Barbara P. Crawford, died 9-23-01
Harmony Twp. NJ. Barbara Parker Crawford,69 died Sunday at the SCCI Hospital, Easton Pa.
Born in Dover NJ Mrs. Crawford lived in W. Amwell Twp. From 1956 – 1996 and in Harmony Twp since.
From 1956 –1996 she was the secretary of the 2nd English Presbyterian Church of Amwell at Mt. Airy where her husband Rev. Robert H. Crawford was pastor. Over the years she served the church community as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, youth group advisor, director of Vacation Bible School, Elder, Presbytery Committee member and chaired the Friendship and Service committee. Over the years Mrs. Crawford also served as hostess to many seminary students, visitors and guest ministers of the church.
She was the former coordinator of the Delaware Valley Council of Church’s Emergency Food Pantry (DVCC) and most recently she was chairperson of the Board of Deacons at the Harmony Presbyterian Church in Phillipsburg.
Daughter of the late Willard C. and Olive J. Schofield Parker she is survived by her husband of 48 years Rev. Robert H. Crawford, one daughter and son in law, Cathy & David Lauten of Boston Ma., one son Ken Crawford of Hightstown, one brother Willard C. Parker Jr. of Canandaigua, NY one granddaughter, Samantha Lauten.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at the 2nd English Presbyterian Church of Amwell at Airy. The Pastor Paul La Montagne will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the church.
A memorial service will be held Friday September 28th at 7:00 PM at the Harmony Presbyterian Church 2727 Belvidere Rd. Rt 519 Phillipsburg NJ. The Rev. Dean Higgs, Pastor will officiate.

Hazel M. Ott 84 died Thursday at the Hunterdon Care Center Raritan Twp.
Born in Hopewell, Pa. Mrs. Ott lived in Lambertville most of her life and in W. Amwell Twp. for the past 15 years.
Daughter of the late John and Susannah Spahn Troutman, and widow of Arden Ott, she is survived by one daughter and son in law Connie & James Leming Sr. of W. Amwell Twp., one sister Bertha Morgan of Saxton Pa., two grandchildren and their spouses, Jimette & James Roberts of Central Islip NY, James and Maryanne Leming Jr. of Hamilton Twp., six great grandchildren, Jessica, Jonathan, Jason, Julia, Joanna & Josiah Roberts all of Central Islip NY.

Steve Ruggieri, died 8-17-03
W. Amwell Twp. Steve Ruggieri, 89 of W. Amwell Twp. died Sunday August 17, 2003 at his home.
Born in New York City, Mr. Ruggieri had lived in Hopewell for ten years and in W. Amwell Twp. since 1955. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church Lambertville. He served in the US Army during WWII and was an active member of the Hopewell American Legion Post # 339 since 1946. For over 50 years Mr. Ruggieri was a member of the International Union of North America as a stone mason.
Son of the late Antonio and Grace Ciazzone Ruggieri, and brother in law of the late Carmella Arecco, he is survived by his wife of 56 years Grace Antinoro Ruggieri, five sons and two daughters in law, Joseph A. Ruggieri, and Charles Ruggieri both at home, Stephen Ruggieri, of W. Amwell Twp., Anthony and Kathleen Ruggieri of Horsham Pa., John and Coleen Ruggieri of Stockton, four grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas and Vincent Ruggieri all of Horsham Pa., Adrianna Ruggieri of Stockton, one brother in law Joseph Arecco of W. Amwell Twp., several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn Tate
Evelyn Casher Tate 90 died Sunday at the Eastern Star Home in Warminister Pa.
Born in Glen Ritchie, Pa. Mrs. Tate was formerly from Bradford Pa. She and her late husband Stewart Kennard Tate were owners of S.K. Tate Furs, Fashionland a woman’s clothing store, Men’s World a men’s clothing store and the “Dis and Dat” gift shop both in Bradford Pa.
Mrs. Tate was a member of the First Methodist Church, Bradford, Pa., and later the West Side Methodist Church in Clearfield, Pa. She was a member of the Bradford Current Events Club, Dorcus Circle and a current member of the Eastern Star.
Daughter of the late James and Stella Miller Casher, widow of Stewart Kennard Tate, mother of the late William K. Tate, sister of the late Mary Wallace, Elizabeth Braniff, Leah Wilson, Mildred Straley, Vada Williams, Lois Johnson, grandmother of the late James Tate, great grandmother of the late Patti Ann Burroughs, sister in law Barbara E. Tate, she is survived by a daughter and son in law, Sandra T. and John D. Burroughs of Lambertville, a son Gary C. Tate of Charlotte NC., a daughter in law Dona Tate of Bradford Pa., grandchildren Susan Fitzgerald, Michael Tate, Kristen Luther, Pamela Rose, J. Mary E. Kuykendall, died 5-16-04
Hopewell Twp. Mary Emma Kuykendall 85 died Sunday at her home.
Born in Morrisville Mrs. Kuykendall had lived in Browns Mills for many years and in Hopewell Twp for the past ten years.
She attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Lambertville. Mrs. Kuykendall retired from Sterling Drug Company as a machine operator after thirty five years of employment. She was an active member of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare.
Daughter of the late Franklyn and Mary Vanzant Pettman, sister of the late Rhoda Maute and grandmother of the late Gerald Kuykendall Jr., she is survived by two sons James Kuykendall of W. Amwell Twp., Gerald Kuykendall of Hopewell Twp., one sister Clara Bucko of Scranton Pa. Mrs. Kuykendall is the grandmother of Jimmy Kuykendall, Veronica Brown, Ron Kuykendall, Rich Kuykendall, Diane Metrick, Edwin Barreto, Hana Kuykendall. She also has 10 great grandchildren 1 great great grandson, four nieces Joyce McCandless of Va., Joan Burd of NJ, Cindy Tucker of Pa., Beverly Grilli of Pa, two nephews, William Huber of Va., and Chester Guiher of KY.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the Garefino Funeral Home. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Calling hour will be Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Joseph F. DiSalvi, died 5-23-2005
Joseph (“Puggy”) F. Di Salvi, age 79, of Lambertville, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
Mr. Di Salvi was born February 19, 1926 in Lambertville and was the son of the late, Joseph and Josephine Di Salvi. He married the former June Reed and the couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in February. He retired from General Motors in Trenton after 31 years of service.
Mr. Di Salvi was a member of St. John the Evangelist RC Church in Lambertville and was a founding member of the Lambertville Ramblers football program in 1968. He was also a member of the Lambertville Elks, the American Legion Tuscany Post 120, VFW, and the Knights of Columbus. He served in the United States Army during WWII in the European Theater and the South Pacific, receiving the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for Valor.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon Peters and her husband Larry of Deltona FL, Christi Corpora and her husband Mickey of Palmer Township PA; and four sons, Ronald and his wife Julie of Lambertville, Lawrence and his wife Sharon of Buckingham PA, Randall of Lambertville and Dino of Pittstown NJ; one brother, Raymond and his wife Anne of Lambertville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Michael and his wife Robin, Christopher, Shelley, Anthony, Joseph, Vincent, Nicholas, and Erica; and four great-grandchildren, Emily, Jenna, Brian, Anthony, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Roland, and Victor, and two sisters, Rose and Perrinda.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 26th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Rt. 179 in Lambertville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist RC Church, Bridge St., Lambertville. Interment
will be private.
Amelia A. Smith, died 11-28-01
Amelia A. Smith 89 died Wednesday at the Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home, Warrington.
Born in New Hope, Pa. Mrs. Smith had lived in Lambertville and since 1958 in Center Bridge. She was a member of St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church in New Hope. She had worked at the Lambertville Hosiery Mill.
Daughter of the late George and Josephine Rogers and sister of the late Grace Grady, Rose Horner, Madeline Carter, Frank Rogers and Ernest Rogers, she is survived by her husband of 54 years Roy A. Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 am at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, New Hope Pa. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 9 – 10 am at the Garefino Funeral Home 12 N. Franklin St. Rt. 179 Lambertville.
David M. Kane, died 12-16-01
David Michael Kane, 34 died Sunday December 16th, in Lancaster. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Kane lived most of his life in Havertown and in Collegeville for the past three years. Mr. Kane graduated in 1985 from Monsignor Bonner High School, Drexel Hill and from Moravian College in 1990 with a BA Degree.
He was a certified aborist and a member of the International Society of Arborculture. Mr. Kane owned and operated Eagle Horticulture in Collegeville. He was a member of St. Eleanor’s Roman Catholic Church, Collegeville.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Masterson Kane, one son James David Kane at home, his parents John and Margaret Kane, Jr. of Havertown, his paternal grandmother Mary E. Kane of Lansdowne, two sisters and a brother in law, Maura Kane of Devon, Christine and Christopher Johnson of Florence SC., one brother John Kane of King of Prussia, father and mother in law, William and Elaine Masterson, of Collegeville, brothers in law, Mark Masterson of Germany, Gregory Masterson of Putney VT., two nephews, Benjamin Johnson, Daniel Johnson, one niece, Maggie Johnson, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday December 21st at 11:00 am at St. Eleanor’s Roman Catholic Church, 647 Locust St. Collegeville. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohocken. Calling hours will be at St. Eleanor’s Church, Thursday from 6 – 9 PM and Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the mass.

Fred Crawford, died 12-31-01
Fred Crawford, 101 died December 31st at the HCR Manor Care Nursing Home, Easton Pa.
Born in Belfast Ireland, Mr. Crawford came to the USA in 1923. He lived in Nutley NJ and worked for Sofield Transfer Co. of New York and Jersey City until his retirement in 1970. He rose through the ranks at Sofield Transfer from truck mechanic to Vice President. During WW II he took a leave of absence to build aircraft carrier elevators for the US Navy at Otis Elevator Co. in Harrison NJ.
His retirement years were spent in Orange City Fl., where he was an officer in the city shuffleboard club, and a member of the Congregational Church. During his fifty years of residency in Nutley he was a member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church and of the Nutley Chess Club. He also served as a first aid member, auxiliary police officer and air raid warden during the war years.
After the death of his first wife Elsie McGrand, he married Hazel Mumma of NY City. He is the brother of the late Harry Crawford, Willie Crawford and Sadie Crawford. He is survived by one son Rev. Robert H. Crawford, Harmony Twp., NJ a brother Robert A. Crawford of Belfast Ireland, two grandchildren Kenneth Robert Crawford of Hightstown, Cathleen Ann Lauten of Medfield Ma., one great granddaughter Samantha Nicole Lauten.
A memorial service will be held Saturday January 12th at 2:00 PM in the Second English Presbyterian Church of Amwell, Mt. Airy, where for forty years Rev. Robert H. Crawford served as pastor. The present pastor Rev. Paul La Montagne will officiate. Snow date January 19th, 2:00 PM.
Visitation will be prior to and following the service at the church.

Gertrude Frany, died 1-3-02
Solebury Twp. Pa. Gertrude E. Frany, 69 died Thursday January 3rd at the Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, Pa. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Frany and devoted mother of Christine Frany and mother of the late Peter Frany and brother of the late Edgar Welker.
She was the daughter of the late Jakob and Ida Welker. Gertrude is survived in Germany by her sister Ilse Klee, brother Heinz Welker, nephews Rainer Klee, Michael Klee, and niece Sibylle Jost, two great nieces Kathrin Klee, Anna Lina Klee, two great nephews Mario Jost, Jan Klee and a sister Agnes. She was the dear aunt of Allison and Malcolm Schacter of Doylestown, Pa.
Gertrude was born in Runnenberg, Germany and came to America in 1954 where she married Joseph Frany. They chose to live in Solebury because it reminded her so much of her native country.
Gertrude was the quintessential homemaker. She could take simple food and turn it into an Epicurean delight. A dinner at Gert’s was a memorable experience. Her joy in teaching neighborhood children to bake German cookies was a memory they would keep forever. She could take a simple piece of cloth and turn it into a Paris design, a skein of yarn into a baby sweater on would cherish for a lifetime.
Gertrude was a true friend and she will be remembered for all the wonderful things she gave us.
A memorial service will be held at the Friends MeetingHouse in Solebury, Pa. Located at Sugan and Meetinghouse Rd on Saturday January 12th at 2:30 PM.

William J. Mahan died 1-15-02
E. Greenwich, RI: William Joseph Mahan, 81 a musician, conductor, and retired director of admissions of the New England Conservatory of Music died January 15th at home.
Born in Brockton Ma., he had lived in Central Falls and in New Jersey before moving to East Greenwich in 1967. He was the director of admissions at New England Conservatory of Music, Boston for 15 years retiring in 1979 and had been a teacher and music department chairman in Burlington NJ school system.
He was the orchestral conductor of the Rhode Island and New Jersey State orchestras. He was the founder and conductor of Burlington Symphony Orchestra and the Bass & Treble Clef Choir in Burlington. He played the clarinet and saxophone and been a big band leader in the 1940’s. A communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church he was the director of music there from 1979 –1985.
Mr. Mahan was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy, Pawtucket and receive a bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and a master’s degree from Temple University, Philadelphia.
He was an Army Air Force Veteran of WW II and a member of the East Greenwich American Legion Post # 15 and the East Greenwich Veteran Fireman’s Association.
Son of the late James and Jennie Geoghegan Mahan, widow of Emma Jane DeLisle Mahan, brother of the late Margaret, Keith, John, James and Edward Mahan, grandfather of the late William Mahan Moffatt, He is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Laura M. and Richard Balkin of Geneseo, NY, Lisa A. Mahan and Terrence Moffatt of New Hope, Pa., four grandchildren Nicholas, Daniel, Douglas Mahan Balkin,.

Shirley Loveless died 1-16-02
Lambertville: Shirley Ann Fleck Loveless 65 died Wednesday at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Twp.
Born in Frenchtown NJ she moved to Atlantic City in 1955 where she worked for the Mayor’s office of Atlantic City and Somers Point. She moved to Lambertville in 1966 and retired from the State of New Jersey Department of Treasury in September 2001. Mrs. Loveless was active member in the Lambertville PTA and the band parents association of South Hunterdon Regional High School. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Daughter of the late James A. and Edna Lerch Fleck and sister of the late Ann Dawe, Joyce Osmun and James A. Fleck III, she is survived by her husband of 41 years, Leon E. Loveless Sr., two daughters and sons in law, Amy and Jon Fiel of West Trenton, Margaret and Dean Myers Jr., of Sergeantsville, one son and daughter in law Leon E. and Anna Loveless Jr. of Port Deposit Md., grandchildren Kerri Loveless, Shyrl Myers, Brianna Myers and Dean Myers, III, Dakota Fiel, Richard Loveless, Katelyn Loveless and Aaron Loveless.

Margaret Seak Koons, 95 died Saturday January 13th, at the Greenleaf Nursing Home, Doylestown.
Born in Pittston, Mrs. Koons lived in New Hope for 53 years and in Lambertville since 1961. She was a former member of St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church and its choir, and was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 44 Bridge St. Lambertville and its altar and rosary society. Mrs. Koons was a member of the New Hope Eagle Fire Co. Ladies auxiliary. Mrs. Koons worked as a cashier at the New Hope Village Store for many years.
Daughter of the late Emmanuel and Margaret Sweeney Seak and widow of Harold G. Koons (1961) she is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Jeanne Montgomery, Joan and Richard Fleming, all of Lambertville, six grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
