-in-laws, Jessie and Gloria Traylor of Reklaw, Emery Traylor of Louisiana, James and Minnie Roberts of Rusk and George and Carolyn Roberts of Jacksonville; daughters, Mary and Hubert Pruett of Athens, Jimmy and Danny Crouch of Maydelle, Diane Hesterley of Jacksonville, and Debra and Kelton Hood of Jacksonville; brother, W.F. Sides; sisters, Mildred Munsinger and Faye Wesson; 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Jeremy Dwayne Emmons
Services for Jeremy Dwayne Emmons, 19, of Bullard, were held at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Bullard with the Rev. Kenneth Cargill and the Rev. Zach Snow officiating.
Burial will be held at Loftin Cemetery in Teasleville.
Mr. Emmons died Saturday in Teasleville.
He was born May 24, 1983, in Brenham.
He was a cabinet installer and a member of Southern Baptist Church in Bullard.
Mr. Emmons played all sports and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Bullard High School, where he was a graduate in 2001.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Hurst and Sidney Emmons.
Survivors include his parents, Tim and Lisa Emmons of Chandler and Kathy Emmons of Bullard; grandparents, Wanda Hurst of Bullard and Laverne Emmons of Tyler; uncles, Randy Hurst of Bullard, Ronnie Hurst of Monroe, La., and Ricky Emmons of Tyler; aunts, Debbie Jack of Tyler and Donna Eckert of Tyler, and numerous friends, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Thornton in 1997; brothers, Wilson, Buster and Jack Scarborough; and sister, Nan Gibbs.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Jack Kern of Jacksonville; son, Dale Thornton of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law, Billie and Ted Fleming of Tyler; sisters-in-law, Jean Scarborough of Mineola and Francis Scarborough of Houston; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kowalski died Tuesday at a Jacksonville hospital.
He was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Bremond.
He had worked for W.K.M. in Houston and for the Texas Department of Transportation in Houston before retiring to Jacksonville.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was also an active member of the Knight of Columbus.
Mr. Kowalski was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eva Kowalski, brother, William Kowalski; and sisters, Virgie Patryla and Leona Cichirski.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Louise Kowalski of Baytown; sons, Louis Kowalski Jr. of Jack-sonville and Darryl Kowalski of Baytown; daughters, Linda Longoria of Spring, Karen Smith of Baytown and Dorothy Savoy of Granbury; brother, Johnny Kowalski of Houston; sisters, Christine Novak and Rosalie Leone, both of Houston; 11 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Flo Powell.

Mrs. Boyd died Sunday in Tyler. She was born Sept. 26, 1951, in Jacksonville. She was a graduate of Fred Douglass High School and Mansfield Business School of Dallas. She was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church and was an employee of Baxter Pharmaceutical and R.L. Pope Co. for several years.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her father, Rube Belcher and her grandson, Cameron Boyd. Survivors include her mother, Charlene Belcher of Jacksonville; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Veronica Boyd of Center; daughters, Kolanda Johnson of Tyler, Tonya Russeau of Lindale and Helenia Reed of Jacksonville; seven brothers; 15 sisters; and nine grandchildren.

She was a member of Benson Memorial C.M.E. Church.
Mrs. Alexander was an LVN at Nan Travis and Newborn hospitals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ordia, and son Oliver Wayne.
Survivors include sons, Roy G. Alexander of Denver, Colo., and Mitchell O. Alexander of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Lessie J. Thompson of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Jacquelyn A. Alexander of St. Louis, Mo., Belinda Griffin of Jacksonville, and Gail Alexander Reed of Dallas; sister, Maril V. Gates of Dallas; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

He served in the Marines during World War II, participating in the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Stanton; sons, Don Stanton of Jacksonville, Maurice Stanton of Addison and David Olen Stanton of Indianapolis, Ind.; brothers, C.L. Stanton of Borger, Ray Stanton of Borger and Leo Stanton of Amarillo; sisters, Willie Edmonds of Grand Prairie and Bobbie Sue Leatherman of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Hollis Waldrup, Mark MacAfee, Todd MacAfee and Robert Thomas.

Mr. Hemby died Thursday. He was born Feb. 20, 1911, in Cherokee County to the late Pete and Rachel Berry Hemby.
He was a lifetime resident of the Troup area. He was a farmer and rancher. He and his grandson, Wayne Sanders, owned and operated H&S Cattle Company. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Hemby married Edna Eidson, Oct. 24, 1930, and she preceded him in death Dec. 12, 1993. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Rodger Dowdy, in 1999.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie Sanders of Troup; Tutt and Alton Dowdy of Whitehouse, Rachael and Jack Smylie of Nederland and Carolyn and Larry Higgins of Troup; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Sanders died May 3 at a Jacksonville hospital. He was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Jacksonville.
He attended Fred Douglass High School in Jacksonville, and was a longtime resident of both Jacksonville and Tyler.
He was affiliated with Liberty Baptist Church of Tyler, Corinth Baptist Church, Greater Hopewell Baptist Church, New Life Community Missionary Baptist Church and New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
He was a deacon and trustee and chairman of the Finance Committee at New Life Missionary Baptist Church; deacon at New Jerusalem Baptist Church; member of Local 746L at Kelly Springfield Tire Company; and served in the U.S. Navy, December 1949 through February 1956.
He is survived by his wife, Nora Sanders of Ben Wheeler; sons, Sandra Baker and Petina Brewster, both of Tyler and Denise Robertson of De Soto; sister, Geraldine Sanders of Tyler; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be employees of Kelly Springfield Tire Company No. 430.
Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon D. Jones, Brandon Tatum, Brain Baker, Brenton Tatum, Bobby Smith, Robert Clark and deacons of New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
