Leona B. Wintz, 82, of Huntington went home to be with Jesus Thursday, October 28,1999. She was born on March 12, 1917, in Cabell County. She is the daughter of the late Ota B. Wintz and widow of Garland Wintz. $he was also preceded in death by one son, Richard “Marvin” Wintz. Surviving are one son and his companion, Donald Ray Wintz and Ginger Gibson, of Huntington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Larry and Linda Justice and James and Dottie Workman, all of Huntington; four granddaughters, Patty Justice, Crystal Gibson, Jenny and Cheyenne Wintz; one grandson David Elder, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October 31, 1999, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Gordon Simpson with special music by Bobbie Reynolds. Burial in Herrenkohl Cemetery, Lesage, WV. Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Emma Lucille Keyser Wadell
Emma Lucille Keyser Wadell, 79, of Salt Rock, passed away October 25,1999, in St. Mary’s Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, October 27, 1999. at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Pastor Bill Cassady. Burial in Enon Cemetery. She was born April 21, 1920, in Boone County, a daughter of the late W.S. and Victoria Brown Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Danny) Keyser; one son, Harry (Hack) Keyser, and one grandson, Joseph Keyser. Survivors include her husband Maurice (Marty) Wadell; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim Sluss; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Marsha Keyser; a daughter-in-law, Rita Keyser; one sister and brother-in-law, Esta and Denna Cooke; three sisters-in-law, Edith Smith, Bertha Keyser and June Bremmer; grandchildren, Sherri Woods, Terri Frye, Christi Perry, Danny Keyser, Lisa Walker, Jim Sluss, Jr., Nancy Shrewsbury; great-grandchildren, Micah, Brittany, Andrew, Cody, Christopher, Sean Jacob, Bryce, Alex, Josiah, Claire, Grace and Tyler; stepdaughters, Pam Chandler and Joann Rand; special niece, Shirley Stiltner, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Doris E. Johnson Welch
Doris E. Johnson Welch, 76, of Huntington, passed away October 24, 1999, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Graveside services were conducted Wednesday, October 27, 1999, at Rome Cemetery, Rome, Ohio, by Pastor David Erenrich. She was born May 24, 1923, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Manna and Ethel Staley Johnson. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #807, Huntington for fifty-three years, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. #1064, Huntington. She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Welch, seven brothers and one sister. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and David Walls of Kenova; four sons and daughters-in-law, James T. Welch, Jr. and Joe E. and Bonnie Welch, all of Hurricane, Terry and Kathy Welch and Jack and Susan Welch, all of Huntington; six grandchildren, Jeff Welch, Stacey Welch, Carol Bailey, Jennifer and Megan Welch and Robyn Welch; two great-grandsons, Matthew Bailey and Nathan Welch Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret E. White
Margaret E. White, 77, of Huntington, passed away Saturday, November 6, 1999, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 9, 1999, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Pastor David Cartwright and Rev. Manford Cass Hutchinson. Burial in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. She was born July 31, 1922, in Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Ellis C. and Frances Miranda McComas. She was a retired supervisor with C&P Telephone. She was a lifelong member of Salt Rock United Methodist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #89, Guyandotte. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Doris Jean McComas. She is survived by her husband, Arlie “Lard” White; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Shivel and Christine Chapman, both of Huntington; one brother, David E. McComas of California; several nieces and nephews; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.

Emogene “Jean” Dale Wooten
Emogene “Jean” Dale Wooten, age 74, of Culloden, died Monday, October 11, 1999, in Teays Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of the area, former employee of Turnbull Buick, and a member of Union Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Maxie Wooten; three sons, Larry Wooten of Ona, W.Va, Jackie Wooten of Barboursville, and Dan Wooten of Huntington; one sister, Bertha Buckner of Milton, W.Va.; two brothers, Forrest Villars of Barboursville, W.Va., and Berk Villars of Culloden; five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside service were held Thursday, October 14, 1999 at Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane, W.Va. Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane, was in charge of arrangements.

Rosa Lee Wiggins
Rosa Lee Wiggins, 70, of Glenwood, widow of Scott J. Wiggins, died Thursday, September 30, 1999, in St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a homemaker. Survivors include one son, Garry Lykins of Fraziers Bottom. Graveside services were held Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Evergreen Cemetery, Fraziers Bottom. Heck Funeral Home, Milton, was in charge of arrangements.

Alice Estep Watts
Alice Estep Watts, 74, of Barboursville, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 11, 1999 at St. Mary’s Hospital She was born April 18, 1925 in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Vance and Virgie Lawson Estep. She was a member of the Gethsemane United Baptist Church. She was preceded m death by four brothers George, Bill, Arbie and Ronnie Estep. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, General Watts; a daughter and son-in-law, Hida and David King of Barboursville; two sons and daughters-in law Ewell Darrell and Barbara Watts of Culloden, and Harold and Carmen Watts of Huntington; four grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, Kelly Ann, and Shawn Watts; five sisters Ida Adkins of Huntington, Ceda Adkins of Barboursville , Mary Jane Belton of Ona, Lillie Adkins of Salt Rock and Betty Jean McComas of Barboursville. Funeral services were conducted at Tuesday, September 14,1999 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Sherwood Thompson. Burial in Forest Memorial Park.

Hibert “Jiggs” Wallace
Hibert “Jiggs” Wallace, 75, of Glenwood, died Saturday September 11, 1999, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was a retired employee with Houdaille-Hershey Industries. Survivors include six sisters, Aline Clagg of Huntington, Alberta Watts of Lesage, and Winnie Trent, Gladys Wallace, Belva Oldaker and Ruth Floyd, all of Glenwood. Funeral service will be held at a later date. Heck Funeral Home, Milton, was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of one’s choice.

Roger Glen Walker
Roger Glen Walker, 58, Of Fairborn, Ohio, died Sept. 7, 1999 in Springfield, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999 at Henson Mortuary, with the Rev. Carl Merritt officiating. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. There will also be a memorial service at a later date in Fairborn, Ohio. Mr. Walker was born April 5, 1941 in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of Lena Davis Walker of Ona, W.Va. and the late James W. Walker. He was a former employee of Wright Patterson Air Force Base and was a charter member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Fairborn, Ohio. In addition to his mother, survivors include two sons, Roger Glen Walker, Jr. of Fairborn, Ohio and Ryan Glen Walker of Middleton, Pa.; three grandchildren, Megan, Shawn and Heather, all of Fairborn; three sisters Carolyn Merritt of Lesage, W.Va., Linda Tipple of Marysville, Ohio and Denise Johnson of Ona, WV; and two brothers James Walker of Chandler, Ariz. and John Walker of Ona, W.Va.

Bonnie Marie Wallace
Mrs. Bonnie Marie Wallace, 39, of Kings Mountain, NC, formerly of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 1999, in Kings Mountain. Bonnie was born June 8, 1960, at Huntington. She was a daughter of Bobbie Lou Whitney Bolen Horton of Chesapeake, OH, and the late Donald Lee Bolen. Bonnie was an employee of the Kings Mountain Travel Center. Survivors in addition to her mother are her husband, Larry T. Wallace; one son, Michael Wallace of Kings Mountain; one stepdaughter, Mendy Lee Thaxton of Charleston; one stepson, Jeremy Wallace with the U.S. Navy; one grandson, William Tyler Wallace; her stepfather, John Horton of Chesapeake, OH; four sisters, Donna Morgensen of Hopewell, IL, Dana Pope of Ashland, KY, Bobbie Lynn Davenport of Tennessee and Dorothy May Bolen of Chesapeake, OH; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Whitney of Huntington; her mother-in-law, Sylvia Carrier Wallace of Milton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jo Ann Bowyer Woodard
Jo Ann Bowyer Woodard, 55, of Milton, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 30, 1999, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Pastor Bobby Ray. Burial in Milton Cemetery. She was born May 12,1944, in Brown City, MI, a daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia Perry Bowyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis Earl Woodard; one daughter, Karen Renee Woodard; one sister, Sandra Lee Meadows; and one brother, Richard Dale Bowyer. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna Gail and Fred Boring of Spring Hill, TN, Tammy Jo and Thomas Jones of North Branch MI, and Jennifer Lyn Woodard of Lapeer, MI; one son, James Douglas Woodard of Lapeer, MI; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Charles Chapman of Barboursville; one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Joyce Bowyer of Barboursville; and eight grandchildren.

Marvene Virginia Wysong
Marvene Virginia Wysong, 96, of Barboursville died Monday, July 26, 1999 in Heartland of Riverview, South Point. Funeral service were conducted Thursday, July 29, 1999, at Henson Mortuary, Pea Ridge, Rev. Craig Coster officiated. Burial in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. She was born Sept. 11, 1902, in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late M.D. and Betty DerReemer Goode. She was a retired teacher with Lincoln, Cabell and Kanawha counties and co-owner with her husband of Wysong Pharmacy, Barboursville. She was a member of Barboursville Baptist Church and Barboursville Woman’s Club Emeritus. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dana C. Wysong. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Mary Wysong of Ansted, W.Va.; one daughter, Betty Jane Cyrus of Ona; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Geneva Williamson
Mrs. Geneva Williamson, 78, of Culloden, WV, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 30, 1999 in Putnam General Hospital, Hurricane, WV. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 3 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with the Rev. Jessie Williamson officiating. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Geneva was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 8, 1920. She was a daughter of the late Simon Peter and Oda Watts Williamson. Geneva also was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Fisher Williamson; one son and daughter-in-law, James C. “Sock” and Alice Williamson; and one brother, Everett Williamson. She was a member of Kenova Church of Christ, Kenova, WV. Geneva is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Don Keaton of Milton; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Earl “Tony” and Judy Williamson of Jessup, GA , David and Dwight Williamson, both of Milton; 13 grandchildren, Duane, Jody, Scott, Shane and Anthony Williamson, Tina Martin, Shawn Wheeler, Jamie Meadows, Kim Hatfield, James Hatfield Jr., Tracy Adams, Chrystal Wilkinson and Natalie Williamson; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Thena Dial of Kansas and Juanita Watts of North Carolina.

Virgil Lee Woodall
Virgil Lee Woodall, 71, of Huntington, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 3, 1999, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by the Rev. Harlan Esque. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born July 5, 1927, in Hamlin, WV, a son of the late Joshua Anderson and Violet Mae Slone Woodall. He was retired from International Nickel and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of VFW Post No. 9738, Guyandotte. He was preceded in death, by one brother, Lester Woodall. He is survived by one daughter, Brenda Moss of Ona; three sons, Richard Woodall of Barboursville, Steven Woodall of Huntington and David McCarty of Ona; two sisters, Doris Woodall of Huntington and Jo Ann Speed of California; and five grandchildren.

Fern Marie Hilbert Wilson
Mrs. Fern Marie Hilbert Wilson, 81, of Pumpkintown, S.C. died Thursday, June 17, 1999, in Greenville, SC. A memorial service was held Sunday, June 20, at her home. Fern was formerly of Huntington, WV; Marion, S.C. and Chino Valley, AZ. She was a homemaker, enjoyed working with arts and crafts, was a member of the Church of Christ, and a former employee of Dixie Anna Mills in Dillon, SC. She was born January 2, 1918, in Hamlin, WV, a daughter of the late William Edward Hilbert and Lavena Waugh Hilbert Moreland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Wilson; a son, Bern Wilson; a granddaughter, Kimberly Lewis; three sisters, Lois Glenn, Sara Rose Hatfield and Winnith Holley; and a baby brother, Ohmer Welton Hilbert. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Tommy Moody of Pumpkintown; three sisters, Alpha Keckler of Barboursville, Buford McGinnis of Branchland and Janice Clay of Bogalusa, LA and several nieces and nephews. Her ashes will be interred in the Waugh Cemetery at Ona, WV.

Brian Woodall
Brian Woodall, 32, of Milton, W.Va., passed away Thursday, July 15, 1999 at his home. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 18 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Michael Lewis officiating. Burial in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Brian was born at Huntington, W.Va., on Sept. 26,1966. He was the son of Toni Lynn Ross Canterbury of Milton and Gary R. Woodall of Proctorville, Ohio. Brian was a member of Union Baptist Church, Milton, a former employee of Affordable Housing and a 1985 graduate of Milton High School. Survivors in addition to his parents are: his stepfather, Thomas L. Canterbury of Milton; his stepmother, Kay Woodall of Proctorville, Ohio; one daughter, Kassie Woodall; one son, T.J. Woodall; two stepsons, Chris and Joshua Cloud, all of Statesville, N.C.; two sisters, Josie Moore of Charleston and Tammy Lunsford of Milton; a half sister, Nicci Woodall of South Carolina, a half brother, Nathan Woodall of Proctorville, Ohio; a step-sister, Tracy Canterbury of Charleston; the paternal grandparents, Ronald and Ellen ‘Pat’ Coon of Milton and the paternal grandmother, Geraldine Armstrong of Detroit, Mich. Heck Funeral Home, Milton, was in charge of arrangements.

DOLORES DAWN HODGE WILSON
Mrs. Dolores Dawn Hodge Wilson, 80, of Ona, WV., died Saturday, April 17, 1999 in St. Mary's hospital. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Beard Mortuary by Rev. Bob Stanley and Rev. Gerald Harshbarger. Burial in Oaklawn Memorial Park. She was born June 13, 1918 in Huntington, WV., daughter of the late Okey E. Hodge and Enid J. Collins Hodge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon P. Wilson in 1997. Also by one sister, Kathleen Hodge and one brother, Aubrey Hodge. She was retired from the Cabell County Board of Education, having served as an English teacher and Reading Specialist at Milton Junior High School from 1961 until her retirement in 1983. In years since, she was an active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, and the Dolores Circle which was named in in her honor. She was a member of the Bloomin' Hill Bridge Group, and she supported her husband in his nature projects; she especially loved their trips to Dolly Sods, where they were engaged in a bird banding project. She was devoted to her family, her friends, her students, her fellow teachers and to all those who tried to make her difficult journey a little easier. All of us who are members of these groups will miss her. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Jean Wilson Castle and her husband, Toni of Huntington, WV: two sons, James Paul Wilson and his wife, Mary Lou of Ravenswood, WV and Robert Allan Wilson of Ona, WV. Four granddaughters, Margaret Ann Castle, Mary Beth Svingos. and her husband Nicholas, Rebecca Kathleen, Wilson and Catherine Lynn Wilson. One great grandson, Constantine Nicholas Svingos and a great granddaughter, Eleni Nicholas Svingos. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Bethesda United Methodist Church.

Forest Dan Weatherholt
Forest Dan Weatherholt, 47, of Milton, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, June 4 at Milton Funeral Home with the Rev. Pete Davidson officiating. Burial in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV. He was born September 30, 1951, in Huntington, the son of the late Forest Hedrick Weatherholt and Gladys Midkiff Weatherholt of Barboursville. He was a former employee at ACF Industries. He was also preceded in death by one brother, David Weatherholt. Survivors include his wife, Lois Weatherholt of Milton; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Michelle Weatherholt of Milton; one son, Bruce Weatherholt; one sister and brother-in-law, Lola Mae and Loren Stratton of Barboursville and several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

EVELYN DOWDY "GRANDMA" WROTEN
Evelyn Dowdy "Grandma" Wroten, 87, of Barboursville, WV, died Monday, March 29, 1999 at her residence. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 1, 1999 at Steele Memorial United Methodist Church, by Rev. Ed Grant and Rev. Ralph Sager. Burial in Oaklawn Memorial Park. She was born July 21, 1911 in Cabell County, a daughter of the late John Brill and Alice Collins Dowdy. She was retired employee of Barboursville State Hospital. She was a member of Steele Memorial United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Wroten, one sister, Ella Frances Cazad, and one brother, Roy Dowdy. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy E. Haynes of Fairfield, Ohio, Wanda and Dean Hess of Columbus, Ohio, Sharon Nicholas of Huntington, and Judy and Bob Bledsoe of Barboursville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Marge Wroten of Smithfield, Ohio, and Roger Wroten of Barboursville; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Mary E. "Dolly" Warf
Mrs Mary E. "Dolly" Warf, 77, of Barboursville, died Saturday in St. May's Hospital. Funeral Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Henson Mortuary, with Pastors Charles Gibson and Mark Finley officiating. Burial in Baylous Cemetery. She was born Sept. 11, 1921, in Lawrence County, Ohio, the daughter of John and Ruth Phillips Thacker. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Warf, brother John Robert Thacker and a grandson, Lewis Glen Hale II. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Lewis Hale of Barboursville, Janice and Gary Ross of Barboursville and Judy and Roger Wray of Kenova; sister-in-law, Ida Adkins of Milton and brother and sister-in-law Howard Jack and Joann Thacker of Huntington; grandchildren Glenna Wetherholt, Kelly Jobe, Shane Ross, Shawn Ross, Treacy Marcum, Sarah Wray, Neal Wray and Andrew Wray and 12 great grandchildren. DOROTHY L. WILLIAMS
Dorothy L. Williams, 83, of Huntington, WV, died April 13, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital. Graveside services were conducted Friday, April 16, 1999, in White Chapel Memorial Gardens by the Rev. James Bolen. She was born November 21, 1915, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Elmer Gallier and Julia Ann Miller Parsons. She was a member of Milton Free Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Hatcher Williams. She is survived by three sisters, Betty Irwin of Milton, and Stella Ashworth and Hattie Pinson, both of Huntington; one brother and sister-in-law, K. A. "Pete" and Mae Parsons of Huntington; special friends, George and Darlene Willoughby; and several nieces and nephews. Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville was in charge of arrangements.

Dale C. Yoho
Dale C. Yoho, 71, of Ona, WV, loving husband, father and good friend to all, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 30, 1999 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington, WV. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 2 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Paul R. Meadows and Rev. Tracey Mills officiating. Burial in the Blue Sulphur Cemetery, Ona. Dale was born in Huntington on March 30,1928. He was a son of the late Clyde and Margaret Estelle Stevens Yoho, Sr. Dale was also preceded in death by a sister, Opal Cazad and by a brother, James E Yoho. He was retired from Columbia Gas and owner of Dale’s Appliance Sales and Service, Ona. He was a member of the Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church, Ona and a trustee for the Guyandotte Baptist Association. Dale was a member of Riviera Golf Club. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann Barbour Yoho; three daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and George Benny Shy and Jane and David Terry, all of Ona and Jeannie and Joseph Megahan of Apple Grove; five grandchildren, James Michael Shy, Stephan Shy, Cris Terry, Clint Terry and Brian Downey, one great granddaughter, Courtney Sanford; five sisters, Maye Curry and Geneva Shaffer, both of Akron, OH., Emaline Smith of Ironton, OH., Bettie Rhodes of Richland, WA. and Margie Perry of Canvas, WV.; three brothers, Denver Yoho of Gallipolis, OH, Clyde Yoho Jr. of Ripley, WV. and Allen Yoho of Massillon, OH.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty Lou Young, 62, of Hurricane, wife of John Otis Young Sr., died Sunday at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was a cook with Hurricane Senior Citizens Center. Survivors include her mother. Marie Knight of Hurricane; one son, Bobby Otis of Hurricane; one daughter, Tina Womack of Hurricane; two brothers, Bill Knight of Indiana and Eddie Knight of Culloden; and two sisters, Jean Hardis of Ona and Fay Chambers of Indiana. Funeral was held Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home; burial in Young Family Cemetery.
