Village Dr. passed away Sunday, December 29, 2002 at her home. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church. She is survived by one son, Jeffery Brent George, Mooresville, IN; three daughters, Judy Carroll George, Speedway, IN, Ruby Joette Beck, Brownsburg, IN, Julie Ann Baker, Russell Springs, KY; one brother, Calvin Hart, Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Velice Cottingin, Speedway, IN, Thelma Dowell, Mooresville, IN, and Nancy Hughes, Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were Thursday, 12:00 noon in the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Carroll Egnew officiating. Interment was in the Mill Springs National Cemetery at Nancy. The Family requests that expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Russell Springs Christian Church Building Fund. Larry D. Gaskin, 32,
Rushville, IN, passed away May 18, 2003 at his residence. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, bicycling, softball, and basketball and was a avid Cincinnati Reds fan.. He was also a member of the Clear Springs, Baptist Church in Russell Springs, KY. He graduated from Vincennes University with an Associate of Science Degree in 1990 and was also a graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute in Automotive Service Management in 2001. He is survived by his father, Glen Gaskin, Jamestown, KY; two brothers, Roger Gaskin, Sheridan, IN and Leslie Gaskin, Indianapolis, IN; two half brothers, Bobby Gaskin, Shelbyville, IN and Matthew Gaskin, Oklahoma; two half sisters, Vickie (Joe) Nevens, Indianapolis, IN and Robin (Jimmy) Hall, Jamestown, KY; and two uncles, Gregory Gibson, Coatesville, IN and Estel Gibson, Indianapolis, IN. Funeral services were Thursday, May 22, 2003 in the chapel of the Moster & Cox Mortuary. Interment was in the Little Blue River Cemetery in Rushville, IN. Moster & Cox Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.

Morris E. Gaskins, 70,
Edinburgh, IN formerly of Russell County, passed away Friday, August 22, 2003 at the Columbus Regional Hospital, Columbus, IN. He retired in 1996 after 34 years service as a core finisher for Golden Casung. Survivors include his wife, Beulah Mae Gaskins, Edinburgh, IN; four daughters, Rebecca Collins, Greenwood, IN, Nettie Gaskins, Edinburgh, IN, Susie Gaskins, Edinburgh, IN and Doris Hommel, Franklin, IN; two brothers, Leon Gaskins and Losier Gaskins, both of Russell Springs, KY; one sister, Patty Gaskins, Russell Springs, KY. She was preceded in death by a son, William Gaskins; a grandson, Brian Lee Hommel and by two brothers, Claude and William Gaskins. Funeral services were Wednesday, August 27, 2003 in the chapel of Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home with Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Interment was in the Rest Haven Cemetery. Nellie Mae Gilbert, 75,
Jamestown, KY, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the Russell County Hospital. She was retired from General Electric. Survivors include one son, Harold Gilbert, Keokuk, Iowa and one daughter, Barbara Lawless, Jamestown, KY; also surviving are three grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Ricky L.Lawless. Funeral services were Sunday, June 1, 2003 in the chapel of H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Bro. Tony Stephens officiating. Interment was in the Rexroat Cemetery. Pallbearers were Billy Frank Grider, Bobby Grider, Jimmy Glover, Stevie Glover, Billy Glover, Harold Gilbert. H.E. Richard Glisson, 75,
Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2003 at the Crockett General Hospital, Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a retired diesel mechanic for Case Tractors. He was a veteran of US Army. Survivors include two daughters, Lou A. Davis and Jackelyn K. Stevens, both of Elkton, TN; one twin brother, Ralph Glisson, Branson, MO; four grandchildren, Debra Denison and Charles Stevens, both of Elkton, TN, Desiree L. Denison, Lawrenceburg, TNand Richard D. Stevens, Lewisburg, TN; two great grandchildren, Kennedy A. Sutton, Elkton, TN and Lainey A. Denison, Elkton, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Claud Goodin, 78,
Of the Millerfield Community of Adair County, passed away Wednesday at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by five daughters, Wilma Carter, Columbia, KY, Helen Graham, Columbia, KY, Barbara Wesley, Russell Springs, KY, Sheila Goodin, Columbia, KY, and Angie Carter, Columbia, KY. Besides his parents, William and Barbara Ann Adkins Goodin, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Goodin and one son, Larry Goodin. Graveside services were Friday at the Tarter Cemetery with Bro. David Coffey officiating. Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ricky Grant, 38,
Glensfork, KY, passed away Friday July 25, 2003 at the Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room, Columbia, KY. He was a drywall contractor by trade. He is survived by his parents Raymond and Geneva Andrew grant, Glensfork, KY; three sons, Jordan Wade Grant, Johnathon Wade Grant and Justin Wade Grant, all of Glensfork, KY; one sister, Stephanie Grant, Jamestown, KY; his maternal grandmother, Christine Huddleston Andrew, Glensfork, KY; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Sunday July, 27, 2003 in the chapel of Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Stanley Watson and Bro. Hershey Giles officiating. Interment was in the Grant Morrison Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dwight Andrew, Troy Michael Andrew, Jimmy Brummett, Matthew Brummett, Jackie Helm, and Michael Helm. Donald “Jack” Grider, 75,
Russell Springs, KY, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2003 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Zaghgo and Tracy Seali, both of Louisville’ one sister, Bonnie Grider, Arizona; his step-mother, Quinnie Grider, Fair Oaks Nursing Home; and two grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were Monday, July 7, 2003 in the chapel of Rippetoe Funeral Home with Bro. John Wilson officiating. Interment was in the Rexroat Cemetery. Rippetoe Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Virginia Grider, 81,
Passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at the Russell County Hospital. For many years she and her late husband, E.O. “Pud” Grider owned operated the Star Theater and the Lake Trail Drive-In in Russell Springs, KY Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Harris, Russell Springs, KY; a sister, Fern Brown, Jamestown, KY; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Sunday in the chapel of Rippetoe Funeral Home with Bro. Carroll Egnew and Bro. Jim Kingry officiating. Special music was provided by David and Rose Withers and Bobby Dunbar. Interment was in the Russell Springs, Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Harris, David Hill, David Withers, Chuck Gossett, James Osborne, Steve Bunch and Kevin Taylor. Rippetoe Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Dallie E. Hadley, 62,
Jamestown, KY passed away Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.She was retired from Fruit of the Loom. She is survived by one son, Jim(Jan) Hadley, Somerset, KY; one daughter, Ruby Gail (Clyde) Kean, Jamestown, KY; five grandchildren, Brian Antle, Lisa Hadley, Bethany Hadley Trenton Harvey, and Jacob Harvey; and a special friend, Hiram Wooldridge. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Wayne Hadley. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 13, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Dunbar officiating. Special music was provided by Bobby Dunbar. Interment was in the Hadley Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Gosser and employees and staff at Majestic Yachts. Active pallbearers were Matthew Coffey, David Hadley, Jerry Hadley, David Womack, Bill Padgett and Rex Coffey. The Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Josie Clara Hadley, 73,
Jamestown, KY, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was a retired textile worker and a member of the Jamestown Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include one son, Alfred (Barbara) Hadley, Jr., Noblesville, IN; two daughters, Rhonda (King) Jones) and Carol (David) Kerns, both of Jamestown, KY; one brother, Gordon Wayman, Greenwood, IN; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were Thursday, June 19, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Morgan and Bro. Danny Brummett. Special music was provided by Beth Morgan. Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Kerns, Larry Hadley, King Jones, Matthew Jones, Michael Jones and Jeff Rigney. The Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Isabel M. Hale, 96,
Jamestown, KY passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home. Survivors include two sons, James (Jean) Hale, Jamestown, KY and WIlliam (Dianne) Hale, Novi, MI; one sister, Dorothy Dickerson, AZ; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. There will be no visitation and Burial will be in Royal Oak, MI.

Abigail Sierra Hare,
Infant daughter of Brandon Scott and Jennifer Kaye Hare, Jamestown, KY, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Randy and Judy Shanahan, Russell Springs, KY and paternal grandparents, David and Betty Hare, Jamestown, KY; great grandparents, Robert and Jean Richardson, Mary and Joe Kimbler, Bob and Rose Popplewell, and Wanna B. and Kenny Wilson, all of Russell Springs, KY. Graveside services were Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the Russell Springs Cemetery with Bro. Rod Lawless officiating. Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Arleen Weddle Harris, 58,
Russell Springs, KY passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at the Russell County Hospital after a short illness. She was a secretary for many different places for 40 years.
She was the daughter of Lela Roy Weddle and the late Willard Weddle. She was the loving mother and friend of two daughters, Tammy (Ronnie Veach) Harris Russell Springs, KY, and Tracie (Larry) Browning, Muncie, IN; four brothers, Jearl (Linda)Weddle, Albany, IN, Burl (Vickie)Weddle, and Gerald Weddle, both of Farmland, IN, and Darwin Weddle, Seattle, WA; two sisters, Darlene (Robert) Moon, Farmland, IN and Rosemary (Richard) Wagner, Farmland, IN; two grandchildren, Shelby and Tiara Browning; six nephews and four nieces and many great nieces and nephews.
The family request that any memorials be in the form of a donation to the American Cancer Society. Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara Holder Harris, 66,
Cincinnati, OH, formerly of the Ono Community of Russell County, passed way August 18, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati, OH She was the daughter of the late Myrtle and Alonzo Holder. She is survived by her husband Dravo “Jack” Harris, Cincinnati, OH; one son, Tracey (Kendra) Harris; one daughter, Teresa Harris (Kenneth) Mason, both of Cincinnati, OH; two brothers, Dorvis and Paul Holder; three sisters, Chloe Mason, Ortha Gaw, and Olga George; and three grandchildren, Justin Harris, Ben Harris, and Lance Mason. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Freetis Holder and Eldon Holder and one sister, Opal Whittle. Funeral services were Friday, August 22, 2003 in the chapel of Witt-Good and Kelsch Funeral Home with Bro. Garlin Wilson and Bro. Mullins officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Letha Popplwell Harris, 76,
Parks Ridge Community of Russell County passed away Thursday, January 16, 2003 at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Hugh, she is survived by four daughters, Linda Cook and Sandra Harris, both of Somerset and Melanie Holt and Michelle Hale, both of Russell Springs, KY; one brother, Delano Popplewell, Mt. Washington, KY; one sister, Rose Stephens, Russell Springs, KY; and three grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dover and Flona Hatfield Popplewell, one son, Ricky Hugh Popplewell, a brother, Cova Popplewell, and a sister Delsie Farmer. Funeral services were Sunday, January 19, 2003 in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Richie Curtis and Bro Elvis tucker officiating. Special music was provided by Nellie Ashbrook, Wanda Curtis, Wilma Eller and Doyle Wilson. Interment was in the Parks Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eddie Robertson, Marvin Johnson, Phillip Brown, Derek Polston, Doyle Wilson, and Arvin Wilson. Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Shirley Jean Harvey, 63,
Russell Springs, KY passed away Friday, March 7, 2003. She was the daughter of the late William S. Harvey and Lena M. Whittle Harvey. She is survived by two brothers, William R. Harvey, Costa Mesa, CA and Everett Harvey, Russell Springs, KY; one sister, Ama Louise Johnson, Shelbyville, IN. Funeral services were Sunday, March 9, 2003 with Bro. Bobby Bryant officiating. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Helm, Jamestown, KY; two sons, Bob (Joyce) Helm and Bill (Lucy) Helm; one sister, Martha Barnes, all of Jamestown, KY; and three grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Wednesday, April 23, 2003 in the the chapel of H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Bro. Don Hatton officiating. Interment was in the Jack Lawless Cemetery. H.E. Ralph A. Helm,
Jamestown, KY, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2003 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY. He was a retired minister and a member of Russell Lodge #284. Survivors include two sons, Robert (Joyce) Helm and Billy (Lucy) Helm, both of Jamestown, KY; one sister, Gertrude Malone, of Jamestown, KY; and three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were Wednesday, August 20, 2003 in the chapel of H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Bro. Don Hatton officiating. Interment was in the Jack Lawless Cemetery. Laura Josephine "Jo" Antle Henry
Of Jamestown, Kentucky, died Saturday, August 2, 2003 at her home. She was survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Dr. Charles Victor Henry and three children Dr. Ann Karen Henry of Southborough, Mass., Dr. Mark Allen Henry of Somerset, Ky. and Laura Henry Harris of Columbia, Ky. She is also survived by one brother, Thruston Antle and eight grandchildren. She was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church for forty-four years. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women. Jo graduated from the Lindsey Wilson College and Eastern Kentucky University. Jo was also a retired teacher from the Russell County School system where she taught for more than twenty-five years as an English and Gifted and Talented teacher. She was born on August 23, 1930 in Jamestown, Kentucky to the late Senator Robert Antle and Angie Noma Miller Antle. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jordan Antle and sisters, Corinne Antle Smith, Elizabeth Antle, Pearl Antle Loy, Lillie Antle Henderson and Lettie Antle. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of gifts to the Henry Endowed Scholarship Fund at Lindsey Wilson college or to the Jamestown Untied Methodist church. Funeral services were held at the Jamestown United Methodist Church on Tuesday, August 5, 2003. Interment was in the Jamestown Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers were Women’s Wednesday Morning Prayer Group. Active Pallbearers were Louis Jordan Antle, Jerry Schureman, Edwin Smith, Michael Wallace, Timothy Henry, Phillip Henry, Clifford Sparks, Jerry Loy. H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Flonnie Frances Holt, 75
A resident of Dothan Alabama died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services were Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tharel Shirah officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. Graveside services were Sunday at Jamestown Cemetery in Jamestown, KY with H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel directing. Mrs. Holt was born September 19, 1927 in Monticello, KY to Joe and Mary Adair Cape . She resided in Jamestown, KY most of her life prior to moving to Dothan, Alabama in 1991. Mrs. Holt was a homemaker and the widow of Walter Holt who died in 1990. She was a past member of Jamestown Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her children, Mary Jo and her husband, Hal Vargo, Greenwood, IN, Claudia Lynne and her husband, Ronald Cosby, Dothan, AL; and grandchildren, Becky and Curry Fletcher, Dothan, AL and Lori Roy, Wicksburg; and a great grandchild, Zachary Lineberry. Local arrangements were by H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel.
