Luler Bennett, 82, Jamestown, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2003 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Somerset, KY. Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and attended Fairview Separate Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bennett is survived by one sister, Cressie (Hollis) Antle, Jamestown, KY; one niece, Anna Lou (Anthony) Ballou, Columbia, KY; and one nephew, Stephen (Becky) Antle, Russell County.
Funeral services were Monday, April 14, 2003 in the chapel of Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Coffey and Bro. Raymond Martinb officiating.
Interment
was in the Haven Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stephen Antle, Anthony Ballou, Kyle Ballou, Larry Helm, Derrick Helm and Elwood Helm.

Elmer Lester Blair, 71, Russell Springs, KY. passed away Friday, April 11, 2003. He was a retired die setter for General Electric.
He is survived by his wife, Bernita Marcum Blair, Russell Springs, KY; one son, Michael (Karen) Blair, Borden, IN; one daughter, Tonya (Jeff) Adams, Jamestown, KY; one brother, Buford Blair, Columbia, KY; two sisters, Justine Gross, Arizona and Erlene Gaskin, California; five grandhcildren and one great grandchild also survive.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Elvin Blair.
Funeral services were Monday, April 14, 2003 in the chapel of H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Bro. Tony Stephens officiating.
Interment
was in the Jamestown Cemetery.

George Horek, 88, Fair Oaks Nursing Home , Jamestown, KY. He was a retired accountant.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Kim DelRe, Somerset, KY; two grandchildren and one great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, April 14, 2003 aith Rev. Dan Lincoln officiating.
Interment
was in the Russell Springs Cemetery.

Coe, Casey County, and Carson Coe, Jamestown, KY; three sisters, Virginia Mae Howell, Scottsburg, IN, Betty Hawkins, Russell Springs, KY, and Sarah Rector, Illnois, his foster mother, Reba Coe Smith; a foster brother, Rev. Jerry Smith; a foster sister, Vanda Smith, all of Russell Springs, KY; two grandchildren, Tammy (Marty) Wolford, Russell Springs, KY and Timmy (Christina) Coe, Jamestown, KY; and one great grandchild, Ethan Grant Wolford.
Funeral services were Monday, April 14, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Conner and Rev. Danny Bailey officiating. Special music was provided by Charles Shepherd.

was in the Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Raymond A. Brockman, 80, Jamestown, KY, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2003 at the Russell County Hospital. He was a retired County Extension Agent and a member of the Jamestown Christian Church. He was also a member of Russell Lodge 284 and the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Nola Madden Brockman, Jamestown, KY; one son, Ricky (Beverly) Brockman, Jamestown, KY; three daughters, Reda (Ron) Herdtner, Jabez, KY. Myra Bernard, Dunnville, KY, and Rayma Brockman, Russell Springs, KY; one brother, William Aldus Brockman, Roley, KY; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and one step great -grandchild.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at the JamestownChristian Church with Bro. Tony Stephens officiating.

is in the Jamestown Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Roger (June) Foley, Taylorsville, KY; one daughter, Ruby Jean (Billy) Luttrell, Russell Springs, KY; two brothers, Samuel Scales, Russell Springs, KY and Oscar Scales, Greenfield, IN; two sisters, Ruby Foley and Madeline Prater, both of Russell Springs, KY; one half sister, Faye Burton, Somerset, KY; three grandchildren, Randy Luttrell, Ricky Foley, and Renee Foley; three great grandchildren, Ryla Luttrell, Chelsey Foley, and Morgan Foley.

Shirley Wells, 89, Jamestown, KY passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at the Russell County Hospital. He was a retired tool and die maker.
He is survived by two daughters, Cordella Voils, Russell Springs, KY and Barbara Appleby, Jamestown, KY; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.

Junior Ellis Perkins, 58, Faubush, KY passed away Thursday, April 24, 2003 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was a carpenter by trade.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Polston, Jabez, KY; one daughter, Cheryl Perkins, Jabez, KY; his mother, Ina Perkins, Somerset, KY; four brothers, R.V., Kenzel, and Roger Perkins, all of Jabez, KY and Clifford Perkins, Illinois; and four sisters, Janice Decker, Somerset, KY, Brenda Henderson, Jabez, KY and Norma Ramlow and Hattie Hughers, both of Russell Springs, KY; one granddaughter, Heather Perkins.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 26, 2003 in the chapel of Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Warriner officiating.

Bro. Lee Roy Kerns, 77, Columbia, Ky passed away Saturday, May 10, 2003 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was retired from General Electric in Louisville, KY and a member of Purdy Separate Baptist Church, a Separate Baptist minister and the Pastor of Christian Church Home in Jabez, KY. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was the son of the late Hobert and Pearl Coffey Kerns of Adair County.
Survivors include his wife, Renea Coomer Kerns, Columbia, KY; one son, Roy David (Nancy) Kerns, Shepherdsville, KY; four daughters, Diann (James) Elliott, Shepherdsville, KY, Patsy (Paul) Young, Baytown, TX, June (Roy) Moore, Hustonville, KY and Rebecca (Terry) Ashbaugh, Shepherdsville, KY; two brothers, Joe Kerns, Columbia, KY and Dallas Kerns, Bardstown, KY; four sisters, Allene Burton and Dorothy Kerns, both of Columbia, KY, Alta Burnett, Taylorsville, KY and Mabel Barnes, Bardstown, KY; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, James, and Charlie Kerns.

Leroy Murphy, 60, Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at his residence. He was a retired oil well driller and a member of Tabor Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gale Robinson Murphy, Columbia, KY; two sons, James (Kim) Murphy, Breeding, KY and Leroy (Chastity) Murphy Jr., Columbia, KY; two daughters, Janice (Larry) Rooks, Columbia, KY and Candi (Bentley) O’Dell, Columbia,KY; two step-children, Angela (Tim) Richard and Felisha (Shawn) Atchley, Russell Springs, KY; two brothers, Glenn Murphy, Columbia, KY and Howard Murphy, Greensburg, KY; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Murphy, Greensburg, KY; five grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Harlan, Gene, and Ronnie Murphy and one sister, Jeanette Taylor.

He is survived by one son, Roger (Virginia) Garner, Jamestown, KY and one daughter, Virginia Southard, Monticello, KY; two brothers, Cordell Garner and Luther Garner, both of Jamestown; and two sisters, Reba Hammond, Jamestown, KY and Kristine Welsh, Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Maretta Garner, Krista Garner and Stephanie Southard and one great-grandchild, Kyle Jordan Garner.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 29, 2003 in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Coppersmith and Rev. Billy Raby officiating. Special music was presented by Debbie Stephens and the grandchildren.

Patricia A. Murray Malone, 54, Noblesville, IN,formerly of Jamestown, KY, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2003 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She had worked at Riverview Hospital and Shades of Tan in Indiana for many years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lapel, IN and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Noblesville, IN and enjoyed playing Bingo.
She is survived by one son, Greg (Shari) Malone; one daughter, Kim (Steve) Cook; three brothers, Bobby (Pat) Murray, Jeff Murray and Steve Murray, all of Noblesville, IN; two sisters, Debbie (Dennis) Bond, Noblesville, IN and Phyllis Williamson, Fishers, IN; two grandchildren, Garrett Matthew Cook and Bryan Dale Malone; host of nieces and nephews and a best friend, Bernice Partain, Noblesville, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Malone and her parents, Elmer Ray and Martha Anilene Murray.
