Nancy Lynn Frazier, 47, of Fraziers Bottom died November 16, 2003, at home.
She was born June 14, 1956, a daughter of Virginia McAllister Frazier of Fraziers Bottom and the late Donald K. Frazier. She was a member of Fraziers Bottom United Methodist Church, a graduate of Winfield High School and an active participant in Putnam County Special Olympics.
Also surviving: sister and brother-in-law, Linda and James McAllister of Spring Grove, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Darlene Frazier of Fraziers Bottom; niece, Carrie Frazier of Fraziers Bottom.
Service was held Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, with the Rev. Kenneth Coon officiating. Burial was in the Frazier Family Cemetery, Fraziers Bottom.
The family suggests memorial donations be made in Nancy's name to the Putnam County Special Olympics, PO Box 683, Winfield WV 25213, Attn: John Mike Nichols.

Vaughn R. Lathey
Vaughn R. Lathey, 71, of hometown died November 15, 2003.
He was retired from Union Carbide, a Navy veteran and a member of St. Albans Moose and the NRA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kim Lathey.
Surviving: son, Rod and wife, Brenda Lathey of Dunbar; grandson, Jason Lathey; sister, Joan Crizer of Pennsylvania; brother, Eugene Lathey of Dunbar; best friend, Stacy Casto and her family, Trent, Nathen and Hunter.
Service was held Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at Gatens Funeral Home Chapel, Poca, with Pastor Jim Butcher officiating. Burial was in Emma Chapel Cemetery.

Juanita A. McCallister
Juanita A. McCallister, 82, of Hurricane died Sunday, November 16, 2003, at Teays Valley Nursing and Rehab.
She was retired from the State of West Virginia Retirement Program, and was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Albans.
Surviving: brother and sister-in-law, Lowell and Gay McCallister of Hurricane; sister, Louella Farley of South Charleston; several nieces and nephews.
Service was held Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans, with the Rev. Joel M. Harpold officiating. Burial was in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Markus D. Gillispie
Markus D. “Mark” Gillispie, 64, of Poca died November 18, 2003, at home.
He was born February 2, 1939 on Manilla Creek, a son of the late Cephas Howard Gillispie and Emma Flossie Cook.
He worked for Upton Construction and T.A. Chapman. He was also a Christian.
Surviving: his loving wife, Barbara Gillispie; sons, Billy Gillispie and fiancee, Michelle Henderson, Markus D. Gillispie and wife, Debbie, Ricky D. Gillispie and wife, Teresa, all of Poca; daughter, Burma Lynn Garnes and husband, Dennis of Red House; stepchildren, Harold, Herb and Ernie Cochran, all of Bancroft, and Tommy Cochran of Red House; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
Service was held Friday, November 21, 2003, at Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, with the Rev. Willard Beller officiating. Burial was in Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House.
The family suggest memorial donations be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1143 Dunbar Avenue, Dunbar WV 25064.

Thomas E. Lloyd
Thomas Edward Lloyd, 72, of Hurricane died November 18, 2003, in Putnam General Hospital.
He was raised in Spring Hill and was a retired maintenance worker, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and a Baptist.
Surviving: sons, Thomas Allen Lloyd of St. albans, Kenneth Dwayne and Michael L. Lloyd, both of South Charlejston; daughters, Reta Arlene Geoege and Tina Renee McCutcheon, both of South Charleston; sister, Frances Robgins of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; best friend, Robert Harper, special friends, Gail Harper, Deanna Hartman, Tim Williams, Sue Higginbotham and many others.
Service was held Friday, November 21, 2003, at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, with the Rev. Dennis Barnhart officiating. Burial was in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.

Claribel McNeil
Claribel McNeil, 84, of Bancroft died November 18, 2003.
She was a lifelong resident of Bancroft and a member of Bancroft Church of God Mission.
Surviving: loving husband of 65 years come December 22nd, Donald E. “Cat Bird” McNeil Sr.; daughters, Sue Legg and Jeanette Carter, both of Poca; son, Donald E. McNeil Jr. of Bancroft; sister, Jeanette Edwards of Cross Lanes; brother, Charles Wilkinson of Poca; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Service was held Friday, November 21, 2003, at Bancroft Church of God Mission with Pastor John Taylor and Frank Allen Jr. officiating. Entombment was in Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House. Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, was in charge of arrangements.

Dellos H. Adkins
Dellos H. Adkins, 74, of Liberty, formerly of Hometown, died November 19, 2003, in Jackson General Hospital following a long illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Ida Mae Adkins.
He was a lifelong resident of Putnam County, a retired self-employed grocer, having operated Adkins Grocery in Hometown for many years, and a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving: daughters and their husbands, Denise and Freeman Rollins and Kim and Newton Blevins, all of Liberty; son, Clifford Adkins of Liberty; grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael and Kimberly, all of Liberty.
Service was held Saturday, November 22, 2003, at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, with the Rev. Jerry Ranson officiating. Burial was in Walker Chapel Cemetery, Robertsburg.

Charles Albert Smith
Charles Albert Smith, 75, of Hurricane died November 19, 2003, at home after a long illness.
Born March 9, 1928 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Edward W. and Florence Louise Riddle Smith.
He was a retired regional manager from Equifax Credit Bureau, a Methodist and a member of Sleepy Hollow Golf Club, Hurricane.
Surviving: wife, Ruth Peters Smith; daughters, Nancy Parsons of Morgantown and Deborah Howie of Pittsburgh; son, Charles A. Smith Jr. of Charleston; sisters, Mary Rickards and Betty Wellman, both of Richmond, Virginia; brothers, Robert Smith of Wheeling, John E. Smith of Hopewell, Virginia; and Thomas Smith of McMurray, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Service was held Saturday, November 22, 2003, at Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.

Rosella Ann Brumfield
Mrs. Rosella Ann Brumfield, 59, of Lesage, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at her residence. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Chapman's Mortuary, with the Rev. Joe Dolen officiating. Burial in Pete Meadows Cemetery, Glenwood. She was born July 10, 1944, at Glenwood, W.Va., a daughter of the late John H. and Mary Booth Brumfield. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Frankie Brumfield. She is survived by five daughters and two sons-in-law, Tresa and Jim Wilson of Lesage, Debbie and Brian LaFavores of Russell Springs, Ky., Mara Evonne Hatfield of Huntington, Cindy Brumfield of Barboursville and Carmen Brumfield of Lesage; a son, Timothy Brumfield of Lesage; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lillie and Bud Ward of Milton, Sarah and Mike Earls of Lesage and Shirley Jenkins of Glenwood; two brothers, John Brumfield Jr. of Point Pleasant W.Va., and Robert “Bob” Brumfield of Glenwood; and 14 grandchildren, Natasha, James, Gregory, Ashtyn, Mark, Devan, Christopher, Megan, Zara, Jordan, Justin, Kayla, Kaitlyn and Doug.

Clara Mae Sovine
Clara Mae Sovine, 70, of Milton, widow of Roy Allen Sovine, died Thursday, November 20, 2003 at her son's home. Graveside services were conducted Sunday, November 23, 2003 in Culloden Community Cemetery, Culloden. Heck Funeral Home, Milton, was in charge of arrangements.

Frances Eloise Paugh Wagoner
Frances Eloise Paugh Wagoner, 80, of Barboursville passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2003. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by Dr. Ed Grant and the Rev. Ralph Sager. Entombment in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born on May 15, 1923, in Salt Rock the daughter of the late William Dallas and Ora Frances Morrison Paugh. She taught elementary school in Cabell County for 30 years. She was a member of the Barboursville Woman's Club and Steele Memorial United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her sister, June Paugh; two brothers, Sterling M. Paugh and Wyatt F. Paugh, and sister-in-law Clara Jean Paugh. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 Years, William C. Wagoner; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Greg Sager; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Susan Wagoner; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Madge and Vernon Adkins of Hurricane and Pauline and Edward Adkins of Huntington; sister-in-law, Evelyn Paugh; three grandchildren who she loved dearly, Stephanie and her husband Eric Fetty, Patrick Wagoner and Justin Sager; one greatgrandson, Jackson Fetty; and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving, caring, devoted wife, mother and nanny.

Nellie Ramey Anderson
Nellie Ramey Anderson, 93 of Huntington, went to sleep in Jesus' arms November 19, 2003. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 22, 2003, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Truman Adkins and Pastor Jim Nutter. Burial in Ramey Cemetery. She was born February 24, 1910, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Stephen and Clara Dillon Ramey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Anderson; three brothers, Arthur, Ancil and Azel Ramey; one sister, Bessie Evans and two nephews. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Lincoln and Cabell counties; retired from Hite-Saunders School and she taught Sunday School for many years at Bethlehem United Baptist Church. She was a loving sister and aunt. She is survived by one brother, Alfred Ramey of Worthington, Ky.; three sisters, Lillian Thomas of Huntington, Pearl Nelson of Martha and Juanita Meadows of South Point, Ohio; seven nieces and eight nephews. Pallbearers were nephews Carroll, Jackie, Darrell, and Stanley Ramey, Ronnie Thomas and Rodney Black. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington and her nurse, Hester.

Jerry Dale Fortner
Jerry Dale Fortner, 52, of Ona, W.Va., died Tuesday, November 18, 2003, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Rev. Michael Rowe. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born on January 8, 1951 in Cabell County, the son of Grover Fortner, Sr. of Huntington and the late Pauline Damron Fortner. Also surviving are his two daughters, Jerra Dee Fortner of Charlotte, N.C., and Misty Dawn Fortner of Sebastian, Fla.; and the love of his life, his fiance, Nancy Pierce of Ona; the cat, Elvis; one brother, Grover, Jr. and his wife Zadia Fortner of Huntington; one sister, Nancy and her husband Joe Stainbrook of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two nieces; two nephews and a host of cousins.

Randall Joe Adkins
Randall Joe Adkins, 53, of Barboursville, died Sunday, November 16, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Military graveside services were conducted Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at Oaklawn Memorial Park Huntington, by VFW Post #9738. He was born February 14, 1950, in Cabell County, a son of the late Norman Wallace Adkins and Jewell Frances Saul Adkins. He was an U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam and was a member of the VFW Post #9738, Huntington. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Leea and Michael Boling of Salt Rock; one sister and brother-in-law, Janet and D.D. Hobbs, and their three children of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two grandchildren. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Robert E. Adkins
Robert E. Adkins, 68, of Lesage, W.Va., passed away Sunday, November 16, 2003, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel by Pastor John Harris. Burial in Bowen Cemetery. He was born August 20, 1935, in Cabell County, a son of the late Antil and Mabel Dolen Adkins. He was retired from IBEW Local #317. He is survived by his wife, Allene “Drucie” Adkins; one daughter, Candis “Candi” Adkins of Huntington; two sons and their wives, Robbie and Sue Adkins and Rocky and Deatra Adkins, all of Huntington; four sisters, Geraldine Adkins, Sue Hodges and Lula Jarvis, all of Huntington, and Donna Sheets of Florida; one brother, Dennis Adkins of Apple Grove, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Ashley, Morgan and Matthew; and a special sister-in-law, Opal Cooper.

Anita H. Simpson
Mrs. Anita H. Simpson, 81, of Lesage, W.Va., died Monday, November 17, 2003, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral service were conducted Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Anita was born July 15, 1922, in Pomona, Calif., a daughter of the late Margarito and Agapite Cavorita Ruiz. She was a member of the Z-Warner United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Simpson, and one brother, Frank Ruiz. Survivors include a daughter, Jeannine A. Rutherford, and husband Kenneth, a son, Michael E. Simpson and wife Billie Jo, all of Ona, W.Va.; a sister, Mary Garcia of Santa Fe Springs, Calif.; four grandchildren, Michael L. Simpson and wife Kimberly C., Richard K. Rutherford and wife Rebecca H., and Eric Rutherford all of Ona, and Tina Simpson-Rister and husband John W. of Montgomery, Ala.; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Simpson-Rister and Alaine Rutherford.

Mary Virginia Glenn
Mary Virginia Glenn, 98, formerly of Milton, died Monday, November 17, 2003 in Huston Nursing Home, Hamden, where she had been residing. Graveside services were conducted Thursday, November 20, 2003 at Valley View Memorial Park Hurricane. Arrangements by Heck Funeral Home, Milton.

Jeanettie Mae Hodges
Jeanettie Mae Hodges, 80, of Poca died Tuesday, November 11, 2003, in St. Francis Hospital, Charleston.
She was a member of the Elizabeth Church of Christ and a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Wirt County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Hodges, parents, Irvin J. and Lavinia Mae Gill Rutledge, daughters, Sarah Jane and Sharon Sue, son, James Russell, and grandson, Joshua Andrrew.
Surviving: daughters, Nina Hodges of Roanoke, Virginia, Mary Hughes of Locust Grove, Georgia, Kathy Neal of Poca, Debbie Hutson of Greensburg, Kentucky, and Misty Hall of Roanoke; sisters, Beulah Ruth Wright and Janet Blair of Hampton, Virginia, and Velda Gearhart of Salem, Virginia; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Service was held Thursday, November 13, 2003, at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans, with Minister Eugene Conger officiating. Burial was in Hodges Family Cemetery, St. Albans.

Sarah C. Kien-Hatcher
Sarah Carina Kien-Hatcher, 19, of Hurricane died November 7, 2003, at home from complications of cystifc fibrosis.
She was a graduate of Hurricane High School and the Putnam County Career Center Culinary Arts Program. She was an 11-year resident of Hurricane.
Surviving: father and mother, Donald and Sigrid Hatcher of Hurricane; brothers, Daniel Ray Hatcher and Brian Christopher Hatcher, both at home; maternal grandparents, Siegfried and Ursula Kien of Zeltingen-Rachtig, Germany; paternal grandparents, Donald and Anna Hatcher of Hurricane; special aunt and uncle, Franz and Inge Krames of Lieser, Germany; other aunts and uncles, along with a host of relatives and special friends.
Service was held Thursday, November 13, 2003, at Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, with Pastor Claude Spurlock officiating. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sarah's name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Attention Communitations Department, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda MD 20814.
