Bernard E. Moore, 84, of Scott Depot died April 17, 2000, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.
He was a retired machinist from Union Carbide, Institute.
Surviving: wife, Marjorie McCracken Moore of Scott Depot; daughter, Gloria Fox of Nitro; sons, Gary of Hurricane and Roger of Scott Depot; sisters, Enola Rhodes of St. Albans, Janice Becher, Leota Dunlap and Ethel Pack, all of South Charleston; brothers, Billy of St. Albans, Haskell of South Charleston, David of Lexington, Virginia, and Gerald of Alum Creek; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Service was held April 20, 2000 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, Cross Lanes. Burial was in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Clara M. Blankenship
Clara M. Blankenship, 74, of Eleanor, formerly of Buffalo, died April 18, 2000, in Putnam General Hospital after a short illness.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Putnam County.
Surviving: son, Albert L. of Buffalo; daughter, Viola Gail Stutler of Buffalo; brother, Golden Casto of Grimms Landing; sisters, Icy Martinez and Emma Miller, both of Marysville, California; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Service was held April 20, 2000 at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, with the Rev. Sampy Hart officiating. Burial was in Walker Chapel Cemetery, Robertsburg.
Bertha Mae Damron
Bertha Mae Wilson Damron, 74, of Hurricane, formerly of Radnor, died April 17, 2000, in Edgewood Manor, Wellston, Ohio.
She was retired from Wayne Pharmacy.
Surviving: son, Roger Lee of Hurricane and Ronald Thomas of Owensboro, Kentucky; sister, Macie Frye of Huntington; half sisters, Betty Perry, JoAnn Fortner, Sandy Napier, Carlene VanHoose, and Norma Napier; half brother, Jack Cox, three grandchildren.
Service was held April 20, 2000 at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, with Elder Roger Maynard and Elder Charles Lucas officiating. Burial was in the Damron family Cemetery, Radnor.
Sadie H. Farmer
Sadie H. Farmer, 84, of Spotsylvania, Virginia, formerly of Poca, died April 17, 2000, in Fredericksburg Nursing Home after a long illness.
Surviving: half sister, Phyllis Slaubough of Horse Shoe Run, West Virginia; half brother, Muril Fauber of Jacksonville, North Carolina; one nephew and two nieces.
Service was held April 21, 2000 at Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Red House, with the Rev. Kenny Roberts officiating. Burial was in the memorial gardens. Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, was in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorial donations to the American Diabetes Foundation, 1660 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
Gilbert R. Glenn
Gilbert Ray Glenn, 58, of Hurricane died April 19, 2000, at home after a long illness.
He was a member of Peaceful Valley Freewill Baptist Church, a retired mechanic and a lifelong resident of Hurricane.
Surviving: wife, Dolly; daughter, Patty Gillispit of Hurricane; stepsons, Norman and Douglas Newsome, both of Hurricane; stepdaughter, Sheila Carnes of Lynchburg, Virginia; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild.

She was a homemaker.

Ezra M. Tucker, 92, of Robertsburg died April 21, 200, in Pt. Pleasant Center after a short illness.
He was a retired farmer.

Charles Lloyd Lewis
Charles Lloyd Lewis, 79, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at his residence. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. G.F. McCabe officiating. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born June 25,1920, in Glenwood, W.Va., a son of the late William F. and Alice D. Ball Lewis. He was a farmer and a custodian for Tag Galyean and Dutch Miller Chevrolet. He was a member of Fairfield United Methodist Church and attended Central Church of the Nazarene, Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Ekers Lewis; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles W. and Deborah Lewis of Huntington, Richard K. and Judy Lewis of Proctorville, Ohio, and Raymond and Kim Lewis of Mooresville, N.C.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Rick Soderstrom of Huntington and Alice and Terry Henry of Apple Grove; one sister, Emma Adams of Hurricane; five granddaughters, Kimberly Khan, Heather Lewis, Charlene Lewis, Misty Rae Lewis, and Tera Henry; one grandson, Casey Lewis; two great-granddaughters, Kirsten and Suraiya Khan; and a host of family and friends. Lena May Jimison “Granny” Smith
Mrs. Lena May Jimison “Granny” Smith, of Culloden, WV, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 18, 2000 in SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Putnam, Hurricane. She had attained the age of 98 years and 10 months. Funeral services were conducted Friday April 21, 2000 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. Winford Curry officiating. Burial in Trace Fork Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Culloden. She was born on June 7, 1901, in Culloden, a daughter of the late Anderson and Alice Hicks Jimison. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, one son, two grandchildren, and her husband, Harry Austin Smith in 1940. She was a homemaker. She was the oldest member of Trace Fork Missionary Baptist Church, which she joined in 1912. She is survived by one daughter, Ruth Edwards of Culloden; one son, Benny Smith of Ravenswood; four grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Heck Funeral Home, Milton, was in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made to Trace Fork Missionary Baptist Church for upkeep of the cemetery.

Mrs. Hettie Cardwell, 92, of Salt Rock passed away Monday, April 17, 2000. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, April 20, 2000 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel Barboursville, by Pastor Bill Cassady. Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. She was born May 3, 1907, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Linzy and Ann Baker Gue. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Clinton Cardwell, and one son, Jennings Cardwell. She is survived by two sons, Leo Cardwell and Don Cardwell, of Huntington; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Gladys Goodpaster O'Dell,
Mrs. Gladys Goodpaster O'Dell, 89, of Huntington passed away Monday, April 17, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Henson Mortuary by Dr. Elaine Rhodes. Burial in Woodmere Memorial Park. She was born March 15, 1911, in Bath County, Ky., a daughter of the late George Harrison Goodpaster and Lillian M. Williams Goodpaster Dillon. She was a member of Kuhn Memorial Presbyterian Church, Barboursville. Her husband, Carl E. O'Dell, also preceded her in death in 1991. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Sue and Joseph Shanklin of Barboursville; three grandchildren, Kimberly and Jim Jordan of Huntington, Joseph C. Shanklin of Tampa, Fla., and Stephanie and Don Elswick of Ona; and four great-grandchildren, Jason and Missy Jordan and Tara and Corey Elswick.

Carolyn Sue Wallace Hager, 49, of Huntington, WV passed away Saturday, April 22, 2000 at her home. She was in West Virginia on Sept. 23, 1950. Carolyn was a daughter of the late Evah Mae Rowsey Wallace Smith and Dana Wallace. She was a former employee of Morris Memorial Convalescent & Nursing Home, Milton and attended Calvary Apostolic Church, Hurricane. She is survived by her husband, John W. Hagerone daughter, Cristal Ward; two sons, Ricky and John Clay Hager all of Huntington; six grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanette Lepere of Wyandotte, Mich. and Mary Gibson of Milton; seven brothers, Dwight Wallace of Detroit, Mich., Ronald Wallace of AZ, James Michael Smith of VA, Jerry Smith, Johnny Smith and Raymond Smith all of Milton and Clarence Smith of Pensacola, FL. Richard Joseph Cashdollar
Mr. Richard Joseph Cashdollar, 53, of Barboursville, WV, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, April 21, 2000 at his residence. Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 24,2000 at the.Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Randy Benion and Rev. Dana Clay. Entombment in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born October 19, 1946 in Athens, Ohio, a son of Dorothy Edwards Cashdollar of Reedsville, Ohio, and the late Alfred Joseph Cashdollar. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Cashdollar. He was a member of the Boilermakers Local, #667, Winfield, WV. He was a US Navy veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Betty Fife Cashdollar; two daughters, Heather Cashdollar Adkins and her husband, Larry, of Nashville, TN, and Susan Cashdollar and her boyfriend, David Jennings, of Huntington; two sisters, Mary Jane Pryor and her husband, Charles of Bethyl Park, PA and Delores Jean Watson of Reedsville, OH; four nephews, one niece, two great-nephews and two great-nieces. He was retired from Union Carbide Corp. with 35 years' service, a Protestant and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Clifford A. Rollins, 72, of Paradise died April 10, 2000, in Putnam General Hospital of injuries received when a tree fell on him.
He was retired from FMC, Nitro, with 37 yerars' service, a member of the United Steelworkers, a former employee of Southern Supply, Nitro, a member, choir director and trustee of Paradise Church of God Mission.
