William Crist Albright Sr.
William Crist Albright Sr., 65, of Huntington, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2001, at home. He was born May 9, 1935, in Cabell County, a son of the late Willie and Nettie Albright. One sister, Louise Farren, also preceded him in death. He retired from CSX Railroad, where he worked as a machinist, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Juanita Baker Albright; a very special mother-in-law, Martha Baker, one daughter and son-in-law, Diana Lynn and James Moore; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Crist Jr. and Karen Albright and John Albright, all of Huntington; eight grandchildren, Cristy, Kimberly, Brandon Michael, April, Ricky, Bradonna and Allyiah Albright and James T. Lucas; one grandson-in-law, Mike A. Michael; two great-grandchildren, Arianna and Madison Albright; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Don Thomas and Freda and Herman Nicholas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Freda Albright, Donnie and Shirley Albright and Lonnie and Jenny Albright; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of special friends and family. Pastor Howard Shelton conducted funeral services Monday, November 5, 2001, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel. Burial in Green Valley Cemetery, Branchland. Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, COLLEEN SPURLOCK MAYS, 78, of Barboursville, entered the kingdom of heaven on Tuesday, October 30, 2001. Graveside service was conducted at 11 am. Thursday, November 1, 2001 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Craig Coster. Entombment at White Chapel Mausoleum. She was born July 30,1923, in Leon, W.Va, a daughter of the late Wirt and Ida Ramsey Spurlock. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter H Mays, eight sisters and one brother. She was a Wave in the U,S. Navy serving in World War II. She was a graduate of Hunter College of New York and Huntington Business College. She was an adult tutor for the Laubach Literary International Organization. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Sharon VanOoteghem and Debbie and Jack Rayburn, all of Barboursville; four grandchildren, Sara Wheeler and her husband Greg of London, Ky., J.R VanOoteghem, Aaron Rayburn and Brooke Rayburn all of Barboursivlle; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Kathryn Wheeler and soon to be born Caroline Grace Wheeler; a special niece, Helen Bays, and nephew, Danny Ratcliff; and a dear friend and sister-in-law, Dorothy Mays. Edward Raymond Toloski, of Barboursville passed away Saturday, October 27, 2001. Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, November 3, 2001 at Our Lady of Fatima by Father Joseph Peterson. Burial in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Irene Rita Toloski; children and their spouses, Edward Peter Toloski, Louis and Tammy Toloski, Mary Elizabeth and Mitch Klein and Susan and John Harp; grandchildren, Michael, Miles, Thomas, Jessica, Beverly and Christina; brothers and sisters, Ida Gladkowski and Joseph and Ester Toczydlowski. Edward was a skilled dental technician servicing well-known dentists in Philadelphia. He owned and operated his own practice for many years. His children and grandchildren live in Barboursville, W.Va., Richmond, Va., Westhampton, N.J., and Palm Bay, Fla. Ed and his wife Irene were active at the Barboursville Senior Center, where they have many friends. Edward’s surviving brother and sister reside in Philadelphia. Eunice Mabel Plybon, 91, of Barboursville, W.Va., died Sunday, October 28, 2001, in Heritage Manor Care Center, Huntington. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 31, 2001, at Henson Mortuary, by Dr. Pat Albright of Pittsburgh and Minister Danny Evans, director of Howell’s Mill Christian Assembly Church Camp. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Garden, Barboursville. She was born October 30, 1909, in Lincoln County, W.Va., daughter of the late Benjamin Lee and Mollie Hicks Grass. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. Plybon; grandsons, Terry Lynn Plybon and Jeffrey Scott Lambert; one brother, one sister, two half brothers, two half sisters and one stepbrother. She was known and loved by many favorite names, Grandma Plybon, Gobby, Squeeks, Aunt Mabel and to special friends as “Motorcycle Mabel” the Avon Lady, and the Lady with the “Hat.” She was a member of Farmdale Church of Christ since 1970, and prior to that attended Trace Fork Baptist and Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law Ronald and Joy Plybon of Marysville, Tenn., Raymond and Lois Plybon of Huntington and Richard and Barbara Plybon of Ona; one daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Larry Lambert of Proctorville; grandchildren and spouses, Ron and Chris Plybon, MIchael and Debbie Plybon, Bret and Lisa Plybon, Karen and Dan Cooper, Tina and Kenneth Castle, Larry Glen and Vicki Lambert and Evan Plybon; great-grandchildren, Kacey and Michael Castle, Drew and Ben Cooper, Matthew, Amanda, Rachel and Madalyn Lambert and Justin Bays; two special nieces, Binnie Howard and Rose Lucas for their love and devotion to their “Aunt Mabel” and her family; also a very special young lady, Tammy Baker.

Carolyn Sue Taylor, 54, of Winfield died Thursday, October 25, 2001, at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was a homemaker and a member of Souls Harvest Fellowship in Nitro. She was a three-year resident of Winfield and was formerly of Charleston.
Surviving: husband, Thomas M. Taylor; son, Kirby Johnson of Cross Lanes; daughters, Kimberly Johnson of Charleston and Katrina Miragliotta of Winfield; sister, Gail White of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren.
Service was held October 29, 2001 at Souls Harvest Fellowship with the Rev. Paul Cogar officiating. Burial was in Rock Spring Cemetery, Goldtown. Arthur Roy “Blackie” Erskine, 82, of St. Albans died Oct. 22, 2001, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston.
He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, St. Albans, a retired superintendent from Lester Construction Co. and a 63-year member of the Carpenters Union Local 128, St. Albans. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and a 55-year resident of St. Albans.
Surviving: wife, Maxine Miles Erskine; sisters, Jennie Margaret Chapman and Irene Weaver, both of Winfield; brother, Charles Ray Erskine of Hurricane.

Charlotte June Huffman, 65, of Nitro died Oct. 22, 2001, in CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was a retired co-manager at the Kanawha County Dental Health Council, Charleston, with 25 years of service. She attended the Church of the Nazarene, Sissonville, and was a 19-year resident of Nitro.

Mrs. Brumfield was preceded in death by her husband, Corbit, parents Sulvanner and Virginia Alice O’Neal Anderson, brothers Jessie, Hurbert, James, Lacy, Burke, Robert and Joe Lee and sisters Vita, Drucey and Gladys. James Everette “Jim” Williams, 69, of Ona, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2001, at his residence. Jim was born December 29, 1931 in Huntington, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil E. Williams; his mother and stepfather, Nola Jane Erwin and Cecil F. “Bus” Erwin; and a sister, Alberta Davis. Jim was a retired employee of BASF and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Burns Williams; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sandi Williams of Ona; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Carl Rose of Ona; three granddaughters, Kara Williams at West Virginia University, Morgantown, Jennifer Rose of Ona, WV, and Terra L.
