in Forest Memorial Park, Milton, W.Va. Mrs. Chapman was born October 1, 1923, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Weston and Hattie Quinn Grant. She was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle of Praise in Hurricane, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Chapman. She is survived by a son, Gary Chapman of Culloden, W.Va.; one daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Paul Searls of Hurricane, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Kathy Searls of Hurricane, W.Va.; a grandson, David Eric Searls of Hurricane, W.Va.; and one brother, Dana Grant of Tampa, Fla. Mrs Brenda K. Fulks, 45, of Barboursville, W.Va., died Wednesday, September 20, 2000, at her residence. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 23, 2000, at Rock of Ages United Baptist Church by the Rev. Buddy Muncy. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Brenda was born February 17, 1955, in Cabell County, W.Va, a daughter of Hurston Ray and Deloris Lambert Gilkerson of Salt Rock, W.Va. She was a teacher’s aide for the Barboursville school system. She was a member of the Rock of Ages United Baptist Church. Additional survivors include her husband, Dwight “Dusty” Fulks; two sons, Jeffery Ray Fulks of Barboursville and Michael Shane Fulks of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Debbie Bailey and Alice Baylous, both of Salt Rock, and Shelia Cantley of Barboursville; two brothers, the Rev. Darrel Gilkerson of Huntington and Keith Gilkerson of Salt Rock; her father-in-law, Harry E. Fulks of Barboursville; and several nieces and nephews. Chapman’s Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Larry Bret Spurlock, 31, of Barboursville, W.Va., died Wednesday, September 20, 2000. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m Saturday at Henson Mortuary by Pastor R. Keith Whitt. Burial in Oaklawn Memorial Park. He was born November 24, 1968, a son of Larry A. Spurlock of Huntington and Patricia Clark Fahrenz of Barboursville. He was a graduate of Barboursville High School and attended Marshall University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was night auditor at the Gateway Inn of Barboursville. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles Fahrenz. In addition to his parents, survivors include maternal grandparents, William and Dorothy Clark of Barboursville; paternal grandmother, Mozelle Spurlock of Huntington; an aunt and uncle, Bill Jr. and Susan Clark of Huntington; and cousins Jennifer and Jeffrey Clark. Earl Marvin Clark, 91, of Culloden, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2000, in Teays Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hurricane, W.Va. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 23, 2000, at Heck Funeral Home with Minister Bud Lucas officiating. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Earl was born in Lincoln County on August 25, 1909. He was a son of the late Jeff and Caledona Hubbard Clark. Earl was preceded in death on April 4, 1998, by his wife, Julia O. Grass Clark. He was baptized in 1951, and was a member of the Milton Church of Christ. Earl was retired from FMC, Nitro, W.Va. He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Yvonne and Berkley “Red” Villars of Culloden and Reba Brown of Milton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Norma Clark of Hurricane, Charles and Dorothy Clark of Louisville, Ky., and Dennis and Karen Clark of Duluth, Ga; one grandson; 11 granddaughters; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marie Stowers of Masury, Ohio, and Susie Jimison of Tempe, Ariz. Delbert L. Mount, 23, Lesage, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2000. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 24, 2000, at the Wallace Home and Chapel by Rev. Robert Blake. Burial in Forest Memorial Par.k He was born May 27, 1977, in Hunntington, a son of Clyde and Delores Staley Mount of Lesage. He was a front desk supervisor at the Best Western Gateway Inn. He graduated in 1996 from Cabell Midland School, where he was a sergeant major with the band. He also attended Marshall University and played softball with CSX Railway. He was the on Industrial Management Bowling League and was a big fan of hockey. He was preceded in death by PaPaw Okey Mount, Uncle Lewis W. Staley, and cousin, Joshua Dale Stley. Toby Adkins officiating. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Jolynn was born in Huntington, WV on October 12, 1958. She was the daughter of Betty Misner Justice of Ona, and the late Stanley Kitchen. She was a homemaker. Jolynn is survived by her husband, Michael Rigdon; tow daughters, Kachina Marie Ridgon and Skylar Nicole Rigdon, both at home; her stepfather, John Keith Justice of Hurricane; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Terry Arthur Kitchen of Hilton Head Island, S.C, and Bryan Keith and Brenda Justice, both of Ona; one niece, Kim Justice; and one nephew, Shawn Justice.

Boyce Ray “Bo” Chambers, 72, of Barboursville died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1928 in Cabell County, a son of the late Albert Leslie and Mary Catherine Nash Chambers. He was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Karen Lou Chambers and Ruby Lee Porter; and two brothers, Larry O’Neil Chambers and Donald Albert Chambers. Survivors include his best friend and wife, Billie Ann Pinkerton Chambers; one beloved son and daughter-in-law, David Lee and Michelle Rea Pinkerton of Huntington; two much loved grandchildren, Coris Beth and Anthony David Pinkerton; one brother and his wife, Michael Reed and Carol Chambers of Barboursville; one sister-in-law, Judy Chambers, wife of Donald, of Milton; five nephews; three nieces; twenty-one grandnephews and nieces; several great-grandnephews and nieces; two friends, Joyce Collins and Teresa Giles of the Peritoneal Dialysis Unit at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Gladys Ray, 70, of Milton went home to be with the Lord on Satruday, Sept 23, 2000, in St Mary’s Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Pastors Bobby Ray and Duane Defoe officiating. Burial in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock. She was born in Cabell County, W.Va., on Nov. 27, 1929 a daughter of the late Lonnie and Myra Brown Bledsoe. She also was preceded in her death by her husband, Clifford C. Ray, who passed away on July 30, 2000; a son Bret Allen Ray; a brother, Darrell Bledsoe. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church. She is survived by her three sons, Duane Ray and special friend, Susie Palmer, Marvin and Annetta Ray, and Mike and Mary Ray, all of Milton; three sisters, Mildred Wetherholt of South Point, Ohio, and Faye McComas and Jewell Dine Johnson, both of Salt Rock; three brothers, Melvin Bledsoe of Barboursville, Sherrell Bledsoe of Salt Rock and Leon Bledsoe of Milton; seven grandchildren: six great-grandchildren, and special thanks to her nieces, Erma Lovejoy and Regina Napier.
John W. “Jack” Rowsey
John W. “Jack” Rowsey, 64, of Barboursville, W.Va, died September 22, 2000, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born July 11, 1936, in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Ellis H. and Mary Elizabeth McKay Rowsey. He was a former sales manager, social service worker, financial advisor, and a devoted father and grandfather. Survivors include aunt and uncle Ruth and the Rev. O.V. “Pete” Holderby of Proctorville, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and B.L. Schultz of Athalia, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Robert and Luella Rowsey of Opelika, Ala; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Don Nash of Barboursville; daughter Denise Juan of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette Rowsey and Chuck Minsker of Huntington; Linda L. Brady of Barboursville, former wife and the mother of his children; and nine nieces and nephews. He is also survived and will be especially missed by his six grandsons, Albert R. “Bert” Juan III, Gerrad “Gerry” Juan, Akila Juan, Scott Nash, Justin Minsker and Evans Minsker. She is survived by her husband, Homer Bartram of Huntington; one daughter and son-in-law, .Sue and Robbie Adkins of Huntington; one sister, Faye Baker of Huntington; two special nephews, Gary and Roger Bartram; several nieces, nephews and two special friends.. Margaret Ann Doyle, 79, of Daytona Beach, Fla., formerly of Huntington, widow of James T. Doyle II, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, in Charleston Area Medical Center. A graveside service was held Monday, Sept 18, 2000, at the Woodmere Memorial Park Abbey of Remembrance with Dr. Rabey officiating. Entombment followed. She was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Matewan, a daughter of the late George and Maude Hatfield Wagner. Mrs.Doyle was a retired Realtor. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Glenna Doyle and Todd Mason; and one son Jim Doyle III, all of Daytona Belch. Fla.; two sisters, Blanche Priestley of Charleston, W.V and Letty Whippel of Marietta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Jade Mason, Melissa Hunt and Jamie Doyle; and one great-granddaughter, Lindsey Hunt. Donald Hodge, 79, of Huntington, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2000, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 17, 2000, at Henson Mortuary with Rev. Pete Davidson officiating. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton, W.Va. Born August 21 1921, in Branchland, W.Va, Mr. Hodge was the son of the late Henry Haywood and Myrtle Melinda Swanson Hodge. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and saw action during the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from Connor Steel, and was a member of VFW Post 9738, American Legion Post 177 in Barboursville, and Good Shepherd Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son Donald H. Hodge of Prichard, W.Va.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna and James M. Kimball of Huntington and Alice Kelley of Huntington; one sister, Mabel Cummings of Hamlin; two brothers Ishmel Hodge of Milton and Charles B. “Billy” Hodge of Brunswick, Ohio; five grandchildren, Joshua Coker, Matthew Kelley, Sean McComas Aaron McComas and Madaloyne Hodge; and the mother of his children Daisy Hicks Hodge Bailey of Prichard. Mrs. Dicia L. Bledsoe, 80, of South Point Ohio, formerly of Huntington, W.Va, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 13, 2000, in Morris Memorial Convalescent and Nursing Home, Milton, after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Joe Dolen officiating. Burial in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, W.Va. Dicia was born in Cabell County on February 6, 1920. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Minnie Alice Morrison Owens. Dicia was also preceded in death by two sisters, Delma Stahl and Denna Baker; three brothers, Orville, Carl and Wilson Owens, and on August 8, 1992, by her husband, Boyd M. “Maris” Bledsoe. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church, Salt Rock and a homemaker. Dicia is survived by one daughter, Roberta Ann Roswall of South Point, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Roger and Shirley Bledsoe, also of South Point, and Ronald L. and Charlotte Bledsoe of Milton; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Delcie Rollyson of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.; and one brother, Roy Owens of Milton.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Lorena Mae Hitt Paugh, one brother, Glen Paugh; and one sister, Arah Zimmerman. He was a member of the Milton United Methodist Church. He was a member of BPOE #313, Huntington Lodge. He was also a member of the Moose Nitro Lodge No. 565, and a member of the VFW Post 9796, Milton and American Legion Post 139, Milton. He was former commissioner of the Salt Rock Sewer Commission. He was also former director of the Youth Center of Cabell County. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Leah Atkins Paugh, four sons, Gail Dallas Paugh of San Diego, Calif., B. Dennis Paugh of Milton, Daniel H. Paugh of Ellicott City, Md., and David A. Paugh of Hurricane, W.Va.; one daughter, Debra Lynn Paugh of Scottsville, Va.; two step-daughters, Kathy Snow of Jane Lew, W.Va., and Tina Sulsona of Salem, W.Va.; one stepson, Joseph A. Vincent of Paris, Texas; two sisters, Edith Hyre of Weston, W.Va., and Reva Harrison of Jane Lew, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. Mary Ellen Bullock, 69, of Winfield died September 8, 2000, in Heartland of Charleston after a long illness.
She was a retired registered nurse from the state Rehabilitation Center with 13 years' service.
Surviving: daughters, Jeanette Bates of Arvada, Colorado, Jane Ghareeb of Poca and Rita Taylor of Scott Depot; sons, Danny Maurer of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, John Maurer of Winfield and Lawrence Bullock of St. Albans; several grandchildren.

Sharon DeVore Elliott, 45, of Poca died September 12, 2000, at home after a long illness.
She was a homemaker, a member of Church of God Missions and Moose Lodge 868, St. Albans. She was a lifelong resident of Poca.
Surviving: husband, John E. Elliott; daughter, Christina Linhart of Elkview; mother, Mamie DeVore of Poca; sisters, Carolyn Smith of St. Albans and Lois Bailey of Tornado; brothers, Larry DeVore of Milton and Rex DeVore of Red House; one granddaughter.

Robert G. Watson
Robert Glenn Watson, 65 of Washington Court House, Ohio died September 11, 2000, at home. He had been ill since July.
He was born August 27, 1935 at Winfield to John Nelson and Garnett Marie Call Watson. He moved to Washington Court House in 1963. He was a retired driver from McMullen Trucking Co., Greenfield, with 30 years' service, and a member of Washington Court House Lodge #123 of the Fraternal Order of Elks
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Watson.
Surviving: wife, Connie L. Larry Burton Schoolcraft, 72, of Hurricane died September 12, 2000, at home.
He retired from FMC, South Charleston. He was a former Advent Christian minister with 40 years' service and a 44-year resident of Hurricane.

He was retired from the United Steelworkers, was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a Protestant.

Murhl C. Turley Jr., 74, of Hurricane died September 16, 2000, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.
He was senior partner of Turley & Turley law firm, Charleston, a former business manager at Charleston Memorial Hospital, former credit manager at Elk Refinery and former vice president at Commonwealth Gas Corp. He was a member of USS Hanna Veterans Association and Baptist Temple, Charleston. He was a former stage manager of the Charleston Light Opera Guild and the Charelston Ballet. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and West Virginia University College of Law.
Surviving: wife, Becky H. Turley; daughter, Sandra Van Olden of Hillsboro, Ohio; sons, John Turley and M. Glenn Turley, both of Charleston; stepdaughters, Kim R. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Rev. Ronnie Scarberry officiating. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Dova was born in Barboursville and was a daughter of the late Sam Peyton and Gladys Scarberry Peyton Edwards. Dova was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Walter Edwards. She was a homemaker. Dova is survived by her husband, Cecil Bates; one daughter. Cela Jo Bates of Barboursville and her fiance, Will Gauze; one son and daughter-in-law, Cecil Darrell and Judy Bates of Huntington; one granddaughter, Cindy Dawn Zickefoose of Huntington; two great-grandchildren, Whitney and Dylan Zickefoose; four sisters, Brenda Bond of Ona, Rosa Peck of Naples, Fla., Phyllis Tassen of Huntington and Emalene Stone of Barboursville.

Mable Cook, 83, of Salt Rock W.Va., went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Tony Vance. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born June 10, 1917, in Kessler, W.Va., a daughter of the late Joe and Gertrude Wellman Estep. She was a member of the Spirit of Victory Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Cook. She is survived by one daughter, Sonja Caynor of Milton; four grandchildren, David Joe Sowards, Charles Edward Sowards, Laura Gail Mason and Edith Ann Linville; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Sowards, Samantha Gail Linville, Ashley Marie Sowards, William Christopher Meade, April, Jennifer and Paul Mason; one great-great-granddaughter, Morrigan Mason. The family would like to especially thank Hospice of Huntington for their kindness and care.
Curtis Eugene Fellure
Curtis Eugene Fellure, of Glenwood, W.Va., died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, in St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Henson Mortuary, Pea Ridge, with Rev. Ed Hood officiating. Burial in Union Ridge Cemetery, Glenwood. He was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Cabell County, a son of the late Charles and Lula Mount Fellure. He was a retired machinist with Sturm Machine Shop, Barboursville, and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica H. Fellure; and daughter, Lillian Ann Pack. Survivors include one son-in-law, Joe Pack of Glenwood; one sister, Adalee Jones of Iverness, Fla.; three grandchildren, Brent and Gayla Pack and Veronica and Fred Dailey, all of Glenwood, and Deborah Pack of Moorefield, W.Va.; and seven great-grandchildren, Timothy, Kyle, Autumn, Raven and Logan Pack, Aaron Dailey and Michael Pack.
Imogene Marcum
Imogene Marcum, 74, of South Point Ohio, died Wednesday, August 30, 2000, at her home. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 3, 2000, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by the Rev. Ray Adkins. Burial in Cedar Cliff Cemetery. She was born March 12, 1926, in East Lynn, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Roma Dillon Adkins. She was a member of Burlington Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Marcum. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and William “Will” Frederick of South Point; one son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Camille Marcum of Stone Mountain, Ga.; three sisters, Norma Fisher of South Point, Lois Tallent of Fairborn, Ohio, and Maedell Adkins of East Lynn; one brother, Ferry Adkins of Salt Rock; one grandson, Brian Janis of Middlebury, Ind, and several nieces and nephews.
Marie Pratt Thompson
Marie Pratt Thompson, 90, of Branchland, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 31, 2000. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 3, 2000, at Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel by Rev. Bill Cassady and Rev. Carlos Gibson. Burial in Green Valley Cemetery. She was born December 28, 1909, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Millard and Adeline Childers Pratt. She was a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church and a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 95, Barboursville. She was also preceded in death by her husband Dallas J. “Jack” Thompson; two grandsons, Joe Michael Thompson and Gabe Thompson; one great grandson Steven Seth Sansom; two sons-in-law Darrell “Bub” Beckett and Clovis Hatfield; one sister, Wilma Gue; and three brothers Forrest Pratt, Frank Pratt and Clifford Pratt. She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Ruth “Pat” Hatfield of Branchland, Margaret and Truman Sansom of Salt Rock and Nila Jean Beckett of Barboursville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Donna Thompson of Letart, W.Va., Philip and Leah Thompson of Barboursville and David and Janet Thompson of Salt Rock; three brothers, Ray Pratt and Emery Pratt, both of Salt Rock, and John Pratt of Huntington; 16 grandsons, four granddaughters, 21 great-grandsons, 24 great-granddaughters, three great-great-grandsons and three great-great-granddaughters. Grandsons served as pallbearers. The family would like to thank Hospice of Lincoln County, especially Pam, Lois, Wanda, Sue, Debra, Susan, Pattie and Kristi. She was Maw Maw to everybody and will be missed very much.
Elizabeth M. Wheeler
Elizabeth M. Wheeler, 79, of Huntington, died Monday, Sept 4, 2000, in St. Mary's Hospital. She was born June 17, 1921, in Huntington, W.Va, a daughter of the late William A. and Anita McAboy Wheeler. She was a retired bookkeeper with Dutch Miller Chevrolet and a member of Twentieth Street Baptist Church. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Mary Eloise Belville of Huntington, W.Va.
Matthew M. Washington
Matthew M. Washington, 24, of Huntington, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 5, 2000, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, September 8, 2000 at Highlawn Baptist Church with Dr. Terrell Bradley, Dr. Jerry Warren and Rev. Cledith Campbell officiating. Burial in Woodmere Memorial Park. Matt was born January 31, 1976, in Huntington, a son of Jim O. and Carolyn Dillon Washington of Huntington. He was vice president of Axwood Fireplace Products. He was a member of Highlawn Baptist Church where he was a member of the sound committee. He was a 1994 graduate of Huntington East High School. In the past five years, Matt has touched the lives of hundreds of young men and women doing volunteer construction work on low income homes in four states for the glory of God. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, David and Barbie Washington of Huntington, Tim and Janie Washington of Barboursville, W.Va., and Mark Washington of Lexington, Ky.; aunts and uncles, Marvin Dillon of Barboursville, Danny and wife Judy Dillon of Fraziers Bottom, Avilea Hensley of Charlotte, N.C, and Lloyd Washington of Tucson, Ariz.; his girlfriend of five years, Christal Gore of Ona, W.Va.; three nephews, Christopher, Shawn and Michael; and four nieces, Adrian, Elizabeth, Valerie and Annie; and many cousins.
